Home Safety Hotline Answers: Base Game and Seasonal Worker

Home Safety Hotline responder screen with a caller and the hazard manual open

Full answer spoilers start here. The base game requires 55 submitted diagnoses: 4 on Monday, 5 on Tuesday, 6 on Wednesday, 9 on Thursday, 10 on Friday, 13 on Saturday, and 8 in the Sunday Trial. Seasonal Worker adds 39 more across four shifts. Match the caller to the exact entry in the tables below, and never submit an answer for a story or nuisance call.

Home Safety Hotline responder screen with a caller and the hazard manual open
The responder screen gives you three separate clues: the transcript, the recording, and the manual entry. The answer list is safest when you still confirm that all three point to the same hazard.

The Sunday Trial removes the manual used during the first six shifts, so its riddle answers have their own table. The base game’s 11-achievement cleanup follows the successful Sunday ending. Complete that work before starting the separate Seasonal Worker story; the DLC keeps the same caller-to-entry task but does not add another achievement path.

Use the tables without losing the perfect file

Put each caller on hold and take as long as needed. The readable walkthrough material agrees that hold time does not lower the shift percentage. What matters is the entry selected when you press Submit Answer. Listen before opening the dropdown: several calls use an audio cue that separates two similar descriptions, and later network errors can temporarily remove the manual.

Three kinds of call need different handling:

  • Named diagnosis call: choose exactly one entry and submit it.
  • Story or nuisance call: listen, close the call, and wait. Twig Sigmund, Buzz Goober, Fred Pinball, Gub Rubber, Flipper, Carol, and Hudson appear in this category at different points. Do not force an answer merely because the phone rang.
  • Trial riddle: caller names disappear and the wording itself becomes the identifier. Sunday therefore uses a separate prompt-to-answer table.

At the end of each normal shift, verify 100% accuracy before continuing toward Home Safety Expert. A later consequence call tells you that an earlier answer was wrong, but it cannot repair the submitted diagnosis. If the current platform or build offers a restart/reset option, use it before investing more days in a damaged perfect-week attempt. Do not deliberately pursue the firing ending until the successful ending and Home Safety Expert have registered.

Base answers: Monday through Wednesday

Monday

Caller Submit Discriminator
John Cockroaches Kitchen specks that resemble coffee grounds.
Grace Mice Squeaking from the attic; the recording reinforces it.
Hank Mole Large brown mounds appearing in the yard.
Tim Ticks Overgrown grass paired with a sick child and headache.

Twig Sigmund requires no response. After the shift reports 100%, open the coupon email in the Mail Box. That is the safe point to collect Job Perks without returning later to wonder whether you ever opened the message.

Tuesday

Caller Submit Discriminator
Mike Black Mold Sneezing plus a ventilation complaint, despite his pollen theory.
Hunnigan Common Hobb Noisy at night, but the living room is left spotless.
Michelle Mice Crawling in the walls and teeth marks on bedposts.
Fred Carpenter Ants Quiet scratching inside walls with no droppings or obvious damage.
Dan Desk Hobb Papers are being reorganized rather than stolen.

Buzz Goober requires no response. Tuesday introduces the central misdirection rule: diagnose the evidence, not the caller’s theory. Mike says pollen, Dan suspects a coworker, and neither theory is the selectable answer.

Wednesday

Caller Submit Discriminator
David Stair Slug A dog-sized presence stays just out of sight around basement stairs.
Peter Frozen Pipes The bathroom faucet makes a nasty noise and smell when used.
Quaid Memory Wisp He cannot recover his wife’s face from memory.
Harvey Bed Teeth Sharp growths in dirty sheets.
Wanda Termites Peeling paint low on the bedroom wall.
Gary Boggart The cream failed and power outages now accompany the living-room noise.

