Alabaster Dawn Walkthrough: Quest Route, Bosses, Puzzles, and Rebuild Cleanup

Juno fighting enemies in Alabaster Dawn

Early Access walkthrough and systems guide

Alabaster Dawn is already dense in Early Access: it mixes CrossCode-style exploration, weapon swapping, elemental puzzle rooms, cooking boosts, settlement rebuilding, and boss fights that punish sloppy stamina use. This walkthrough follows the verified Early Access route from the prologue through Rebuild From Ruins, with the important puzzle logic, boss openings, weapon unlocks, and cleanup notes gathered in one place.

The safest way to use this guide is to follow the quest order first, then return to the boss and puzzle tables when a room or fight stalls your progress. The game is still in Early Access, so later updates may change rewards, names, or unfinished quest endpoints.

Quick Route

Follow this order if you only need the critical path. Side rewards, optional gates, and room-specific puzzle notes are covered later.

Order Quest / area Main job Key unlock or warning
1 Prologue: The End of the World Learn melee chains, dodge stamina, parry timing, stagger, and Divine Art charging. This is a tutorial chapter with Dahmon before Juno becomes playable.
2 The Lost Lands Wake as Juno, leave the Underground, cross broken paths, clear flower barriers, and find Lyhamn. Unlock the sword, crossbow, healing bulbs, Growth Charts, Waysprouts, and the Inferna Vespa boss.
3 Unyielding Solidarity Reunite with Lyhamn, help Penterson and Orlanda, clear Nyx nests, and rebuild the village. Unlock cooking, Dim Halo, Ortrom Solas, Fain Solas, Leaf Blades, and several early gem rewards.
4 Journey Up North Enter the Hall of Trials with Filia, solve block, crystal, elemental, and electric-chain puzzles. Unlock Aether and learn to swap elements mid-puzzle; Rana Lingua Magna is the big gatekeeper.
5 Freeing Sundalan Move through exhaust puzzles, Stone Call Inn, Sol Gate Bridge, Old Farm, North Bend, and Impact Crater. Grass enemies dislike the sword/chakram approach; Grandis Molis tests parry timing and obstacle clearing.
6 Rebuild From Ruins Help Sundalan recover, clean the wheat fields, open the Fulcrum route, and clear Grand Passage. Unlock the Fulcrum Mark, optional Divine Gates, Corran Solas, and the current Early Access endpoint near Somu’s Dream.

Before You Start

Check the Journal often. The Chronicle tab tracks main questlines, while Stories act as side quest tracking. Hold the objective button when you need to confirm which marker the game is currently following.

Spend Growth Points as you go. Juno has a general chart, but each weapon also has its own chart. If a boss feels like a wall, look for yellow weapon skills, defensive upgrades, and anything that improves the weapon you are already using in that fight.

Use Waysprouts as reset points. Resting restores health and healing stock, and it also gives you a cooking opportunity once that system is unlocked. Enemies and some healing sprouts respawn, so a Waysprout is also a good place to farm if you are short on Growth Points.

Do not solve every puzzle with one weapon. Alabaster Dawn expects you to combine melee weapons, ranged weapons, elements, Filia’s ring control, Nyx lumps, floating blocks, floor switches, and time-sensitive crystals. If a mechanism looks correct but does nothing, you are probably using the wrong element or trying to solve a two-weapon room with one projectile.

Core Systems That Matter

System What it means in practice
Guard and parry Holding guard reduces damage, but tapping it at the right moment can parry. Parried projectiles often return to enemies, raise stagger, or solve fight mechanics.
Stagger Many enemies have a break or stagger bar under health. Fill it by attacking or parrying, then use the opening for heavy damage.
Healing bulbs Use healing bulbs only when you need them; the game will not consume one at full health. Large field bulbs can fully restore you when broken.
Cooking boosts Cooked meals provide healing stock and temporary boosts. Fighting and using boosts feeds Palate progress, which strengthens future food effects.
Gems Gems slot into equipment sections and provide stat or modifier bonuses. Early examples include Dim Halo for durability and Bent Edge for melee pressure.
Elements Physis is your starting element. Aether unlocks in the Hall of Trials, and later puzzles can require swapping elements after a projectile is already placed.
Autosaves and fast travel The game saves frequently when entering rooms or maps. If you get stuck, try loading the recent autosave or fast traveling from the map if available.

