Revolution Idle Eternity to Unity: Animals, Lab, and Dilation Route

The Dilation screen in Revolution Idle showing penalties, DP income and Dilation Upgrades

The long climb from Eternity to Unity is usually slowed by the wrong kind of run, not by a missing secret multiplier. An Animal Point run, a fast Eternity farm, an Eternity Challenge attempt and a Dilation push all begin with familiar circles and automations, but they need different Laboratory allocations, reset timing and stopping rules. Leaving one setup active for every job can make an upgrade screen look frozen for hours.

This route starts with the first Eternity, follows the Zoo and its 81-animal gate, then turns Dilation and the Dilation Tree into a repeatable path to the first Unity. It does not promise a universal timer or copy an old 48-point tree as if the live game still ended there. The official Steam media already shows a 65-DTP tree, and the July 12, 2026 Plague and Singularity update revamped automation and removed Time Warp. If a saved guide names a control that is absent from your client, use the current panel and the decision rule here.

Give each run one job before pressing reset

Write the current job in your head before changing a Lab, Animal or Dilation Tree loadout. The resource you want decides what should remain automated and what must wait for a manual purchase.

Run job What you are measuring Safe stopping signal Common way to waste it
Fast Eternities Eternities gained per real minute The reset loop is stable and the counter is rising at a useful rate Waiting for EP that the run was never built to produce
AP / EP conversion How much permanent AP the run can buy The next AP purchase takes much longer than the previous one Letting Auto Eternity fire before spending Score, IP or EP
Challenge or Supernova A specific completion or the next visible Supernova The target completes, or its progress clearly stalls Leaving an EP-farming Lab active under a score handicap
Dilation / DP A new Max Score, higher DP income or the next affordable DTP The Max Score has stopped producing a meaningful income increase Staying in a flat run because its elapsed time feels like an investment

The transitions matter more than a perfect number. After an AP purchase, a short Eternity farm may strengthen Cow. After that farm, a Challenge can supply free AP or a useful reward. A short Dilation run then converts the stronger account into DP income. The loop works because each job hands a better state to the next one.

Turn the first Eternities into permanent buying power

The first Eternity becomes available at about 1.79e308 IP. The immediate objective is not to optimize a late Dilation build; it is to reach the milestone gates that remove early friction. At 2 Eternities, automation survives later Eternities. At 3, the Zoo opens. Eternity Challenges arrive at 8, broader automation follows, and 32 Eternities breaks the original Eternity cap so later resets can award more EP.

Before every Eternity reset after the Zoo opens, inspect all three AP purchase buttons. Score and IP are run resources and will be erased, while purchased AP remains. Buy the affordable AP with those currencies before the reset. Then compare the EP purchase against your next Lab or progression need; EP is also an investment currency, so spending every last point without checking the next unlock can delay the system meant to make AP cheaper.

If the second or third Eternity feels almost as slow as the first, audit the reset rather than idling longer:

  • Confirm that the automation milestone is actually unlocked and that the individual toggles are on.
  • Rebuild the Infinity path and Stars that were cleared by Eternity; an old unlocked tab is not proof that its upgrades were repurchased.
  • Check whether Auto Infinity is claiming so frequently that it never reaches the IP range needed for the next layer.
  • Spend Score and IP on AP immediately before Eternating, not at the start of the next run when both values have returned to zero.

A fast Eternity is valuable after Cow becomes available because Cow scales EP gain with the Eternity count. That creates a deliberate cycle: farm many cheap Eternities, return to an AP/EP run, buy another permanent step, and repeat. Do not expect one long EP run to replace the count multiplier that the Zoo is offering.

Open the Zoo as a corridor, not a collection

Animals occupy a 9 by 9 grid and new purchases must connect to animals you already own. The cheapest visible animal is not always the cheapest route to a useful milestone. A practical path first reaches multipliers that accelerate IP, EP and the early promotion loop, then opens the Laboratory and the wider grid.

  1. Build the first spine. Starting at 1;1 Cat, continue through the first coordinate column to 1;5 Ferret. Extend to 2;5 Chinchilla, then bend through 2;4 Jerboa and 3;4 Duck. This opens several cheap adjacent choices instead of trapping AP on one edge.
  2. Reach Cow from the upper-left block. Buy the chain from 2;1 Mouse through 2;3 Guinea Pig, then take 3;3 Rooster, 4;3 Sheep and 4;4 Cow. Cow is the reason a separate Eternity-count farm becomes productive.
  3. Fill the nearby economy nodes. Buy 3;1 Chicken first. From there, add 3;2 Pigeon before turning toward 4;2 Goat and closing 4;1 Pig. Complete the neighboring pair 3;5 Goose and 4;5 Horse before paying for a distant expansion.
  4. Push the sixth-coordinate branch. Start the bridge at 5;2 Frog. Cross next to 6;2 Giraffe, open 6;3 Lion, and return for 5;1 Snake. The branch then continues from 6;4 Hippo to 6;6 Elephant.
  5. Close the remaining gaps toward Dilation. Work from 3;6 Pheasant back to 1;6 Gopher, then open 6;7 Anteater. Take 4;6 Bull before 5;3 Toad; buy 1;7 Rabbit on a separate return to the left side. Add 6;8 Koala and 2;7 Rat afterward. Open the first four animals on coordinate 8, reach 6;9 Pegasus, then buy the cheapest connected animals until all 81 are owned.

