Escape From Mystwood Mansion Walkthrough: All Rooms, Secrets, and Achievements
Escape From Mystwood Mansion is a chain of five escape rooms with a sixth, secret route hidden behind three optional tasks. Most individual locks are forgiving; the real completion trap is the parcel. If you want the true ending and the hardest parcel achievement in one run, carry the box from the delivery van to the Library without throwing or dropping it, and place it in the dumbwaiter when the game finally gives you the chance.
This walkthrough gives direct codes, object routes, achievement timing, and a clean two-ending plan. Visual arrangements that depend on an in-game diagram are described by their method instead of pretending that a line of text can replace the picture. The guide contains full puzzle and ending spoilers.

The Completion Route Before You Touch Anything
A blind playthrough is perfectly viable because the game has a hint system and chapter select. A completion run needs a little more discipline. The three true-ending secrets must be collected in the same playthrough, and most completed areas cannot be revisited. Use the following route if you want to avoid a second full run.
- Take the parcel from the van. Set it down gently whenever you need both hands. Never use the throw action and do not let it fall.
- Do not request a hint. Opening the hint interface is reported as safe, but accepting a hint voids Look Ma, No Hints!. The cleanest policy is to leave the hint system alone.
- Collect all three secrets: Observant in the Wine Cellar, Organized in the Winter Garden, and Dedicated by delivering the parcel in the Library.
- Finish the secret-room ending first. Once it is unlocked, this route gives First Day On Your New Job!.
- Use chapter select and replay the Library. Exit through the front door for Mansion Escape. During this short replay, throw the parcel for Wait… Did that say fragile? if you still need it.

Entrance: Four Keys and the Parcel
Take the parcel from the truck, knock, enter, and put the box on the carpet rather than tossing it. Inspect both sides of the note on the round table. The number on the back opens the green briefcase: 347. Take its key and place it in the bottom-left position of the ornate door. The briefcase blueprint also shows the shape of a table with a concealed switch.
- Find the matching table in the side alcove and press its hidden button. Use the drawer key in the door’s top-left keyhole.
- Go upstairs, take the wall-mounted key, and put it in the top-right keyhole.
- Halfway up the stairs, remove the blue-and-white parakeet, the owl, and the red finch pictures. Put them in the three matching spaces beside the door.
- The picture puzzle opens the cupboard under the stairs. The year beneath the large painting in the alcove is 1423; use it on the box inside.
- Put the last key in the bottom-right keyhole, collect the parcel, and enter the Office.
Opening the door awards Let the Escape Begin. There is no benefit to abandoning the parcel here; every room has a reasonably safe carpet or open floor where you can park it.
Office: Five Crystals, a Hidden Fireplace, and the Fusebox
The Office is the densest room because several puzzles feed into the same clock-and-pedestal mechanism. Place the parcel on the red carpet and work clockwise. The five crystals have symbols on their bases; those symbols point to Roman numerals on the large clock, which tell you where each crystal belongs.
Phone, TV, stencil, and first crystals
- Take the note from the TV and place it beside the telephone. Lift the receiver and dial 16557. The phone releases two batteries.
- Take the remote from the top-right desk drawer, install the batteries, and turn on the TV. Its picture points to a low hidden compartment near the entrance door. Take the stencil.
- Clear the cup and books from the small table by the fireplace. Move the stencil over the marks until the words resolve to TWO EIGHT FOUR.
- Open the shelf safe with 284. Put the orange crystal on pedestal X. Put the green crystal beside the TV on pedestal V.
- Use the arrow sheet from the safe on the dumbwaiter: Up, Down, Up, Down, Down, Down, Up, Up, Down, Up. Put the released teal crystal on pedestal I.
Book count, Morse lamp, and train routes
The chest lock uses the colored book symbols around the room. The counts are red 2, blue 5, yellow 4, green 1, so enter 2541. Put the pink crystal on pedestal III. Also take the SECRET plaque, the Morse-code book marked N, and the tape hidden in a nearby book.

- The blue portions of the heart picture form 5718. Use that number on the corner cabinet, repair the broken wire with tape, plug it in, and switch on the desk lamp.
- Read the lamp flashes with the Morse book. The word is RIGHT.
- Find three train tickets: one in the top-left desk drawer, one in the lower drawer left of the clock, and one on the shelf beneath the hat. Put them under the matching blue, yellow, and red pins on the map.
- Pin each ticket’s route in date order. The paths draw yellow 4, blue 7, and red 1. Open the desk-side briefcase with 471.
- Put its purple crystal on pedestal XII. The full pedestal set releases a key. Clear the bottom shelf left of the clock and use the key on the concealed lock to obtain the missing letter wheel.
Before leaving, take the two logs from the drawer that held the yellow ticket and add both to the fireplace. This awards Log-ical Fueling.
Fireplace passage and No Loose Ends
Install the letter wheel near the fireplace and spell RIGHT. Take the FIRE plaque and the key from the drawer that opens. Put the plaque in its slot, unlock the extinguisher cabinet, press the fireplace-side button, extinguish the flames, and crawl through.
The powered wheel must connect the left input to the right output without leaving any energized branch open. Rotate the concentric sections until every live path terminates in another connector. The important achievement condition is not merely reaching the far side: no powered branch can end against a blank edge when you pull the fusebox lever.

