INDUSTRIA 2 Walkthrough: Puzzles, Brute, Walter, and Both Endings

Marlene meets Nora in the forest in INDUSTRIA 2

INDUSTRIA 2 has only three chapters, but the route is packed with state-dependent blockers: a part must be moved before a door responds, Marlene has to finish an action before Nora can continue, and the two late keypads must be solved from notes in the current run. This walkthrough follows those dependencies instead of describing every corridor.

Verification date: July 19, 2026. The latest captured official announcement is Update 5, labeled 1.1.2 on May 29. The May 21 update repaired several elevator and save-state failures and added a clearer prompt after Walter’s second phase. If a control, prompt, or saved state differs from the route below, trust the current client and reload a checkpoint from before the broken interaction.

Marlene is both a route marker and part of several progression states; let her dialogue and movement finish before forcing the next device.

Read the route as four kinds of lock

  • Blue wheels and physical gates: a wheel may open a timed route, so locate the exit before committing to the turn.
  • Portable components: modulators, pipe sections, fuses, gears, and belts must be removed from one circuit and inserted into another.
  • Companion states: wait for Marlene to reach her position and complete her line before operating a paired control.
  • Local evidence: read both Chapter 3 keypad notes in your own game. At least one code can vary with difficulty, so a number copied from another playthrough is not dependable.

Save devices and Fabricators are placed immediately before many of these transitions. Use them before moving a component or starting an arena, not after the mechanism has entered a bad state.

Chapter 1 is a tool loop, not a straight line

Leave the first house, follow the shore, pull away the loose boards, and turn the first blue wheel. The opening building teaches the safe pattern for Hollows: take bottles from the cabinet, throw one away from the gap you need, crouch through while the creature investigates, and repeat at the next room. After the second wheel, use the nearby save device before picking up the axe and breaking the blocked route.

Meet Marlene rather than spending resources on the unusually durable Hollow near her entrance. In the hideout, take the backpack, use the bandage, and collect the pistol. At the first factory obstacle, search the cabinet for scrap and gunpowder, craft the requested ammunition, and shoot the mechanism behind the barrier. The next door needs the Petrichor Modulator: remove the portable plug, carry it to the orange-lit socket, and activate it.

The first major backtrack begins at the broken staircase. Pass the chained room, fight or evade the Hollows, turn the wheel that opens the timed gate, and sprint through it. The bolt cutters are upstairs beyond that gate. On the way back, cut the chain at the previously locked room and take the shotgun from the table. It is optional for story progress, but it makes the short-range fights and both bosses much safer.

The bolt cutters turn earlier chained doors into weapon and supply detours; clear those before committing to the next area.

Carry the modulator back to Marlene and install it at the red-lit connection. The outdoor paths beyond the breach rejoin, so use the side buildings for supplies rather than treating one fork as a permanent choice. At the large caged machine, allow Marlene to walk to her wheel and finish speaking. Operate Nora’s wheel only when she is in place. Old launch routes reported that running ahead could leave her repeating dialogue; current patches addressed several save problems, but waiting remains the lowest-risk order.

The Papermill sequence has three recoverable dependencies

After the caged machine separates Nora and Marlene, search the west side of the Cannery before leaving it:

  1. Break the barricade, collect the device beside the body, and put the Motion Sensor in an active slot if you want a read on enemies beyond walls.
  2. Continue through the combat rooms to find the Communications Key and another Blackwood shotgun.
  3. Use the key on the Communications Room, collect the bolt-action rifle, and transmit to Brent.

The Papermill elevator needs two fuses. From its box, the route to Management runs through the wall gap and the conveyor rooms. One fuse sits in the Management office beside the note that gives the Storage code; the second is inside Storage. A readable secondary route recorded 6993, but the reliable method is to copy the number displayed on the office note in the current client. Return both fuses to the elevator box before pulling the lever.

When the large machine appears after the descent, do not fight it. Turn right, crouch through the low gap, run to the blue wheel, and close the gate behind Nora. The next wheel opens the route back to Marlene. If an older save restores the elevator without its correct items, use a save from before installing the fuses or load a fresh chapter checkpoint; the official May 21 note warns that a fix cannot reconstruct items already lost inside an affected save.

To drain the Papermill, open the left route, climb to the upper control, and use its button to restore the lift. Ride down, then follow the yellow cables from the cable-car call button to Maintenance. Pull the Maintenance switch, return along those same cables, call the car again, ride across, and throw the lever in the control room. The lowered water exposes the basement path back to Marlene and closes Chapter 1.

Chapter 2’s wall panel has two separate answers

Search the opening houses, then follow Marlene through the ruined approach to the Atlas Wall. Ranged ant-like enemies are easier to thin with the rifle before they can surround Nora. At the floor panel, the first objective is the upper-left route: activate all three positions in the third row. Cross the raised platforms, survive the alarm near the lift, ride it upward, and collect the component at the top.

