Pragmata Walkthrough: Sector Route, Collectibles, Endings, and Trophy Cleanup

Official Pragmata screenshot showing Hugh and Diana inside the lunar facility

Pragmata is a linear sci-fi action adventure with a surprisingly demanding completion layer. The critical path is easy to follow if you keep moving from tram stop to tram stop, but the game becomes much cleaner when you understand how Hugh’s weapons, Diana’s hacking, the Shelter, Red Zones, unlockable traversal abilities, and post-game cleanup all fit together. This walkthrough gives you a practical route through every Sector, the upgrades worth prioritizing, the points where you should backtrack, and a safe plan for collectibles, endings, and trophy cleanup.

Spoiler warning: this guide names all main Sectors, bosses, late-game abilities, post-game requirements, and ending structure. It avoids story-scene detail where possible, but it is written for players who want a reliable route through the campaign and toward 100% completion.

Pragmata is built around the partnership between Hugh and Diana: shoot, hack, reposition, and use the Shelter between pushes.

Best Route and What To Do First

The main story is organized into a prologue, the Shelter hub, six numbered Sectors, and a short epilogue. The game usually points you to the next objective, so the main danger is not getting lost forever; it is leaving too many upgrades, fast-travel points, and Diana interactions behind. Treat every tram stop as a chance to spend resources, talk to Diana, turn in REMs, check the Unit Printer, review your loadout, and save before moving into the next major block.

Order Area Main Goal Do Before Leaving
1 Prologue and The Shelter Meet Diana, reach the hub, learn shooting, hacking, repair, and tram travel. Talk to Diana as soon as the Shelter allows it. This starts the habit that prevents missed bond rewards later.
2 Sector 01: Solar Power Plant Restore power, clear Generator Entrance, Power Distribution Center, and The Concourse, then defeat SectorGuard. Open every visible Safe Box you can, unlock every Escape Hatch, and note blue filament barriers for later Lim Eraser cleanup.
3 Sector 02: Mass Production Array Reach the Comms Tower through the Test Site, Shopping District, Side Alley, Business District, and Lim Recycling Facility. Get comfortable with beacon routing, Red Zones, Lim Recyclers, and the Lim Eraser. Deal with Sweeper bots if you see one.
4 Sector 03: Terra Dome Repair the dome systems, help Eight, climb through the lab chain, and clear Terrarium. Unlock Object Scan as soon as the Shelter level allows it. It makes collectible cleanup dramatically less painful.
5 Sector 04: Lunum Mines Reboot IDUS routes, move through mining rigs, warehouse routes, excavation puzzles, and Nexus Tower. Do not simply flee from LunaDigger ambushes if you want the combat achievement for repelling it during the mines.
6 Sector 05: Experimental Pragmatics Recover Diana, get through the energy reactor sequence, and unlock Cleanse. Understand that there are no normal collectibles here and fast travel back is limited after leaving.
7 Sector 06: Central Port Push through Port Entrance, Research Sector, Regolith Lab, Lunafilament Lab, and Orbital Elevator. Use Cleanse on red filament routes and prepare for the late boss chain before committing to the ending.
8 Post-game Use Unknown Signal for true ending cleanup, simulations, enhanced bosses, and 100% completion work. Keep a completed save, then decide whether you are doing Unknown Signal, New Game+, or a fresh Lunatic run next.

How Combat Really Works

Pragmata looks like a third-person shooter, but raw gunfire is intentionally weak until Diana opens enemies up. The standard rhythm is: aim at a bot, start Diana’s hack grid, draw a path to the green endpoint, pass through useful tiles when safe, then use the OPEN window to spend your strongest weapon shots. If you fire before hacking, fights drag. If you hack and then hesitate, the OPEN window expires before your best damage lands.

