After the tutorial, a death or reset reshuffles rooms, rewards, and many side paths in Saros. Follow the fixed objective chain across all eight biomes, including the required returns to the Passage, and use the current blue route marker for each generated room.
Checked July 19, 2026. Housemarque and Sony launched Saros for PlayStation 5 on April 30, 2026. The captured official pages describe permanent progression, Eclipse escalation, and Carcosan Modifiers, but do not expose a numbered current-client version. Treat objective names and permanent ability gates below as stable checkpoints; for room placement, enemy composition, and balance, follow the current client.
Use the objective, not the shape of the room
On the minimap, the blue route marker advances the current objective; white-marked branches are optional reward rooms. Search a white branch when you need Aether, Halcyon, a weapon roll, or an Integrity increase, but return to the blue route before a strong loadout becomes a reason to wander without purpose. A teleporter is also a progress tool: several biomes deliberately send Arjun to the Passage and then back to a newly named destination on the World Dial.
Eclipse pedestals require a separate decision. Some are compulsory because a gate or traversal system will not function in the normal state. Others only increase risk and rewards. When the objective still points through an Eclipse barrier, activate it; when the route is already open, judge the extra corruption and hostile pressure against the strength of the current cycle.
| Biome | Fixed gate | Permanent gain or handoff |
|---|---|---|
| Shattered Rise | Find the Vault Key and reopen the sealed signal gate | Prominence; teleporter unlocks Ancient Depths |
| Ancient Depths | Activate both Vault Devices | Jump Network, Shotgun, Dispiritor; surface exit |
| Shattered Descent | Recover the data core, return, then cross the colony | Grapple, Overdrive; bridge controls discovered |
| Blighted Marsh | Power Alab’s bridge, then the two-generator elevator | Repeater Crossbow, Parry, Mangled Circuit |
| Desecrated Fortress | Cross the chasm and climb the spire | Eclipse Threads, Nova Lance; Black Dam destination |
| Acolyte’s Haven | Activate the beacon and board the Echelon II vessel | Chakram; Cathedral destination |
| Cathedral | Complete both inversion branches and ring the mechanisms | Illumine; the Shore portal opens in the Passage |
| Yellow Shore | Clear two statue gates without a revive | Blazing Strike; first ending after King |
The first failed cycle opens the real game
The tutorial is linear. Follow the movement prompts, dash through the blue projectile walls, take the first Lucenite, shoot the yellow switch above the locked gate, and clear the Custodians. The shield lesson matters more than the damage race: blue projectiles are Power fuel, while red Nova patterns are hazards to avoid until Parry arrives much later. The Consort encounter ends the opening cycle even if you play well. That death is a story gate, not a lost run.
Back in the Passage, speak with the available crew and inspect Primary. Lucenite funds the broad Armour Matrix progression; Halcyon buys the rarer permanent nodes. Second Chance is an efficient early destination because it converts a later mistake into a continued cycle. Drive upgrades also pay back repeated attempts by increasing Lucenite flow.
Before leaving the hub, check for new conversations and accessible rooms. Passage scenes advance after major Overlords, and the Banyan Tree develops at set story windows. Skipping the hub will not erase the biome route, but it can make the narrative and later cleanup harder to read.
Shattered Rise turns the Eclipse into a key hunt
Take Prominence from the circular device early in Shattered Rise. A full pull of the left trigger selects the Power Weapon, and absorbed projectiles provide its charge. Use Prominence on the orange obstruction that teaches this interaction, then continue until the first compulsory Eclipse pedestal. Once the world state changes, corrupted attacks can reduce usable Integrity; spending Power clears corruption, so do not hoard a full meter while the health bar is being sealed away.
The signal is behind a circular door, but the key is elsewhere in the generated route. Follow the new objective until a chamber drops to a lower floor. Break the red shield across the circular opening with melee, pass the laser section, and take the Vault Key from its stand. The nearby gold transport returns Arjun to the sealed door. Insert the key in the mechanism beside it.
After Prophet, use the path behind the arena rather than searching the old rooms. Its teleporter returns to the Passage and adds Ancient Depths to Primary’s World Dial. Boss attacks are deliberately kept out of this route; the fixed result that matters here is the newly available destination.
Ancient Depths is a two-device circuit
The first apparent dead end introduces Jump Network pads. Stand on a pad and hold the jump input longer for extra height; raised outlines on the minimap often reveal where the next pad is meant to send you. The Soltari Shotgun then appears in a sealed test room, and collecting it releases the local encounter.
The central vault chamber has two branches and a barrier that cannot be solved on arrival. Clear the route that is currently open, survive the drill-area cage, take Dispiritor after the transport, and break the red shield leading to the control pedestal. That control changes the central chamber and makes the Eclipse pedestal usable.
Return to the center and trigger the Eclipse. Moving machinery, rotating surfaces, and lasers now create the path behind the former barrier. Follow the active objectives until both Vault Devices read as complete; if the counter remains at one, take the other marked fork rather than combing optional containers. The circular vault entrance in the hub chamber opens at two of two.