Steam Deck and Steam Controller players should also know that a community configuration note reported trackpad aiming issues around late May 2026. If aiming feels wrong on Deck, check the game’s Steam controller layouts or edit the trackpad behavior. Treat that as a device-setting tip, not a quest requirement.

Weapon And Ability Unlocks

Unlock Where it appears Why it matters
Claio Solas Lost Lands, after Cabbage joins Juno Your first divine sword. Use it for fast melee pressure and early Nuemera encounters.
Bogha Solas Lost Lands, after the path is blocked by flower barriers Your first ranged weapon. Aim at flowers, distant enemies, and mechanisms.
Ortrom Solas Branching Out, after the Red Forest encounter A divine hammer. Break shiny rocks, punish armored targets, and expose hidden molerats in wheat.
Fain Solas A Sneak Peak, after the turtle encounter on Silver Peak A chakram that can catch and redirect movable balls. It becomes central to later Nyx lump and vein puzzles.
Aether Hall of Trials B2 The second element. Use it against Aether-vulnerable enemies and for dual-element projectile puzzles.
Leaf Blades After Custo Turri Magnus, according to the cross-checked walkthrough route An early Divine Art. Useful as extra burst when a boss is staggered or locked in an animation.
Crack Shot Remis Rock route after the electric-barrier encounter A later Divine Art reward during the Journey Up North section.
Corran Solas Grand Passage / Nuemera Island A kama-style ranged weapon on a chain. Use it to pull Juno to poles and manipulate Nyx lumps from safer angles.

Prologue And Lost Lands Walkthrough

The opening chapter teaches combat through Dahmon’s final stand against Nyx’s army. Break rocks, chain sword strikes, and watch for flashes before enemy attacks. If an enemy blinks or flashes, dodge or parry instead of trying to finish a combo. When a laser enemy appears, parry the shot and keep pressure on its stagger meter. The Divine Art prompt teaches you to hold the art button until the meter charges, then release for a heavy finisher.

After the disaster, the story shifts to Juno o’Lira in the Underground. Leave the coffin area by going south, inspect the surrounding path, and pick up the Divine Marble among the plants. Cabbage appears, names Juno as the Chosen, and gives her Claio Solas when the first Nuemera arrive.

From there, move west across the broken bridge and boulder. The game begins locking you into encounter arenas; clear every enemy before looking for an exit. Healing bulbs appear at the lower left, and larger bulbs on the ground can refill health in full. When Cabbage grants Bogha Solas, use the crossbow to shoot flowers that hold barriers in place.

The flower-mortar enemies are safer from range. Keep moving, shoot them before they can control the area, and spend any Growth Points after the game unlocks Growth Charts. Continue through Kamu Village, then use the Waysprout as a rest point. At the dead-end flower puzzle, climb the ledge and find the angle on the final hidden flower instead of shooting from the blocked lower route.

When Wasp Nuemera start appearing, do not chase them blindly. Let them commit to ranged attacks, parry what you can, and answer with Bogha Solas. After you find Lyhamn’s shelter and weave the Nyx Vein, follow the pillar of light toward the first real boss.

Inferna Vespa Boss

Inferna Vespa is designed to teach patience. When it is airborne, shoot its abdomen with Bogha Solas and stay out of the stomp area. If it drops toward the ground, back away instead of trying to sneak in a sword combo. Keep shooting until the stagger meter fills, then run in and unload melee damage while it is down.

The mouth laser pattern can be dodged or parried. Parrying is better if your timing is reliable because it maintains pressure, but there is no shame in dodging while you learn the rhythm. After Vespa falls, Juno weaves the nest, overuses her power, and Lyhamn’s land starts to recover.

