Battlefield 6 Campaign Walkthrough: All Missions, Dog Tags, and Achievement Cleanup

Official Battlefield 6 campaign artwork showing an amphibious assault

Battlefield 6 has nine campaign missions, 30 collectible Dog Tags, a hidden dinosaur, four difficulty settings, and several mission-specific achievements that are easy to pass without noticing. This walkthrough gives you a clean first-run route through Dagger 1-3’s campaign, then a separate collectible and achievement cleanup plan. It avoids story-ending details where possible, but mission names, locations, objectives, and set pieces are discussed throughout.

Fast answer: a story-focused Normal run takes roughly four to five hours. Exploring for Dog Tags, attempting the special mission achievements, and playing more cautiously can extend that considerably. Nothing in the 30-Tag set needs to be abandoned forever: the campaign provides mission replay for cleanup.

Choose your difficulty with the revive rules in mind

The main difference between the four settings is not merely enemy health. EA’s campaign guide also changes health regeneration, incoming damage, enemy accuracy, and how many defibrillation charges you can carry. Hardcore removes revives completely, so a first playthrough on Normal is the most practical choice if you also want to explore.

Difficulty Revive charges Best use Planning note
Recruit Up to 3 Story or fast cleanup Fastest health regeneration and the most forgiving enemy tuning.
Normal Up to 2 First complete run Enough pressure to learn each encounter without making collectible searches tedious.
Veteran Up to 1 Experienced FPS players Slower regeneration, tougher enemies, and less room to recover from a bad push.
Hardcore 0 Dedicated second run No revives anywhere in a mission, slower regeneration, and much higher enemy damage.

Five rules that prevent most restarts

  1. Let the squad work. Mark priority targets and issue the available squad command before exposing yourself. Their fire is especially useful against rooftop troops and fortified positions.
  2. Remove specialists first. Recon units, engineers, gunners, and drone operators can make an otherwise ordinary fight collapse. Scan high windows and roofs before crossing open ground.
  3. Keep the correct tool until its set piece is over. Do not discard the RPG before the Night Raid helicopter, the repair tool during the Operation Gladius escort, or the anti-air launcher in Always Forward.
  4. Search before activating the obvious final objective. Several Dog Tags sit close to doors, helicopters, or triggers that end a section. Clear the area, check the pause-menu collectible count, then advance.
  5. Separate story progress from perfect cleanup. A blind run becomes frustrating if every firefight is interrupted by a room-by-room search. Collect what you see, note the missing count, and use mission replay for a short Recruit cleanup pass.

Battlefield 6 relies on checkpoints rather than a traditional set of manual save slots. Community guides consistently report that collected Dog Tags are retained, but the cautious approach is to wait for the pickup confirmation and the next checkpoint before leaving. The pause menu shows the current mission’s collectible progress and the Tags appear in route order, which makes a missing entry easier to diagnose.

Battlefield 6 campaign walkthrough

Mission 1: Always Faithful

Do this before moving: when you first gain control inside the NATO base, turn around and crouch beside the table to interact with the small dinosaur. This unlocks End of an Era. It is separate from the 30 Dog Tags.

Follow Dagger through the base until the attack begins. Use the warehouse and nearby cover to avoid lingering in the open, then board the arriving vehicle. The mounted-gun escape is an on-rails sequence, so concentrate on visible infantry and vehicles rather than trying to explore. When the squad reaches the forest rendezvous, stop at the weapon and ammunition cases before meeting the snipers; the first Dog Tag is there.

Take the laser designator and mark all three armored targets on the road. Wait for the strike, descend toward the data center, and clear the dark server rooms carefully. Plant the first C4 on the marked support, climb to the next floor, and place the second charge. This office area contains Tag 2, so search the sunlit side of the room and the bulletin board on the far side of the nearby pillar before rappelling.

After the rappel, Tag 3 is on a concrete block close to the roof’s initial staging point. Then move to the defensive corner, watch the scaffolding for snipers, and hold until extraction. The final stand after the flight is scripted. Keep fighting and use the weapon provided when prompted; there is no alternate outcome to rescue by repeatedly reloading that section.

Mission 2: The Rock

Gecko begins above the battlefield with a sniper rifle. Immediately after landing, turn back toward the gun emplacement for Tag 4. Then clear the roadblock from range and let Lancer move only after exposed gunners and rooftop enemies are down. Use the high positions with Carter as intended; moving into the same street as the assault team gives up your best advantage.