Fred Pinball requires no response. Wednesday is also where a network interruption can make the manual unavailable. Read the new entries before clocking in, then keep the six-answer order above nearby. Gary is the important state check: a Common Hobb would fit the original nocturnal noise, but the failed cream treatment and new electrical trouble show that the situation has progressed to a Boggart.

Base answers: Thursday and Friday

Thursday

Caller Submit Why the tempting alternative fails
Ash False Beet The problem follows home-grown produce and causes stomach pain; the faucet is a distraction.
Felicia Night Gnome The watcher is outside the window at night and breathes heavily.
Belinda Attic Gnome Ceiling impacts arrive with dust and reduced air quality.
May False Artifact A child heard the closet buzzing before disappearing; the adult could not verify it.
Leo Fracture Hobb Basement cracks are paired with half-eaten cheese.
Phil Fae Flu Headaches become specific when his eyes turn pink.
Kyle Unicorn Fungi Deep holes, wooden splinters, and a missing dog point to compulsive digging.
Jackie Travel Gnome The indoor soil and plants appeared immediately after a trip.
Larry Cellar Grotto Basement water and a sewer-like smell indicate a new underground space.

Gub Rubber requires no response. Thursday’s safest filter is a paired symptom. Cracks alone are broad; cracks plus cheese identify the Fracture Hobb. A missing pet alone is broad; holes plus a dog identify Unicorn Fungi. Do not stop at the first entry sharing one noun with the transcript.

Friday

Caller Submit Anchor clue
Patrice Sprig Tree A shed tree covered with torn fabric and black liquid.
Robert Common Hobb Kitchen clatter followed by a spotless room.
Pamela False Flower Night singing centered on the greenhouse.
Andy Lamp Sprite A flying intruder is followed by an electrical burning smell.
Albert Floor Roots Tendrils pull his daughter downward.
Helen Mirror Nymph She can no longer recognize or see herself as herself.
Ramona The Horde Needles, cans, and metal scrap repeatedly appear on the carpet.
Maple Night Wisp Bright lights flash through the windows at night.
Patty Portal A strange door creates a strong desire to step through it.
Jules Soap Sprite Small tendrils move around the bathroom and vanish under light.

Flipper and Carol require no response. Friday rewards location discipline. Common Hobb noise ends in a clean kitchen; False Flower singing comes from a greenhouse; Lamp Sprite combines flight with heat or burning near electrics; Soap Sprite stays tied to the bathroom. When two entries share a sound or body shape, the room and aftermath decide the submission.

Base answers: Saturday

# Caller Submit Do not miss
1 Brittany Wine Sprite Flapping in the cellar and broken wine bottles.
2 Ruth Wood Secretions The foul liquid leaks from a desk, and children are drawn to its smell.
3 Howard Spriggan Eyes in the trees plus questions about lawn cutting and eating fruit.
4 Jay Autumn Vines Vines surround the house while producing unnatural bliss.
5 Jill Neighbor’s Doorway She is in the wrong home with a family that is not hers.
6 Claire Fae Feast The large rotten-egg pile is on the dining table; do not switch to a smell-only gnome guess.
7 Paul Bed Bugs Children wake itchy after trying to sleep.
8 Charles Leprechaun The heating complaint is paired with a child’s tooth pain.
9 Edward Troll Warm clothes vanish and a deflating, cushion-like sound is heard.
10 Sheila Tea Sprite Buzzing in the cupboard leaves loose tea leaves.
11 Christie Bed Hag Both sleepers feel chest pressure or shortness of breath at night.
12 Carla Whistling Fungi The sound from the walls is tuneful rather than simple scratching.
13 Rachael Pooka The rotten smell is also upsetting her puppy.

The final Flipper call requires no response. Saturday is the last manual-study window before the Trial. Review the answer-entry names as concepts rather than memorizing only numbers: queen and hive, a moving nonliving object, rain over dry land, disease-bearing nuisance, wealth and disorientation, garden deterrence, destructive flame, and a seeker that delivers. Those are the eight relationships Sunday tests.

