The Jackbox Party Pack 10 Guide: Rules, Hosting Tips, and Achievements

The Jackbox Party Pack 10 is best treated as two different tasks: first, run a clean party where five very different games make sense to the room; then, if you care about completion, clean up the 20 Steam achievements with a controlled group. This guide covers both sides. It explains how to host the pack without losing players between games, what each game is really asking players to do, and how to approach every achievement without turning the night into a spreadsheet session.

The pack includes Tee K.O. 2, FixyText, Dodo Re Mi, Timejinx, and Hypnotorious. Official Jackbox pages list the games as a mix of drawing, writing, music, trivia, and deception, with player counts ranging from solo-friendly games to four-player minimum social deduction. That variety is the point, but it also means the host should not run the pack in menu order for every group. Start with the game that fits the room, then move toward the achievements or harder social reads once people are warmed up.

Tee K.O. 2 is the easiest opener for a loud room: everyone draws, writes, votes, and understands the joke almost immediately.

Best Setup Before You Start

Only the host needs to own and run the game. Everyone else joins from a phone, tablet, or browser by going to jackbox.tv and entering the room code on the host screen. For local play, make sure the host screen is visible to the room. For remote play, share the host screen through Discord, Zoom, Steam Remote Play Together, or another low-lag screen-share tool, and tell players to keep their controller device separate from the video call if possible.

For a normal party, use real players and leave achievement cleanup for later. For completion cleanup, use a controlled setup: several devices, several browsers, private windows, or separate browser profiles. The achievement list has several tasks that are much easier when you can decide who votes, who ties, and who intentionally makes the wrong call.

Game Official Type Players Usual Length Best Use
Tee K.O. 2 Drawing 3-8 20 minutes Best opener for creative groups and easy voting achievements.
FixyText Writing 3-8 15 minutes Best for fast chaos, word edits, and controlled voting tasks.
Dodo Re Mi Music 1-9 5 minutes per song Best as a breather, a remote audio test, or solo achievement cleanup.
Timejinx Trivia 1-8 20 minutes Best for trivia players and exact-answer achievements.
Hypnotorious Deception 4-8 20 minutes Best after the room is comfortable talking through clues.

If you are hosting for mixed experience levels, do not start with the game that needs the most explanation. A smooth order is Tee K.O. 2, then FixyText, then Timejinx, then Dodo Re Mi, and finally Hypnotorious. Tee K.O. 2 teaches the room how to submit and vote. FixyText adds real-time chaos but keeps the goal obvious. Timejinx slows the pace into trivia. Dodo Re Mi resets the energy with a shorter music game. Hypnotorious works best once people are willing to explain their reasoning out loud.

For achievement cleanup, use a different order. Start with Timejinx and Dodo Re Mi because both have solo-friendly tasks. Then move to FixyText and Tee K.O. 2 with three or four controlled players. Save Hypnotorious for last because it has the strictest player-count requirement and needs the group to understand the outlier logic.

Tee K.O. 2 Strategy And Achievements

Tee K.O. 2 is a drawing-and-writing tournament. Players make drawings and slogans, combine them into garments, vote in head-to-head battles, and finish with a frantic final round. The trick is that the strongest shirt is not always the best drawing. It is usually the clearest joke: a readable picture, a short slogan, and a combination that makes sense before the voting timer runs out.

When playing normally, make your slogans short enough to read at a glance. When cleaning up achievements, decide before the game which player is supposed to win, which garment type should reach the final, and whether the room is trying to create ties. Random party voting makes the Tee K.O. 2 achievements annoying; controlled voting makes them straightforward.

Achievement Verified Trigger Cleanup Tip
Life’s A Beach Win the final round with a tank top. Have the planned winner choose tank tops whenever garment selection appears, then vote that tank top through to the final.
Dragon’s Favorite Win all rounds. Feed the same player the strongest drawing/slogan combinations and have the other players vote consistently for that player’s garment.
Domino Win two ties during a single game. Use three or more players. Split votes evenly between two garments and let the tie-break result decide; repeat until the same player wins two tied battles.
I Wasn’t Supposed To Be Here Receive no votes during the final round. Let one final-round garment receive all final votes while the other finalist receives none.