Hack Grid Priorities

The cleanest hack is not always the shortest hack. Green ends the hack. Blue tiles usually improve the result, such as extending OPEN time or increasing hack damage. Purple tiles enable Critical Shot opportunities. Yellow tiles spend module charges for effects such as Decode, Multihack, Freeze, Confuse, Expose, Heat, Drain, or Chain. White warning tiles are obstacles, red warning tiles punish your route, and corrupted/static tiles slow Diana down until Cleanse becomes part of your toolkit.

For normal enemies, prioritize a route that opens the target quickly and gives enough OPEN duration to finish it. For elites and bosses, you can afford a slightly longer path if it gives you damage, Critical Shot setup, or a module effect that makes the next burst safer. The mistake most new players make is treating hacking like a side activity. It is your damage multiplier, crowd control, and boss weak-point opener all at once.

Weapon Slots and Loadout Logic

Hugh can use four weapon categories. Your Primary Unit is the dependable infinite-ammo slot, while Attack, Tactical, and Defense units are limited-use tools that are refreshed or replaced through pickups, the Shelter, and tram loadout options. Use the Primary Unit to keep pressure on OPEN targets, but save stronger weapons for hacked enemies, boss weak spots, and clustered targets. Shotguns, rail-style weapons, traps, grenades, shields, decoys, and other specialized units are at their best when the encounter has already been shaped by Diana’s hack.

When returning to the field from the Shelter, check the tram terminal instead of accepting the previous loadout by habit. If a route is full of shields, crowding enemies, or red filament, swap in tools that answer that problem. The same is true before Training Simulations and Red Zones: a loadout that feels perfect for exploration may be mediocre inside a challenge arena.

Healing, Checkpoints, and Death

Repair Canisters are limited and refill when you return to the Shelter. You do not have passive healing between fights, so Storage Expanders and Cartridge Holders matter more than they look on paper. Escape Hatches are your checkpoints and return points; unlock every one you find. The game does not ask you to replay huge stretches every time you rest, so use Hatches freely when your inventory is full of upgrade materials or your healing is low.

Open the target first, then spend your best shots. Unhacked enemies soak damage and waste limited weapons.

The Shelter Upgrade Loop

The Shelter is not a menu break; it is Pragmata’s long-term progression system. Return often and do five things before leaving: talk to Diana, hand over Read Earth Memories, spend upgrade currencies, print new tools, and check Cabin’s systems. Shelter levels unlock after story progress, and each level can open new Unit Printer options, Training Simulations, Stamp Boards, and quality-of-life upgrades.

System Why It Matters Priority
Firmware Updater Improves Hugh’s suit, Primary Unit, and Diana’s hacking power. Health and durability first, then Diana’s hack damage and OPEN duration, then weapon handling/damage.
Unit Printer Prints weapons, hacking nodes, abilities, attachments, and upgrades. Craft new options whenever they appear if you are chasing Can’t Stop, Won’t Stop.
REM Replicator Turns Read Earth Memories into Diana scenes, Shelter decorations, and Cabin Coins. Give REMs to Diana between Sectors. Do not hoard them until the end.
Cabin Stamp Club Uses Cabin Coins on bingo-style boards for mods, outfits, equipment, and unlocks. Spend steadily, then complete one board for Blackout! and all useful boards before post-game.
Training Simulations Teach weapon and hacking setups while rewarding materials and completion progress. Do main objectives as they unlock. Side goals are useful practice but not required for every trophy.

Prologue and First Shelter Visit

The prologue teaches the essential partnership: Hugh moves, aims, and survives; Diana hacks, opens enemies, and manipulates systems. Do not try to play the opening as a pure cover shooter. Practice starting a hack quickly, routing through bonus tiles only when the path is safe, and firing during the OPEN window. If a fight feels too slow, your issue is usually hack timing, not gun choice.

Once you reach the Shelter, slow down. Talk to Diana before rushing to the next objective. Check the early hub systems, learn where the tram terminal is, and get used to the idea that the Shelter is where your route resets between major pushes. From this point forward, every return should include upgrades, conversations, and a scan of newly unlocked options.