Unyielding Solidarity Walkthrough

When Juno wakes in Lyhamn, talk to Solon and Cassandra, then head for Lyhamn Centre. The map and journal are now important: the yellow objective dot points you forward, while the Journal separates main questlines from side Stories. If you struggle to leave the parents’ camp, move south first, then turn left.

At Lyhamn Centre, Estera introduces cooking. Food creates temporary boosts and healing stock, and the system becomes stronger as you use dishes and fight. From this point the route splits into Penterson and Orlanda’s tasks, but doing Penterson first is smoother because it gives you the hammer before several rock routes and armored enemies become relevant.

Penterson And Branching Out

Find Penterson at Lumber Corner by going north out of the village, reaching Forked Road, and turning east. Below Lyhamn’s Shelter an unavoidable encounter rewards Dim Halo, an early defensive gem. Equip it in the Cordis section if you want extra survivability.

For Branching Out, go southeast from Lumber Corner and clear the flower Nuemera. The rocks that appear let you cross the river, but they vanish after you pass, so continue south and fight the major encounter. The bug-like shelled enemy at the end gives Ortrom Solas, the divine hammer. Use it on previously unbreakable shiny rocks and against slow armored targets.

Return to Penterson by taking the alternate path opened by the hammer, then report in to finish the task and receive his contribution for Lyhamn.

Orlanda And Rice To The Occasion

Orlanda is in Old Kamu Village, far north on the map. The newly restored safe bridges make the trip easier. Keep following the green route and stop at Waysprouts if you need to cook or rest. At Kamu Village, Orlanda asks you to clear Nyx nests at Eye of Remis and Silver Fields.

Start west of Kamu at Eye of Remis, where one nest sits north and another south. Then go to Silver Fields and clear the two nests there. A new Story, A Sneak Peak, appears during this stretch. You can detour into it before returning to Orlanda, and it is worth doing because it unlocks Fain Solas.

A Sneak Peak

Track A Sneak Peak and move to the northern edge of Kamu Valley. The early ball puzzles ask you to attack the ball toward nearby tentacles or veins. If the ball is on a raised platform, shoot it into position first, then send it into the target. After the turtle encounter, you receive Fain Solas, a chakram that can catch a ball and redirect it from range. Use it immediately to launch the ball into the next veins and open the route to Silver Peak.

Do not rush the optional reward orbs in this section if your health is low; the route asks for precise jumps and repeated ball aiming. Return later if the platforming is costing more time than the reward is worth.

Blooming Villain And Custo Turri Magnus

After Orlanda’s task, track Blooming Villain, fast travel near Eye of Remis, and move south toward the blocked route. Break the rocks on the right side to open the path, then rest at the Waysprout before the boss.

Custo Turri Magnus fires projectiles and grows defensive cover if you parry from the obvious line. Keep moving around the arena before reflecting the projectile so the boss does not wall itself off from the return shot. In phase two, destroy the four roots or posts around the boss to remove its protection. In phase three, the floor spikes and projectile timing get tighter, so prioritize survival until the projectile reflection window is clean. Use your Divine Art when stagger opens a safe burst window.

The Unknown Soldier

After Lyhamn’s rebuild scenes and the feast, a red-aura rock triggers a duel with an unknown soldier. This fight is about movement and stagger. Parry close sword swings when you are confident, but do not stand in front of the shield waiting to trade. Circle behind after dodging and use the hammer when you want stronger stagger pressure.

In the second phase, the soldier adds projectiles and an Infinity Sword shockwave. The charged projectile can return for a second pass, so be ready to parry twice. Dodge sideways before Infinity Sword lands, then punish from behind. In the final phase, the soldier tries to heal. Filia interrupts the attempt, giving you the opening to finish the duel. Once the fight ends, Remis appears at the Wellspring and the route moves toward the north.

A puzzle room in Alabaster Dawn with platforms and mechanisms
Official Steam screenshot. Many puzzle rooms ask you to think about projectile paths, element state, moving platforms, and Filia’s ring control at the same time.

Journey Up North And Hall Of Trials

After Unyielding Solidarity, speak to Petros to unlock gem forging with Remis’s hammer, talk to Noah, and visit Filia. Juno tries to leave without her, but Filia follows. Fast travel to Koro Valley’s Eye of Remis, head north through the left Crescented Gate, rest at the Waysprout until night, then move through shallow water and the next encounter to enter the Hall of Trials.

