Melino pays off when one outing advances several ledgers instead of one distant icon.

Route boundary: this town plan is written for Paralives Early Access through hotfix 0.1.6b on July 17, 2026. Request behavior, bundle requirements, venue hours, and rewards can change between patches. Read the current board, goal card, bundle panel, and map hours before committing inventory or a full day.

Melino becomes wasteful when every icon is treated as a separate trip. A Para walks to a Request Board, returns home for a skill object, crosses town to hand in the task, then notices that a newspaper event and a museum donation were on the same route. The stronger plan is to leave home with four ledgers in mind: today’s requests, today’s event, carried donations, and one optional discovery. The castle passage is the discovery at the end of this route, not the first stop.

Do the desk work before the Para starts walking

Pause at home and inspect the newspaper, the Goals tab, the Para’s inventory, and the map. The newspaper can announce clubs, markets, treasure hunts, or public activities. Since patch 0.1.6, participating in a town event can boost skill-learning speed, so an event that matches the Para’s current requirement should anchor the trip.

Pack only items with a destination. Keep meals, canvases, found objects, or other request goods in the correct Para’s inventory, and leave open slots for mushrooms, buried finds, or rewards. Check needs before departure; a full-day route is not efficient if the Para abandons it for Sleep halfway across town.

Build the outing in this order:

  1. nearest Request Board or visible Townie request;
  2. event or venue that can satisfy the request;
  3. museum or Community Center if the inventory already contains a valid contribution;
  4. request hand-in while the issuer is available;
  5. castle passage only if needs and venue time still allow it.

Accept a request with the Para who can finish it

A yellow exclamation point above a Request Board means work is available. Current readable references report that boards refresh daily, can show up to three tasks, and share the same pool across town. Traveling to another board or switching households is therefore not a reliable reroll.

The Para who opens the board does not have to receive the task. The active Para at acceptance gets it, so switch control before clicking Accept. Afterward, open the Goals tab marked by the exclamation icon. Use the magnifying-glass control beside a request to locate its relevant place or object; a question-mark control can open the related Help entry.

Choose by dependency, not reward text:

Request shape Accept when… Main risk
Perform an activity at a venue The venue is open and the Para’s needs can cover the required duration Travel time or interruption prevents enough active hours from counting.
Bring crafted items The household owns the required station and can move the finished objects into inventory Leaving the objects on the lot does not satisfy an inventory check.
Buy and place objects The purchase also improves the home and the budget has slack Six cheap objects can still block routes or create a bill problem.
Talk or use a Together Card The target is available and the Para has time to build the required social state The needed card may not appear in the first conversation.
Find a random world object You already planned a broad town route Spawn locations may vary, so a narrow location claim can waste the day.

Stable examples in the current request pool include exercising at the gym, eating at Creme Cafe, placing interior plants, dancing in a park, asking elders for stories, discussing the Community Center in a group, destroying sandcastles, or locating mushrooms. Read the exact count and wording on your card. Launch-week references reported bugs in some beach-cleaning and painting tasks; do not install an old workaround or duplicate an item merely because an early guide suggested it.

Make the activity count before running down the clock

For timed requests, only the active performance time should be treated as progress. Walking to a treadmill, waiting for another Para to move, or standing beside the object is not the same as exercising. Check the card after one short block. If the number does not move, stop and diagnose instead of repeating ten hours of the wrong action.

For inventory requests, finish one item and confirm the card recognizes it before creating the rest. A group meal, painting, anvil, or other object must exist in the form named by the card and be carried by the assigned Para. For social requests, use the named conversation or Together Card; three general chats are not a substitute for “Talk about the Community Center Initiative.”

Patch context matters. Version 0.1.3 made Townie-issued requests fail automatically if the issuing Townie dies. If a task disappears after a life-stage event, that can be intended cleanup rather than a missing reward.

Hand in the work before accepting another dependency

When the request card marks completion, use its Find Parafolk control to move the camera to the issuer. A completed issuer is marked for turn-in. Start a conversation and choose the completion option when it appears. If the Townie is traveling to work or otherwise unavailable, wait for a better time instead of cancelling the card.

Turn-in provides money and a friendship increase, but the route value is larger than the reward: it also puts the Para at a public location, advances a relationship, and may line up with a second venue task. Only then decide whether another board request fits the remaining day.

Separate museum finds from Community Center bundles

The museum and Community Center use different contribution logic.

Museum: inspect the donation box outside and compare the accepted-item prompt with the Para’s inventory. Mushrooms and objects recovered from buried chests are documented donation candidates. The museum advances by number of accepted donations and pays rewards at displayed thresholds. Older community tables conflict and even duplicate one threshold, so this route deliberately does not reproduce a permanent reward chart. Read the current progress meter before sacrificing a rare object.

Community Center: interact with the individual bundle display and read its required set. Readable sources identify Art, Funding, Food, and Technology groupings, but old item and value tables should be treated cautiously. Patch 0.1.5 specifically fixed Art Bundle 2 and lowered the value of the painting required for it, which makes launch-week art requirements stale.

Use three rules for both buildings:

  1. verify that the current panel accepts the exact item before donating;
  2. do not donate the last household copy of a functional object unless the reward justifies replacing it;
  3. save before completing a bundle or crossing a museum reward threshold.

Scan the ground and tall grass while traveling between these buildings. Loose collectibles and buried chests can appear around Melino, but spawns are not reliable enough to promise one permanent route. Treat every found object as an inventory decision: request item, museum donation, bundle component, household tool, or sale.

The castle passage uses landmarks, not a code

The secret begins in the castle-style Townhall and Library at Castle Plaza. Check the venue’s current map hours before entering. Walk up to the white fireplace near the top of the interior stairs; boxes are placed in front of it, and the interaction reads Go through secret passage. References label this as the second or third floor depending on how they count the building, so the fireplace landmark is more reliable than the floor number.

Once inside, a wrong exit returns the Para to the beginning. Use this landmark chain:

  1. In the first room, take the bookshelf on the left.
  2. In the room with two closets or wardrobes, take the one on the right.
  3. In the messy room, choose the right-hand fireplace.
  4. The next chamber is large and contains several shelves and skeletons; take its right-hand bookshelf.
  5. Pass the small golden-toilet area; in the larger bedroom, use the bookshelf.
  6. In the final choice room, take the fireplace on the left.

A compact mnemonic is left shelf, right wardrobe, right fire, right shelf, bedroom shelf, left fire. Pause after each transition and rotate the camera until the landmark matches. Direction is relative to the room view described above; if the camera has spun, identify the furniture before trusting left or right.

Some passage rooms contain wall art that can be sold, while decorative chests are not the goal. Sale values are patch-sensitive, so inspect the current price instead of planning the run around an old total. The bedroom provides a natural needs checkpoint. At the tower, open the gold chest; current walkthrough evidence identifies its distinctive reward as Enroque, a decorative pet rock.

End the trip with four clean ledgers

Before returning home, confirm that every accepted request is completed, intentionally retained, or understood; no museum or bundle item was donated by accident; the event bonus has ended; and the castle reward is in the expected inventory or household storage. Save, then plan the next outing from what remains. Melino stops feeling scattered when the newspaper, requests, donations, and discoveries share one route.

Sources & credits: the official screenshot, open-world scope, developer identity, release status, and media were verified through Paralives on Steam and the official development page. The 0.1.3-0.1.6 request, bundle, and town-event changes were checked against official announcements. Request flow, donation behavior, and the castle landmark chain were reconciled from readable community guides and verified walkthrough references. Steam Community pages that displayed removed/incompatible warnings were used only as cautious cross-checks; their media and wording were not reused.