Sector 01: Solar Power Plant

Sector 01 covers Generator Entrance, Power Distribution Center, and The Concourse. Your story job is to restore power to the lunar base, restart the main terminal, climb through the facility, and beat SectorGuard before returning to the Shelter. The sector is also the first place where you see how Pragmata handles locked collectibles. Some Safe Boxes and routes are blocked by blue lunafilament that cannot be cleared until you unlock the Lim Eraser in Sector 02, so do not spend half an hour trying to brute force them.

Play this Sector as a fundamentals test. Unlock Escape Hatches, open the accessible Storage Expander and Safe Boxes, and learn how bosses expose weak points after a successful hack. SectorGuard is the first real check: focus on getting a clean OPEN window, unload your highest burst tools while it is vulnerable, then reposition instead of greedily firing through danger. When you return to the Shelter after the boss, check every new printer and Cabin option before entering Sector 02.

Sector 02: Mass Production Array

The Mass Production Array is where Pragmata becomes more systems-heavy. The route runs through Test Site Entrance, Shopping District, Side Alley, Business District, Lim Recycling Facility, and Comms Tower. Your main objective is to reach the tower, deal with a massive gate, hack the required beacons across the area, and defeat the boss officially identified in walkthrough references as Analysis: Creator.

There are two things to learn here. First, the sector is wider than Sector 01, with more Safe Boxes, Mods, Pure Lunum, REMs, and Red Zones. Second, the Lim Recycling Facility teaches environmental kills and the Lim Eraser. The Lim Eraser is not optional for completion planning; it lets Diana remove blue lunafilament barriers that locked earlier rewards. After you get it, expect a small backtracking pass through Solar Power Plant and MPA routes if you are trying to keep sector progress high.

If you see a Sweeper bot in Side Alley or Business District, stop and handle it carefully. It is a small fleeing enemy tied to a risky achievement. Use Stasis Net, Overdrive Protocol, or any reliable immobilizing setup you have. If you are on PC or a platform with manual saves, make a backup before engaging one. Most other cleanup can be repaired post-game, but Sweeper spawns are the one area where multiple sources warn players not to be careless.

Sector 03: Terra Dome

Terra Dome moves from city-shaped spaces into artificial nature and lab routing. The main path includes Dome Entrance, Plant Factory, Eco Modeling Lab, Center Hall – Upper Floor, Soil Research, and Terrarium. You will help Eight, reboot lim regulators, restore the central lift, move through the upper and underground lab routes, and defeat the large boss in Terrarium before returning to the Shelter.

This is the point where Object Scan becomes a major priority. Once the Shelter level and Unit Printer allow it, unlock Object Scan if you care about 100% completion. The sector has dense collectible placement, including Safe Boxes, Pure Lunum, Mods, REMs, Training Data, and a Storage Expander in Terrarium. Object Scan does not solve every route puzzle, but it saves you from walking past faintly marked containers and late-game cleanup items.

Terra Dome also has several optional Red Zones. Clear them when your loadout is strong enough because Red Zone rewards feed both upgrades and completion progress. If a Red Zone feels too punishing, unlock the nearby Escape Hatch, return to the Shelter, tune your loadout, and come back. The game is built around that loop.

Every Sector hides completion resources behind combat, traversal, and ability checks. Mark what you cannot reach yet.

Sector 04: Lunum Mines

Lunum Mines is a difficulty jump because it mixes navigation, moving industrial spaces, gravity-style set pieces, and repeated LunaDigger pressure. The route moves through Mine Entrance, Crane Operation Yard, Warehouse, Main Excavation Site, and Nexus Tower. Your goal is to reboot IDUS-related systems, infiltrate the warehouse, survive the mining rig route, pass through the ruins, and push toward the mainframe.

Two cleanup notes matter here. First, there are Storage Expanders, Training Data, Mods, Pure Lunum, and REMs spread through the sector, so do not rush the main marker without checking side paths. Second, the Courage in Desperation achievement/trophy requires you to repel LunaDigger during the mines rather than merely surviving until its dedicated boss fight. When LunaDigger appears in Mine Entrance, Crane Operation Yard, or Main Excavation Site sequences, deal real damage until it retreats.

