Untitled Goose Game Walkthrough: Complete To-Do Lists, Hidden Tasks, and 100% Cleanup

Official Untitled Goose Game screenshot showing the goose carrying a radio while the groundskeeper follows in the garden

Untitled Goose Game is a small puzzle-stealth game with a very simple promise: you are a goose, everyone else is trying to have a normal day, and your notebook keeps asking you to make that impossible. The game is short, but a full clear is not just a straight line through the village. Each area has a main To-Do list, each list hides one final progression task, the credits unlock extra To-Do (As Well) objectives, and the hardest achievements ask you to repeat four areas before the church bells ring.

This guide is built for players who want a clean, practical 100% route without turning the game into a joyless checklist. It covers every main area, the Model Village and golden bell return, the hidden tasks tied to achievements, and the post-game Quickly runs. It also points out where the puzzle logic is flexible, because Untitled Goose Game often lets you solve the same problem in more than one way.

The garden teaches the whole game in miniature: distract someone, steal the useful thing, move it before they take it back, then use the mess to open the next path. (Official Steam screenshot.)

Fast answer: clear the Garden, High Street, Back Gardens, Pub, then the Model Village. After credits, return for the To-Do (As Well) tasks and the four To-Do (Quickly!!) challenges. Nothing important is permanently missable, but the timed challenges are much easier after you understand every resident’s routine.

Before You Start: How Progression Works

Each full area gives you a To-Do list. You normally complete most of that list first; then the area adds a final task that opens the route forward. You do not need to solve everything in the most elegant order, but you do need to understand three rules:

  • Residents reset their property. If a person sees an item where it does not belong, they will often carry it back. Hide important objects, move them while the owner is distracted, or drag the target container away first.
  • Honk is a tool, not just a joke. Honking can startle a throw, send the boy running, pull a guard off his post, interrupt a hammer swing, or summon attention to an object you need moved.
  • Reset starts the Quickly timer. The post-game speed tasks begin cleanly when you reset an area. The strongest readable sources point to a six-minute church-bell window, so route these as six-minute runs even if a community note describes it more loosely.

The game also supports local/shared-screen co-op on modern versions. Two geese can make hauling items and distracting villagers easier, especially for the timed achievements, but every route below works solo.

Main Walkthrough Route

Use this table as the safe order for a first full clear. The notes below it explain the actual puzzle steps.

Area Goal Do First Common Mistake
Garden Bother the groundskeeper until he opens the gate to High Street. Open the gate, steal keys, set up picnic items. Moving the radio too early and letting him clean up the picnic.
High Street Use the boy, shopkeeper, and TV shop owner against each other. Trap the boy in the phone booth, then use the TV shop opening. Leaving the shopping basket where the shopkeeper can see it.
Back Gardens Make the two neighbors argue until the final exit opens. Create routes through the fence and drawer shortcut. Honking at the wrong time and pulling both residents toward your hidden items.
Pub Sneak past the burly man, clear the pub tasks, and reach the Model Village. Use the delivery box or distract the guard after the main game is open. Breaking the pint glass before it reaches the canal.
Model Village Steal the miniature golden bell and carry it home. Open any shortcuts you can before the final return. Running with the bell when a resident is close enough to hear and intercept you.

Garden Walkthrough

The Garden is your tutorial, but it already teaches the game’s most important rhythm: make the groundskeeper look at one problem while you quietly create another.

Get into the garden, get him wet, and steal the keys

Grab the radio near the bags and the groundskeeper will come out to investigate, opening the gate. You can also use the sprinkler or the hole in the hedge, but the radio is the cleanest first route because it gives you his attention immediately. While he is dealing with the noise, slip in and start learning the layout.

For the keys, wait until he bends over or carries something with both hands, then grab the keyring from his side. Hold it long enough for the task to register. For the wet task, either lure him near the sprinkler and turn it on, or make him chase an object into the lake.

Make him wear the sun hat

Steal his normal cap when he bends down to replant the tulip or tend the garden. Do not just drop it in the open. Hide it in the bushes or drag it far enough away that he cannot easily recover it. When he gives up, he puts on the sun hat.

Rake in the lake

The rake is slow, loud, and easy for the groundskeeper to notice. Distract him with the tulip, a moved cooler, or some other stolen item, then drag the rake along the right side of the garden and out toward the lake. Once the rake touches the water, the task completes.

