Everdream Village’s opening route ends when the banker, miner, and smith have left Desert Island with you and each has a finished home in the main village. Reaching that point takes four connected story days: repair the farm, complete the family picnic, cure and house the fisherman, assemble his boat, settle the sisters’ dispute, and ferry all three recruits home. If your save has drifted away from the day labels below, follow the current journal objective rather than sleeping simply to change the calendar.
This walkthrough covers the Early Access PC build and was reviewed on August 8, 2026. Steam lists Everdream Village as an Early Access game, so later patches may alter markers or quest wording. The actions and completion signals below are the safe way to locate the unfinished part of the opening without inventing a missing requirement.
Day 1: repair the farm before staging the picnic
Speak to Mom, then Grandpa, and place the workshop that is already in your inventory. Do this before collecting a large wood stockpile: the first fence recipe belongs to the workshop tutorial, so loose materials alone cannot advance it. At the assembly board, start with the long five-hole frame, fit the bundled center pieces, close both ends with the thicker sticks, and fill the final socket. Carry the completed fence sections to the cow pen and bridge its visible gaps.
The kitchen is a separate repair in the same opening quest and needs four wood. If the pen looks finished but Fixin’ For The Future remains active, inspect the kitchen and speak to Grandpa again instead of crafting more fence. The quest is ready to close only after both repairs have been accepted.
Mom then sends you to clear the picnic ground with the wooden sword. One bush releases a bison. Chase it toward the quest marker, use the dash to close the distance, and feed it grass gathered from cut plants. Return to Mom after the chase. Collect the loose tables and chairs around both houses, then ask Grandpa for the missing chair and lunch-table recipes. He also gives you the butterfly net.
Make planks with the saw outside the kitchen, following the alignment prompts until the cut registers, and assemble the missing chair and table at the workshop. Crafted furniture still has to be placed at the picnic site. If Mom keeps repeating preparation dialogue, count the furniture at the site and check the invitation task; decorative objects do not replace a requested table or chair.

Two family errands fit around the picnic work. Dad’s Bones of Time quest gives you a detector; use it near the red search area close to home, follow the stronger sound, and dig with the terraforming tool. Look uphill and north from the farmhouse for Grandpa’s runaway herd. Use the magic hat beside the wandering black dog, approach the cows in that form, and bark whenever the group slows until every animal crosses the pen line. You can trigger a brief follow by petting instead, but it expires faster. Report to Grandpa after the animals are inside, then use the house to move to the next day.
Day 2: finish the banquet and treat the fisherman
Grandpa first asks for milk. Equip the bucket, complete the milking minigame, return to him, and use the gift interaction to hand over the filled bucket. Merely carrying it does not complete Milk Treat.
Grandma’s field job asks for 100 new patches. Turn the ground with the hoe, sow the vegetables you have, and use the watering can across every planted patch. Top it up at nearby water whenever it runs dry. You do not need to wait for all of those new plants to mature before continuing. Harvest the requested vegetables from Grandma’s existing garden, deliver them, and take the cooking handoff.
Prepare both requested dishes in the repaired kitchen. For the vegetable casserole, press the prompted control as each ingredient crosses the target box. Find the travelling merchant and add him to the guest list, set each cooked item on a picnic table, then return to Mom. If the banquet still will not begin, recheck the two dishes, the merchant invitation, and the final conversation with Mom. The story advances when the picnic is interrupted by a strange noise, not when the tables merely look full.
Follow the new marker to the fisherman by the water. His medicine needs eight herbs. Change into dog form, equip the medicinal-herb sample, and follow the visible scent rather than searching the entire island by sight. Several green herbs grow in the forest west of the house among reddish grass. Keep collecting until the journal reaches eight, brew the potion at the kitchen, and deliver it to the fisherman. Gathering the plants without brewing and handing over the medicine leaves his later work locked.
You can also complete Emil’s cutting job during this day. Use the tape on every tree he specifies, let his work finish, and close the job in conversation. The resulting wood pile becomes useful when the fisherman and the three Desert Island residents need buildings later.
Day 3: match each animal task to the correct interaction
The day’s animal jobs look similar on the map but use three different controls:
- Pasture work: enter dog form and speak to the marked cow. Cut daisies and scarlet clover with the sword, then sow both inside the pasture.
- Golden eggs: equip the egg supplied by the chickens while in dog form and follow its scent. The missing eggs are small and commonly sit along cliff edges, so use the trail endpoint rather than scanning the middle of the field.
- Natalie’s kittens: buy the wellies from the merchant, give them to Natalie, and follow her. Dog form does not move the kittens. Return to human form and pet them every few seconds so their short follow does not expire before they reach home.
If an animal stands still, change the interaction before assuming the quest is broken: barking moves the runaway cows and later the donkeys, an equipped scent sample reveals herbs and eggs, and repeated petting moves the kittens.
Finish every fisherman job before trying to sail
After receiving the cure, the fisherman gives you a rod and asks for his belongings. Pick up the two oars on the beach, the basket to the south, and the remaining objects along the northern shoreline. One basket is in the water and cannot be collected by walking over it. Cast the fishing rod and hold the minigame arrow in the indicated direction until the basket is pulled out. Compare the journal count with your inventory before returning; the water basket is the easiest item to leave behind.
Next, place the fisherman’s hut foundation anywhere on the beach, turn wood into planks, and complete the repair. Sell spare items if the build stops because you lack money. A placed foundation is not enough: finish the structure and speak to the fisherman so Landlubber closes.
The Grand Voyage sends you through several marked coastal areas for wreckage. Each marker covers a search zone, so circle the edge as well as the center for broken timber and mechanical pieces. Once every part is collected, assemble the boat at the workshop in this order:
- Lay the curved pieces that establish the bottom of the hull.
- Use the crimson alignment marks to position the long central rod.
- Build the colored perimeter before filling the smaller interior openings.
- Add the poles and the sail at the front.
If a piece appears to fit more than one opening, use the displayed diagram or the game’s autosolve instead of forcing a plausible shape. Do not leave the workshop until the assembly registers as complete; owning every wreckage part does not make the vessel usable.