FixyText Strategy And Achievements

FixyText is a group-chat writing game. Each team edits one shared text field at the same time, with no backspace or delete. Officially, the conversation categories are Flirty, Serious Business, Friends & Fam, and Unknown Number. The game rewards words that stand out, but it also rewards players who cooperate just enough to create a single funny phrase instead of eight people fighting over the same sentence.

For normal play, the strongest FixyText habit is to build around one visible anchor word. If someone types a promising word, extend it, frame it, or make it weirder. If everyone starts a different joke, the final message becomes unreadable and votes scatter. For achievements, controlled voting matters more than comedy.

FixyText looks chaotic, but its achievements are mostly about edited words, boosted votes, and playing all four conversation categories.
Achievement Verified Trigger Cleanup Tip
Co-author Get a vote for an edited word started by another player. Have Player A type a simple word, Player B add letters to that same word, and a voter select the edited result.
Pump It Up Boost a vote by selecting a word twice. During voting, choose the same eligible word twice so the vote is boosted instead of spread across multiple words.
Bestseller Get a vote on one word from all voting players. Use at least four players so there are enough voters who did not author the target word, then have every eligible voter choose it.
Chatterbox Play a game in each of the four conversation categories. Run one game or qualifying round in Flirty, Serious Business, Friends & Fam, and Unknown Number. Track the categories as you go.

Dodo Re Mi Strategy And Achievements

Dodo Re Mi is the oddball of the pack in the best way. Your phone becomes your instrument, each song has multiple beatmaps, and players can join or drop out between songs. Official pages note that the game has a sync moment before a song, can be played locally or over streaming, and includes over 200 beatmaps across more than 100 instruments. That means achievement cleanup should be patient: pick easier instruments, check sync, and do not assume a song has to be perfect unless the achievement says so.

For remote play, Dodo Re Mi lives or dies on audio latency. Have players listen to the host stream and their controller carefully during the sync step. If the room is struggling, choose easier instruments, reduce background call noise, and treat the first song as a calibration run.

Dodo Re Mi is short, flexible, and good for cleanup, but sync and instrument choice matter more than in the other games.
Achievement Verified Trigger Cleanup Tip
Beginner’s Pluck Survive the tutorial song. Play the tutorial from start to finish and focus on survival, not score. If the final section trips you up, repeat with better sync and calmer inputs.
Paper Bladder Pause at least twice while playing a song. Pause from the host game, resume, let the game resync, then pause and resume again before finishing the song.
It’s About Family Play all saxophone instruments at least once. Make a checklist of saxophone or sax-family instruments as they unlock. If progress feels stuck, play newly unlocked songs and instruments once instead of repeating the same sax.
Noonlight Sonata Play Moonlight Sonata between 12:00 pm and 12:59 pm. Make sure Moonlight Sonata is available, then play it during the local noon hour. The official Dodo Re Mi page notes an unlock-everything toggle, but if an achievement does not trigger with that setting, unlock the song through normal play and retry.

The TrueAchievements page supplied for Beginner’s Pluck could not be read because it returned a 403 Cloudflare/captcha page during capture. The trigger above is therefore based on Steam’s public achievement text, with community notes used only as cautious context.

Timejinx Strategy And Achievements

Timejinx is a trivia game where players travel to years, and being far from the correct year is bad. The host page describes side missions that can reduce your score, including decade parties, time loops, historical imposters, alternate-timeline locations, and butterfly-effect fixes. For normal play, the best habit is not to chase the exact date unless you know it. Get close, then use side missions to limit damage.

For achievements, Timejinx is the friendliest game in the pack because several tasks can be done solo or with two controlled players. Keep a note beside you for repeat inputs, especially the 1984 achievement, because not every prompt accepts every year range.

