The first useful finish line in Vampires: Bloodlord Rising is not the end of the tutorial. It is Hell’s Chasm under your rule. Reaching that state means Reveka is awake, the regional stronghold is rebuilt, Castle Hill can keep operating while you travel, and one defeat no longer sends you across half of Sangavia. Until those pieces are connected, rushing the next story marker only moves the bottleneck.
This route follows stable world and system checkpoints rather than copying an old quest list. On July 7, 2026, the official Character Creator patch changed the onboarding quest structure, added two Hell’s Chasm quests, and revised dialogue around Razvan and Reveka. Keep the current Journal objective in charge of the exact order. Use the guide to decide what to carry, what to automate, where to secure a respawn, and when the first region is actually finished.
Leave the crypt with two reserves, not one full bar
Blood and Existence solve different problems. Existence is the health that enemy attacks, sunlight, and hostile environments remove. Blood keeps you alive, supports recovery, powers some abilities, and is also demanded by the Core and serpent mechanisms. A full Existence bar beside an empty Blood reserve is therefore not a healthy character; it is a countdown.
The opening canyon teaches feeding and combat before sending you toward Castle Hill. Take the lesson literally: refill before donating. When Razvan or the Core asks for Blood, first identify nearby wildlife and keep enough in your personal reserve to survive the return trip, a bad patrol pull, and the approach of daylight. Never pour the last usable portion into progression merely because the interaction is available.
The early Inquisition fights also establish the warning language used later:
- Yellow attack cue: prepare the counter instead of spending a dash automatically.
- Red attack cue: move or dash; this is not the moment to test the counter window.
- Shielded target: create an opening with a charged attack before expecting normal strikes to work.
- Heavy target: do not assume ordinary hits will stagger it. Save a finisher or a clean damage window.
Do not measure progress by how many enemies you clear in one attempt. The better early measure is whether the next attempt starts close to the fight with Blood, a save, and a known retreat path.
Make Castle Hill functional before making it grand
The first castle needs a Crafting Station, protected sleep, storage, and work positions. It does not need a finished facade. Build the Crypt and coffin required by the current objective, place a chest where both you and the work area can reach it, and keep the first stations close enough that missing inputs are obvious. If you later dislike the layout, rebuild it after the workforce is producing surplus.
Wood comes from trees, Limestone from the starting region’s boulders and loose pieces, and Sand and Clay from river margins. These are not just tutorial pickups. They become Planks, Mortar, coffins, stations, and the basic shell that keeps everyone out of daylight. When a recipe stalls, check the raw input and the station queue before doing another blind harvesting circuit.
A coffin is not shared accommodation. Every servant needs a place to sleep, and the management assignment matters as much as the object itself. If a vampire exists but will not settle into the work cycle, verify that the correct servant owns a coffin and that the assigned station has an active task with accessible inputs.

Turn Medresti gossip into a small work cycle
The Aristocrat and Hunter forms are job tools. Aristocrat lets you enter social space, collect rumors, trade, and inspect candidates without throwing the village into panic. Hunter is the form for combat, predation, stealth, and the Kiss that creates a vampire. Switching at the wrong place can turn recruitment into a chase, so learn about a candidate in Aristocrat form, move away from witnesses, then use Hunter only when the conversion is ready.
Do not recruit a crowd before the castle can support one. A useful first crew covers three outputs:
- Raw materials: one vampire uses the Gathering Station so Wood, Sand, Clay, or the selected regional resource continues arriving.
- Processed materials: one vampire turns the selected input into Planks, Mortar, or another component that construction is actually consuming.
- Core supply: enough assigned labor keeps Blood moving toward the Core without requiring the player to empty a travel reserve every night.
The exact headcount can change as the onboarding and current Core limits change. What matters is that every recruit has a coffin and a specific job. If the alert feed says a worker cannot find a resource, inspect the chosen gathering region, chest stock, station queue, and start/pause control. Recruiting another vampire does not repair a queue that has no valid input.

