Scritchy Scratchy Guide: Tickets, Prestige, Achievements, and Final Chance

Official Scritchy Scratchy screenshot showing the day job desk, phone, and dirty plates

Scritchy Scratchy looks like a cozy scratch-card toy, but the runs that scale smoothly are built on restraint: peek before you reveal, spend early money on luck and automation, use risky cards by hand, and treat each Final Chance death as part of the progression curve instead of a failure. This guide covers the first stable run, the best cards in each catalog, prestige and Jack Points, automation setups, Final Chance planning, and a practical route through all 34 Steam achievements.

Important note: this is a guide for a fictional Steam incremental game. It is not real-world gambling advice, and it does not encourage real-money scratch cards, betting, or risky financial behavior. Inside the game, the best play is usually boring: protect your balance, avoid obvious traps, and let permanent upgrades do the heavy lifting.

Spoiler warning: this guide names all four catalogs, Final Chance progression, prestige upgrades, late-game machines, endings, and achievement requirements. It does not use save editing, file modification, or infinite-JP methods.

The safe start is not glamorous: use the day job to build a small bankroll, then move into tickets with a plan.

Best First-Run Plan

  1. Use the day job only long enough to buy early tickets. Plates are useful starting capital, but after tickets unlock they can break and cost money. Do not grind plates forever unless you are doing a specific achievement.
  2. Upgrade Scratch Luck consistently. Scratch size and coin strength make the game feel smoother, but luck changes ticket outcomes. When in doubt, lean toward luck.
  3. Level one reliable ticket before spreading out. Two Win and Mini Scratch are safe starters. Quick Cash becomes the Catalog 1 money engine once you can afford it.
  4. Peek at penalty cards instead of full-clearing them. Apple Tree, Lucky Cat, Scratch My Back, and Snake Eyes can punish a full reveal. Scratch corners or edges first, then trash the ticket if you see danger.
  5. Unlock Scratch Bot and automation early, but feed it safe work. A bot that fully reveals a risky card can bankrupt you faster than manual play.
  6. Scratch Final Chance by hand. Never hand Final Chance to Mundo or unattended automation.
  7. Prestige only when the next run will actually be better. A reset with enough JP for Starter Kit, Booster Kit, Jackpot Power, or other meaningful upgrades is progress. A reset with nothing useful to buy is just repetition.
  8. Separate completion runs from money runs. Good Luck, Workaholic, Bad Kitty, Skip a Catalogue, and Faithful Servant all ask for odd behavior that can derail a normal scaling run.

Core Mechanics That Matter

The game has three layers. First, you earn starter money from the day job. Second, you buy and scratch tickets from four catalogs. Third, you prestige for permanent upgrades that make later cycles faster. The trick is realizing that a slow, stable run usually beats a flashy one.

System What It Does Best Habit Common Mistake
Day Job Washing plates gives early money and later supports special achievements. Use it to start, then return for dedicated Honest Work, Workaholic, Win Your Job, or Good Luck setups. Assuming plate breaks are caused by mouse speed instead of chance and over-grinding early.
Scratch Luck Improves ticket outcomes and makes high-value symbols more realistic. Invest steadily throughout the run, especially before risky or jackpot-focused cards. Buying only scratch size or strength because the immediate feel is better.
Ticket Levels Leveling a card raises its long-term value. Build a few reliable earners before unlocking every expensive option. Jumping to a new catalog card before the current catalog can pay for itself.
Automation Scratch Bot, Fan, Mundo, Subscription Bot, and later upgrades turn the run into an idle engine. Automate medium-risk, positive-flow tickets and handle dangerous tickets manually until Picky Eater is online. Feeding trap cards or Final Chance into automation.
Prestige Resets the run for JP and permanent upgrades. Prestige when you can buy a permanent upgrade that changes the next cycle. Resetting the moment the button appears with no meaningful plan.
Loans The phone can rescue a bankrupt run at a painful cost. Use loans as emergency recovery, then return to safe tickets until debt pressure is gone. Treating loans as investment money for another risky card.

Ticket Route By Catalog

Steam confirms Scritchy Scratchy as a single-player incremental game built around scratchers, Scratch Bot, prestige, Jack Points, and Steam achievements. Community guide references consistently list 17 tickets across four catalogs, with Final Chance appearing as the gate between major progression cycles. Exact balance can shift with patches, so treat the costs below as launch-version routing data and always check your in-game catalog before committing a run.

