Major story spoilers begin immediately. The main route in Tales of Berseria Remastered is not difficult to identify when the destination star is active, but it repeatedly sends you through old maps with a different exit, a new switch state, or one required conversation. This walkthrough follows the playable dependency chain from Aball to Innominat’s Domain and calls out the points where a marker alone is not enough.
Research for this route was frozen on July 21, 2026. It covers Steam AppID 2331020, the official Remastered feature list, the publisher’s v1.0.5 notes, the June 9 Steam build update that kept the v1.0.5 version number, a current six-part Remastered walkthrough, and saved original-release location references. The old route is used only as a map-level cross-check. If a landmark here disagrees with your current client, trust the visible objective, current map, and installed patch.
Know which checkpoint actually advances the story
The fastest way to diagnose a stalled route is to separate travel from triggers. A star on another map means travel. A star that remains in the current room usually means a conversation, mechanism, or scene is still pending. The following chain is the article’s spine:
- Aball and Tranquil Woods: finish the prologue tasks, survive the unwinnable encounters, then escape Titania from the front side of the prison.
- Figahl Icecaps to Hadlow Hollow: reach Hellawes, find the shipwright Dyle in the hollow, and return after the dungeon fight.
- West Laban Tunnel and Vortigern: enter by the unshielded side, obtain access through the control room, remove the battleship obstruction, and open the sea gate.
- Port Zekson to Loegres: accept and finish all three Bloodwing jobs before entering Barona Catacombs and the villa.
- First Empyrean’s Throne visit: activate the paired mechanisms, enter the throne room, accept the scripted loss, and leave through the Earthpulse.
- Southern translation route: cross Reneed, Warg Forest, Lothringen, Yseult, Haria, Manann Reef, and Palamides Temple before the Therion hunt begins.
- Therion circuit: return to Titania between the regional searches; do not assume that visiting a region alone advances the chain.
- Lionel Wharf and Baird Marsh: solve the colored barriers, defeat the two-boss sequence, then return to Titania.
- Inside Innominat to Hexen Isle: follow Earthpulse orbs and memory scenes; the dragon sequence is story-controlled.
- Baird Marsh Depths to Mount Killaraus: take the previously ignored depths exit, rescue the Loegres prisoners, reach Meirchio, and defeat both Legates.
- Final Empyrean’s Throne: activate same-platform sigils, build crystal bridges, skip or clear the six optional orb gates, and take the final warp.
That chain is deliberately not a treasure checklist. Chests, herbs, Katz Boxes, Code Red hunts, and Class 4 islands can be revisited; mixing every optional detour into the dependency route makes it harder to see why the next main objective did not appear.
Turn the Remastered travel upgrades into route insurance
The Remastered edition changes two bottle timings that matter to a walkthrough. The Bottomless Denore Bottle now arrives after the Daemon Dyle battle in Hadlow Hollow. For the Bottomless Inoph Bottle, accept the Bloodwing work in Loegres, then meet the southern Danann Highway agent. Both are earlier than their practical unlimited-travel role in the original release.
- After Dyle, verify the Bottomless Denore Bottle before leaving the Hellawes chapter. It prevents the first large backtrack from becoming a resource calculation.
- During the Bloodwing sequence, speak to the southern Danann agent even if the objective star appears to point elsewhere. That conversation is the Remastered acquisition checkpoint for the Bottomless Inoph Bottle.
- Use encounter-off travel for already-cleared fields, but turn encounters back on when equipment mastery or Souls are falling behind. Event fights will still start either way.
- Treat autosaves after transitions and events as recovery points, not as your only save. Make a manual save before the first throne room, the Baird Marsh boss chain, Mount Killaraus, and the final warp.
The Grade Shop is also available on a first playthrough with 11,200 GRADE, but it is not a route requirement. If you enable bonuses, record what you toggled. A guide cannot diagnose a difficulty spike if experience, Gald, item carry limits, or shop prices were changed without a baseline.
Escape Titania, repair the ship, and open Vortigern
The prologue uses two deliberate failure-looking battles. At the cape before the Advent, your job is to survive until the scene advances; the transformed village is also an escape segment, not a reason to grind. Three years later, Seres frees Velvet in Titania. Follow the prison route through the storeroom and prisoner block, meet Magilou and Rokurou, climb through the watchtower side, and reach the exterior confrontation. The Oscar encounter changes state after enough damage, and the following dragon is the real exit fight.
After the shipwreck, move from Figahl Icecaps into Hellawes. The ship will not be repaired by searching the docks repeatedly: the active dependency is Hellawes inquiry – Beardsley route – Hadlow Hollow – Dyle – return to Hellawes. Once Dyle is defeated, check the new bottomless bottle and follow the invasion sequence to leave with Number Two.

West Laban Tunnel introduces Eizen and leads to Vortigern. The fortress is the first place where the destination icon can sit behind a mechanism rather than at the end of a corridor:
- Ignore the protected main gate and use the left-side approach guarded by soldiers.
- Move upward until the route separates the control-room objective from the battleship objective.