The Hall of Trials labels rooms as A or B sections. If you get lost, think of each room as one lesson: moving platforms, Filia blocks, projectile arrows, electric chains, elemental swapping, or enemy mechanics.

Room Core solution idea Common mistake
A2 / entrance Shoot mechanisms to drop barriers and raise platforms. Use Filia’s rings to form bridges. Leaving Filia behind before creating the bridge she needs.
A3 Move Filia’s blocks onto useful jump lines; star circles on the floor hint at efficient placement. Trying to make long jumps from the stairs without using the block as a midpoint.
A4 Use arrow mechanisms to carry the projectile through the chain. Mix melee hits with ranged shots to change barriers without dropping the projectile. Firing a second shot too early and cancelling the held arrow path.
A5 Stand on electric platforms, shoot pedestals, and line up blocks so the golden hand can start a chain reaction. Assuming the golden hand is broken when the real issue is distance between electric links.
B1 Break side plants for health before the encounter, then use the electric platform and ranged attacks against shelled enemies. Trying to stagger shelled enemies that are not meant to stagger normally.
B2 Receive Aether from Libra and leave the trial section. Forgetting that element switching is now part of both combat and puzzle routing.
B3 Use Filia’s crystals and moving platforms, then later return after the Trial Mark for the upper section. Trying to complete the later electric-block section before B4-B7 unlock the route.
B4-B7 Get the Trial Mark through B5-B7, then return to B4 to continue. Use purple floating blocks to break electric barriers. Missing that some B3/B4 instructions only apply after the Trial Mark loop.
B8 Let Filia weave explosive balls from slug enemies, then throw the created purple block into generators. Killing every enemy before using the slug’s projectile to solve the shield mechanic.
B9 Use both Physis and Aether. A projectile can remain in a mechanism while you switch element for the next shot. Calling the projectile back by shooting again before changing element or forwarding it.
B10 Survive a long encounter with turtles and flyfish, then exit through B3’s upper path. Playing too aggressively when the encounter is designed as an endurance check.

Outside the first hall, Aether is immediately useful against shelled enemies. At the time-sensitive crystal near the electric barrier, shoot the crystal, climb, break rocks with the hammer, trigger the golden hand, then shoot the crystal again and move before the platform cycle expires. After the next electric-barrier encounter, you receive Crack Shot and cross the Divine Bridge toward Remis Rock.

Before the second Hall of Trials, a Flyfish enemy appears. It spins and fires projectiles, so parry carefully instead of chasing. Once inside B3 onward, slow down and treat each mechanism as a state machine: where is the projectile, which element is it, which floor switch is held, and where is Filia’s block?

Rana Lingua Magna Boss

Rana Lingua Magna is the major boss above the Hall of Trials. Rest at the Waysprout before approaching Nyx’s Spire, then move left across the broken rocks. The boss has huge health and punishes players who stand still.

In phase one, avoid the electric tongue lines and highlighted jump-smash zones. Attack the head until the stagger meter fills. When the tongue falls out, hit the tongue hard; that is the main damage loop.

In phase two, the boss strings attacks together and uses a high jump that lands twice. Dash away twice instead of relaxing after the first impact. The boss can also heal when its tongue drops. Wait for slug Nuemera to throw explosive balls, let Filia weave them, create a purple block with the chakram, and throw that block onto the tongue to make it vulnerable.

In phase three, two electric generators protect the tongue. Use the same slug-ball-to-purple-block logic to disable the protection, then return to the head-stagger and tongue-damage cycle. Play defensively; the fight is long, and one greedy combo can cost more than a full careful minute.

Freeing Sundalan Walkthrough

After the northern route, Juno and Filia return toward Sundalan. From the mountain rest point, move southeast to the Waysprout, then take the eastern path. Giant grass blocks are cleared with the Divine Chakram. New Grass Nuemera are poor targets for the hammer, so swap back to the sword or chakram when they appear.