Do not read a ticket only by its payout. Risk tier, symbol layout, and your current luck all matter.
Catalog Tickets Best Progress Pick Manual-Control Warnings Final Chance Gate
Catalog 1 Two Win, Mini Scratch, Apple Tree, Quick Cash, Lucky Cat, Final Chance Quick Cash once affordable; Two Win and Mini Scratch for the safest opening. Apple Tree worms and Lucky Cat black cats can drain money when fully revealed. Peek first. Final Chance appears at the end of Catalog 1 and is commonly listed at $50M.
Catalog 2 Sand Dollars, Scratch My Back, Snake Eyes, The Bomb, Final Chance Sand Dollars is the most stable automation-friendly anchor. Scratch My Back, Snake Eyes, and The Bomb are high-risk cards. Use careful partial reveals. Final Chance is commonly listed at $5T.
Catalog 3 Bank Break, Xmas Countdown, Thrift Store, Berry Picking, Final Chance Xmas Countdown is a strong medium-risk late-game income card; Bank Break is another stable step. Thrift Store and Berry Picking can punish unattended automation unless your safety upgrades are ready. Final Chance is commonly listed at $200Qi.
Catalog 4 Trick Or Treat, Slot Machine, To The Moon, Booster Pack, Final Chance Trick Or Treat early in the catalog; Booster Pack after Picky Eater makes dangerous tickets safer. Slot Machine, To The Moon, and Booster Pack can swing hard. Do not automate them blindly before your safety net exists. Final Chance is commonly listed at $1No.

How To Read Risky Tickets

The most useful skill in Scritchy Scratchy is not raw mouse speed. It is restraint. Many dangerous tickets only punish you when a bad symbol is fully uncovered, so you can often inspect the edge or corner of a symbol before deciding whether to continue.

Snake Eyes

Dice tickets punish the wrong face. A useful inspection habit is to scratch the extreme corners first. A dangerous die face may reveal blank space where you expected dots, which tells you to stop before you commit to the whole die. If the ticket already looks hostile, trash it and protect the bankroll.

Scratch My Back

This turtle-shell card is divided into segments. You want the rewarding symbols and want to avoid the penalty symbols. Scratch a thin edge of each segment, not the full area. If the color or shape looks wrong, leave that segment alone. It is slower than full-clearing, but it saves runs.

Apple Tree And Lucky Cat

Apple Tree and Lucky Cat are the early trap lessons. Apple Tree can hide worms, and Lucky Cat can hide black cats. These cards become much more attractive once your luck and safety upgrades are strong, but early on they are a bankruptcy engine. Scratch a sliver of each spot, recognize the bad outline, and trash the card before the penalty is fully revealed.

Final Chance

Final Chance is not a normal ticket. It is the progression gate, the death milestone trigger, and eventually the route to the ending. Buy it when you are ready to advance the cycle, not when your table is full of unresolved cards. Scratch it yourself. If Mundo or automation handles a losing Final Chance, you can create avoidable cleanup problems.

Automation Setup

Automation is where Scritchy Scratchy changes from a manual scratching game into a real incremental engine. The mistake is assuming “automatic” means “safe.” Scratch Bot is excellent at processing volume, but it will reveal everything it is given. Mundo is useful once built around properly, but early Mundo is slow and can still process bad outcomes. Fan and Subscription Bot improve flow, but they also make bad routing happen faster.

Official Scritchy Scratchy screenshot showing Scratch Bot unlocked
Scratch Bot is a huge milestone, but it should start on safe or medium-risk tickets, not every shiny card you just unlocked.
Tool Use It For Wait Until… Avoid
Scratch Bot High-volume safe tickets, long idle sessions, and the Clicker Minigame stack. You have a reliable ticket that stays profitable without manual peeking. Trap tickets, Final Chance, or anything you have not personally learned yet.
Fan Keeping the table moving and supporting idle setups. You can replace low-value clutter with tickets that actually matter. Letting valuable setup tickets get pushed away during One Of Each Please or Skip a Catalogue attempts.
Mundo Collecting or processing scratched tickets, and later helping with jackpot achievements. You understand what he will touch and where tickets are being moved. Final Chance and high-risk cards before Picky Eater is active.
Picky Eater Turning Mundo from a risky helper into a safety tool that trashes bad tickets. You can afford the 250 JP investment and want to automate high-risk catalogs. Assuming it replaces all manual judgment. Endgame goals still need setup discipline.
Subscription Bot Buying a steady feed of tickets once the rest of the table is stable. Your chosen ticket is safe enough to buy repeatedly. Letting it accidentally open or use a catalog you meant to skip for an achievement.
Egg Timer / Time Machine path Speeding up late-game scaling and achievement cleanup. You are already in the prestige-driven part of the game. Expecting it to fix a bad economy by itself.

Prestige And JP Priority

The store description calls the permanent currency Jack Points; several guide references and players also abbreviate it as JP or Jackpot Points. The important part is what JP does: it converts a dead run into permanent power. Your first few resets should buy tools that shorten the next cycle, not luxury upgrades that only matter after the economy is already huge.

