Storebound Floppy Disk Locations: All 13 by Episode

Three Storebound shoppers standing beneath the PRESENT megastore sign

Storebound has 13 floppy-disk pickups across its six-episode campaign: 1 in Episode 1, 2 in Episode 2, 3 in Episode 3, 2 each in Episodes 4 and 5, and 3 in Episode 6. That count matters because community references label archive parts inconsistently and sometimes group two part labels under one pickup. Count the physical objects on the floor or desk, not the part headings in somebody else’s checklist.

This route is for the July 2026 full release. Storebound 1.0 added Episodes 5 and 6, completed the campaign, and expanded the checkpoint system. The locations below were checked on July 21, 2026 against a post-1.0 location guide, a separate six-episode community cross-check, Steam’s current achievement list, and Embers’ official release material. It is a collectible route, not a room-by-room puzzle walkthrough.

Use the episode achievements as your collection ledger

Steam separates the disk task into File explorer 1 through File explorer 6, each described as finding every floppy disk in that episode. Talented archivist is the final check for finding every disk in every episode. That gives you a better audit method than replaying the whole campaign blindly: identify the missing episode badge, then search only its short list below.

Episode Physical disks Landmarks to remember Steam check
1 1 Second-floor kitchen File explorer 1
2 2 Triangle reception desk; maze computer desk File explorer 2
3 3 Factory; CUTS; arcade twin statue File explorer 3
4 2 Nearly empty stair room; OVEN computer File explorer 4
5 2 BCooked Door A; red liminal area File explorer 5
6 3 RADIO desks; survivor office; arrow trail File explorer 6

Do not use the table as an assumed encounter order. The two current location references agree on the places and the 1-2-3-2-2-3 pickup split, but they sometimes list locations in a different order. Store signs, wall text, room color, and fixed set pieces are safer checkpoints than labels such as “Part II” or “the next disk.”

Episodes 1 and 2: clear the kitchen, reception desk, and maze

Episode 1 – the second-floor kitchen

Episode 1 has only one disk. Once you can explore the store’s second level, enter the kitchen and inspect the room before advancing. There is no second Episode 1 location to compensate for missing it: the kitchen pickup is the entire requirement for File explorer 1.

Use the floor and room function as the confirmation pair. A kitchen-like display on the wrong level is not enough; the independently readable location references both place this disk in the kitchen on the second floor.

Episode 2 – the red triangle route

For the first Episode 2 disk, find the red triangular structure in the store and take the hallway beside it. Continue until you see a triangular doorway next to a wall that appears to be bleeding. Use the raised perch or climb point there to get above the doorway and reach a receptionist’s desk. The disk is beside the chair.

The failure signal is arriving at a generic desk without completing that landmark chain. Confirm all four cues in order: red triangle, adjoining hall, triangular doorway at the bleeding wall, then the elevated reception position. This prevents a sweep of unrelated counters in the main retail area.

Episode 2 – the maze computer

The second disk is inside the maze section. Read the control-room map and locate the computer icon on the right-hand side. The target is the corresponding computer desk, not one of the surveillance consoles in the control room. When the runner reaches that marked station, check the desktop for the floppy before finishing the maze objective.

In co-op, make the location call before the maze team commits to an exit path: one player can name the computer symbol and its sector while the runner confirms the desk. In solo play, memorize the symbol’s position rather than a long left-right sequence. The reliable evidence supports the map icon and desk; it does not support one universal turn list for every run.

Episodes 3 and 4: navigate by named stores and set pieces

Episode 3 – Factory desk

Enter the Factory area and look for a desk with question marks floating above papers. A wall image showing canisters is the second confirmation. The disk is low, on the floor in the narrow space between that desk and the wall. If you only scan desktops, this is the Episode 3 pickup you are most likely to walk past.

Episode 3 – CUTS desktop

Find the store signed CUTS and go to its desktop computer. The floppy sits beside the computer. The store name is the decisive anchor; do not confuse this with the Factory workstation or carry the Episode 2 maze-computer instruction into this chapter.

Episode 3 – arcade statue

The final Episode 3 disk is in the arcade near a statue of two people, described in the community cross-check as the Twins. Inspect the raised platform beside the center of that statue, close to an arcade machine. File explorer 3 requires all three distinct scene types – industrial desk, named retail store, and arcade sculpture – so seeing two computers does not mean the chapter is complete.