Have a picnic

The picnic blanket needs the basket, both sandwich halves, apple, carrot, pumpkin, jam, thermos, and radio. Move the quiet bench items first, then the garden items, and save the radio for last because it calls attention to itself. If the groundskeeper starts carrying picnic items back, create a small distraction in the garden so he changes priorities.

Final Garden task: make him hammer his thumb

After enough Garden tasks are finished, he tries to hammer in a No Geese sign. Stand close but not directly in his way. Honk just as he raises the hammer for the strike. If you miss the timing, pull the sign back out and make him try again.

High Street Walkthrough

High Street introduces more people and more chain reactions. The boy is afraid of you, the shopkeeper protects her stall, and the TV shop owner only leaves his store when the phone booth incident begins.

High Street works best when you let one animation run while you steal the next object. (Official Steam screenshot.)

Break the broom

Enter the shop area until the shopkeeper tries to shoo you with her broom. Grab the broom head and pull against her. The broom breaks after the tug-of-war.

Trap the boy in the phone booth and get on TV

Honk at the boy and herd him toward the phone booth. Once he locks himself inside, he calls the TV shop owner. As soon as the owner leaves the shop, run in and hit the red switch. The TVs switch to the in-store camera feed, completing Get on TV.

Make the boy wear the wrong glasses

Take a pair of glasses from the shop and leave them near the boy. Untie his shoelaces, honk or move close so he trips, then steal his own glasses while he is bent over. He will search for a replacement and put on the shop glasses if they are nearby.

Make someone buy back their own stuff

For the main High Street task, steal the boy’s toy plane and drop it in the shop display area. When the shopkeeper notices it, she treats it like merchandise. Lure the boy close enough to see the plane and he will be made to buy back his own toy.

Go shopping

Drag the basket away from the shop first. Then fill it with loo paper, hairbrush, tinned food, cleaner, toothbrush, and one fruit or vegetable. Most items are in the shop; the toothbrush comes from the trash can by the house to the right. Keep the basket out of the shopkeeper’s regular view or she will tidy your progress away.

Final High Street task: trap the shopkeeper in the garage

After enough tasks are done, the garage opens. Steal something from the stall, let the shopkeeper chase you inside the garage, drop the item, run out, and pull the hanging rope to close the door. She eventually exits another way, opening the path forward.

Back Gardens Walkthrough

The Back Gardens are about routing between two neighbors. The tidy man throws away anything he thinks belongs next door; the woman keeps repairing and arranging her garden. Your job is to make those instincts collide.

Official Untitled Goose Game screenshot showing the goose moving an item through the Back Gardens while a fake goose statue stands above
The Back Gardens are less about speed at first and more about opening routes between sides. (Official Steam screenshot.)

Open the routes

Untie the yellow ribbon between the two gardens to move through the fence. The woman can tie it back, so also pull out the drawer in her garden to collapse the unit and create a better shortcut back to the man’s side.

Break the fancy vase

Carry the purple vase from the woman’s garden to the man’s side. When he sees it, he throws it back over the fence, where it breaks.

Dress the bust

Steal the man’s hat, glasses, and pipe from his table and drop them by the bust in the woman’s garden. She will place the items on it. If the man is reading or drinking tea, he is easier to rob without a chase.

Make the man spit out his tea

Wait for the man to sip tea, then ring the big bell in the woman’s garden. If he is stuck reading, steal his newspaper to move his routine forward.

Get dressed up with a ribbon

Remove the ribbon from the fake goose statue and hide the statue where the woman cannot see it. Stand in the statue’s place and stay still. When she returns, she puts the ribbon on you. Do not honk or fidget while she is inspecting the scene.

Make the man go barefoot

Steal one slipper while he reads. Steal the other while he drinks tea. If you need to control his routine, move his newspaper or make noise elsewhere so he changes activity.

Do the washing

Put the woman’s bra, socks, soap, and one of the man’s slippers into the fountain on the man’s side. The challenge is not finding the items; it is moving them without pulling both neighbors down to the same corner.