Sunday Trial answers

# Riddle anchor Submit Reason
1 Many, above, followers of a Queen Bees A hive follows its queen and is commonly built high.
2 Not living, clatters, serves a purpose, then dies Animation The moving constructed figure collapses after its task.
3 Beggar and encroacher of the dry; friend to sky water Rain Nymph The paired dry/rain language is the unique bridge.
4 Harbinger of death, pestilence, forever a nuisance House Fly It is the ordinary disease-spreading pest in the entry set.
5 Seeks those with too much; entrants lose their way Closet Labyrinth Wealth draws the domain and entering it causes disorientation.
6 Garden companions that stop those who tread Seedling The clue describes tiny territorial garden defenders.
7 Dancer and destroyer; forsaken oil and careless light House Fires The fuel-and-ignition pair rules out a creature.
8 The seeker and the one who delivers Dorcha The final title-like description maps directly to Dorcha.

Carol’s closing call requires no response. A clean run should now award Junior Supervisor for completing the game and Home Safety Expert for finishing with 100% accuracy. Let the ending and credits finish before starting cleanup; the post-game desktop is the safe branch point.

After the ending, the desktop becomes the cleanup hub. The Mail Box handles Job Perks, while the unlocked Art Book handles Behind the Screams.

Finish all 11 achievements from the perfect save

The official Steam listing showed 11 achievements when rechecked on August 8, 2026. Six are ordinary shift clears—Monday through Saturday. The remaining five are Junior Supervisor, Home Safety Expert, Job Perks, Behind the Screams, and Unemployed.

  1. During the perfect run: finish every shift and open Monday’s employee-discount email for Job Perks.
  2. After the successful Sunday ending: return to the desktop, open the Art Book, and move through all 30 pages for Behind the Screams. Merely opening its icon is not the same as reading through it.
  3. Only after Home Safety Expert is secure: launch HSH again and intentionally submit wrong answers for all eight Sunday riddles. This post-game replay triggers Unemployed without risking the perfect first ending.

This order avoids a wasteful full second week. It also avoids relying on disputed community thresholds for how many earlier mistakes cause termination. Finish the perfect week first, read the Art Book second, and fail the Sunday replay last. If the current client offers both a weekly reset and a direct post-game Sunday return, choose the visible option that preserves the completed record; do not erase the perfect file before checking that both completion achievements registered.

Seasonal Worker answers

Seasonal Worker is paid DLC released on September 20, 2024. The official description identifies a new four-day holiday storyline and 28 new entries. It replaces the base week’s promotion target with a Cheer meter: wrong diagnoses drain Cheer, and reaching zero causes the bad ending. The tables below use all 39 correct submissions rather than treating an uncertain low percentage as a target.

The DLC adds the Cheer meter but keeps the same diagnostic loop. On later calls, remember the answer sequence before a network error hides the entry text.

Three days until Christmas

Caller Submit Anchor clue
Gerald Pine Sprites Flickering lights are tied specifically to the Christmas tree.
Janet Mice Scurrying into a cupboard.
Robin Snow Golems Tall outdoor mounds plus unexpected water indoors.
Chester Forgotten Boggart Obsessive proof-seeking about a wild man.
Carl Sugar Wisps He is weak, cannot move, and wants more sugar.
Toni Mice Scratching, scurrying, and small round pellets.

Two days until Christmas

Caller Submit Anchor clue
Christine Elves A huge increase in family members accompanies cold and drafts.
Charlie Time Wisps He insists he is already dead and wants the outcome changed.
Angela The Mare Screaming from an animal-like presence in the yard.
Holly False Carolers Missing neighbors and feathers left on porches.
Ronda Lussi Thick slime near vents and a pet refusing to enter.
Kim Avalanches The caller directly reports an avalanche below a mountain.
Sam Red Nose A painful lump grows after a dog sneezes on him.
Steven Troll Squeaking accompanies the theft of a warm Santa outfit.