The fusebox instruction sheet is missing. Return through the fireplace and look on top of the bookcase beside the dumbwaiter. Add the yellow sheet to the fusebox. The five clue values are hat F, desk cup IV, chest book N, small-table cup I, and the missing phone digit 0. Set the three dials to 5, 9, 0. Set the five switches to Up, Middle, Down, Up, Middle, then pull the lever. A correct wire wheel awards No Loose Ends. Retrieve the parcel and use the new exit for Out of Office.
Wine Cellar: Observant, House Wine, and the Storage Room
The capital letters in the opening note spell LIGHT BULB. Leave the parcel safely downstairs, borrow the bulb from the previous stair fitting, and install it over the cellar gate. Carry the parcel through, put it down, and close the gate behind you.
Do the first secret immediately: interact with the eye on the wine-bottle picture near the closed gate and take the hidden paper. That awards Observant. This small interaction is easy to miss and the room cannot be revisited after you leave.
Open the hidden cabinet
- At the darker-brick wall, press the protruding bricks in the order 2, 3, 1, 6, 4, 5. Take the magnet.
- Inspect the pillars at the ends of the wine racks. Remove the cork from one pillar and keep it. Put the magnet in the hole to pull out a small key. This specific cellar cork is needed for an achievement later.
- Use the trapdoor drawing to place the six colored gems. Copy the light pattern that appears onto the adjustable bars by the entrance. Take the four bricks behind the bars and add them to the incomplete spider picture.

Mix the house wine
The recipe requires 5 units of light red, 8 units of bold red, and 4 units of medium red. Use the measuring cups as follows:
- Fill the 5-unit cup from L and pour it into the left cylinder.
- Fill the 5-unit cup from B and pour it into the middle cylinder.
- Fill the 3-unit cup from B and add it to the middle cylinder.
- Fill the 5-unit cup from M twice and pour both loads into the right cylinder.
- Use the 3-unit cup to remove and drain 3 units from the right cylinder. Repeat once. Four units remain.
- Turn the valve to bottle the mixture.
Match the grape, barrel, and wine-glass cork symbols to the three display pedestals. Viewed from the right angle, the fill levels reveal 271. Open the cabinet, take four more bricks, finish the spider, and read 0728 from the back. Enter 0728 behind the spider painting to obtain a Braille chart and a small map. Follow the map to the marked bottles; the Braille letters spell TRAP. Use TRAP on the tall cabinet, then use the small key inside. Take the saved cellar cork through the secret door.
Storage Room
- Insert the original cellar cork into the side of the large vase and open the tap. This awards Cork Recycling and floats an apple to the top.
- The wall message points to pictures four and seven. Put their five objects on the podium from left to right: apple, ink pot with quill, candle, cheese wedge, red ornate bottle.
- Use the revealed key on the large chest. Combine its sheet with the writing behind the door to read FLIP A3, B5 AND C1.
- Return to the cellar, open the wall panel near the exit, and flip A3, B5, and C1. Collect the parcel before leaving.
The exit awards Cellar Conqueror.
Winter Garden: Food Chain, Greenhouse, and Four Pipes
Put the parcel by the flower door. Count every petal, including fallen petals, to get 5684. Carry the parcel into the fountain area and park it again.
Food Chain and Greenhouse entrance
Before opening the next room, rotate the bronze creatures toward what they eat: bird to snake, snake to frog, frog to beetle, beetle to grass. This awards Food Chain Expertise. Open the birdhouse in the central tree for angled pipe 1 of 4. The pattern over the green doors gives 6254.