For combat, favor loadouts that can burst during OPEN windows and handle moving targets. If a room is full of heavy enemies, open one priority target, use Tactical or Attack weapons while the window is active, then move before the field collapses around you. Long fights drain Repair Canisters quickly in this sector, so unlock Hatches and return to the Shelter whenever you are carrying enough materials to buy meaningful upgrades.

Sector 05: Experimental Pragmatics

Experimental Pragmatics is shorter and more story-focused than the major collectible Sectors. You head there after the Lunum Mines chain, deal with Diana’s condition, recover the energy reactor, fend off enemies, protect Diana, and return through red filament routes after unlocking Cleanse. Standard collectible cleanup is not the focus here; major walkthrough references treat this area as having no normal collectibles to sweep in the usual way.

Cleanse changes both exploration and combat. In exploration, it clears red lunafilament obstacles. In combat, it becomes relevant against corrupted enemies and for the achievement/trophy that asks you to cleanse three or more enemies together. Practice the timing while the game is teaching it, because Central Port will ask you to use Cleanse under pressure.

Sector 06: Central Port

Central Port is the final full Sector, covering Port Entrance, Research Sector, Regolith Lab, Lunafilament Lab, and Orbital Elevator. The main route sends you toward Eight, deeper into the port core, through Cleanse-gated filament paths, into two terminal hacks, and then through late boss fights including Sentinel and Eight.

This is the last point where you should decide how much cleanup you want before credits. If you only want the ending, spend your resources, bring a familiar boss loadout, and follow the objective marker. If you want a strong post-game file, use Object Scan, finish Red Zones, unlock every Escape Hatch, and collect the sector’s Safe Boxes, Training Data, Mods, Pure Lunum, REMs, and Storage Expander. Central Port also contains Lim Recycler opportunities, so it is a good place to finish Round ‘Em Up or Clean Up on Aisle Three if you missed earlier setups.

The epilogue after Central Port is brief and does not behave like a full collectible zone. Make sure your manual save situation is clean before committing if you still want to compare endings, then finish the final sequence.

Collectible Checklist for 100%

Across the main completion route, readable collectible references agree on 184 collectible locations. The most important distinction is that not every visible collectible type counts toward a sector’s percentage. Safe Boxes, Pure Lunum, REMs, Mods, Storage Expanders, Cartridge Holders, and Training Data count toward sector progress. Mini Cabins and Escape Hatches have their own achievements/trophies, but they do not count toward the sector percentage used for Cradle Surveyor.

Collectible Type Total Why You Need It Route Advice
Safe Boxes 70 Major source of Lunafilament, Cabin Coins, and completion progress. Open what you can on first visit; return after Lim Eraser and Cleanse unlocks.
Pure Lunum 21 Needed for higher-tier weapon upgrades and Top-Shelf Item. Red Zones and hidden rewards are key sources. Spend carefully but do not hoard forever.
Read Earth Memories 16 Unlock Diana scenes, REM Replicator progress, Cabin Coins, and related trophies. Turn them in at the Shelter as you go instead of saving them for the end.
Mods 22 Expand build options and count toward sector progress. Check tram loadouts after finding new Mods; a good Mod can solve a hard route.
Mini Cabins 15 Needed for Well Spotted! and Mini-Hunter Supreme. There are three in each of the five main Sectors. Shoot them when heard or seen.
Escape Hatches 27 Fast travel/checkpoints and Escape Artist. Unlock every one immediately, even if you do not plan to rest.
Storage Expanders 5 Improve survivability and count toward sector progress. Prioritize these because more healing capacity makes every later boss easier.
Cartridge Holders 2 Increase Repair Canister capacity and count toward progress. Do not skip them; healing capacity is one of the strongest upgrades in the game.
Training Data 6 Unlocks Training Simulations needed for Master of the Simulator. Collect as you go, then clear simulation main objectives at the Shelter.

