Deltarune Chapter 5 Secret Boss: 10 Pink Coin Route and Pink Fight

Kris, Susie, and Ralsei at the Deltarune Chapter 5 festival

The Pink Door is not the start of Deltarune Chapter 5’s secret-boss quest. It is the end of a late-chapter recovery loop. First, reach Green’s final shop so the shortcut doors activate. Then take ten Pink Coins from the Garden, Cliffs, and Top of Castle, trade them for the MysteryKey at the Cliffs shop, and return to the door. The fight beyond it changes the problem again: Pink cuts the party’s maximum TP to 8, so survival depends on rebuilding that limit during attacks instead of arriving with a full meter.

This guide gives one compact ten-coin route and a decision plan for the optional fight. It deliberately does not turn Chapter 5 into a full story walkthrough or send a normal-route player through the Weird Route. Major Chapter 5 and secret-boss spoilers begin below.

Patch boundary: checked July 18, 2026. Chapter 5 launched on June 24, and the latest official PC/Mac chapter version found during research was 0.0.247, released July 9. That patch fixed several platforming and collision failures, including a floor clip after certain platforming encounters. Confirm the version in the lower-right corner of the chapter file-select screen if a jump, Pink Door transition, or boss action behaves differently.

Wait for the doors, then count what the chapter already gave you

The route becomes efficient only after the shortcut network wakes up beside Green’s shop near the Top of Castle. Earlier doors are visible throughout the Garden and Cliffs, but they are inactive. Hunting every coin on first contact creates long return trips and makes similar rooms harder to distinguish.

Once Green’s last shop and the active door are available, save and check how many Pink Coins you already collected. Chapter 5 contains 19. The key costs ten, so any coins found during normal exploration reduce this route. Do not assume that a bell or pink container you saw was collected: revisit the landmark and confirm that it is empty before crossing it off.

The circuit below selects four coins in the Garden, four in the Cliffs, and the two beside the Top of Castle’s optional branch. It avoids the five-fox room, the east-castle shadow puzzles, the hot-spring detours, and the long west-castle return. Those remain useful later, but they are unnecessary if the immediate goal is opening the Pink Door.

Sweep the Garden from two shortcut doors

Start at the Hopschef door. This anchor produces two coins on opposite sides, so finish both before changing destinations.

  1. Water the hidden west exit. Move one room west from Hopschef and carry the watering tool to the far-left growth. Watering it creates the route into the river room. Climb to the chest above the water for the first coin.
  2. Clear the Starwalker branch. Return to Hopschef, enter platforming mode, and go east. Follow the leaf and torii-gate challenge to its terminal room rather than leaving as soon as the route turns upward. Ring the bell or open the reward after the encounter for coin two.

Use the door and choose End of Garden next. Go right until the Petal Feather can switch the room into platforming mode. The coin is found by reversing the expected direction: run back left through the speed gate, finish the combat pattern, and break or strike the pink reward at the far end. That is coin three.

For coin four, warp to Near Shrine. Climb the Petal Feather shrine from its upper-left approach. At the roofline, continue right beyond the leaves instead of returning to the main stair. The pink bell hangs off the shrine’s high-right side. If it looks unreachable, the missing step is usually the last leaf just outside the obvious screen edge, not a new ability.

Make the Cliffs a climb with four proof points

The Cliffs coins test whether late shortcuts changed rooms that were already completed. Treat each coin as a separate proof point; do not count a familiar landmark as a pickup.

  1. First Climb, reopened alcove: take the First Climb door and enter the first platforming cave. A return visit exposes a vine route that was not useful on the first pass. Ride it and jump left into the small recess for coin five.
  2. First Climb, water drop: continue beyond that platform room to the long downhill section. Loop around on the left side and climb toward the timed water. Let the water catch Kris during the final wall section; it drops the party through the path holding coin six. This is one of the few pickups where avoiding the hazard can prevent progress.
  3. Cliffs Shop, windmill branch: warp to the Shop and travel two rooms to the right. In platforming mode, use Susie’s strike on the high windmill so the air carries the party right. Return to the bottom, place Ralsei under the moving route, and use him to reach the concealed right-hand path. The encounter and pink reward at its end give coin seven.
  4. Netskie Climb, uninterrupted dash: use the Netskie Climb door and enter its running section. Preserve momentum through the square room and make the far jump. The first visit was interrupted by Aqua and Seth; the cleared return route continues to coin eight.