The tunnel route passes through a museum where weapons are temporarily restricted. Tag 5 is on the large worktable in that quiet section. In the first dark combat room after weapons become available again, destroy at least 10 mannequins for Efficiency. There are enough targets, but finish the count before leaving the underground sequence.

At each battery, thin the defenders from elevation before descending. Use explosives on destructible walls if the direct lane is pinned down. After the first AAA is destroyed, regroup and watch for the reinforcement helicopter near the next combat area. Tag 6 hangs from the door of a supply container there. Pick up the RPG beside the crates, use it against the helicopter and the final AAA, then signal the fleet from the cliff.

Mission 3: Operation Gladius

The opening turret run contains the first missable action: shoot three black floating mines with red lights for Deep-Six. Prioritize mines directly in the vehicle’s path; the machine gun is easier to aim than the grenade launcher for individual targets.

On the beach, use the vehicle weapons to break mounted positions before dismounting. Clear the first infantry area and collect Tag 7 near the raised machine-gun position before joining the friendly armor. The middle of the mission is an escort: infantry will attack from upper windows while enemy vehicles block the streets. Keep the repair tool available, repair between waves, and use C4 or the available anti-armor weapons instead of trading rifle fire with vehicles.

After passing through a building and emerging onto an upper exterior level, check the nearby table for Tag 8 before opening the route forward. The square outside city hall rewards patience; clear windows and perimeter positions before crossing it. Inside city hall, Tag 9 is in the small room immediately to the left of the entrance. Continue upstairs and along the balcony to the final room.

Mission 4: Night Raid

Decide before starting whether this is a normal run or a Sidearm Savant attempt. For that achievement, complete the mission using pistols, knives, and gadgets only. Do not swap away the starting pistol by accident. The required launcher used against the helicopter is treated as a gadget by community-tested achievement routes, but using a picked-up rifle or ordinary primary weapon invalidates the attempt.

Use night vision in the sewer and keep the opening silent. Follow the takedown prompts, move through the shadows, and perform the coordinated elimination at the palace approach. Once the squad cuts the lights inside, stealth gives way to a direct fight. When the palace begins burning and you climb to the upper floor, sweep the room near the squad’s first doorway; Tag 10 is pinned inside its bathroom.

Fight back out of the palace and follow the alleys toward exfil. After passing through a shop and reaching the small football area, check the back-right stairs for Tag 11. When the transport plan fails, battle toward the souk. In the alley after the building where the squad notices the departing helicopter, inspect the open clothing shop with white-shirt mannequins for Tag 12.

The plaza is a holdout rather than a race. Use the perimeter shops for supplies, keep the squad close, and avoid standing in the open when the helicopter turns toward you. After Lopez is hit, enter the indicated basement. Tag 13 is pinned beside the computer area; collect it before taking the launcher upstairs. Wait for the helicopter to slow during its pass, fire, clear the next infantry wave, and repeat until it is destroyed.

Mission 5: No Sleep

Tag 14 is on the left side of the briefing room immediately after entering with Sergeant Acre. During the early house assault, you receive a sledgehammer. Keep it and score five melee kills for Looks Like a Nail; Recruit difficulty makes the approach safer if this is a replay. Do not postpone all five until the final set pieces, where close-range opportunities become less controlled.

Push through the apartments, breach the wall, and cross the rooftops. A cutscene plays after entering the later building; before leaving that room, inspect the far wall or whiteboard area for Tag 15. In the underground passage, watch for red laser lines and disarm the planted traps rather than stepping through them.

The subway vehicle pursuit is fast but linear. After the crash, clear the construction site methodically and use anti-armor tools on the supporting vehicles. When the small helicopter sequence deposits you on the bridge, work through the train wreckage and listen to Murphy’s directions. At the computer carriage, interact with the requested machines along the same wall. Tag 16 is earlier, immediately after the tunnel driving section, on a crate inside the nearby supply container.

Mission 6: Moving Mountains

Bullseye Blitz requires six consecutive headshot hits without a body shot breaking the chain. The first street groups are a good opportunity: switch to single fire, wait for enemies to settle behind cover, and do not spray. A later sniper rifle on the fire-station roof is a slower but cleaner alternative.

Advance through the streets to the fire department, meet the president, and pause before following the squad upstairs. The kitchen or serving area to the right of the stair route holds Tag 17. Clear the rooftop drones, then move with Gecko into Prospect Park. Mark each group, identify the drone operator by the special icon, and eliminate that target before fighting the rest. At the construction-site building, Tag 18 lies between the chairs.