One day until Christmas

Caller Submit Anchor clue
Whittaker The Locomotive An earthquake-like night is paired with the neighbors’ missing-child crisis.
Nick Yulemen Cackling intruders empty the refrigerator and cupboards.
Ray Yule Goat The goat image seems to appear in food, ceiling, coffee, and wallpaper.
Kathy Avalanches Violent shaking and a huge outdoor noise.
Dorothy Belsnickel Scratched floors, sap, and pine needles after a break-in.
Laura Hans A changed husband, symbols in the attic, and a scarecrow.
Denise Cloch Foundation and drainage damage coincide with giant rocks.
Georgia Animation A constructed figure completes a theft and collapses into pieces.
Wade The Mouse King A disguised visitor leaves notes while the cat reacts at the door.
Porter The Gift Hag Creepy dolls appear for the children at night.

Hudson’s interruption requires no diagnosis. The day repeats Avalanches from the previous shift, so do not assume every caller must introduce a new entry.

Christmas Day

Christmas Day is the memory check. Stella, Geoffrey, and Dennis are the three calls where the retained references report that the manual may be unavailable. Keep their sequence fixed as Ogress, The Hunt, Perchta. The Twilight is also a valid repeated answer four separate times; repetition is not evidence that you should change the selection.

# Caller Submit Anchor clue
1 Debra Common Hobb Night fiddling ends with items gone and milk consumed.
2 Dale The Twilight Impossible northern lights and a radioactive-looking sky.
3 Stella Ogress Rhythmic rumbling approaches from the mountain. The manual may be offline.
4 Shepp Yule Cat Something large darts through the neighborhood while people fear being caught.
5 Geoffrey The Hunt A storm, power failure, and sudden pain after exposure. The manual may be offline.
6 Theodore Mountain Warlock He says avalanche, but the violent shaking is the warlock’s false avalanche effect.
7 Rod The Twilight The sky has turned green.
8 Joseph The Saint A visitor leaves an orb on the porch.
9 Beverly Antler Growths A reindeer-like headpiece appears on someone limping and biting.
10 Woodrow Wight Wandering figures outside cough and hack.
11 Dennis Perchta Blood and straw surround the attack. The manual may be offline.
12 William The Twilight Beautiful lights create emotional emptiness.
13 Mariah The Sinner A chained intruder takes the baby.
14 Becky Dwarves The basement heating system keeps being activated.
15 Jana The Twilight The lights are moving closer.

Hudson and Carol close the shift without submissions. If Cheer never reached zero, the four-day storyline continues to its surviving Christmas ending. A perfect DLC report is a useful self-check, but it is not part of the base game’s Home Safety Expert achievement.

If the visible entry name differs from a guide

Do not solve a doubtful call by scanning for one repeated word. Apply three filters in order:

  1. Fix the location or victim. Wine cellar, dining table, attic, desk, pet, child, and mountain each eliminate large parts of the manual.
  2. Find the changed state. A spotless room, pink eyes, missing memory, bliss, cracked foundation, or a pet refusing to enter is more specific than a sound or smell.
  3. Check the consequence. Gary’s power failures invalidate the harmless Common Hobb reading; Theodore’s shaking invalidates the literal avalanche guess; Claire’s table-bound pile invalidates a generic trash smell.

If the current transcript, spelling, or menu label differs slightly from a guide—Mole/Moles, Avalanche/Avalanches, and regional spellings of Neighbor’s Doorway appear in the retained references—choose the matching entry shown by your client. Caller order and hazard identity are the stable checks; typography is not worth sacrificing the run over.

Version boundary: this guide was rechecked on August 8, 2026 against official Steam metadata, the official four-day DLC description, readable base and DLC answer tables, and the retained achievement walkthrough. It does not claim a permanent price, platform button map, or exact non-perfect ending threshold. The current client and its end-of-shift report should win if a later patch changes presentation.
