Rules, hosting, and achievement cleanup guide
The Jackbox Party Pack 11 is not a campaign you finish in order. It is a party toolkit: five short games, each built around phones as controllers, a shared screen, and one very important job for the host: keep the room moving. This guide explains how to set up a smooth session, which game to choose for each group, how to actually win more often, and how to clean up all 20 achievements without turning game night into a spreadsheet.

Quick Setup Before You Start
Jackbox works best when everyone understands the flow before the first room code appears. One device runs the game and shows the main screen. Everyone else joins from a phone, tablet, or computer browser. For local play, make sure the screen is visible from the whole room. For online play, stream the game through a voice-chat app and ask players to mute the stream if they are hearing duplicate audio.
| Host choice | Recommended setting | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| First-time group | Use tutorial prompts and slower pacing when available | Most mistakes happen because players rush the phone interface, not because the rules are hard. |
| Remote group | Keep voice chat active and call out when timers begin | Players lose energy online when silent timers replace table talk. |
| Achievement cleanup | Use the smallest required lobby and extended timers where possible | Several achievements need exact voting, likes, or end-of-round actions. |
| Mixed skill group | Start with Hear Say or Cookie Haus, then move into Suspectives or Legends of Trivia | Creative and audio games warm people up before deduction or trivia pressure. |
Which Game Should You Pick First?
The pack covers five different party moods. Pick the game that matches the people in the room, not the game with the flashiest title screen.
| Game | Players | Best for | Host note |
|---|---|---|---|
| Doominate | 3-8 | Writing jokes, twisting wholesome prompts, fast voting | Great early in the night if your group likes punchlines and improv. |
| Hear Say | 2-8 | Voice acting, sound effects, low-pressure chaos | Best with players who are comfortable making silly noises into a phone. |
| Cookie Haus | 3-8 | Drawing, decoration, reading client preferences | Good for casual groups because it rewards attention more than drawing talent. |
| Suspectives | 4-8 | Social deduction, bluffing, reading friends | Save it for when everyone is warmed up enough to talk. |
| Legends of Trivia | 1-6 | Trivia, teamwork, risk management | The best solo achievement target and the most traditional “try to win” game in the pack. |
Doominate Tips

Doominate is a writing game where a clean, pleasant setup gets twisted into something worse. The strongest answers are not always the most extreme ones. They usually keep the original sentence readable, then add one sharp turn. If the prompt is about a nice vacation, “the hotel has no doors” is funnier than a long paragraph explaining every disaster that could happen.
For normal play, write short. Your answer has to survive a quick voting screen, and players will not study a dense sentence while laughing over voice chat. If you are hosting, remind the room that the best ruin is specific, not just random. A precise bad detail beats a pile of unrelated bad details.
Doominate Achievement Notes
Doominate has four achievements. Ruin For Me and You Only Get One are interface achievements: use the game’s help buttons intentionally. TOTAL TOTAL DOOM DOOM needs at least four players because one player must receive every vote in both head-to-heads in a round. Thanks For Your Opinion is the fussiest one: community testing suggests a larger lobby is safer because the ruined vote must not decide the win. Use a coordinated cleanup lobby rather than trying to force it during a real party.
Hear Say Tips

Hear Say is the sound-effects game. Players record audio from their phones, then the game uses those sounds in short scenes. The winning habit is simple: make sounds that are easy to identify. A clean creak, gasp, splash, honk, or dramatic “no” usually lands better than five seconds of muddled noise.
Online players should check their mic before the first round. Phone cases, earbuds, and room echo can make a funny idea impossible to hear. If someone is shy, give them jobs that are naturally short: footsteps, door knocks, tiny screams, and reaction sounds. The game becomes funnier when each sound has a clear shape.
Hear Say Achievement Notes
Number Go Up is easiest with extended timers, because one player needs to clear 10 reps in an intermission. Everybody Liked That requires all possible players to like the same sound, so warn the lobby before voting ends. Roll Call happens during the soundboard, where you need to play everyone’s sound quickly. Can You Kick It? needs a runner-up video, so use at least three players and split votes so there is a clear second-place clip.
Cookie Haus Tips