After the fourth operator, plant the charge and defend the presidential vehicle from the mounted gun. The crash sends you into dark subway tunnels. When you reach the brightly lit station platform and clear its large enemy group, Tag 19 is on the center structure below the station map.

Exit to the street and approach the Empire Fulton area. Before committing to the final FOB defense, move into the park northwest of the intersection and climb the short stairs to the body holding Tag 20. At the FOB, use buildings as hard cover, retreat with the friendly line when it gives ground, and keep anti-armor weapons ready for the tanks. The mission finishes by the waterfront after the position is secured.

Mission 7: Nile Guard

This is the cleanest mission for a quick replay because most of it is a tank run. At the first enemy group near the overpass, shoot the bridge support until the road section collapses onto or with the enemy tank. That unlocks Roadside Assistance. If the destruction does not register, restart the early checkpoint rather than finishing the mission and hoping it appears later.

Keep some distance from enemy armor, use the repair points after each major fight, and scan building windows for anti-tank infantry. At the bazaar, repair first and then boost through the center supports when the route opens. Once ordered to dismount, the campaign becomes a short infantry rescue. After passing through the first building, turn right in the open yard and check the base of the tree for Tag 21.

Fight through the next square toward the downed helicopter. Tag 22 is pinned to a wall inside the open building on the right or east side of the combat space. Do not approach the helicopter until it is collected, because that interaction ends the mission.

Mission 8: Operation Ember Strike

Gecko’s drone defines this mission. Before attacking each position, use it to spot enemies and work toward the 20 marks required for Being Watched. A marked battlefield is also much safer because the mission’s open terrain makes an unseen flank expensive.

After the opening drone strike, take the ATV toward the old fort. Stop at the ruined buildings in the valley; Tag 23 is on the floor inside the eastern building. Clear the fort and reveal the SAM network. The three main sites can be tackled in different orders, but Alpha to Bravo to Charlie creates a steady sweep across the area. Shoot the alarm speakers mounted high on poles before the engagement, find a protected drone position, then bomb the AAA. Refill weapons and check buildings for defibrillation charges between sites.

Tag 24 is in the small structure between the brown- and red-roofed houses roughly between the Bravo and Charlie approaches. Later, when the Switchblade launcher is used for the second defensive sequence, climb the hill to the former sniper position for Tag 25. Continue through the power station and use the guided missiles against incoming armor.

At the dam approach, dismount at the obstacles, fight through the construction area, and follow Murphy through the lower section. After the dam-view cutscene, check the supply area by the forklift and ATVs for Tag 26. On the upper road, use the drone to remove entrenched positions, destroy the mobile anti-air equipment, and bring down the helicopter before moving to the center with Hemlock.

Mission 9: Always Forward

Push through the opening outpost with squad commands and use red explosive barrels to break defended buildings. Tag 27 is inside the large garage near the green trucks before the overlook. After the airstrike, follow the friendly armor into the NXC site and clear one position at a time; sprinting ahead of the tanks only exposes you to every roof at once.

On the way to launcher Alpha, the route passes through three buildings. After leaving the third, check the right side near the sandbags and concrete block for Tag 28. When the path is blocked, pick up the anti-air launcher and lock onto the attacking jet until it is destroyed. Near the Alpha missile, go behind the launcher and check the crates beside the helmet for Tag 29 before completing the objective.

After Alpha, enter the available tank. A reinforcement helicopter appears along the road to Bravo. Shoot it down with the tank cannon for No Reinforcements; there are very few valid choppers in this section, so reload promptly if the target escapes. Use the tank until the game forces you back on foot, disable Bravo, and enter the bunker. Tag 30 is on the green crates to the left in the first bunker section. From there the route to Kincaid is linear: clear the halls, use Hemlock or your own explosives on the marked wall, ride the elevator, and follow the escape waypoint after the final encounter.

All 30 Dog Tag checkpoints

The table below is designed for mission replay. The objective text narrows the correct checkpoint; the landmark tells you where to stop before an irreversible door, vehicle, or cutscene. A Tag glint can disappear in smoke or bright lighting, so approach the listed surface even if you cannot see it from a distance.

The five collectible milestones are In Memoriam for the first Tag, Dogs of War at five, Hounds of War at 10, Wolves of War at 20, and Pack Leader for all 30. EA also lists two profile Dog Tags tied to campaign collection: Dead Center for all three collectibles in Always Faithful and Winner Take All for all 30 across the campaign.