Day 4: work both sides of the Desert Island dispute
After one more conversation with the fisherman, use the beached vessel and head west to Desert Island. Use the minimap to find the tall moustached man. He is the banker, and he directs you to his daughters, the miner and the blacksmith. Talk to both sisters. Their work can be interleaved, but both sides must reach the mine before the family will leave.
For the miner, clear weeds in the marked mining area with the shovel. Unequip your tool before catching the mice near the entrance; they require empty hands. During Stuck in Your Ways, activate dog form, initiate the donkey interaction, and repeat the bark while walking the group toward the miner. Then equip the pickaxe, break the gray ore deposits attached to the cliffs, and deliver the ore. If Stronger Together remains open after Under Treasure, switch to the blacksmith’s work rather than mining random stone.
Hand the mined iron to the blacksmith. Draw water into the slack tub, use the matches to start the cold fire, and work the bellows. Speak to her whenever a forge station changes state so the next instruction appears. During The Makings of the Legend, lead her to the miner, allow their conversation to finish, equip the tempered pickaxe, and break the deposit at the heart of the mine.
Official Update 1.17 fixed a bug that could block Forging a New Path because the smith could not be spoken to. If she has no interaction after the ore, tub, fire, bellows, and sister meeting are complete, first confirm that the game is on Update 1.17 or later. On a current build, revisit those visible states in that order. Do not spend time hunting for an extra ore requirement that the written route does not establish.
Cave In is the last escape job on the island. Chase the mice toward the room with the door, smash the blocking boulder with the pickaxe, leave the mine, and report to the banker. Reaching daylight without that report leaves the recruitment sequence unfinished.

Bring all three residents home and finish their houses
Seat the banker, miner, and blacksmith in the boat together, then return to the main island. If the departure will not start, walk the shoreline and check that all three have boarded before taking the helm again.
Back in the village, buy three building signs from the merchant and place the corresponding blueprints. The miner’s home advances The New Place of Mine, the banker’s building belongs to Investing In The Future, and the smith’s house continues Forging A New Path. Their positions are flexible; choose clear ground that fits each outline. Reuse Emil’s wood pile if it is available, complete all three structures, and finish the resident conversations.
The opening is complete when all three specialists are off the boat, their buildings are finished, and their journal conversations have cleared. If one name is still active, return to that person’s last unfinished action: the miner’s ore handoff, the smith’s forge and reunion, the banker’s cave report, or the unbuilt house. That is the shortest recovery path and avoids replaying the first four days.