This is a recommended travel line, not an irreversible build. Respec Animals refunds the spent AP but also causes an Eternity reset, so use it at a planned transition. If you are one purchase away from a milestone, finish that purchase before experimenting with a different path.

The milestone count is the better progress detector than any single animal name. Seven animals unlock the Laboratory. Twenty provide passive IP based on what an Infinity would award. Forty-eight add free Research Upgrade levels. All 81 unlock Dilation. When a guide tells you to buy a late animal but the square is not adjacent, compare your owned count and grid connection with these gates; you probably skipped a bridge rather than lacking raw AP.

Move Laboratory points when the output changes

The Laboratory opens after the seventh animal, and this is where static advice becomes dangerous. One saved guide recommends a small fixed EP allocation with everything else in IP; another uses a larger EP slice; later comments report that Common Exponent eventually wins. Those claims can all describe different accounts because Research levels, softcaps, Animals and the current run length change the result.

Use three loadout families and compare output over equal real-time windows:

  • EP / AP purchase run: begin IP-heavy because stronger IP feeds the eventual EP result. Put a modest share into EP Gain, run long enough for the build to settle, then move one small block between IP Gain and EP Gain. Keep the version with the higher EP per minute. A fixed “five points” or “sixteen points” is a test value, not a law.
  • Fast Eternity count: favor IP Gain and set the reset threshold to the smallest value the account reaches reliably. Watch several cycles. If the macro or automation repeatedly restarts before an Infinity dependency is rebuilt, the theoretical timer is slower than a slightly longer stable loop.
  • Challenge, Supernova or Dilation score: move Research into Common Exponent. Dilation suppresses several other growth channels so heavily that an ordinary EP configuration can appear dead even though the account is strong enough.

Change one variable at a time. Record EP at the same elapsed time, or record how many Eternities complete in one minute. If you alter Animals, Lab, Auto Infinity and the reset timer together, you cannot tell which change fixed the bottleneck. The correct Lab is the one that advances the named job, not the one with the highest-looking stat on an unrelated screen.

Let Challenges and Supernovas interrupt only when they are close

Eternity Challenges unlock at 8 Eternities. Each completed difficulty contributes permanent value, including AP and challenge-specific bonuses, but a newly visible difficulty is not automatically the best next run. Enter one after an AP purchase, a Lab improvement or a Supernova has materially changed the account. If the goal barely moves for several minutes, exit and return to the growth loop.

A useful early heuristic is to attempt a Challenge that looks finishable in roughly five minutes and postpone one that turns into an open-ended wait. Treat that as a decision timer, not a speedrun requirement. The current client may expose more difficulties than older guides list: official Steam imagery shows a 60-completion counter while older pages still describe 50. Follow the live counter and reward panel instead of assuming the old total.

Use the same rule for Supernova. When the next Supernova requirement is approaching during a normal run, take it and bank the permanent improvement. When the requirement is many orders beyond a stalled score, more time in that exact build is not preparation. Buy AP, raise the Eternity count, improve the relevant Challenge reward or change the Lab, then check again.

This alternating rhythm also prevents a common false diagnosis: “I need more AP” may really mean an unfinished Challenge is withholding a multiplier, while “I need another Challenge” may really mean Cow has not been fed enough Eternities. Read the nearest reachable permanent gain, not the tab that happens to be open.

Dilation pays for experiments, not endurance

Owning all 81 animals opens Dilation. Entering it starts a new Eternity under severe penalties. Exiting starts another Eternity and preserves the best Dilation score, which controls passive DP income. The productive loop is therefore push a new Max Score, exit, buy upgrades, then test the improved state. Remaining inside a flat run does not earn a loyalty bonus.

Prepare the first attempts carefully:

  1. Respec the Laboratory to Common Exponent and turn off Auto Eternity.
  2. Enter Dilation and rebuild the early layers under the penalties. On the first Infinity, claim IP manually if the generator chain does not begin by itself.
  3. Watch Max Score and DP income, not only current Score. When two or three minutes produce no useful change, exit.
  4. Spend the first affordable levels where the panel says they weaken Dilation penalties or multiply DP income. In the captured client these are Dilation Upgrades 1 and 2.
  5. Repeat a short test. A successful cycle should either raise the recorded Max Score, improve DP per second or bring the next DTP cost visibly closer.

If a Dilation run reaches Infinity but then stops, the failure is often an unclaimed first IP or a missing Infinity-tree purchase, not insufficient AP. If it cannot reach Infinity at all, return to Common Exponent, Supernova and Challenge rewards. If Max Score rises but DP income barely changes, let the current income buy DU levels before committing to another long push.

