The Incident at Galley House Walkthrough: Scene Codes and Achievements

John Hobbes and Harry Thornton beside a car on Quail Lane in The Incident at Galley House

A reconstruction in The Incident at Galley House can be wrong by one person and still look perfectly logical. The time can be right, the room can be right, and the visible speakers can all be selected, yet the machine refuses the code because somebody forgotten was also present. That becomes especially important after the modern investigation exposes ID 64 and silently changes four earlier participant sets.

The opening roadside memory establishes the three-part method: locate a moment, identify its room, then account for every person inside it. Official Steam screenshot.

This spoiler-heavy walkthrough is built as a repair tool for that problem. It gives the opening route, all 16 location abbreviations, both character rosters, all 106 valid scene slots, the four later code updates, and a one-save path through all 15 Steam achievements. Use only the section that matches your current blocker if you still want to solve the rest of the case yourself.

Launch boundary: the evidence set was frozen on July 17, 2026. Steam AppID 3641000 lists a July 14, 2026 release by William Rous and Evil Trout Inc. The newest official notice captured for this guide is the July 15 patch, which adjusted the hint system, corrected saved notebook lines, changed the Japanese-locale notebook key, improved the Chinese translation, and addressed crashes on some Intel GPUs. If the live machine, notebook, or hint behavior differs from this page, follow the current client and newer developer notes.

Read a rejected reconstruction as evidence

The machine wants time + location + every participant. For example, 01-QU-1-11 means Time 01, Quail Lane, People 1 and 11. A rejected entry is not proof that all three parts are wrong. Check them in this order:

  1. Participant set: include silent, forgotten, or newly revealed people, not only the characters currently speaking.
  2. Location calibration: a correct two-letter abbreviation must exist in the Locations panel before the room can be selected.
  3. Active access card: Times 01-26 belong to the historical case; the later IDs require the Admin card. Swap cards when checking the other timeline.
  4. Changed memory: once ID 64 is exposed, revisit the Attic at 27, Billiard Room at 29, Study at 30, and Kitchen at 31 with that person added.
  5. Intentional failure: 32-LI-70 and 01-HE-L-P are achievement inputs, not missing valid memories. Do not count them among the scene slots.

When a code fails, preserve the parts already supported by the timeline and test the missing participant before abandoning the time or room. Official Steam screenshot.

Use the Timeline as a constraint board. A person and a room cannot be in two different memories at the same time, so a completed slot removes possibilities elsewhere. Follow one person’s last known movement, compare it with an unused room at the same time, and then add anyone the dialogue says entered, left, called, or was no longer remembered. That is deduction, not blind brute force.

Start with the six-scene chain the house gives you

At the front door, take the newspaper from the bag, inspect the window and door, then enter when it opens. Pick up Manual Page 1 and the nearby operating checklist. Charge the generator with the wheel, create the Access Card with the hand display, insert it, and run automatic People calibration. Add QU, EN, LI, and ST under Locations.

  1. 01-QU-1-11 opens Quail Lane. The invitation and the butler’s language begin separating John Hobbes from Harry Thornton.
  2. 02-EN-1-6-7-10 moves the group inside and lets you name Person 6 as Eddie Galley and Person 7 as Vic.
  3. 03-LI-1-4-5-6-7-8-9 introduces the main gathering. Update John, Martha, Damian, Vic, Tony, Eddie, and Helen before following their exits.
  4. 04-ST-1-5-8 reveals the unidentified body in the Study. The fact that nobody remembers him is a case constraint, not scenery.
  5. 05-DI-1-5 confirms the gathering’s organizer and points John back toward the butler.
  6. 06-ST-1-11 identifies Thornton and yields the next manual material. From here, the case branches rather than continuing as one corridor.

Do not force a single chronological march after this point. The machine often gives information in one time slot that unlocks an earlier one. Work outward from named destinations, body discoveries, thunderclaps, relationship statements, and physical evidence. The full list below is chronological for lookup, not a claim that the game expects that input order.

Keep rooms and people on one lookup sheet

Code Location Code Location
AT Attic BI Billiard Room
CH Chapel DI Dining Room
ED Eddie’s Room EN Entrance
HE Helen’s Room KI Kitchen
LI Living Room MA Martha’s Room
OS Oswald’s Room QU Quail Lane
ST Study TO Tony’s Room
VI Victoria’s Room WI Wintercote

House Tour and Full House test different states. Full House needs every location calibrated in the machine. House Tour needs a viewed scene in every required room. If Full House appears first, inspect the Timeline for an empty bedroom, Attic, Billiard Room, or Chapel rather than recalibrating rooms you already own.