Episode 4 – the nearly empty room

Follow the stairways into a room that is conspicuously bare compared with the surrounding spaces. The first Episode 4 disk is the main object of interest there. The description is intentionally visual rather than a fixed turn sequence: stairs leading to a mostly empty room are the supported cues.

Episode 4 – OVEN on the second floor

For the other disk, look up to the second floor and find the shop marked OVEN. A broader community reference places this upper store near the area with the saw-equipped vehicle, but the OVEN sign is the stronger checkpoint. Enter and inspect the store computer; the floppy is at that station.

If File explorer 4 remains missing, recheck both vertical transitions. One target is reached through stairs into a sparse room, and the other is inside an explicitly signed upstairs shop. Sweeping only the ground-floor route cannot clear this episode’s pair.

Episodes 5 and 6: ignore part totals and count locations

The 1.0 finale is where part labels become especially misleading. One warning-marked community page groups pairs of archive-part headings under single locations, so its part totals are not treated here as an authoritative game rule. The independently readable physical route is clearer: interact with two disks in Episode 5 and three in Episode 6.

Episode 5 – BCooked and Door A

Find the store signed BCooked. Search inside for a door marked with the letter A; the disk is on the floor in front of that door. Keep the store sign and door letter together as the confirmation. A loose disk near another alphabetic marker is not the supported location.

Episode 5 – the red liminal opening

Continue through the liminal section until the route opens into a wider space with red coloring across the walls. The second disk lies on the floor in this open red area. The two readable location sources reverse the order in which they list BCooked and the liminal room, so this guide does not assign them a supposedly fixed first/second route position. File explorer 5 needs one disk from each landmark.

Episode 6 – RADIO and the PRESENT 2000 wall

Enter the RADIO store and find the large wall display that reads PRESENT is 2000. Look to the right of that display and search the space between the desks. This is the first clean landmark pair for Episode 6: store name plus wall slogan.

Episode 6 – the survivors’ office

Find the wall marked Survivors Here. There is an opening underneath it; pass through and look for the remains of an office. The disk is on the office desk. Do not stop after discovering the message or the opening – the pickup is inside the office beyond it.

Episode 6 – follow the arrows past the exit

The last disk is the only location that needs a longer movement chain:

  1. Start where arrows on the walls and ceiling establish a route.
  2. Follow them until you cross a narrow plank.
  3. Turn left after the plank, then take the rising walkway on the right that continues the arrow trail.
  4. When you reach an exit door, do not use it. Continue toward the far end of the platform.
  5. Follow the additional arrow-marked paths upward.
  6. Near an upside-down room, inspect the floor beside a patch of red brick. The final floppy is there.

The exit door is the critical decision point. Reaching it proves you are on the documented route, but leaving there cuts the search short. The disk is farther along, after more ascent, at the upside-down-room and red-brick checkpoint.

When Talented archivist does not unlock

Open Steam’s achievement list and audit the six File explorer badges before collecting unrelated notes, receipts, or lore. Storebound has separate achievements for other reading and collection tasks; those items do not substitute for a floppy disk.

  • Missing File explorer 1: return to the only target, the second-floor kitchen.
  • Missing File explorer 2: distinguish the elevated reception desk from the computer desk inside the maze.
  • Missing File explorer 3: confirm three different anchors – Factory floor gap, CUTS desktop, and arcade twin statue.
  • Missing File explorer 4: check both upper routes, especially the OVEN computer.
  • Missing File explorer 5: verify both BCooked Door A and the open red liminal floor; do not trust part numbering.
  • Missing File explorer 6: verify RADIO, the survivors’ office, and the arrow trail beyond the exit door.

If all six episode badges are visible but Talented archivist is not, first let the Steam client refresh its achievement state and recheck the list. The public achievement description gives no extra hidden condition beyond finding every disk in every episode, so there is no evidence-based reason to repeat unrelated puzzles or force a specific difficulty. Preserve a screenshot of the six completed File explorer badges before treating the remaining failure as a game or synchronization issue.

The official Storebound Steam listing supplied AppID 3417410, current Embers developer/publisher metadata, the six-episode description, and the 43-achievement roster. Embers’ Steam announcements define the July 16, 2026 full-release boundary. All three 1920×1080 JPGs came directly from the app’s official media array and retain their downloaded bytes. The 13 pickup locations were reconciled between a readable post-1.0 collectible guide and a separate six-episode community reference. A blocked pre-release article and a removed, two-episode-only walkthrough were not used as route evidence.