River Road

Break the yellow Nyx Cyst behind the grass to drop the wall, then move through exhaust fumes only when the timing is safe. To stop permanent fumes, push Nyx’s Lump into spherical suspenders and forward it into tentacles. When Filia creates crystals, break the lower one first, move the lump into the next suspender, then use the upper crystal to create the final route into the tentacles.

The mole-like Nuemera throws chakrams and burrows toward you. Keep moving and punish after it reappears. Later, when permanent fumes block the route, look for rocks and grass to the side; the hidden cyst disables the fumes for the area.

Stone Call Inn

Motoyaki joins the encounter here. Its rushing attack can break your parry, so fight from a safer distance and attack its back when the counter-like warning appears. The nearby exhaust puzzle uses time-sensitive crystals: hit one, cross quickly, use the floor switch, then rush the Nyx Cyst so Filia can pass.

Sol Gate Bridge, Old Farm, And North Bend

Rest and cook at the Waysprout before Sol Gate Bridge. After the memory scene, drop to the lower-left land, clear the encounter, and continue to Old Farm. The Old Farm puzzle combines a moving platform, a purple block, and golden hand electricity. Wait until the moving platform lines the purple block into the chain, then trigger the golden hand. Do this again for the left barrier and step on the cyst to finish.

At North Bend, clear grass with the chakram before fighting Grass Nuemera hidden inside it. The oversized vulture is not a full named boss here; shoot projectiles at its head until it retreats, then continue to Southern Entrance.

Southern Entrance And Impact Crater

The first Southern Entrance exhaust puzzle is mostly timing. The second asks you to keep one projectile inside a golden mechanism while changing element for the next hit. Remember that changing elements does not automatically recall a projectile already held in a mechanism.

Beacon O’ Hello is not reachable from this point in the verified route, so go to Impact Crater. Rest at the Sundalan Waysprout, cross the water gaps, and approach the second massive Nyx Nest. After the encounter, Grandis Molis appears.

Grandis Molis Boss

Grandis Molis behaves like a larger mole enemy. Its chakram throw can be parried, and a successful parry gives you a strong approach window. When it dives underground, dodge the surprise attack instead of trying to predict a free hit.

In phase two, Grandis Molis charges Ultra Spin while covering the arena with rocks and giant grass. Break the obstacles quickly and keep hitting the boss to interrupt the charge. If you fail, the arena fills with spinning rings for a long stretch, and the underground attack gains extra swings. Survive first, then resume the parry and stagger loop.

The final phase keeps the same rules with higher pressure. Keep parrying chakrams, dodge the underground swings, and spend burst damage only when the boss is staggered or safely exposed. After the fight, Juno and Filia weave the nest, Sundalan revives, and Juno wakes after a week with Miss Nerba nearby.

Rebuild From Ruins Walkthrough

This is the current cleanup route that completes the verified Early Access content. Rejoin Filia in Sundalan, meet her siblings Patra and Makyn, receive Patra’s Divine Hammer for revitalizing the land, then talk to Miss Nerba in central Sundalan. Ronan Estquin sends you to meet the people responsible for rebuilding.

Old Farm: Wheat Field Wac-A-Mole

Talk to Maria, then take the southern exit toward Old Farm. Ronan points you to the wheat field infestation. Defeating the visible Nuemera is not enough; watch for strangely moving wheat. Equip the hammer, hold a heavy attack, and smash the moving patch to force hidden molerats out of the ground. Repeat this for the next waves, weave Nyx’s Vein, and claim the Fulcrum Mark.

The Fulcrum Mark opens Divine Gates in the world. These are optional dungeons with puzzles and chests, so mark them mentally for cleanup, but do not let them distract you if your goal is finishing the Early Access route first.

Sol Gate Bridge And Stone Call Inn

Move southeast to Sol Gate Bridge. The bridge has been rebuilt, and you will find Ronan with Penterson. Continue to Stone Call Inn and meet Ronan again at Eye of Libra. The Ronan’s Inn quest at Stone Call Inn is not available in the verified Early Access route, so do not waste time trying to force it open. Move on to South Bend.