Eternity Challenge 10 directly improves DP income and becomes an important accelerator. Use its current reward panel to judge each difficulty; old multiplier lists and DU targets were written before later updates. The Dilation Tree unlock condition should likewise be read from the live completion counter. Clear every currently required Eternity Challenge difficulty, not an obsolete fixed total copied from a five-difficulty build.

Use the Dilation Tree as a loadout board

The Revolution Idle Dilation Tree with Center, Top, Middle and Bottom branches
The branch labels are the map: Center, Top, Middle and Bottom support different jobs. The displayed 47/65 counter is also evidence that older 48-DTP timelines are no longer a complete current map.

DTP does not produce one build that should remain equipped forever. Its value comes from respecs: a DP configuration buys tree progress, a Supernova configuration lowers or overpowers the next requirement, an AP/EP configuration supports long purchasing runs, and an Eternity configuration accelerates the count multiplier. Name the loadouts by job so that a string copied into the wrong slot cannot silently waste a night.

There is one early checkpoint worth handling explicitly. At 13 DTP, current community records still identify Achievement 140 by the live condition of owning at least one TOP-4, one MID-4 and one BOT-4 upgrade. The temporary all-branch layout is:

C1;T1,1,1,1;M1,1,1,1;B1,1,1,1

Import it only when the current Achievement panel shows that matching condition. Claim the achievement, verify the reward appeared, then switch to the loadout for the next job. If the achievement number or description has changed, follow the description; the string is a way to satisfy the branch shape, not permission to ignore the live UI.

After that checkpoint, diagnose walls by asking which output is missing:

  • The next DTP cost does not move: return to a DP-focused tree and buy DU before attempting another AP marathon.
  • DP is healthy but the score ceiling remains: make a short Supernova attempt or improve the Common Exponent Lab rather than adding more DP time.
  • EP is the Unity bottleneck: use an AP/EP or hybrid tree, turn off Auto Eternity, and buy AP before resetting.
  • Cow contributes too little: use a fast Eternity tree and measure Eternities per minute; do not judge it by EP per run.

Older timelines place large walls near DTP 16 and DTP 40, but their promised hours, AP totals and 45-to-48 finish range are not safe targets for the expanded current tree. Use them as a warning that mode switching becomes more important, not as a calendar. The only reliable completion detector is the Unity option appearing at the required EP.

Protect the purchase at the end of a long run

The later grind combines long AP/EP production with short DP repairs. Before leaving a long run unattended, disable anything that can Eternate or Unite early. Confirm that the selected tree is the AP/EP or hybrid loadout, not the quick DP loadout. Check that the Laboratory supports the same goal. Then make sure the account can remain online or progress offline without relying on Time Warp, which the July 2026 official update removed.

When you return, spend in this order:

  1. Buy AP with the current run’s Score and IP.
  2. Compare the next EP-to-AP purchase with the EP still required for Unity.
  3. Take a reachable Supernova or Challenge reward only if it does not erase an unspent purchase opportunity.
  4. Record the new AP, Eternity and DP state before switching trees.
  5. Run a brief DP recovery pass, buy useful DU, then decide whether the next bottleneck is DP or another long AP/EP run.

The warning sign is a reset log with a large gain but no permanent purchase. That means automation harvested the run before you converted its temporary currencies. Fix the reset condition before increasing run length; a twelve-hour repeat of the same mistake is not more progression.

Claim the first Unity only after a reset preflight

The first Unity option appears at 1.08e2466 EP. Do not substitute a DTP count, AP total or guide timer for that button. Those supporting stats vary with balance changes and route efficiency; the live EP threshold is the gate.

The Revolution Idle Unity Astrology screen with Zodiac inventory and planet slots
Unity turns the earlier layers into a faster replay built around Zodiacs and planets. This developed account is illustrative; the first reset starts with a much smaller inventory.

Unity clears the active Revolution, Infinity, Eternity and Dilation progression, including bought Animals, Lab state, DP, Dilation Upgrades and spent DTP. Purchased AP persists, as do permanent achievements and Soul purchases. Because the July update changed automation, inspect every toggle after the reset even if the setting appears to have carried over. A saved configuration cannot act until its feature has been reopened.

Two readable progression sources agree that the first Unity picker guarantees a Level 3 Rare Aries with Common Exponent and Mult Gain. Choose that Aries when the current picker shows it; the combination accelerates the replay more reliably than gambling the first reset on a weaker random option. If the live picker no longer matches this guarantee, prefer the displayed high-level, high-rarity option with early growth stats and record the difference rather than forcing an obsolete rule.

After equipping the first Zodiac, moving or removing it can trigger another Unity reset. Read the confirmation and rebuild the earlier automation deliberately. The next player task is no longer “reach Unity once”; it is to shorten repeated Unity runs, gather compatible Zodiacs and prepare Trials. That later loop, along with the 15-Trial Attacks unlock, is intentionally outside this article. Keeping the endpoint here prevents an already long midgame route from mixing its careful one-time purchases with a different repeat-farming economy.

The route is complete when the Unity reset has been claimed, the first Zodiac is equipped, AP survived, and the first replay is rebuilding faster than the original. If one of those proofs is missing, stop and inspect the corresponding system before adding more idle time.
