Poppy Playtime Chapter 3 Walkthrough: Playcare Power Route and CatNap

GrabPack hands facing a ruined Playcare statue in Poppy Playtime Chapter 3

Poppy Playtime: Chapter 3 is one long power-restoration loop. The Red Smoke diverter fails because Playcare’s local feeds are down, so you leave the central monument for Home Sweet Home, the School House, the Playhouse, and the Counselor’s Office, then return their cables to the terminal below the statue. Treat that underground console as the chapter ledger; wandering between buildings without finishing a feed only makes the map feel larger than it is.

The steps below reveal the full Deep Sleep route for AppID 2555190, released January 30, 2024 and checked July 21, 2026. They cover the new hands, Red Smoke rules, Miss Delight, DogDay, and CatNap. Tapes and notes are included only when they sit beside an objective.

Escape the compactor and learn the redirecting pole

From the trash compactor, take the left ramp and move below the crushing mechanism. Pull up to the high doorway with the GrabPack, cross the timed rising pillars, and use the second set to reach the rear catwalk. Pull the suspended platform toward you, step onto it, release, and jump into the vent when it reaches the far side.

Back in the dump room, place two power cells in the rear wall: one is in the cabinet on the left, the other is visible through the bathroom doorway on the right. Charge the Blue Hand scanner and follow the phone to Ollie. His cell opens the door to the tracks.

The security-booth puzzle introduces a pole that redirects a launched hand. Rotate the top ring until its blue direction marker points at the dead outlet. Connect the Blue Hand to the live outlet, stand where the pole’s handprint faces you, and hit that handprint with the other hand. The redirected live cable reaches the destination and powers the cable car.

Start the Red Smoke diverter and take the Purple Hand

Ride into Playcare, descend below the central monument, and collect Ollie’s key from the yellow chute. The green door left of the cable-car station leads to Gas Production. Take the power cell from the carts beside the open arch and put it in the green slot beside the diverter. The new room contains the Purple Hand.

Purple floor pads are handsprings. Hit one while moving to launch upward or across a gap. Use the suspended platform over the red liquid as both an elevator and a ferry: pull it down, spring onto the yellow pipe, drag the platform midway, jump back onto it, then spring across. A final high launch clears the gate.

In the two-pole room, first align the far pole with the dead outlet and the near pole with the far pole’s handprint. Reach through the hole in the cage roof to connect the Blue Hand to power, drop down, and fire the other hand at the near handprint. Reconfigure the poles in the opposite chain for the second outlet. The diverter starts, then loses power; that failure is scripted and begins the building loop.

Home Sweet Home gives you the gas mask and first feed

Collect the Home Sweet Home key from the monument chute and enter the large lit manor. The first Red Smoke sequence is a hallucination: its branching corridors converge, CatNap is not yet an active pursuer, and the television encounter ends in a scripted death. Do not burn time searching for a secret route around it.

After waking in the real orphanage, pull the gas mask from the plank over the central floor hole. Press the current mask control whenever entering visible Red Smoke. Below, charge the toy car and let it break the box barrier, then climb the far pipe.

The orphanage route is a two-cell loop. The first pair restores access to the upper dorms: one cell sits by the slots and one is on the back of the toy upstairs. The second pair opens the way back to the central hall: take the green cell from Bobby BearHug by making the animatronic face the original doorway, then circle through the kitchen and pull the cell from behind; the other is on an office desk reached through a smoke-filled room and vent.

When two timed Green-Hand nodes guard a wooden door, open the staircase with the first charge, take the live charge halfway up, and deliver it to one door node. Return for the other active node and fill the second before the first expires. The race car beyond breaks the next barrier.

The exit uses two electrical-pole turrets. Aim the first turret through its pole into the left-wall outlet. In the second chamber, chain the small pole into the tall pole and the tall pole into the remaining outlet. The catch is keeping both circuits live: stand on the bridge, hold the retractable walkway over the first gate, and operate the first turret’s lever with the free hand. With both outlets powered, the final shutter opens.

Outside, Poppy and Kissy restore a backup source. Take the power cable from the red box beside Home Sweet Home and plug it into the matching socket on the terminal below the central monument. Ollie then sends the School House key.