Grand Passage: Nuemera Island

From Stone Call Inn, go south, then east at the large intersection to find Ronan and Taryus in South Bend. Taryus sends you to free Grand Passage, also called Nuemera Island. Your goal is to reach and weave the central vein by clearing all surrounding Nuemera.

Cut grass, disable exhausts with hidden cysts, and watch for mosquito-like enemies that deal Aether damage and heal nearby enemies. Kill the healers early. After the first Nyx Nest in the area, Juno receives Corran Solas, the kama weapon. Stand on golden platforms to spawn poles, then use the kama to pull yourself across gaps.

Corran Solas also changes how Nyx Lump puzzles feel. Hold aim, pull the lump toward you, then push it into tentacles or spherical suspenders from the correct angle. Once the route to the center opens, clear the final large encounter and weave the last Nyx Vein. Return to South Bend, talk to Ronan and Taryus, and accept the next request to clear the aqueducts. On the way west from Sol Gate Bridge, a lodge scene introduces Somu and Somu’s Dream, the game’s roguelike-style mode. This is where the verified Early Access route currently stops.

Boss Quick Reference

Boss Best answer Do not do this
Inferna Vespa Shoot the abdomen while it is airborne, stagger it, then melee while grounded. Dodge or parry mouth lasers. Standing under the stomp to force sword damage.
Custo Turri Magnus Move around before reflecting projectiles, destroy roots/posts in later phases, and burst during stagger. Reflecting from a fixed position where the boss can wall off the return shot.
Unknown Soldier Circle the shield, parry close swings and charged projectiles, dodge Infinity Sword sideways, then punish from behind. Trading into the shield or relaxing after the first returning projectile.
Rana Lingua Magna Stagger the head, attack the tongue, and use slug-made purple blocks to stop healing or generator protection. Ignoring the slug mechanic in phases two and three.
Grandis Molis Parry chakrams, dodge burrow attacks, and interrupt Ultra Spin by clearing obstacles and attacking quickly. Letting Ultra Spin charge for free while you slowly clear grass.

Common Mistakes And Fixes

  • Using hammer on every armored-looking enemy: the hammer is excellent for rocks, molerats, and slow armored targets, but some enemies and grass-based threats are faster with sword, chakram, or element-aware ranged attacks.
  • Forgetting to switch elements after B2: B9 is the clearest reminder that projectile state and element state are separate tools. Place one shot, switch, then send the other.
  • Skipping cooking because boosts look temporary: cooking grows with use. Even if a boost feels minor now, Palate progress improves later healing and buff quality.
  • Not checking map layers and markers: some routes, especially to Lumber Corner, Old Kamu Village, South Bend, and off-map peaks, are easier if you follow the marked green path rather than the visual road alone.
  • Trying to out-damage boss mechanics: several bosses are built around stagger, reflected projectiles, or puzzle objects. If your damage suddenly falls off, look for the mechanic rather than grinding levels.
  • Assuming unfinished quests are hidden secrets: at least one named quest, Ronan’s Inn, is marked as unavailable in the current Early Access coverage. Treat it as future content unless an update changes it.

Cleanup Notes

Optional Divine Gates: once you obtain the Fulcrum Mark, revisit gates you passed earlier. They are optional puzzle and chest spaces, so they are better handled after you have the route’s core weapons and a comfortable healing setup.

Hidden rewards: several reward orbs require cliff jumps, high ledges, or returning from another angle. If a jump looks barely impossible, mark it and come back after a nearby route unlocks or after you are more comfortable with sprint jumps and ranged aiming slow-time.

Somu’s Dream: this mode appears near the current Early Access endpoint and is presented as a roguelike-style activity. Cooking progress outside the mode can matter because unlocked dishes feed into the Dream’s random dish pool, though healing stock is adjusted inside the mode.

Cheats and trainers: no cheat tool is required for any route described here. One fetched reference was a trainer promotion page, but its specific cheat claims were not used for this walkthrough. For a stable save, stick to normal game systems, autosaves, and fast travel unless you are intentionally modding on your own risk.