Empower the Core only after tonight’s jobs are covered
The Core is both progression gate and shared liability. Filling it opens a regional choice, but every unit of Blood sent there is Blood that cannot protect you on the road. Let assigned servants do most of the accumulation while you gather, recruit, clear a nearby camp, or improve the castle. Before pressing Empower, confirm four things:
- your personal Blood reserve is healthy;
- every active servant has a coffin;
- the castle can continue producing Planks and Mortar without you;
- you have a manual save that predates the regional commitment.
Use the current Core interface’s threshold rather than a number from a launch guide. Several supplied walkthroughs quote early-release values, while the official July patch changed onboarding and resource availability. The visible Empower state is the reliable detector.
Spend Vampire’s Tears on the problem blocking this route
Vampire’s Tears buy Arcane nodes; they do not need to be spent as soon as they enter the inventory. Regular Tears are associated with Inquisition camps and exploration, while the larger Lord’s Tear reward is signaled by a stronger blue light in the older route references. Search a cleared camp before leaving, but do not turn the unsupported claim that every camp always contains one into a rule. If there is no blue pickup, move on.
| Your failure | Arcane direction | What changes | Risk to watch |
|---|---|---|---|
| Travel consumes the night | Wings of Night | Bat travel crosses long and vertical routes quickly. | Flight spends Blood; acceleration spends it faster. Land before the reserve becomes unsafe. |
| Camps are stronger than your current combat | Phantom | Stealth can bypass patrols and reach loot. | The base skill can end when you interact. Check the live upgrade text before assuming a pickup stays concealed. |
| Fights leave you searching for animals | Scarlet Vortex | Its branch turns nearby victims into a survival resource. | Do not use an old description: the March patch specifically fixed its Blood refill against Inquisitors. |
| You miss animals and interactable resources | Beast’s Vision | Scanning reduces blind searching and supports safer refills. | Availability and highlights are still being tuned; the July patch added Fruit of Sorrows highlighting. |
Wings of Night is the most direct route upgrade, but it is not a universal first pick. A player who cannot survive the Hell’s Chasm entrance gains more from Phantom or survival support than from arriving at the same fatal fight faster. Read the prerequisites and Tear cost in the current tree, then solve the failure you can already observe.
Use a Serpent gate as a funded detour
A two-headed Serpent gate is a Blood exchange, not a free chest. Approach with a nearly full reserve, interact with both serpent mouths, and reassess before entering. The supplied gate reference identifies a Vampire Lord’s Tear behind this type of door, making it a useful way to fund an Arcane branch when the main route has stalled.
The same source is explicitly uncertain about the progression prerequisite. Do not treat “finish Hell’s Chasm first” as a guaranteed rule. If the mouths do not accept Blood, leave the gate marked, continue the current Journal route, and return after Reveka or the regional stronghold advances. This is safer than draining Blood beside an object that is not active in your current state.
Open Hell’s Chasm first for the materials behind the next gate
Hell’s Chasm is the practical first region because its materials feed the next layer of construction and Core growth. Shadowrock and Iron appear there; Coal can come from its trees or boulders; Fire Crystals sit in damaging volcanic terrain; and Jasnara Pearls grow in its caves. The region also supports the roof and Blood-storage progression that the early castle soon demands.
That does not mean emptying the starter area before departure. Carry Blood Vials if the current recipe or trader makes them available, keep room for regional loot, and bring enough ordinary food and survival capacity to avoid hunting inside a contested entrance. Save before the first large camp.
The April update gave Medresti resources dedicated rather than random spawn locations, and the July patch added or increased selected sources. If an old screenshot points to an empty node, use the current yellow resource marker, Beast’s Vision, and the region description rather than circling the obsolete coordinate.
Claim the North Mausoleum before fighting for the village
The road into Hell’s Chasm introduces Shadowrock, tougher patrols, shield carriers, and ranged enemies. Your first route objective is not maximum loot. It is the Hell’s Chasm North Mausoleum opposite the village approach. Discover it before committing to the entrance fight so a defeat returns you to the region instead of Castle Hill.
