Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora does not need a numbered chapter guide as much as it needs a map of its locks. Two readable mission indexes even disagree over whether the base campaign contains 31 or 32 main missions, while the displayed regional lists resolve to the same route. Trust the quest journal and the next unlocked region, not a total copied from an older page.
The dependable line is Kinglor Forest to the Upper Plains to the Clouded Forest. Each leg teaches a tool that the next leg assumes you can use: SID sabotage, Na’vi investigation, ikran travel, multi-stage facility destruction, and finally a timed assault with no exit once it begins. This guide keeps the whole base-game route together, but stops short of pretending that every objective needs a room-by-room script.
Read the campaign by region, not by a disputed total
The useful question is not “Which mission number am I on?” It is “Which regional gate should have opened?” The route below preserves the order shared by the readable indexes while flagging the moments that change how you should prepare.
Kinglor Forest: learn the systems before flying past them
Awakening → Pandora → Welcome to the Resistance → Songs of the Ancestor → Becoming → The Aranahe Clan → Eywa’s Blessing → The Missing Hunter → A Queen’s Vision → The Eye of Eywa → Take Flight → Those Who Guide Us → Pushing Back
This leg begins without a weapon, introduces energy and healing, gives you SID, teaches clue pairing, and finally grants an ikran. If the journal still points inside Kinglor Forest after Take Flight, that is normal: the remaining story work is part of the region’s handoff, not proof that the flying unlock failed.
Upper Plains: prove that the build can survive a facility
The Wandering Clan → Hunters Hunted → The Lodge → The Weeping Gorge → Call to Battle → Combined Forces → A Victory Celebration
Some community lists render one title as “Hunters Wanted.” Follow the title shown in your client rather than treating that wording difference as a missing quest. The important state change is Combined Forces: the campaign now expects you to read a large RDA plant, sabotage in a required sequence, and survive after stealth has broken.
Clouded Forest: investigation gives way to the final assault
Escape Plan → Loss and Ruin → The Hidden Clan → Shadows of the Past → A New Plan → Into the Fog → Revelations → A Distant Storm → Rising Pressure → A Hidden Weakness → Last Strike
The region begins with confinement and escape, then uses TAP Con-1 and the Sarentu moot site to make investigation part of progress. Last Strike is the only true campaign commitment point: speaking in the Resistance Hideout Command Center starts a mission area you cannot leave until the finale is complete.
The opening is three tools disguised as story
In Awakening, eat the ration before treating the health bar as broken. Energy is what permits passive health recovery. During the RDA pursuit, the route is movement rather than combat: sprint, slide under closing doors, use charged jumps, break vent covers, and keep going when soldiers fire from protected positions. If you stop to search for a weapon, you are solving a fight the mission has not given you.
Pandora turns that escape into a survival loop. Follow the stream and then the wreckage to find So’lek. Harvest Archer’s Thicket for arrow material and search near water for Dapophet pods. At the first AMP encounter, Na’vi Senses expose vulnerable components; use the machine’s rear weak points rather than spending the new arrow supply on armor. The lesson is portable: scan first, then choose the angle that exposes a component.
Welcome to the Resistance adds SID. Its first maintenance nodes distinguish a simple alignment interaction from a timed path hack. Keep that distinction in mind at every RDA installation: a highlighted line tells you where the circuit goes, but the symbol on the endpoint tells you whether to repair, hack, or destroy it. At Pneumatic Tower Echo, do not shoot the tower blindly. Break the generator, hack the cooling unit, shoot the exposed cooling component, then hit the emergency vent when it opens. If reinforcements keep replacing the patrol, finish the sabotage window instead of farming enemies.
Take Flight is the first routing hinge
The rookery climb is deliberately repetitive. Meet Nefika, climb until the ikran refuses the bond, then continue upward and approach again. The refusals are checkpoints, not a signal that you missed a collectible. At the summit, soothe the ikran, choose its appearance, and complete the first flight. From then on, plan expeditions from landing access backward: mark the quest, identify a safe dismount, and carry materials for the ground section rather than assuming the ikran will bypass every defense.
Before leaving Kinglor Forest, use the pause to correct three weaknesses:
- Gear below the quest’s displayed Combat Strength: craft from the best verified-quality materials you can reliably gather; do not chase a fixed launch-week build.