Cookie Haus looks like a drawing game, but it quietly tests whether players read the customer request. A messy cookie that follows the brief can beat a prettier cookie that ignores the required shape, color, or ingredient joke. Before drawing, say the customer request out loud. That one host habit prevents half the lobby from missing the point.
When you want to win, make the cookie readable at a glance. Use one strong color idea, one obvious shape, and one gag detail. Overdecorated cookies often lose because nobody can tell what they are supposed to be. In the final redecorate round, remember which earlier cookie won, because one achievement depends on that connection.
Cookie Haus Achievement Notes
Where is the love? asks the room to avoid kudos for the whole game. But How Do They Stick? is a controlled win with sprinkles only. Still the Best is easier if the same player and cookie win earlier, then that player wins again with their own cookie in the final redecorate. A Perfect Day needs every customer to leave happy, so avoid ties and make sure the winning cookie actually fits the request.
Suspectives Tips

Suspectives is the social deduction game. One player is hiding the truth, and the group uses evidence, survey-style information, and interrogations to decide who did it. The easiest way to lose is to treat every clue as literal proof. Evidence narrows the field, but player behavior matters: who dodges a question, who over-explains, and who tries to end discussion too quickly.
As the host, keep interrogations brisk. Let the accused answer, then ask the table what changed. If everyone talks at once, the actual clue gets buried. If nobody talks, the culprit can coast. The sweet spot is short accusations with a reason attached.
Suspectives Achievement Notes
The Suspectives set is easiest with a coordinated four-player lobby. Way Suspicious needs every player to vote “suspicious” on an interrogation. I’ve Heard Enough can pair with that if the group ends the interrogation in under 10 seconds. Well Hello Again requires questioning someone who has already been interrogated, so plan for enough rounds to circle back. Open and Shut is the precision achievement: catch the criminal with the minimum evidence. It is much easier when everyone knows who the culprit is and agrees not to over-investigate.
Legends Of Trivia Tips

Legends of Trivia works because it adds light adventure pressure to trivia. You are not only answering questions; you are deciding when to protect the team, when to push for score, and when to spend resources. If your group is weak at trivia, treat it like survival first. A saved team can still score later. A wiped team cannot.
Solo play is useful for learning the modes and cleaning up achievements. When chasing a high team score, keep mistakes low, buy defensive help when the shop offers it, and avoid gambling when you are already ahead. Community notes report that the Legendary score target may vary by mode or setup, so do not treat any single number as a universal threshold. Aim for clean runs instead.
Achievement Cleanup Route
There are 20 achievements total, confirmed by the public Steam achievements page and TrueAchievements. None are permanent missables because each game can be replayed from the menu. The fastest route is to clear solo Legends of Trivia first, then use a small controlled group for Hear Say and Cookie Haus, and finish with the more coordination-heavy Suspectives and Doominate targets.
| Game | Achievements | Cleanup advice |
|---|---|---|
| Doominate | Ruin For Me, You Only Get One, TOTAL TOTAL DOOM DOOM, Thanks For Your Opinion | Use a planned lobby. The all-votes achievement needs 4+ players; the ruined-vote loss is safer with a larger group. |
| Hear Say | Number Go Up, Everybody Liked That, Roll Call, Can You Kick It? | Turn on longer timers if available. Tell the group when to like, replay, or split votes before the round begins. |
| Cookie Haus | Where is the love?, But How Do They Stick?, Still the Best, A Perfect Day | Control kudos, toppings, and winners. The perfect-day run is easiest when everyone follows customer requests and avoids ties. |
| Suspectives | Open and Shut, Way Suspicious, I’ve Heard Enough, Well Hello Again | Use four players for a clean setup. Coordinate the suspicious vote and quick interrogation before cleanup starts. |
| Legends of Trivia | Ogre the Hill, You’re the Bomb, Summit Up, Legendary | Complete all three modes, then replay the mode you score best in for Legendary. |
Common Mistakes
- Starting with the wrong game. A shy group may freeze in Doominate or Suspectives. Warm them up with Hear Say or Cookie Haus first.
- Overexplaining rules. Give the goal, the input method, and the voting rule. Let the tutorial handle the rest.
- Ignoring timers online. Stream delay and voice-chat lag make short timers feel harsher. Call out when players need to look at their phones.
- Trying achievement setups during a normal party. Many achievements require coordinated voting or restrained actions. Save those for cleanup.
- Making answers too long. In writing, audio, and drawing games, the room usually rewards clarity first.
Best Overall Plan
For a normal party night, start with Hear Say, move to Cookie Haus, then pick Doominate if the room wants writing or Suspectives if the room wants arguing. End with Legends of Trivia when players want something more cooperative and score-driven.
For achievement cleanup, start with Legends of Trivia because it can be practiced solo. Then clear Hear Say and Cookie Haus in small lobbies, where you can control likes, kudos, sounds, and winners. Save Suspectives and Doominate for last because their trickier achievements depend on exact group behavior.