Missable and High-Risk Checklist

Most of Pragmata can be cleaned up after the story through completed saves and Unknown Signal access, but a few habits save real pain. Use this checklist while playing your first run.

  • Talk to Diana at every Shelter return. Small Talk is easy to miss early, and later Diana bond rewards depend on repeated conversations and REM turn-ins.
  • Give REMs to Diana instead of banking them forever. This feeds Cabin Coins, Replicating Extraordinaire!, pictures, hide-and-seek access, and the emotional Shelter scenes.
  • Shoot every Mini Cabin immediately. They do not count toward sector percentage, but there are only 15 and they are easier to handle when you are already in the room.
  • Unlock every Escape Hatch. Hatches do not count toward sector completion either, but they are required for Escape Artist and make all cleanup easier.
  • Back up or manual-save before Sweeper bots. You’re Not Getting Away That Easy is the most dangerous achievement/trophy to postpone. Known appearances include MPA side routes and Lunum Mines routes.
  • Craft new Unit Printer items when they appear. Can’t Stop, Won’t Stop cares about printing obtainable weapons, hacking nodes, and abilities during the main story.
  • Clear at least one sector to 100%. Cradle Surveyor only needs one sector, but Unknown Signal later asks for full completion in all five main sectors.
  • Use Red Gate Keys instead of ignoring Red Zones. Red Zones do not directly count as collectibles, but their rewards often do.
  • Check Assist Mode toggles before enabling them. Some options can disable eligibility for difficulty or rank-style goals, and the game flags those options in its menus.
  • Keep a completed save after credits. Unknown Signal, true ending cleanup, New Game+, and Lunatic planning all branch from post-completion access.

Clean completion is about timing your returns: Shelter upgrades, ability backtracking, and post-game cleanup all matter.

Unknown Signal and Endings

Pragmata has a default ending for finishing the story and a true ending path tied to Unknown Signal. After the first completion, make a completed save and choose Unknown Signal from the newly available options. This returns you to the Shelter before the final boss route and opens the Hidden Chamber through the tram list.

Unknown Signal is not a tiny epilogue mission. It asks you to complete a set of post-game tasks: reach 100% completion in all five main Sectors, win the enhanced Mk-II rematches tied to the first four major zones, complete 10 Simulation Pod missions in the Hidden Chamber, claim the Black Box Mod, equip it, and then return to Central Port for the final boss again. Finishing that route gives the expanded true ending and unlocks The Right Man for the Job.

New Game+ and Lunatic Difficulty

New Game+ is useful as a powered-up victory lap. It keeps Hugh’s suit upgrades, Primary Unit upgrades, Diana hacking upgrades, Unit Printer purchases and upgrades, Storage Expanders, Cartridge Holders, collected Mods, unspent currencies, and Mini Cabin figures. It does not keep Diana’s story-gated Lim Eraser or Cleanse abilities, Shelter licenses, REMs, Shelter decorations, Training Simulation access, or previously opened Upgrade Components, Safe Boxes, and Pure Lunum pickups.

Lunatic difficulty is the important catch for completion players. Sources agree that Lunatic unlocks after the first clear and is tied to a fresh New Game route rather than a normal first-clear New Game+ run. If you are chasing 100%, plan on two playthroughs: a thorough Standard or Casual first run for collectibles, Diana, Unknown Signal, and cleanup, then a fresh Lunatic run for Lunar Supremacy. On Lunatic, prioritize health and Diana’s hacking strength before weapon damage. A dead Hugh does not care how upgraded the gun was.

Trophy and Achievement Roadmap

Pragmata has 35 achievements on Steam/Xbox and 36 trophies on PlayStation 5 because of the Platinum. The campaign gives nine story unlocks automatically. The rest are split between post-game, collectibles, Shelter interactions, combat techniques, and miscellaneous exploration goals. A realistic 100% path is two playthroughs plus Unknown Signal cleanup.