- No answer to armored targets: keep a way to expose or hit components and a close-range option for rooms where a longbow lane disappears.
- Low food and healing: arrive with energy food and a full Dapophet reserve. Passive recovery cannot help when energy is empty.
The failure signal is not merely dying. If ordinary patrols consume every heal, if one AMP drains all ammunition, or if the quest marker is red against your current Combat Strength, stop treating story progress as the upgrade source. Clear a nearby activity, gather better material, or craft one meaningful replacement, then return.
Combined Forces tests whether you can read an RDA plant
The Extractor Plant is a chain, not a single demolition target. Enter through the loading area, work into the gas mine, and sabotage the injectors. Deeper inside, the visible extraction-fluid pipes become the targets. Processing Room B then pairs pipe destruction with pressure control: damage the marked mixer pipes and close the corresponding valves before moving to the next pair.
Use the objective text as a circuit diagram. When the marker does not advance, check the last machine for an unbroken pipe, an untouched valve, or a panel that changed state on the other side. Running farther into the plant usually makes the route harder to read. Once the facility turns loud, stop protecting a perfect stealth run; preserve health, clear the enemy that controls your workspace, and finish the active sabotage step.
A Victory Celebration follows, but do not read the quieter title as permission to empty every reserve. Escape Plan begins the Clouded Forest leg with another controlled sequence: find Billy, disable cooling, continue until ventilation can be shut down, and survive while the exit is opened. Keep a compact combat loadout equipped before triggering transitions. Menus and crafting opportunities are less useful once an escape sequence is already moving.
Into the Fog only advances when the investigation is complete
At the old crash site, locate and hack the black box before following the recovered coordinates. In TAP Con-1, restore power, trace the distorted recording, and deal with the feral thanators before treating the office as the end of the search. The facility points to a second investigation at the Sarentu moot site.
At the Circle of Songs, the clues are spatially separated: a Sarentu mural near the entry side, the Kame’tire gifts beyond the southeast passage, RDA evidence in the polluted area, and another Sarentu object near the opposite decorated wall. The interaction order is flexible, but all evidence must register. If the quest will not advance, sweep the perimeter with Na’vi Senses and compare the investigation panel’s remaining slot instead of replaying the facility.
The quest closes only after returning to the Hollows and following Okul into the Circle of Ancestors. That conversation is the state change that joins the Kame’tire to the wider resistance. A cleared TAP Con-1 alone is not the regional finish.
Prepare Last Strike before entering the Command Center
The warning at the Resistance Hideout is literal. Do all crafting, pouch refills, skill spending, and gear comparison before entering the Command Center. A practical final kit has a reliable quiet weapon, a close-range answer for interior rooms, full healing, energy food, and enough ammunition or crafting material to survive several distinct arenas.
The assault repeatedly opens the base for one clan at a time:
- Use the cave beneath Mercer’s base, cut power to electrified paths, and survive the first ambush.
- Reach Teylan, locate the drill charge, and hack the gate that admits the Kame’tire.
- Clear or bypass the Armor Bay warehouse, then destroy the red computers controlling the turrets.
- Reach Bridge Control and use SID to lower the bridge for the Zeswa.
- At the antenna deck, survive the access windows, shoot the exposed fuse boxes, and hack the anti-air terminal so the Aranahe can enter.
- Follow the drill charge into the firing chamber, destroy both arms’ explosive canisters, and damage the panels exposed beneath them.
Mercer’s Personal Guard has more guns, which also means more visible components. Break the mounted weapons and canisters rather than feeding damage into the center mass. After the fight, the mission becomes a timed escape. Close fire valves, time jumps past vent bursts, and preserve enough time for the final security-level hack that raises the drill charge. If the timer is collapsing, stop fighting enemies that do not physically block the route.
New Game+ begins after Last Strike, not after a DLC
Title Update 2.0 made the completion rule explicit: load a save where Last Strike is finished, open Options, and choose New Game+. The new slot carries the completed character’s gear and skills into a stronger version of the main campaign and adds a new skill tree and higher-level equipment. Third-person view is a separate toggle and can be changed during play.
Do not wait for The Sky Breaker, Secrets of the Spires, or From the Ashes to unlock New Game+. The two Season Pass story packs are not New Game+ campaigns, and From the Ashes has its own main-menu entry and a different playable lead. Finishing the base route is the required state.