Defeat Bastion, pass through its former arena, and follow the jump-pad climb toward daylight. The route exits directly onto Shattered Descent instead of asking for a World Dial selection.

Shattered Descent and Blighted Marsh form one bridge puzzle
At the Echelon III camp, enter the dome and recover the data core from the central table. Leave through the side route, cross the gap, and use the teleporter. After the Passage scene, Shattered Descent – Colony appears on the World Dial. This is also the point where Carcosan Modifiers become available through Primary.
Back at the colony, interact with the raised terminal to add Grapple. Use the purple points around the camp before crossing the large gap if you want supplies, then descend and activate the required Eclipse. Farther along, speaking with Eli opens the nearby path to Overdrive. It charges through combat, activates with both stick buttons, and turns stored momentum into a burst of damage.
Green-topped towers in this biome heal nearby enemies. Melee the tower before committing ammunition to the group. After Rhabdom, inspect the dead bridge control and follow the newly opened descent toward Blighted Marsh. You are not missing the circuit in Shattered Descent; the objective intentionally sends you into the next biome to obtain it.
In Blighted Marsh, shoot blue explosive pods from range. Take the Repeater Crossbow on the main route and continue to Alab. His bridge needs one Illuminated Generator: climb the tower from its rear elevator, take the generator, use the transport back, and install it. That handoff grants Parry, allowing a timed melee input to reflect red Nova attacks.
The larger elevator beyond Alab is a different machine with two generator sockets. Each main branch reaches a tower and a return transport. Install both, ride the restored elevator, and defeat Legion. The reward is the Mangled Circuit. Use the exit teleporter, speak to Kayla, then go to Primary when she will not repair it. Primary fixes the item and the World Dial can return you to Shattered Descent – Bridge Controls. Insert the repaired circuit, cross the bridge, and shoot the two gate switches to enter the city.
Fortress progress is mandatory; Honorarium spending is not
In Desecrated Fortress, Honorarium Sigils come from containers and side rooms. They buy extra rooms and resources later, but the count is not a story lock. Do not abandon a strong cycle because a generated branch produced fewer sigils than a previous run.
The required change occurs at the chasm. Summon the Eclipse, take the glowing object by the fallen Soltari, and gain Eclipse Threads. Face one of the faint trails and use the dash input to ride it. The next sequence combines Threads, Grapple points, rotating platforms, and moving hazards. Nova Lance appears in an alcove after an early Thread crossing; it is useful at range but not required to open the Honorarium.
Spend any collected sigils at the eye-shaped locks, then leave the optional reward structure and resume the upward route. After Architect, the teleporter returns Arjun to a changed Passage. Follow the newly open side room to Constant, then select Blighted Marsh – Black Dam at Primary. The dead end beyond the dam is now open; ride its elevator into Acolyte’s Haven.
The beacon, ship, and Cathedral each change traversal rules
Acolyte’s Haven uses floating drones as temporary grapple anchors. Shoot one so it rises, grapple across, and trigger the Eclipse to power the Threads needed along the coast. The Chakram enters the weapon pool before the route reaches the huge statue. Climb through that structure and activate the beacon in its head.
The transport behind the beacon returns to the wharf, where the Echelon II vessel is now reachable. Grapple aboard and survive Shepherd. On the far shore, the large structure unlocks the Cathedral destination; collect Illumine from the chamber before moving deeper.
The Cathedral’s central staircase loops forever until Arjun turns back and summons the Eclipse. Two side routes then become available. Each ends at an inversion device: flip the room, return along what used to be the ceiling, flip back near the center, and melee that side’s red tuning mechanism. Complete both branches. A third mechanism appears in the central chamber and breaks open the next descent.
The drop also hides an optional story chamber, but it is not required to reach Priestess. After the boss and the following scene, speak with Constant in the Passage. Its terminal opens the glowing route beside Primary that leads to Yellow Shore.
Enter Yellow Shore only when the whole cycle is ready
Yellow Shore disables Second Chance on entry. Upgrade, set the intended modifiers, and choose a loadout you can carry through the biome and King before breaking the mirrored wall. The opening forcefield grants Blazing Strike, an enhanced melee that destroys yellow barriers and opens yellow containers without a Carcosan Key.
Both major statue gates use the same proof-of-clear pattern. Kill the group in at least one side area, return to the central space, and finish the Solar Cage that appears. The second version adds a Consort to the wave. If a chest-cavity gate remains sealed, a required enemy is still alive in the active arena or its selected side branch; searching distant floating islands will not change that state.
Between the gates, use rock ledges to break the line of the distant homing barrage, then ride the Eclipse Thread when the route exposes it. After the second statue, the final Thread reaches the shore. Approach King only after collecting nearby recovery items: there is no revive safety net for the final fight.
The first victory and credits are not the end of the save. The Passage supplies a new post-credits objective and revisits before the final decision becomes available. That cleanup and the true-ending choice belong to the trophy roadmap rather than this first-clear route.