ID Historical identity Photo match Why the profile matters
1 John Hobbes Lark His invitation, muddy shoes, and movements anchor the case from Quail Lane to Time 26.
2 Annie Beaumont Badger Her links to Vic and Katherine connect the Attic, bedrooms, and Chapel chain.
3 Oswald Galley Toad The Chapel key, family sketch, and his room history resolve the late house route.
4 Tony Dauer Otter The watch, smoking clues, and family links separate him from the other men.
5 Martha Galley Hedgehog The missing ring, perfume, and burned photographs link her private scenes.
6 Edmund “Eddie” Galley Weasel His relationships with Evelyn and Vic connect the kitchen, billiards, and bedroom branches.
7 Victoria “Vic” Beaumont Raven Her sister, mother, Damian, and Eddie connections bridge most family subplots.
8 Damian Maseko Pike His arrival, medical judgment, and link to Vic place several early scenes.
9 Helen Dauer Ewe The dinner stain and Dauer relationships identify her movements before Time 12.
10 Evelyn “Eve” Dauer Goose Her condition, cocoa clue, and search for Thornton establish the first death chain.
11 Harry Thornton Cod Butler clothing and kitchen work connect the opening to the first scripted outage.
12 Rupert Galley Fox This profile must be created manually; it explains the forgotten Study body.
K Katherine Beaumont Deer This lettered profile and Wintercote resolve the distant Time 25 thunderclap.

Names and portraits are working deductions: each match should explain a movement, relationship, object, injury, or room, not merely fill a label. Official Steam screenshot.

Fill Times 01-26 without losing the death chain

These are the 88 ordinary historical reconstructions. Person 12 and Person K are separated into the next section because their profiles require deductions outside the normal 1-11 roster. The final Scene 00 is also held back until the modern case is finished.

The list is also a diagnostic map. If a Time 13 slot is still empty, compare the six single-room branches before searching the entire case. If the chain stalls around Times 17-20, follow the person who just left the Dining Room, Kitchen, Martha’s Room, or Attic. At Times 21-26, the Chapel and John’s final route matter more than another sweep of the crowded dinner scenes.

Create the two people the normal roster cannot hold

Person 12: the Study contains a body that the known guests do not remember. The numbered IDs form a death-order countdown, so the victim before Person 11 is not another ordinary slot after 1-11; it is 12. Add 12 through Manual Calibration. Name that entry Rupert Galley and match it to Fox before using this reconstruction:

01-ST-12

This reconstruction unlocks Inciting Incident. Label the manual entry Rupert Galley and pair him with Fox. The dropped cane, piano connection, old leg injury, invitation, and family references support that match rather than a random avatar choice.

Person K: the thunderclap before John’s fall cannot mark John as the same kind of forgotten victim; his body is recognized. The phone calls and Beaumont relationships point beyond the house to Katherine, while dialogue places her in Wintercote. Create manual entry K, label it Katherine Beaumont, pair it with Deer, and calibrate WI. Then enter:

25-WI-K

This unlocks Not Over Yet. A launch-week guide printed 25-KI-K in one explanatory passage, but its own answer section and the other complete references use 25-WI-K; Wintercote is the location supported by the evidence.

Swap cards for the modern investigation

After the historical case reaches its transition, take the Admin card from the newly revealed body and replace the original Access Card. Do not erase the historical roster; the two cards let you move between cases. The modern IDs are:

ID Identity Role or profile Use in the reconstruction
64 Edwin Dolskey No longer at the company Appears late, changes four earlier participant sets, and dies at the Chapel.
65 Sam Moore Managing Director D&M leadership identity; connected to the Dining and Billiard Room branches.
66 Meg Patterson Technical Engineer Handles the bag, generator, ID list, and several forgotten handoffs.
67 Lawrence Dunn Machine Supervisor The Admin card holder whose remembered movements open the new case.
70 Reya Beckon Junior Engineer The player character; her survival is the basis of the Still Alive input.
73 Mason Gibbs Geography Teacher Outside contractor linked to Sam, Pippa, and the Billiard Room.
74 Pippa Smith Researcher Her work on the machine connects Reya, Lawrence, and the Study.
75 Jacqueline Lawyer The remaining contractor profile in the Attic memory.