Official The Jackbox Party Pack 10 screenshot showing a Timejinx trivia prompt
Timejinx achievement cleanup is mostly about exact answers, matching another player, and repeating one special year when the prompt allows it.
Achievement Verified Trigger Cleanup Tip
The Perfect Date Travel to the exact year. Use a prompt you know confidently, or pause long enough to agree on the exact year before submitting.
Timejinx Jinx with another player. With two players, have both submit the same year on the same prompt.
The Perfect Guest Get all three questions correct in Time Hopping. Slow down for the Time Hopping side mission and answer all three multiple-choice questions correctly in one visit.
Did You Even Read the Book?! Guess 1984 on three separate prompts. Enter 1984 whenever the allowed year range includes it. Track the count and do not waste attempts on prompts that reject that year.

Hypnotorious Strategy And Achievements

Hypnotorious is the most social game in the pack. Each player receives a hidden identity, answers questions as that identity, and then the group tries to sort everyone into secret categories. One player is The Outlier, a category of one. The important twist is that even the Outlier does not know at first, so the game rewards careful listening more than loud accusation.

When playing for fun, answer in a way that gives useful clues but does not reveal everything instantly. If your identity is a snowman, for example, an answer about melting, winter, or carrots is useful. If your answer could apply to half the room, you make the final grouping harder for everyone. When playing for achievements, four controlled players are enough, but every player needs to know whether the goal is a unanimous correct vote or a deliberately isolated outlier vote.

Hypnotorious achievements become much easier when the table separates two tasks: finding the correct groups and deciding exactly who votes for the Outlier.
Achievement Verified Trigger Cleanup Tip
Brainiacs Get your group 100% correct. Use four players, talk through every answer, and place each player into the correct group before final scoring.
Masterminds Unanimously find The Outlier. Once the Outlier is clear, have every voting player choose the same Outlier in the final accusation.
Self Aware Correctly identify yourself as The Outlier. If you are the Outlier, vote for yourself during the final accusation.
Galaxy Brain Be the only person to correctly identify yourself as The Outlier. Have the Outlier vote for themselves while every other player intentionally votes wrong. This is easier after the table already understands the correct answer.

Fast 100% Cleanup Route

The cleanest completion route is to separate party play from achievement play. You can enjoy the pack normally first, then return with controlled players for the tasks that require exact votes, ties, or wrong guesses.

  1. Run Timejinx first. Get The Perfect Date, Timejinx, The Perfect Guest, and begin the 1984 count when eligible prompts appear.
  2. Clear Dodo Re Mi solo-friendly tasks. Survive the tutorial, pause twice in a song, then work through sax instruments and the noon-hour Moonlight Sonata requirement.
  3. Use three or four players for FixyText. Do Co-author and Pump It Up first, then use four players for Bestseller and rotate through all four conversation categories for Chatterbox.
  4. Use three players for Tee K.O. 2 ties. Aim for tank-top final wins and a planned winner, then create tied battles until Domino triggers.
  5. Finish with four-player Hypnotorious. Do Brainiacs, Masterminds, and Self Aware in a clean correct run, then set up Galaxy Brain by having only the Outlier vote correctly.

Common Mistakes

Starting Hypnotorious with a distracted room. It needs attention and discussion. If people are still joining calls or grabbing drinks, start with Tee K.O. 2 or Dodo Re Mi instead.

Trying to unlock everything during a real party. The achievements that need controlled votes can make a party awkward. Do them later with a small group or extra devices.

Ignoring player minimums. Hypnotorious needs four players, and some FixyText cleanup is much easier with four because authors usually cannot vote on their own target word.

Repeating Dodo Re Mi attempts without checking sync. If the tutorial or a song feels unfair, resync, lower the difficulty by choosing a simpler instrument, and retry before assuming the achievement is broken.

Taking community guides as official. One supplied Steam achievement guide was readable, but Steam displayed removed/incompatible warnings on the page. It is useful as community context, not as a replacement for Steam achievement text or official Jackbox rules.

Sources And Credits

Game metadata, screenshots, categories, and achievement names were checked against the official Steam page, Steam public achievements, and the official Jackbox Games page. Community achievement references were used cautiously for cleanup planning where they matched the verified achievement list.