Greenhouse bench, butterflies, plants, and tools
- Spin the blackboard 16 times to earn Nosy. The tree chart on it resolves the cupboard code 6738.
- Place the compass from the cupboard on the central workbench. Solve the three small jigsaws, then set the bench controls to: lights Off, On, Off, On, Off; green levers Left, Up, Right, Up; red valve spokes Up, Down, Down, Right, Left. Take angled pipe 2 of 4.
- Take the missing butterfly photograph from the bottom of the tall tool cabinet. Facing the two butterfly walls, arrange the left group Red, White, Yellow, Blue, Black and the right group Orange, Blue, White, Red, Purple. Take the map from the opened pillar.
- Match the five young plants to the flower pictures from left to right: yellow thin stalk, blue dark-green fern, white light-green leafy plant, red broad flat leaves, pink water plant.
- Use the small shovel to dig at the near-right corner of the opposite flower bed shown on the map. Take angled pipe 3 of 4.
- Fill all five labeled pots with soil. Add seeds according to the blackboard riddle: P = Rain, L = Lightning, A = Sun, N = Snow, T = Cloud.
The seed puzzle releases the tool-cabinet key. Put the small shovel on its hook, retrieve the broken saw from behind the plant near the pink entrance doors, and put that away too. Finally, sort the wrenches by size. Completing the cabinet releases the second true-ending paper and awards Organized.
The next door spells its answer from the first letters of the nearby herbs: TROPICAL. Bring the compass into the dining area. Find the six plates in the cabinet and place each plate at the table position matching its compass symbol. Take angled pipe 4 of 4.
Pipe Room exit
- Take the crowbar from the restored tool cabinet.
- Move the large planter near the flower-door entrance, crawl through the opening, and pry the boards from the door.
- In the Pipe Room, pull the red switch to open a shortcut.
- Bring in all four angled pipes and match them to the color-coded gaps. Water lifts the central key.
- Unlock the exit, collect the parcel, and continue to the Library.
The exit awards Botanical Breakout.
Library: Gate, Parcel Delivery, and the Final Bookcase
Put the parcel on the carpet at the bottom of the stairs. Take the hammer leaning by the entrance and smash the blue vase. Insert the orange sun emblem into the nearby cupboard. The marked shelf ends on its map spell ENIGMA. Enter that word and keep the torn note.
Open the inner gate
- The four clock-hand symbols near the entrance show 3, 6, 8, and 9. Use 3689 on the “Time waits for no one” compartment and take the screwdriver.
- Remove the four screws from the high vent. Collect its three candles and the other three candles around the room.
- Set all six candles in their holders with each wick on the drawn horizontal line. The four Roman-numeral positions read 6451. Open the candle compartment and join its torn note to the first.
- Find eight loose story books; a ninth is already at the target shelf. Follow the Red Riding Hood story to order their lettered covers: E, H, I, S, N, D, T, A, O.
- The repaired note reads, “The code to the gate is the opposite of…” The glowing book symbols decode to DEAD, so the lock answer is ALIVE.
Do not enter ALIVE on your completion run. Instead, use the screwdriver on the gate supports and remove every visible screw. Dropping the gate this way awards Thinking Outside the Box.
Deliver the parcel before continuing
Carry the parcel upstairs, place it inside the dumbwaiter, close the hatch, and press its button. This is the third secret and awards Dedicated. If the parcel was never dropped or thrown, Handled With Care unlocks at the same time.
Six plaques and three upper-floor puzzles
- At the lower desk, slide the black cards over the writing until it reads, “Use hammer on the fifth step of the left staircase.” Break that step and take the symbol sheet.
- The matching shield panel upstairs decodes to RED PLUS BLUE. Enter PURPLE and take two gold plaques.
- Use the screwdriver to remove the board from the green rune panel. The composite rune is 1000 + 900 + 80 + 4, so enter 1984. Take two more plaques.
- Tilt the black-and-white picture until its hidden message says the key lies beneath the eye. Open the compartment under the gold eye on the railing and use its key on the grandfather clock.
- Remove the blue books to reveal the clock clue, then set the grandfather clock to 6:35. Enter the moved bookcase and collect the final two plaques.
- Arrange all six plaques to read, “The end is near. Your key to escape is…” The bookcase shows MELLON. Type its English translation, FRIEND, to open the passage and earn The Translator.
Going through the last Library door awards Literary Escapee. Back in the Entrance, the front door leads to the normal ending and Mansion Escape. If all three secret papers were collected, the green door is also open.
Secret Room and the True Ending
Enter the green door and take the cipher sheet from the upstairs lock. The three framed messages decode to HALF PAST TWO, TEN TO FOUR, and FIVE PAST NINE. The main cipher includes the words OBSERVANT, WISE, ORGANIZED, PUZZLED, WISHFUL, and DEDICATED. Set the downstairs clock to the three decoded times and read the letter pairs indicated by its hands: UN, LO, CK.
Enter UNLOCK on the upstairs door. Inspect the final office if you want the environmental story, then sit in the chair to finish the true route and earn First Day On Your New Job!. The parcel can also be opened here.

Common Stuck Points
- The Office lamp does nothing: unlock the heart cabinet with 5718, repair the cable with tape, plug it into the wall, and switch the lamp on.
- The Office wire wheel works but the achievement does not: a branch is still powered and open. Every energized path needs a valid continuation, not just the main left-to-right route.
- The Wine Cellar has no key left: remove the cork from the end pillar, put the magnet into that hole, and keep both the key and cork for their later uses.
- The Winter Garden pipe count is short: check the tree birdhouse, central greenhouse bench, mapped flower-bed corner, and compass-set dining table.
- The Library gate code seems wrong: DEAD is the clue, not the answer. The opposite is ALIVE. For the achievement, ignore the lock and remove the gate screws.
- The green door remains locked: Observant, Organized, and Dedicated must all be completed in the same playthrough.
- Handled With Care failed: even a brief throw or drop invalidates it. Restart from the beginning and always place the box gently.