At the camp, remove crossbow users first. Their pressure makes every shield interaction worse. Dodge red warnings, counter the yellow openings you can actually see, and use charged attacks to break a shielded defense. If the group remains too dense, retreat and pull the edge rather than trading Existence with the center.

After the entrance is safe, search the camp before following the marker. The older route places a Tear and a chest there, then sends you through a cave opening left of the scaffolding. The cave contains a Jasnara Pearl and a shortcut into the village. Treat those as landmarks, not mandatory proof that the July quest order is unchanged. If the current marker introduces one of the new Hell’s Chasm quests first, complete that objective without abandoning the mausoleum and shortcut.
Change form before asking Hell’s Chasm about Reveka
The village step is an information problem. Enter in Aristocrat form and ask broadly; not every NPC supplies the rumor the Journal needs. Hunter form is useful on the road but can make the village react to the wrong problem. Stay social until the required Reveka leads are recorded, then recruit only if the candidate fills a known castle job.
Reveka’s hideout is reached through the mine route in the older walkthrough. Before going underground, refill Blood and establish a save. Debris may require a charged attack, and the awakening chamber uses three serpent statues rather than the two-headed optional gate. Feed all required statues, then interact with the coffin when the current objective allows it. If the prompt does not advance, check whether a newly added July quest or Razvan dialogue remains open; do not keep pouring Blood into inactive scenery.
Make Iuliu’s camp pay for the stronghold
The route after Reveka points toward Inquisitor Iuliu. Discover the western mausoleum on the way if it is still unclaimed, save outside the camp, and repeat the entrance priority: ranged fighter, exposed light targets, shield, then armor. A heavy opponent may keep attacking through ordinary hits, so spend the finisher where it removes the enemy that cannot be safely staggered.
Search after the fight. The supplied Hell’s Chasm route identifies Iuliu’s letter as an interaction that opens extra dialogue with Reveka, and the nearby camp loot helps pay the next construction bill. This is the moment to stop treating the quest marker as an exit sign. Read the letter, collect Tears and saleable items that are actually present, then return.
A completed Hell’s Chasm quest is not regional control
Reveka’s story handoff does not rebuild the stronghold. The regional control loop ends only after you clear the stronghold site and satisfy its live contribution screen. The required categories in the launch-era references include Limestone, Shadowrock, Chiseled Limestone, Mortar, Glass, and Planks, but the July resource rebalance makes the current quantities authoritative.
Use a hybrid build instead of choosing between an enormous farming session and an enormous gold payment:
- Send servants for the raw resources their current stations can reach.
- Process easy components such as Planks, Mortar, and Chiseled Limestone at Castle Hill.
- Contribute what you already own and recheck the displayed gold remainder.
- Sell surplus or camp loot, then pay only for the materials whose production would delay the route.
Once the build completes, verify the actual effects in the region and Core interfaces: Hell’s Chasm should be ruled, its gathering assignments should be available, and the Core capacity should reflect the stronghold reward. Then assign defenders. A decorative outpost with no guard plan can be damaged by a later Inquisition attack, returning both cost and travel to the route. The June performance patch fixed a case where stronghold attacks could stop triggering, so an old save that seemed permanently safe is not a useful defense model.

Stop when the first region can run without rescue
The route is ready to hand off to Fey Marshes or Grove of Sorrows when all of these statements are true:
- Castle Hill has working storage, sleep, gathering, processing, and Core supply.
- Your travel reserve is no longer routinely emptied to advance the Core.
- The Arcane branch you chose solves a visible travel, stealth, combat, or resource problem.
- The Hell’s Chasm mausoleums and shortcut keep recovery local.
- Reveka is awake, Iuliu’s camp has been searched, and the optional letter has been checked.
- The stronghold contribution is complete, regional gathering is available, and defenders are assigned.
That stopping test is more durable than a copied chapter-ending line. The current Early Access build can insert dialogue, rebalance resources, or reorder onboarding while leaving the player’s real task unchanged: build a system that can survive your absence, then use it to take the first region.