If the total is lower than expected, recheck the water drop and Netskie landing first. Both can feel complete even when the character was returned to the safe route before touching the coin.

Use the left fork once and finish beside the Pink Door

Warp to Green’s Shop at the Top of Castle and go one room right into the large team platforming chamber. Reach the top and take the left fork. The right fork advances the chapter; it does not lead to the hidden fight.

A hole partway along the left route drops toward the Pink Door, but pass it on the first approach. Continue left across the harder flower jumps until the path puts coin nine directly in front of the party. If you continue to the artist-room detour, use the return flower to come back; that material is optional and not needed for the key.

On the return, take the lower opening that was skipped. During the fall, break the blue petals and move through the gaps in Yellow’s rings. The landing room contains a save point, its own shortcut door, the locked Pink Door, and coin ten. Activate the local shortcut before leaving. It converts the last shopping trip into two warps instead of a repeated platforming run.

Trade ten coins for access, then rebuild the inventory

Use the Pink Door shortcut to reach the Cliffs Shop. The shop now sells the key; the item label appears as MysteryKey in current guide captures, while some references spell it out as Mysterious Key. Buy it with ten Pink Coins, warp back to Pink Door, and unlock the entrance.

The first room beyond the door is not the attack. Orange leaves, and a save point remains before the actual encounter. Use it. Fill all 12 item slots with recovery that is valuable to this party, not with collectibles that happen to occupy space. If TrueTie is available from synthesis, its Puppet/Cat damage reduction is directly relevant to this battle. High defense still helps, but one character surviving comfortably does not solve a fight that needs the party to cooperate on Doki-building ACTs.

Readable sources use two labels for the opponent. The encounter and current in-game-style guides call her Pink; another walkthrough identifies the character as Mad Mew Mew. This article uses Pink because that is the battle label and avoids treating a cross-game identity interpretation as a separate mechanic.

The fight is three Doki cycles, not an HP race

Pink’s opening tea changes the SOUL to purple and caps maximum TP at 8. Attacking HP is not the reliable route through the encounter. The loop is:

  1. survive a Purple SOUL pattern while collecting only safe hearts;
  2. use those hearts to raise both current TP and the maximum TP ceiling;
  3. let Ralsei use LovelyBoy early when the party can afford the turn, adding 14 to the ceiling;
  4. spend the larger meter on efficient Flirt ACTs to fill Doki;
  5. clear the Date sequence, then expect TP capacity to collapse again for the next cycle.

Regular individual Flirt actions are useful while the ceiling is tiny or when a downed teammate increases their value. Once the meter is larger, the group and Mega variants move Doki faster per action. Susie’s ShareFood can convert an item into Doki, but it is an emergency finish when the meter is one short, not a reason to throw away the healing reserve early.

Do not spend every new point immediately. A turn with 38 maximum TP and almost no current TP is not ready for a large ACT. Defend, take a safe heart line, or use a recovery option that also supports TP. The target is a usable reservoir, not just a bigger number printed beside an empty bar.