Phase What To Focus On Key Risks
First story run Talk to Diana, turn in REMs, print new tools, unlock Hatches, shoot Mini Cabins, clear Red Zones, and collect sector progress items. Missing early Diana interactions, ignoring Sweeper bots, or postponing too many Mini Cabins.
Before final boss Use Object Scan, clean ability-gated routes, finish easy combat goals, and make sure your completed-save path is clean. Entering the ending with poor upgrades or no plan for Unknown Signal.
Unknown Signal Reach 100% in all five main Sectors, defeat enhanced boss rematches, complete 10 Simulation Pods, equip Black Box, and refight the final boss. Thinking Unknown Signal is optional if you want the true ending or The Right Man for the Job.
Training cleanup Complete the main objective in every Training Sim, use simulations for burst-damage and hacking-damage achievements, and test late-game weapons safely. Chasing perfect side objectives when the achievement only asks for main objectives.
Lunatic run Start a fresh New Game on Lunatic, prioritize survivability and Diana’s hack damage, then play cleanly through the campaign. Assuming New Game+ automatically satisfies Lunatic or overinvesting in weapon damage before health.

Combat Achievement Setups

Some combat achievements are best handled deliberately rather than accidentally. For Round ‘Em Up, use a Lim Recycler encounter in Lim Recycling Facility or later Central Port routes and wait until three enemies are inside the effect before triggering the recycler. For Clean Up on Aisle Three, wait until you have Cleanse and group three corrupted enemies before firing the cleanse effect. For Can I Borrow That?, use Confuse on a shielded Defender-type enemy once that enemy family appears in later Sectors.

IT’S OVER 6000! and Who Needs Guns?! are easier after your build is mature. Use Training Simulations to set up controlled enemy lines, damage-boosting nodes, and weapons such as Charge Piercer or other high-burst tools. The principle is the same: build a large OPEN or hack-damage window first, then spend the right resource in one burst. Do not try these while under-upgraded in normal exploration unless you enjoy wasting ammo and patience.

Sector Cleanup Order

If you reach the end with a pile of missing items, do not wander randomly. Clean up in a route that follows your unlocked abilities: Solar Power Plant first for Lim Eraser gates, then Mass Production Array for beacons, Red Zones, and Sweeper checks, then Terra Dome and Lunum Mines for dense progress items, then Central Port after Cleanse is fully available. Use the tram and Escape Hatches to jump between blocks instead of replaying whole Sectors from the entrance.

When checking a sector, separate the list into three buckets: percentage items, separate achievement items, and activities. Percentage items are Safe Boxes, Pure Lunum, REMs, Mods, Storage Expanders, Cartridge Holders, and Training Data. Separate achievement items are Mini Cabins and Escape Hatches. Activities are Red Zones, Training Simulations, Stamp Boards, Diana conversations, and combat-specific goals. This split keeps you from reaching 100% sector progress while still missing Mini-Hunter Supreme or Escape Artist.

For 100%, finish the story with a strong save, then use Unknown Signal and Lunatic as separate goals.

Quick Reference: First-Run Checklist

  1. Reach the Shelter, talk to Diana, and learn the tram/loadout loop.
  2. In Sector 01, restore power, unlock Hatches, and note blue filament barriers for Lim Eraser backtracking.
  3. In Sector 02, clear the beacon route, learn Lim Recycler setups, unlock Lim Eraser, and handle any Sweeper bot you find.
  4. After Shelter Level 2 access opens the option, unlock Object Scan for collectible cleanup.
  5. In Sector 03, keep up with dense lab collectibles and optional Red Zones.
  6. In Sector 04, damage LunaDigger during ambush encounters if you want Courage in Desperation.
  7. In Sector 05, learn Cleanse and do not panic about normal collectibles.
  8. In Sector 06, decide whether you are ending quickly or building a strong Unknown Signal save.
  9. After credits, run Unknown Signal for 100% sectors, enhanced bosses, Simulation Pods, Black Box, and true ending.
  10. For full completion, start a separate fresh Lunatic run after your first clear.