Picky Eater is expensive, but it is one of the biggest safety breakpoints for automated high-risk tickets.
Priority Upgrade Direction Why It Matters When To Take It
Early Starter Kit Starting with Scratch Bot removes a lot of early manual drag and accelerates every later run. As soon as you have the JP for it.
Early Booster Kit More bot capacity, strength, and speed make early tickets scale faster. After Starter Kit, especially if you prefer idle income.
Early Jackpot Power / Big Winner More JP and better jackpot value compound across future cycles. When your runs are already reaching jackpots often enough to benefit.
Build-defining Self-Made Millionaire / Completionist / Learn By Doing These reward manual, careful ticket play and help if you like active scratching. When you still play by hand and want that time to matter.
Build-defining Pet Lover into Picky Eater Mundo becomes far safer once he can reject bad tickets. Before leaning on high-risk automation in Catalog 3 and Catalog 4.
Achievement-focused Fine Dining, Dishwasher, PlateMaster5000, Clean Freak, Soft Hands These support Day Job jackpots, plate income, and the no-ticket money achievements. When routing Honest Work, Workaholic, Win Your Job, or Good Luck.
Late Fully Automated, Air Condition, Egg Timer speed, Hot Keys These make cleanup runs faster and reduce manual friction. Once you are chasing Speedrun, Nap Time, Max Out Skill Tree, or final cleanup.
Late Collector, Experienced, Smart Investment, Build Different These push mature runs beyond the early catalog bottlenecks. After the engine is stable and you need speed, levels, and scaling.

Final Chance And Ending Route

The first four Final Chance failures are not wasted runs. They line up with the death milestone achievements and open late-game tools. After the fourth death, the Machine and artificial souls become important because souls effectively give you more attempts at surviving Final Chance. When you finally scratch Final Chance without dying, you enter the ending sequence and can choose how to handle the winning ticket.

Stage Goal What To Do Achievement Tie-In
First Final Chance Accept that the first death advances progression. Finish Catalog 1, buy Final Chance, scratch it yourself, and let the run end. Gambling never pays off
Second Final Chance Repeat through Catalog 2. Use your first permanent upgrades to move faster, then take the second death. A loosing bet
Third Final Chance Push through Catalog 3. Prioritize stable income and do not get stuck farming low catalogs forever. Go for broke
Fourth Final Chance Reach the late-game tool unlock. Take the Catalog 4 death and prepare for soul crafting. House always wins, Soul Siphon setup
Fifth run and beyond Survive Final Chance. Craft enough souls, keep the table clean, and make repeated attempts when your engine is strong. Win everything?
Ending choice Claim or wait. For Faithful Servant, do not immediately claim the winning Final Chance. Wait through the phone/corporation sequence instead. Faithful Servant

Achievement Roadmap

Scritchy Scratchy has 34 Steam achievements. Do not chase them in one run. Several goals directly conflict: Workaholic asks you to avoid scratch-offs, Good Luck cares about the first ticket you personally scratch, Bad Kitty wants Mundo to bankrupt you, and Skip a Catalogue asks you to avoid opening a catalog while still reaching Final Chance. The cleanest route is to group achievements by behavior.

1. Natural Progress And Intentional Failure

Achievement Requirement Best Plan
Gambling never pays off Die. Take the Catalog 1 Final Chance death.
A loosing bet Die twice. Reach the next Final Chance and take the second death.
Go for broke Die three times. Repeat for Catalog 3.
House always wins Die four times. Finish the fourth catalog death to unlock the later Machine route.
Don’t read the fine print Take a loan. Trigger a negative balance, answer the phone, then recover on safe cards.
Why? Trash a jackpot ticket. Do this on a cheap jackpot in a disposable run so the pain is small.
Bad kitty Have Mundo bankrupt you. Attempt before your safety upgrades make it hard. Use risky losing tickets and avoid Picky Eater for this run.
Bad luck Crack two plates in a row. Do it before Soft Hands or other plate-safety upgrades remove the chance.

2. Jackpot, Multiplier, And Ticket Goals

Achievement Requirement Best Plan
What are the odds? Win a super jackpot. Let late-game ticket volume and luck upgrades carry this. Do not burn early runs chasing it.
Lucky ticket Win 1000 times the ticket cost. Use higher-tier tickets once the engine can afford misses.
Big win Win 10,000 times the ticket cost. Let automation chew through expensive tickets after your economy is strong.
High level gambling Win 100,000 times the ticket cost. Steam’s achievement page lists 100,000x. Treat any 1,000,000x community wording as outdated or mistaken.
Lucky cat Have Mundo scratch a super jackpot. Use a mature Mundo setup and leave him on high-volume tickets; it is a patience achievement.
Winning streak Win a jackpot on all tickets from all four catalogs. Do it late, with high luck and automation. Check Day Job if your version or setup appears to require it.
Good luck Get a jackpot on the first ticket you personally scratch in a run. Start a new run, let automation or Mundo handle plate money, buy Scratch Luck to at least the Two Win cap, then scratch your first ticket yourself.