Read each attack as geometry before chasing hearts

Pattern First safety question When a heart is worth taking
Mew Mew Parade Which of the three rails has a gap arriving at the SOUL’s current column? Take a heart when it lies inside that gap. Do not cross two occupied rails for one point.
Bomb Rush Which grid point is outside every marked bomb row and column after the short fuse? Wait until a safe point is identified. Pink hearts can be destroyed by later blasts, so an early grab is often a trap.
Idol or Mad Dummy Concert Where will a dummy projectile cross Pink’s path without crossing the SOUL’s escape line? This is the best rebuilding window. Redirect a shot into Pink, move aside, then collect the released cluster.
Big Sphere or Mega Mew Is the incoming circle whole, or is its missing half creating a center lane? Use the five anchor points first. Take the larger heart only when it is already on the safe side.
Tunnel of Love Which ring segment remains open, and is the electrified outer edge catching up? Advance enough to stay off the edge, pause to read the next ring, and graze for hearts only after the route is visible.

Bomb patterns punish greed more severely than the rail attacks. Start near the middle of the 3-by-3 grid, wait for the crosses to become readable, and move once to a verified point. Running as soon as the first bomb lands often places the SOUL on the line chosen by the next bomb.

Use the Dates as reset warnings

The first Doki target is 15. Clearing it enters a short visual-novel sequence and advances the encounter, but it also removes the TP capacity just built. Heal before contributing the final Doki if the party is in poor shape; surplus TP will not carry its current value into the next round.

The second cycle also asks for 15 Doki. Pink’s ghost and body then present conflicting prompts. The correct response is the option whose double meaning can satisfy both sides. The exact set is randomized, so a fixed three-answer list is less useful than reading both prompt columns before moving. A wrong choice deals party damage but does not require restarting the entire coin route.

The last cycle raises the target to 20 and accelerates the earlier attacks. Rebuild maximum TP before trying to force four or five separate low-value ACTs through the dangerous final patterns. In the third Date, the obvious hostile tiles are not answers. Move along the track to expose hearts and safe choices, then use the marked safe points while the moving tiles pass.

After that sequence, Pink gives several quiet turns. Flirting no longer advances the fight there, so repair the party and follow the reconciliation prompts. Winning awards the Chapter 5 Shadow Crystal. If a player only wants the crystal and the chapter completion marker, the objective is complete at that point.

The nine remaining coins are a build choice, not loose change

The key consumes ten of 19 Pink Coins. After Pink, the route north opens a shop with six unique equipment choices. Each costs three of the remaining coins plus Flowery currency, which means a single file can buy only three of the six. The current 0.0.247-era descriptions support these roles:

Item Practical reason to choose it
SethSpecs Armor for a player who benefits more from a longer post-hit invulnerability window and extra magic than from raw offense.
BlueShoes Ralsei weapon that removes Pacify’s TP cost, useful when TIRED management competes with healing spells.
AquaKnife Kris weapon that favors critical timing while adding a small defensive component.
YellowHat Balanced armor whose spell boost matters most on Susie or Ralsei rather than Kris.
O. Glove Defensive armor for a Susie build that plans to use SCYTHEMARE and values its lower TP demand.
GreenApron High-defense sustain armor that restores a portion of maximum HP when its wearer Defends.

Do not buy the first three merely to clear the shelf. Compare the live tooltips with the equipment already carried from earlier chapters, because transferred items can change which upgrade is meaningful. Ferroll can help locate the nine uncollected coins after the fight if that service was unlocked in the run.

Diagnose the route before repeating it

Problem Likely cause Next check
Shortcut doors are inert The story has not reached Green’s final shop. Continue the normal Castle route; do not repeat Garden rooms yet.
The Pink Door is found but remains locked Ten coins do not open it directly. Activate its local shortcut, warp to Cliffs Shop, and buy MysteryKey.
The circuit ends at nine coins A hazard or landing was passed without touching its reward. Recheck the First Climb water drop, Netskie far jump, then the upper Top of Castle branch.
Maximum TP never rises above 8 The party is spending the opening meter without building capacity. Use LovelyBoy early and collect safe hearts during the next pattern.
Bomb Rush feels random The SOUL is moving before all row-and-column threats are visible. Hold a central point for the fuse delay, mark the crosses, then make one move.
A Date erased the TP plan The reset is part of the phase transition. Enter each Date healed, then rebuild the ceiling rather than saving for a meter that will not persist.