Campaign achievement cleanup

Steam currently lists 53 achievements for the whole product, including multiplayer and REDSEC content. The table below isolates the campaign actions that require planning rather than ordinary story completion.

Achievement Requirement Recommended checkpoint Common failure
One Stone Eliminate 3 enemies with one grenade. Always Faithful, around the clustered enemies after the forest. Throwing after the group has scattered.
Peak Performance Complete one campaign mission on Hardcore. Always Faithful if you want it early; Nile Guard if you prefer a shorter replay. Changing difficulty before the mission-complete state registers.
Liquidator Reach 50 campaign headshot kills. Accumulates across the campaign. Assuming it must be completed in one mission.
Armor Annihilation Destroy 10 enemy vehicles in single player. Operation Gladius, Nile Guard, and Always Forward. Letting friendly AI land every finishing shot.
End of an Era Find the dinosaur in Always Faithful. The opening room, before following the squad. Leaving the room without turning around.
Efficiency Destroy 10 mannequins in The Rock. First dark museum combat rooms. Counting only mannequins that enemies were hiding beside.
Deep-Six Destroy 3 floating mines in Operation Gladius. Opening mounted-turret ride. Focusing exclusively on shore targets.
Sidearm Savant Finish Night Raid with only pistols, knives, or gadgets. Entire mission; the required launcher is used for the helicopter. Picking up or firing a primary weapon.
Looks Like a Nail Kill 5 enemies with the sledgehammer in No Sleep. Early building assault after receiving it. Saving the attempt for later ranged encounters.
Bullseye Blitz Land 6 consecutive headshot hits in Moving Mountains. Opening street or fire-station rooftop. Landing a body shot between headshots; misses appear to be safer than body hits.
Roadside Assistance Collapse an overpass on a tank in Nile Guard. First bridge and enemy-armor group. Destroying the tank before dropping the bridge.
Being Watched Spot 20 enemies with the drone in Operation Ember Strike. Across the three open SAM sites. Bombing a group before marking its members.
No Reinforcements Shoot down a reinforcement helicopter with a tank. Road from Alpha to Bravo in Always Forward. Driving past the limited helicopter window.

The ordinary completion achievements arrive after specific missions: Stand Alone, Rock of Gibraltar, Devil in the Dark, Secret Service, High Roller, Damned If You Do, and finally Cloak and Dagger for finishing the campaign. If a challenge does not appear immediately, first allow the end cutscene and next mission state to load. Community reports describe occasional tracking delays; replaying the relevant checkpoint or mission is safer than stacking several unconfirmed conditions on one run.

Hardcore route and efficient final cleanup

EA identifies a full-campaign Hardcore reward called Elegant Ballistics, a Weapon Package for the B36A3 Assault Rifle. Hardcore provides no revive charges at the start of a mission and none to find in the level, so a collectible-first Hardcore run creates unnecessary risk.

  1. Finish once on Normal. Learn every forced vehicle exit, holdout, and anti-armor spawn. Collect obvious Tags, but do not turn each battle into a blind search.
  2. Replay incomplete missions on Recruit. Use the 30-row table to clean up Tags and the dinosaur. Finish a special mission action during the same replay when it does not conflict with collection.
  3. Do a dedicated Night Raid run. Sidearm Savant restricts weapons for the whole mission, so it deserves its own clean attempt.
  4. Clear short action achievements. Reload early checkpoints for Deep-Six, Efficiency, Roadside Assistance, Bullseye Blitz, Being Watched, and No Reinforcements rather than replaying the full story blindly.
  5. Start Hardcore only after the route is familiar. Stay behind the squad, expose one angle at a time, retain anti-vehicle tools, and never cross open space before rooftop specialists are removed.

Hardcore encounter habits

  • At infantry positions, break a new wall or rotate to a second window instead of repeatedly peeking the same lane.
  • During armor missions, repair at every safe opportunity. A damaged friendly vehicle is a checkpoint risk, not a time-saving shortcut.
  • In holdouts, identify the resupply route before the wave begins. Do not wait until the magazine and gadget are both empty.
  • For Operation Ember Strike, scout and mark a complete site before the first shot. Starting the alarmed fight from the low ground is the avoidable mistake.
  • For Always Forward, use friendly tanks as mobile hard cover but move away before a heavily damaged vehicle explodes.