Back at the panel, clear the three previous positions. For the second state, activate only the two available positions in the far-right column. Follow the new platforms and insert the component into the socket on the left. The path through the orange-lit tunnel leads to the Inner City.

Chapter 2 repeatedly reuses parts between nearby sockets; check both sides of a closed door before assuming the component is missing.

In the Inner City building, stop partway down the stairs and cross the plank bridge into the room on the right. Crawl through the wall opening to take the Communications Key, then unlock the door you passed. Farther inside, remove the large pipe-like component from its first circuit to open Marlene’s side, then install it in the opposite circuit to open Nora’s exit. The following drops are one-way, so finish the rooms above before going down.

Outside, use the rifle against armed Hollows and operate the lever in the upper room to open the next gate. At the rail area, collect the ammunition before moving Module B from the north connection to the left socket. Continue through the train and underground route. Near the arena, drop the pipe section, connect the circuits, and move the remaining module to the north-side socket. That action starts the Brute fight.

The Brute is a regeneration puzzle with an add wave

Use cover and remove the Brute’s yellow-lit components. When no weak component is exposed, shotgun blasts and nearby TNT can push the damage cycle forward. Once the outer parts are gone, the cage rises and the machine attempts to rebuild. Clear the smaller enemies first, then repeat the weak-part sequence; blowing a TNT barrel while the Brute is beside it shortens the cycle.

Do not chase the boss through an add wave and lose the arena’s supply route. The reliable rhythm is: break a glowing part, reposition behind cover, remove the newly spawned Hollows, then return to the Brute. After it falls, loot before using the northern exit. Let Marlene finish at the shutter, follow her through Registration, and pull the requested lever to end Chapter 2.

Chapter 3 makes both keypad notes part of the route

After the transport attack, use the first Fabricator and clear the armed agents around the elevator. On the approach to Balstad, avoid walking into the open northern lane. Move west through the damaged wall and use the circular opening to engage from cover. The first keypad note is beyond the crouch opening: climb the stairs, check the room on the right, then enter the second room on the left and the inner room on its left. Copy that run’s code and return to the northern gate.

In the mines, use the save room on the left, open the sliding gate, pull the minecart back, and operate the lift. Pipe bombs are efficient against the clustered creatures, but forward movement is often safer than trying to clear an endless-looking group. Use the raised platform to break pursuit, deal with the agents beyond it, then follow the green light to the descending elevator.

The second keypad note is near the Atlas Core. After leaving the elevator, work through the rooms without giving up cover against armed Hollows. Take the note from the room on the left, then backtrack to the earlier combat area and climb the broken staircase on the right. Its number opens the shutter above. Again, use the note rather than a code from another difficulty.

The final mechanism needs two physical parts. One route is blocked by a hanging cylinder: go below, shoot the rope, return upstairs, and take the exposed gear. The other part is across the water and beside the low passage. Install both pieces in the mechanism, descend, and pull the lever to raise the lift into the Outer Rings.

The last chapter shifts from local machinery to the Core, but its two keypads still depend on nearby written evidence.

Walter has three phases and only one damages the pillars

Opening phase: stay behind the arena cover until Walter’s firing burst ends. Close distance, use the shotgun on the middle section to force a stun, then damage the exposed orange core. A pipe bomb can be thrown into the open center for a larger hit. Return to cover before the next volley rather than trading damage.

Shield phase: the center becomes protected and Hollows enter the arena. Walter now marks Nora’s position for a delayed laser blast. The four shielded pillars cannot be destroyed by ordinary weapons. Stand with a pillar behind Nora, wait for the targeting mark to settle, then move away so Walter’s blast hits the pillar. Repeat for all four while clearing enough adds to keep an escape lane open.

Final phase: after the fourth pillar breaks, speak to Marlene. The May 21 update added a prompt here because players mistook the pause for a softlock. Walter rises again; stun the middle, close in on the revealed core, and shoot it. Repeat until an interaction prompt appears on the fallen machine.

The last choice is isolated after the fight. Destroying ATLAS produces Stay; sparing it produces Leave. A verified completion route reports that the final autosave can be reloaded for the other decision, so a second three-chapter playthrough is unnecessary. Use a manual backup before the choice if the current client does not expose the expected autosave.

What the official record establishes

Steam’s product record supplies AppID 2154070, Bleakmill as developer, Headup and Beep Japan Inc. as publishers, and the April 29, 2026 release date. The Bleakmill studio page separately places INDUSTRIA 2 in its 2026 catalog. These four JPEGs were downloaded unchanged from the official appdetails screenshot array at 1920 by 1080. The route itself was checked against three readable chapter guides, another full-game reference, and Steam’s developer patch records. Video-only guides, third-party artwork, launch-review percentages, and codes that could not be made build-safe were not used as instructions.