Make Miss Delight visible before attempting each transfer

Inside the School House, move the first Green-Hand charge to the gate. Take the power cell beneath the classroom television to the two-slot room. Reach the second cell through the computer-lab ceiling vent, install it, then carry the newly active Green-Hand charge back under the piled desks to the next shutter.

Powering the generator starts the Miss Delight encounter. Her rule is the inverse of a normal chase: she moves when you are not looking at her. At every corner, stop and reacquire her before manipulating a battery or timed node. You can back around her at close range while maintaining sight, but a blind turn gives her enough speed to close the gap.

The route alternates between four actions:

  1. Keep Miss Delight frozen in view.
  2. Move a cell or take a Green-Hand charge.
  3. Sprint through the newly opened section.
  4. Turn and reacquire her before the next input.

For the last battery room, use the single cell to open the right shutter and retrieve the second. Move both cells to the left shutter, open the shortcut by removing the shelf, then transfer both cells to the rear shutter. Use the shortcut to take the Green-Hand charge from the left room and deliver it above the rear shutter. In the final corridor, Miss Delight abandons the stop-when-seen rule; pull the right-wall lever to close the shutter on her.

Save flares for Critters, not cave lighting

Take the Orange Flare Hand after the School House. Across the first cave bridge, pull the distant power cell into the gate slot. Use the handsprings to climb, then complete the turret chain so the final redirected hand powers the elevator. The route ends at the Playhouse door.

Small Smiling Critters respawn and flee from flares. Their white eyes already expose them in the dark, so firing at empty corridors wastes the resource. Move continuously, let several Critters group, and place one flare near the cluster.

In the Jungle Gym, drag the left and right blocks onto their floor buttons. Return to the original drop point, enter the left pipe, cross the rear passages to the circular platform, and press the pod button while standing on it. Ride around the pod, drop into the rings, and take the yellow exit.

Before speaking with DogDay, switch to the Purple Hand. During his chase, take the pipe, wait for the left vent, follow the upper pipe network, and use the slide. In the room presenting three apparent slides, ignore them: turn left and hit the handspring between the red and yellow pillars. That is the real escape.

The Counselor’s Office finishes the monument circuit

Ollie’s next key opens the white courthouse-like building. Pull the first cell from the vent over the seats, then reuse that same cell at the slot beside the television after it has opened the first door. A later smoke-filled cell can be grabbed safely through the wall hole.

Stella Greyber’s office contains the key for the upper route. In the Red Smoke room, install the visible cell, open the three office power boxes, and use the central Green-Hand source to charge all three nodes before their bars drain.

The main generator room has three circuit states rather than one permanent solution:

  • First aim power at the handsprings to reach the upper platform and throw its shortcut lever.
  • Drop the first glass-encased cell from that platform to break it.
  • Use the elevator circuit to carry the second encased cell upward, then throw it from the same ledge.
  • Bring both intact cells up, install them at the exit, and rotate the pole one last time so the turret feeds the shutter outlet.

CatNap removes the gas mask during the following scripted nightmare. Recover the cell afterward and leave the building. Plug the Counselor’s Office cable into the monument terminal. Use Ollie’s Sky Dome key to obtain the remaining cable beside the Home Sweet Home elevator and plug that in as well. Only after these feeds are present does the chute deliver the blue diverter cell.

CatNap is a verification fight, not a damage race

Carry the blue cell back to Gas Production. CatNap steals it at the slot, so take the rear elevator to the Panic Room. Before starting, move the loose power cells toward the center and learn every defense.

Approach Defense
West passage Install a cell in the wall slot to vent steam
Northwest passage Purple-hand spring to the upper Green-Hand node
Northeast passage Pull the fence aside and charge the node behind it
East passage Install a cell in the passage slot
Ceiling hatch Pull it fully shut as soon as its alarm sounds

Shadow CatNaps disappear when struck by a flare; the real one keeps the flare attached. Once you identify the real CatNap, other visible copies are harmless until the state changes. The ceiling attack is always real and faster than the side passages, so interrupt other work to close it.

Start the timer by installing the first console battery. Each pause asks for another battery; four cells complete the charge cycle. When the Green-Hand node above the console activates, take its energy. The final animation knocks you down, but control returns for one input: fire the charged Green Hand at CatNap’s head.

Ride back down, reinstall the recovered blue cell, and start the diverter. Enter the adjacent hatch room for Poppy’s tape, then descend with Poppy and Kissy. That story sequence closes Chapter 3.