3. Day Job And Automation Goals

Achievement Requirement Best Plan
Honest work Have $2000 without buying a scratch-off. Use a dedicated no-ticket run. Do not touch catalog tickets.
Workaholic Have $20M without buying a scratch-off. Wait until Day Job upgrades and automation make this sane. Combine with Honest Work if possible.
Win your job Win a jackpot on Day Job. Requires the Fine Dining route. Keep the Day Job running until the jackpot lands.
Clicker minigame Have 100 or more scratched tickets stacked in Scratch Bot. Turn off or delay collection tools, let Scratch Bot hold a large stack, then claim after the achievement pops.
Wizard Use magic to scratch a ticket. Unlock the Spell Book path, then spend the spell on any ticket. Use it on a high-value card if you want efficiency.
Soul Siphon Create an artificial soul. After the fourth death unlocks the Machine route, feed the Machine and craft a soul.
Time machine Upgrade Egg Timer to x5 speed. Buy the full speed path once the prestige economy can afford it.
Idle game Start with all automation gadgets unlocked. Unlock the automation-start perks, then begin a new run.
Nap time Make 1Sx while idle for at least 5 minutes. Use a mature high-income ticket with Scratch Bot, Mundo, Fan, Subscription Bot, and speed upgrades running together.

4. Collection, Setup, And Ending Goals

Achievement Requirement Best Plan
Visit the Night Market Buy and equip a cosmetic. Unlock Night Market and buy one cheap cosmetic.
Walk-in-closet Buy all cosmetics. Save achievement reward tickets and clear the shop later. Supporter Pack cosmetics are not needed in the community route references.
One of each please Have all different tickets from all four catalogs on the table at once. Wait until all catalogs are open, buy one of each ticket, and do not let Fan or automation clear the table.
Skip a catalogue Scratch Final Chance with a catalog still on the table. Use a dedicated run. Move the skipped catalog aside and rely on automation or later catalogs without opening it.
Win everything? Scratch Final Chance without dying. Craft souls, build enough luck and income, then attempt Final Chance until you survive.
Faithful Servant Give the winning Final Chance to the corporation. After a successful Final Chance, wait instead of claiming the reward. Keep the game running through the sequence.
Speedrun Reach the ending in 30 minutes or less after prestige. Do this late with a strong or maxed skill tree, immediate automation, and no side objectives.
Max out skill tree Buy all prestige upgrades. Leave it for the long grind after your JP engine is efficient.
Achievement Hunter Get every other achievement. Use the checklist above and clean up the awkward one-off runs last.
Official Scritchy Scratchy screenshot showing a Lucky Cat jackpot and shower of coins and gems
Big jackpots are exciting, but completion is mostly about setting up enough attempts that the rare outcomes eventually arrive.

Cleanup Order For 100 Percent

  1. Finish the first four Final Chance deaths. This gives you the main progression deaths and opens the late-game soul route.
  2. Buy core automation and JP scaling. Starter Kit, Booster Kit, jackpot-focused upgrades, and safe ticket levels shorten every later attempt.
  3. Route normal jackpot and multiplier achievements. Let a strong bot setup process expensive tickets rather than trying to brute force everything by hand.
  4. Do the Day Job block in a dedicated run. Honest Work, Workaholic, Win Your Job, and Good Luck all benefit from planning around not personally scratching tickets too early.
  5. Do the “bad behavior” achievements before safety perks interfere. Bad Kitty and Bad Luck are easier before Picky Eater or full Soft Hands style safety makes failure harder to trigger.
  6. Clear table-management achievements. One Of Each Please and Skip a Catalogue both require the table to stay in a specific state. Turn off anything that moves or claims tickets unexpectedly.
  7. Win Final Chance, then route Faithful Servant separately if needed. Claiming and waiting are different behaviors, so keep the ending goals clean.
  8. Finish cosmetics, Speedrun, Max Out Skill Tree, and Achievement Hunter. These are late cleanup goals that benefit from everything else being unlocked.

Common Mistakes

  • Automating every new ticket: new does not mean safe. Test the card manually first.
  • Prestiging too early: reset only when the next run gets a permanent advantage.
  • Ignoring card levels: a leveled reliable card can beat a flashy new one that drains your balance.
  • Buying loans for risky plays: debt is a rescue line, not a bankroll plan.
  • Letting Mundo touch Final Chance: scratch Final Chance yourself.
  • Doing achievements in the wrong order: safety and automation upgrades can make failure achievements more annoying, so route them deliberately.
  • Trusting one guide’s exact numbers forever: Steam confirms the broad structure and 34 achievements, but costs, timing, and balance can change. Verify important thresholds in your current build.