- For the control room, go outside over the planks, climb the vines beside the locked door, and enter through the broken-bar window.
- For the battleship route, take the door rather than the blocked ladder. Push the upper boulder so it removes the obstruction below.
- After the ship sequence, return to the gate mechanism. The story advances only when the sea gate is opened for the Van Eltia.
If the star appears to be below or behind you in Vortigern, compare your floor and the two unfinished objectives. Re-running the exterior does not replace the control-room entry or the boulder action.
Finish all three Bloodwing jobs before chasing the throne marker
From Port Zekson, take Danann Highway south to Loegres and enter the tavern marked by the grape sign. Lady Baskerville’s network gives three jobs that can be completed in any order, but all three must be reported:
| Job | Action that counts | Common false finish |
|---|---|---|
| Missing man | Use the northeast Danann route toward Western Galles Lake Road, defeat the enemies at the marked location, and speak to the man. | Finding the camp without talking to the target. |
| Destroy goods | Return to Port Zekson, enter the northern warehouse, destroy the red crates, then complete the Eleanor encounter. | Breaking only the first visible group of crates. |
| Foil the ambush | Leave Loegres north, take the east branch in the next highway section, and clear the waiting group. | Fighting a nearby Code Red enemy instead of the marked ambush. |
After the reports, follow the Gideon investigation into Barona Catacombs. The catacombs emerge inside the villa; keep the library discovery in the route, reach the prayer room, and finish the Gideon/Eleanor chain. The key then opens access to the first Empyrean’s Throne visit. Inside, lower the first barrier, use the two mechanisms on opposite sides of the throne structure for the upper barrier, and enter the throne room.
Do not spend consumables trying to win this Artorius fight. The current Remastered walkthrough and the legacy route agree that the party cannot damage him at this stage. The loss and escape into the Earthpulse are progression, not a failed build. In the Earthpulse, interact with the platform orbs; after Yvolg Ruins, break the obstructing walls, finish the Eleanor duel, and return to the ruins for the conversation that adds her to the party.

Run the translation and Therion chapters as one connected circuit
The next stretch is long, but its dependencies are simple if you keep translation, medicine, and Therions separate. Reach Port Cadnix through Brigid Ravine and Vesper Tunnels, then sail toward the southern continent. The illness aboard the Van Eltia diverts the party to Reneed. The cure route is Fens of Nog – Warg Forest – Sale’tomah – return to the ship; leaving the forest without the flower does not clear the diversion.
Continue through Burnack Plateau to Lothringen, then follow the southern route through Yseult, Maclir Beach, Haria, Manann Reef, and Palamides Temple. The temple sequence supplies the required Kamoana chapter and allows the book-translation objective to move into the Therion search. When the story begins sending you back across the world, treat Titania as a control point rather than a finished location.
| Route leg | What closes the leg | What to verify before leaving |
|---|---|---|
| Loegres return and Titania | Complete the city events, sail to Titania, and clear every required party conversation. | The next regional objective appears after the Titania scene chain, not merely after arrival. |
| Aldina Plains and Stonebury | Use the newly opened field route and follow the marked story contact. | Map reveal can show Stonebury early; the active story scene is still required. |
| Figahl Icecaps and Faldies Ruins | Return through Hellawes, take the previously restricted northern route, and finish the Therion event. | Do not substitute optional Code Red hunts for the marked Faldies objective. |
| Taliesin, Perniya, Morgana, and Aball | Advance the regional scenes through Morgana Woods and revisit Velvet’s home route. | Finish the Aball/Tranquil Woods event chain before sailing away. |
| Final Titania return | Report and gather the Therion group before Lionel Wharf opens the late-game chain. | If Lionel is not available, clear outstanding Titania dialogue markers. |
This circuit is where the Remastered marker and early bottomless travel matter most. A legacy page may describe a consumable bottle, a guard, or a less convenient return that the Remaster has changed. Use the old location name to orient yourself, then use the current star and bottle inventory to execute the modern route.
Solve Baird Marsh before touching the depths exit
From Lionel Island Wharf, enter Baird Marsh. The first visit uses dual-layer colored barriers. The story exit is northwest in the last main section; the path near the save point leads to Baird Marsh Depths and is for a later return.
- Use the southwest switch in the first section to clear the opening red barrier.
- At the top-left switch group, change the green/yellow state so the forward route opens.
- Near the section exit, use both controls to remove the blue and yellow blocks on the route ahead.
- Take the north exit from the second section into the third and operate the green switch there.
- At the end of the following section, leave its switch in the blue state before moving on.
- In the final large section, use the eastern controls for the blue/green combination that opens the northwest story exit. Do not follow the save-point path into the depths yet.
The exit leads to Therion Teressa and then Armatus Oscar. These are consecutive story bosses, so replenish before crossing the last checkpoint and avoid burning every Life Bottle in the first fight. After returning to Titania, gather the Therions on the route to Velvet’s cell and continue to the docks. The following Innominat encounter is another scripted no-damage state. Survive until the story takes the party inside Innominat; changing difficulty or grinding will not convert it into a winnable fight.
