The efficient Wax Heads achievement run is not a 28-item scavenger hunt. Eight unlocks sit on the story path, while the real cleanup risk comes from four sorting tasks, one locked room, two Diggy Doggo goals, store purchases, and interactions the game only describes as “multiple”. Protect the early sorting task, keep spending and interacting during the story, then manufacture the few failure-state achievements after your Rad streak is safe.
Current-build boundary: this roadmap was checked on July 19, 2026. Official Patch #1.0.5, released June 10, reduced Book Of Days from 50,000 words to 30,000 words. The older number is still visible on some achievement pages, so the live patch note is the authority used below.
Secure the four sorting tasks before counting anything else
Everything in Its Right Place asks for every sorting puzzle, but the game does not present a permanent checklist. The captured achievement guide places them at four distinct story points:
- Track 1, staff-room pinboard: finish the opening arrangement when Hank pulls you into the poster task. This is the one community guides most often describe as missable, and it also protects Poster Child.
- Track 6: arrange the music accessories when Hank gives you the pre-opening job.
- Track 9: pack the collector’s edition during Paul and Abi’s opening sequence.
- Track 10: complete Abi’s promotional jigsaw. Build the outside corners first, then fill the interior instead of trying to read the fragmented art from the center.
Do not skip a staff task just because the shutters can be opened. Minigames may be skippable for story progression, but a skipped sorting task still leaves this achievement unresolved.
Let the five Sides deliver the automatic story set
These eight achievements need no special answer beyond continuing the current Track:
- Open your Heart – open Repeater Records.
- The First Cut Is the Deepest – finish the first sale.
- Another Day in Paradise – complete Side A.
- Still The Same – complete Side B.
- Eight Days a Week – complete Side C.
- Hero of the Day – complete Side D.
- Just Another Day in Paradise – complete Side E.
- The Show Must Go On – reach the end of the story.
Nothing But The Best is adjacent to this group but not automatic. It requires five correct recommendations in a row. Use Customer Is Always Right if you want rejected records returned, then choose a five-customer stretch you know rather than gambling on a joint order or Track 15’s artificial copies. Turn the staff room into a running counter sheet
Most of the small interaction achievements can be advanced between customers. Treat every staff-room return as a short maintenance stop:
- Over the Rainbow: play the ukulele in the staff room.
- You Decorated My Life: buy the first Wild Kindness item on the laptop.
- Can’t Buy Me Love: continue until ten Wild Kindness purchases have registered. Buy steadily instead of leaving the entire cost for the final Tracks.
- Yummy, Yummy, Yummy: purchase the chocolate-bar item, then use the bar from the close-up record interface until ten eating actions have counted.
- On Repeat: use the laptop to add several records to the room, then spin the new selections on the jukebox. A readable community route reports five purchased records as a reliable setup, but the official achievement text only says “multiple,” so watch for the unlock rather than treating five as a permanent rule.
- Pet Sematary: check the virtual pet repeatedly across the run. There is no verified official press count; make it part of the same maintenance stop as the laptop.
- Sing, Sing, Sing: interact with multiple Phonogram posts and their existing reactions instead of only reading customer-critical updates.
- Push the Button: rotate through the whole register-icon set across your printed receipts so no symbol remains untested. Do not assume normal sales will cover every decorative icon automatically.
Open the storage room, then audit every room once
Behind Closed Doors and Walk the Floor overlap but are not the same check. The employee handbook presents three supernatural images on consecutive pages. Enter them on the storage-room lock as:
Vampire – Witch – Ghost
The storage room sits beside the Diggy Doggo cabinet. Enter it after the lock opens, then visit the rest of the shop as the story exposes the ground floor, upper floor, basement, staff room, and later spaces. An older community note says Behind Closed Doors sometimes unlocked on entering the basement; do not build the route around that bug report. Enter the actual storage room on the current client and use the real achievement pop as the checkpoint.
The Wax Pack receipt keys and their hidden tapes are optional lore, not one of the 28 listed achievements. You may collect them on the same run, but they are not required for Greatest Hits.
Diggy Doggo needs one successful run and ten deliberate failures
The arcade cabinet has two opposing conditions:
- Diggy Diggy Hole: finish Diggy Doggo.
- Live and Let Die: die ten times in Diggy Doggo.
If you are learning the minigame, the failure count may finish naturally before the winning run. If you complete it quickly, return and lose on purpose until the tenth death registers. Count the deaths you see, but let the achievement notification decide when the condition is finished; no official in-game counter was verified in the captured sources.
Create the three customer-state achievements on a safe stretch
Do these after the five-sale streak so a deliberate mistake cannot contaminate Nothing But The Best:
- Waiting for the sun: leave a customer waiting without completing the sale. One community tester observed the unlock after roughly 8-10 minutes, but the official description exposes no fixed threshold. Stay on the customer screen until it appears.
- Baby One More Time: switch to Customer Is Always Right, offer a wrong record, accept the rejection, and offer that same rejected record again. A developer clarification on the readable Steam guide says this became the intended route after v1.0.4.
- Nothing But The Best: return to five known correct recommendations in sequence. Avoid Track 15 unless you are checking the GBP 0.10 receipt price carefully.
Patch #1.0.5 separately fixed a duplicate confirmation prompt when Steven was offered the Jarhead record in Customer Is Always Right mode. Update first if a rejection loop behaves differently from the steps above.
Book Of Days is 30,000 words on the current patch
Book Of Days was launched with a 50,000-word requirement, which is why TrueAchievements and an older trophy article still print that number. The June 10 official notes explicitly changed the unlock to 30,000 words so it can be reached in one English-language playthrough.
Read normal story dialogue, record sleeves, zines, and the other available text rather than skipping through every optional panel. The employee performance interface can be used to inspect progress. If your build still displays or behaves like the older 50,000 target, confirm that the client is updated before beginning a second story run.
Use this 28-entry audit before chasing Greatest Hits

Monster Mash belongs in the staff/exploration group because its condition is to watch every Monster Music interview as the story exposes them. Do not skip an interview expecting a separate video gallery to be confirmed later; the captured official list gives the condition but no verified cleanup menu.
If Greatest Hits is the only locked entry
First count the other 27 individually. Greatest Hits is the meta-achievement and does not replace a missing task. The common ambiguous entries are the Track 1 sorting action, the actual storage-room visit, ten chocolate eating actions, every register icon, the full interview set, and the two Diggy Doggo conditions.
If all 27 are visibly unlocked but the meta still has not appeared, keep the client online, quit and relaunch the game and platform client, and verify the installed files before repeating a story run. Those are community troubleshooting steps, not a guaranteed official fix. Avoid achievement-unlocker tools; they do not establish which in-game condition failed. If the meta remains stuck, preserve the save and report the current build plus the visible 27/28 state to the developer.
Official list, patch record, and evidence limits
The official Steam listing supplied AppID 2769240, Patattie Games and Curve Games credits, the May 5, 2026 release date, and the untouched official JPGs on this page. Steam’s official global list supplied the 28 names and public conditions, while the official June 10 announcement supplied the 30,000-word correction. A readable achievement guide supplied the sorting locations and interaction route but carries a removed/incompatible warning, so its unnumbered repeat actions are written as checkpoints rather than invented permanent counts. The blocked Curve Games page, stale 50,000-word advice, changing completion percentages, third-party images, and unverified videos were excluded.