Final Back Gardens task: prune the prize rose

Once the rose sign is gone, drag the rose planter to the end of the bed so it lines up near the woman’s topiary. Peck at her topiary until she comes to trim it. When she cuts, she clips the rose by accident, starting the argument that opens the next route.

Pub Walkthrough

The Pub is the busiest normal area. The burly man throws you out if he spots you, the pub workers clean up your progress, and several tasks require carrying fragile or slow objects out of watched spaces.

The Pub rewards hiding under tables and taking indirect routes. A straight sprint usually ends with the goose thrown outside. (Official Steam screenshot.)

Get into the pub

The normal first entry is the delivery box near the van. Climb in while nobody is watching and wait for the delivery worker to carry you inside. After the main game opens more shortcuts, you can also bait the burly man away with the No Geese sign, but the box route is safest for a first clear.

Break the dartboard

Wait for the old man to aim a dart. Honk during his throwing motion so the dart hits badly and the board falls.

Get the toy boat

The toy boat is in the sink. Turn on the tap and keep the pub worker distracted until the sink fills. Once the boat rises high enough, grab it and leave before the tap is turned off.

Make the old man fall on his bum

Move his harmonica or otherwise make him stand up, then pull the stool away as he sits down. Pull early and keep moving; waiting until the final instant often makes him notice you.

Be awarded a flower

Step onto the small performance platform near the two seated women. Follow their prompts: honk, bow, then flap. They reward you with a daisy.

Steal a pint glass and drop it in the canal

Open the gate across from the pub first so the canal route is ready. Carry a pint glass carefully; it breaks if dropped on hard ground. Hide under the stairs near the burly man, honk to draw him away, then leave with the glass and drop it into the canal.

Set the table

The table is the wooden spool/tablecloth setup in the back. Bring a plate, knife, fork, pepper, and candle. Use the back-room plate if possible, because taking a patio plate creates more attention than it is worth.

Final Pub task: drop a bucket on the burly man’s head

Scatter tomatoes in the back storage area, then lure the burly man there. When he bends to pick them up, go above him and knock the bucket down. This opens the path to the Model Village.

Model Village and Golden Bell Return

The Model Village is a compact recap of the map. Follow the stream and miniature paths until you reach the castle. Peck and pull at the tower until it collapses, then take the golden bell.

The trip home is the last practical test. The bell rings when you run, and residents now watch for you. If someone catches you, they usually place the bell somewhere in their own area rather than sending it all the way back, so recover calmly.

  1. Pub: use the under-stair paths and pull the burly man away with sound before crossing the road.
  2. Back Gardens: hide the bell, reopen the drawer/fence route, then move through when the neighbors are distracted.
  3. High Street: use tables and shop cover to draw the patrolling adults to one side, then leave through the opposite path. Honk at the boy if he blocks you.
  4. Garden: ring the bell from cover so the groundskeeper moves, then slip around him and reach the lake.
  5. Home: swim back to the starting area and drop the bell into the collection pit.

Hidden Tasks and Achievement Cleanup

After the credits, the extra To-Do (As Well) list becomes visible. Many of these can be done earlier, but cleaning them up after the main game is simpler because the map is open.

Achievement / Task Where Clean Method
Nasty – lock the groundskeeper out Garden Bring him outside with the tap or an item, close the gate, then run off with his keys until he gives up.
Yummy – cabbage picnic Garden Roll a cabbage from the patch to the picnic blanket. Use the hedge hole and be patient; the cabbage handles badly on slopes.
Ghastly – trip the boy in the puddle High Street Untie his shoelaces near the puddle, then honk so he runs and falls.
Noisy – make the shop scales go ding High Street Pile several items on the scales. Add your own weight by ducking onto them if the needle is close.
Unlucky – open an umbrella in the TV shop High Street Drag a closed umbrella to the TV shop while the owner is outside, then pull it open inside.
Devious – outside item buyback Garden/High Street Put the groundskeeper’s trowel/spade in the shop, then lure him to the stall so he buys it back.
Dreadful – trap the boy in the garage High Street Honk him into the garage or lure him with the plane, then pull the rope.
Careful – catch a thrown object Back Gardens Let the man throw a woman’s item back over the fence and grab it before it lands. Soap or a small garden item is easier than the vase.
Pretty – outside items on the bust Back Gardens Dress the bust with items from outside the Back Gardens, such as shop glasses, a toothbrush or harmonica, and a hat from another area.
Nimble – score a goal High Street to Back Gardens Push the football from High Street into the Back Gardens and into the goal beyond the woman’s side. This is slow; use pecking to free it from corners.
Intrepid – get thrown over the fence Pub to Back Gardens Drag a delivery box to the man’s garden, climb inside, honk, and wait until he throws the box over.
Lovely – sail the toy boat under a bridge Pub/canal After stealing the toy boat, drop it north of the canal bridge so the current carries it underneath.
Elegant – perform with a ribbon Back Gardens to Pub Get the red ribbon, leave through the safer front route, and perform for the two pub women without passing through the bush that removes it.
Cheeky – steal the old man’s woolen hat Pub Make him fall from the stool, then grab the hat while he is down.
Beautiful – collect five flowers All areas Put the tulip, High Street lily, clipped rose, pub daisy, and Model Village chrysanthemum in the basket near the well.