Follow new memory platforms, then return through Baird Marsh Depths
Inside Innominat, each orb sends the party to another Earthpulse platform. Progress is signaled by new Laphicet or Artorius memories. If the same memory and platform geometry repeat, backtrack to the last branch and use the orb you skipped. Defeat the Chimera on the final platform, escape through the rift, and complete the Melchior fight.
Hexen Isle then presents a dragon whose recovery is tied to the story. Stay alive and continue applying pressure until Laphicet’s Silver Flame scene resolves it; do not interpret the regeneration as proof that you missed a secret weapon. After Port Cadnix, rest, take the replacement ship, return to Lionel Wharf, and enter Baird Marsh again. The colored barriers are now removed. This time the correct route is the path beside the old save point into Baird Marsh Depths, where the Aifread sequence provides the plan to awaken the four Empyreans.
Innominat’s domain then forces a Loegres detour. Enter from the east side of the city, use the exterior latch into Barona Catacombs, take the western warp rather than reclearing the entire dungeon, and descend through the villa to the former Griffin holding area. Freeing Percival and the girl closes the city dependency. Return through Hellawes and Faldies Ruins to Meirchio, finish every required companion conversation, and leave east when the Scarlet Night begins.
Mount Killaraus is a two-boss commitment
The mountain route is mostly linear, but it commits the party to Shigure followed later by Armatus Melchior. Make a manual save before climbing, master any essential equipment skills you have nearly completed, and stock recovery without relying on a fixed community level recommendation. Difficulty, Grade Shop bonuses, equipment mastery, and encounter use make a universal level gate misleading.
- Shigure: keep Rokurou active for the narrative matchup and use the enemy information panel in your current build for weaknesses. Guard and sidestep the large committed swings before countering.
- Melchior: preserve interrupts and avoid clustering every party member inside wide spell zones. Reassign tactics if ranged characters keep walking into the center.
- After both wins: let the sacrifice scene and Lifespring sequence finish. The next valid destination is not another Killaraus side path; it is the route back through Meirchio, Hellawes, and Port Zekson to the Empyrean’s Throne.
Open Innominat’s Domain by changing the map, not guessing portals
At the final throne, inactive portals are paired with sigils on the same platform. Clear a platform clockwise or counterclockwise, find its sigil, and then recheck the portal instead of trying every active warp. Six colored Spirit Orbs connect to six optional gates and bosses. Those fights award additional artes, but the current Remastered route identifies them as optional; they are not required to reach the ending.
Inside Innominat’s Domain, the critical interaction is the crystal. Breaking or examining a crystal creates a bridge elsewhere in that local section. When a path ends at a gap:
- Check the current room for an untouched crystal before taking a warp backward.
- Cross the newly formed bridge and activate the next seal or warp.
- Use the Geoboard only where the map shows a reachable jump; it does not replace a missing crystal bridge.
- At the last crystal, save before the final warp. If you want the six optional bosses, leave the final route and use the orb-gate branches first.
The final fight begins with Artorius and Innominat together and continues into Armatus Artorius. Readable references conflict on which member of the pair should always die first, so a permanent target order would be false precision. The reliable rule is to focus one target rather than splitting damage: interrupt Innominat when wide casts are controlling the field, but switch if Artorius is repeatedly reaching and disabling your support line. Once one health bar is gone, stabilize before finishing the other, because the Armatus phase follows.
Carry enough recovery for both phases and avoid emptying every BG resource on the first safe stagger. If the pair overwhelms the party, diagnose the failure: repeated spell wipes call for interruption and spacing; a collapsing back line calls for different tactics or a controlled character who can peel; constant Soul starvation calls for shorter arte strings and more deliberate guarding. Those signals are more useful than an imported level number.
When the destination star stops moving
| What you see | Likely missing dependency | Next check |
|---|---|---|
| Star behind a Vortigern wall | Control-room window or battleship boulder route unfinished | Check the exterior planks/vines and the door beside the blocked ladder. |
| No throne access after Loegres jobs | One job was not reported or the villa key chain is incomplete | Return to the tavern, then follow Gideon through catacombs and the villa. |
| No next Therion destination | Titania conversation/report chain incomplete | Sweep only the required event markers in Titania before sailing. |
| Baird Marsh loop | Wrong colored state or the depths exit was taken on the first visit | Return to the eastern controls and target the northwest exit. |
| Earthpulse loop | A branch orb was skipped | Use new memory scenes as the progress signal. |
| Final portal inactive | Same-platform sigil or a crystal bridge is missing | Clear the local platform before warping to another floor. |
Official patch v1.0.4 corrected a progression block that could occur after finishing the “Zabida’s Style” sub-event and closing the New Sanctuary map. Patch v1.0.5 addressed 120 FPS visuals, sound, and other gameplay-hindering issues. Steam later updated the v1.0.5 build for a German-language launch problem without changing the visible version number. If your route state contradicts the table after a completed trigger, update first, restart from the latest manual save, and verify the Steam build rather than installing the removed DXVK guide supplied with this research set.