Start with 31-LI-67-70. The note supplies the time, while the piano and fireplace identify the Living Room; Reya witnessed Lawrence’s disappearance. That memory gives the ID list needed to solve the other branches.

These are 15 scene slots, not 15 permanently frozen participant strings. The machine can accept the shorter version when the forgotten person has not yet been restored to the record. After ID 64 appears, four of those memories reveal that he was present too.

Revisit four memories after ID 64 appears

After the later generator reset exposes Edwin Dolskey as Person 64, return to these slots and add him:

Earlier accepted entry Updated participant set Room check
27-AT-66-75 27-AT-64-66-75 Attic
29-BI-73 29-BI-64-73 Billiard Room
30-ST-67-74 30-ST-64-67-74 Study
31-KI-66 31-KI-64-66 Kitchen

This is the safest first check when Spectronoeticist remains locked after the credits. Some early lists preserve only the pre-reveal codes; another incomplete launch list mislabels the Kitchen slot as Time 32. The completed scene references agree on Time 31 for the Kitchen memory and Time 32 for 32-CH-64.

Once Person 64’s Study and Chapel trail is complete, the scanner provides a Time 00 group image. Use the Living Room painting to place it, and select Oswald, Martha, Eddie, Vic, Damian, Evelyn, and Rupert:

00-LI-3-5-6-7-8-10-12

Do not replace Rupert with John. Several launch-week pages printed a conflicting group, but the completed-save achievement references, updated scene list, and group-photo identification converge on Person 12 and exclude Person 1. Watching this reconstruction triggers Hallucination; if every other valid slot is already filled, Spectronoeticist should unlock with it.

Turn the solved timeline into all 15 achievements

Achievement Reliable trigger Best time to check it
Seance View any first valid reconstruction, such as 01-QU-1-11. Opening setup
Persistence Submit exactly the same incorrect code twice. Opening, before the roster becomes crowded
Machine Supervisor Restore power after the first scripted outage. Story progression
Researcher Restore power after the second scripted outage. Story progression
House Tour Make sure each required room has a watched memory, not only a calibrated name. Before final cleanup
Technical Engineer Restore power after the third scripted outage. Story progression
Full House Calibrate all 16 listed locations. As new rooms are mentioned
Not Over Yet Create K/Katherine/Deer and view 25-WI-K. Late historical case
A Shocking Revelation Complete the required original case and continue into the modern body reveal. Story transition
Inciting Incident Create 12/Rupert/Fox and view 01-ST-12. After the forgotten Study victim is understood
Death Note At a confirmed death time, use Reminders to apply the skull icon. After Person 12 establishes Time 01
Hallucination View 00-LI-3-5-6-7-8-10-12. Final reconstruction
Spectronoeticist Find all valid scenes across both cards, including the four ID 64 updates. Completed-save audit
Still Alive With Admin Access active, attempt 32-LI-70. Modern cleanup
TYPE HE-L-P Manually create profiles L and P, then submit 01-HE-L-P. After real hidden profiles are organized

Persistence and Still Alive are different failures. Persistence needs the same ordinary bad entry twice. Still Alive needs a single attempt to reconstruct a moment containing only the surviving Reya after Admin Access is available. Death Note is also an interface action: merely viewing a death does not place the skull reminder for you.

When one slot is still dark

  1. Switch to the historical card and verify all 88 ordinary Time 01-26 entries, then confirm 01-ST-12 and 25-WI-K.
  2. Compare the Locations panel with the 16-code table. If Full House is unlocked but House Tour is not, find a room with no viewed scene.
  3. Switch to the Admin card and verify the 15 modern slots. After Person 64 appears, replay the four updated participant sets rather than trusting the earlier silhouettes.
  4. Submit 32-LI-70 for Still Alive and 01-HE-L-P for TYPE HE-L-P; neither should be counted as a valid scene.
  5. Return to the historical card for 00-LI-3-5-6-7-8-10-12. If Hallucination unlocks without Spectronoeticist, the missing item is an earlier scene, not another ending.

A nearly correct entry should narrow the case, not send you back to the first room. Preserve the supported time and location, inspect who has been erased from that memory, and check whether your current card and profile database can represent them. That method solves the machine’s hardest rejections and also gives the cleanest route through the completion audit.