Quickly Challenges: Before the Church Bells Ring

The four timed achievements are The Garden, Quickly; The High Street, Quickly; The Back Gardens, Quickly; and The Pub, Quickly. The game expects you to reset the area and complete the normal To-Do list again before the bells. You do not need the hidden To-Do (As Well) tasks for these.

Garden Quickly route

Start with the picnic in mind. Move the bench items first, use the radio to pull the groundskeeper out, and try to combine wet/keys/entry while he is already reacting. Use the tulip to make him bend down for the hat, then take the rake while he is fixing another problem. The pumpkin and rake are the slowest objects, so never leave both for the final minute.

High Street Quickly route

Open with the boy: phone booth, TV shop, toy plane buyback. While the TV owner and shopkeeper are busy, steal glasses and shopping items. Drag the shopping basket out of sight early. Finish by locking the shopkeeper in the garage, because that naturally removes her from the stall while you clean up any missing shopping item.

Back Gardens Quickly route

This is the most routine-dependent timed area. Get one slipper early while the man reads. Move the vase, washing items, and bust accessories while the woman is busy or while the central route is open. Do not honk while posing for the ribbon if the man is near your fountain pile; you can accidentally pull him toward the evidence and lose time.

Pub Quickly route

After the main game, skip the slow delivery-box entry if you can safely bait the burly man away with the No Geese sign. Set the table in batches, use the back-room plate, and leave the pint-glass canal task late because it naturally takes you out of the pub. The bucket finale is faster if the tomatoes are already scattered before you lure the burly man back.

Achievement Order for a Low-Stress 100%

  1. Finish the main game once. This gives you all main area completion achievements plus Thank you for playing our videogame.
  2. Open the map shortcuts around the well and clean the hidden tasks by area.
  3. Do the multi-area tasks while the world is open: five flowers, football goal, ribbon performance, outside bust outfit, thrown-over-fence box.
  4. Attempt the four Quickly runs last. Reset only the target area, route it as a six-minute run, and repeat freely if the bell rings.
  5. After every other achievement is done, claim A Secret Prize. Community guides identify this as the crown reward; bring it to a resident who can place it on you.

If you want to compare movement timing visually, the user-submitted reference video below was confirmed through YouTube oEmbed as Untitled Goose Game – Full Game 100% Longplay Walkthrough 4K 60FPS by LizAndErikSeries. It is relevant as a full-run visual reference, but the written route above is designed so you do not need to follow a video second by second.

Common Problems

The resident keeps taking my item back

Hide the destination first. For example, drag the shopping basket away from the stall, put picnic objects on the blanket only when the groundskeeper is distracted, and move Back Gardens items through the lower route before honking at either neighbor.

The Quickly bell rings before I finish

Reset the area, then practice only the two slowest object moves. In the Garden, that usually means pumpkin/rake. In High Street, it is shopping. In Back Gardens, it is washing and ribbon timing. In the Pub, it is table setup and canal glass.

I cannot get the ribbon to stay on

After the woman puts it on you, avoid routes that brush it off. For the pub performance hidden task, leave the Back Gardens through the front/main route rather than the side route with the bush.

The golden bell keeps getting confiscated

Walk near residents and run only when you already have a safe gap. If caught, watch where the resident places the bell and recover it from that area. You rarely lose all progress.
