Atelier Ryza 3 Main Story Route: Region Order, Required Crafts, and the Final Gate

Ryza overlooking the Kark Isles from a high cliff

The Atelier Ryza 3 main story route is a loop, not a one-way tour of four regions. The reliable order is Kurken and the Kark Isles → Cleria → Kurken → Nemed → Underworld Orim → Kark Isles → Cleria and Nemed in either order → Underworld Orim → Code of the Universe. When the gold Story marker disappears, the missing step is usually a conversation, rest, delivery, equipped traversal tool, or required synthesis behind you—not an invitation to clear every side quest on the map.

This route follows the original Atelier Ryza 3: Alchemist of the End & the Secret Key through the ending and Clear File prompt. It names major locations, required crafts, and bosses, so story spoilers begin immediately. It does not cover every memoir, Character or Party Quest, supply-point recipe, achievement, Rosca Island DLC objective, or DX-exclusive story.

Follow gold Story objectives through a loop, not a checklist

Use the Quests screen whenever the field map becomes crowded. The gold scroll-and-exclamation icon is the main Story route. Orange requests, blue regional stories, pink character events, and Party Quests can be worthwhile, but they do not automatically satisfy the current gold objective. If a marker vanishes after a major scene, read the active Story entry, return to the last atelier, and check whether the route asked you to talk, deliver, rest, or equip something.

The opening Kark Isles sequence teaches that landmarks do several jobs. Activating one clears nearby map information, creates a fast-travel point, and later provides a place to create Secret Keys. If the next objective sits beyond a clouded area, reveal the nearest landmark before leaving to craft. You will then have a stable return point if the recipe exposes a missing material.

There are only two genuine order choices in the route. The first is how much optional work to do before each departure; none is required merely because its icon is visible. The second arrives after Emil’s Tablet, when Cleria and Nemed can be revisited in either order. Everything else should be read as a specific handoff between a field objective and an atelier or settlement scene.

Kurken teaches the key system; Cleria supplies the keys you can spend

Mysterious Key sends Ryza to the Fairy Lighthouse and introduces Key Creation at a landmark. The landmark needs full Landmark Power, and the interaction consumes a Hollow or Pristine Key to create a finished Secret Key. Those three names describe different inventories, which is why a full key bundle can still leave a landmark interaction unavailable.

Hollow Keys are rechargeable inputs. Returning to an atelier or the secret hideout restores them, so a long field trip can be fixed by visiting a base. Pristine Keys are synthesized inputs learned later in Cleria; creating a Secret Key consumes one. Secret Keys are the finished results. Their symbol, buff, adventure, and synthesis effects determine where they help, and using one reduces its remaining uses.

Rarity does not tell you what a key can do. Read its effect classes, element, and remaining uses before placing it in the bundle.

Adventure effects are the field category. They can open supply points, and a key with the matching element can remove an elemental barrier. A rarer key that carries only combat or synthesis effects will not replace the correct adventure effect. Keep useful traversal keys in reserve instead of spending their last use on routine gathering.

After the lighthouse, follow the Story scenes through Kurken Port and Ryza’s room. Departure, Then… then uses the Valentz Company, port, hideout atelier, and bed to move the party to Cleria. If the departure does not fire, revisit those named stops; clearing nearby character events does not replace the rest prompt.

Cleria introduces Sardonica’s two guilds, Federica, a regional atelier, and the Glass and Fairystone tasks. Build the atelier at the empty-lot sign. Its Laboratory, Research Base, or Farm style changes the regional bonus, not whether the story accepts the building. Use the new base to empty the basket, restore Hollow Keys, save, and confirm the next gold objective before following the guild routes.

The first Cleria arc ends at Pristine Key. Synthesize the requested copy, then use it at the Large Crystal Light landmark. A small batch with several uses is enough for story progress. Super Rare key farming is a separate project and can consume time and materials that the next required craft needs.

Public guides disagree about duplicating Pristine Keys. One walkthrough allows it after the duplication skill, while a detailed Steam guide says they cannot be duplicated; the official manual confirms their synthesis and consumption but does not promise duplication. Check the Multiplicauldron in your current build if you want to test the feature. For a route that cannot fail, keep the recipe materials and expect to synthesize replacements.

Leave Cleria with enough craft flexibility for Nemed

When the first Cleria story is complete, The Next Adventure brings the party back to Kurken. Speak to Lent at his house, Tao in the Valentz Company, Klaudia at Homesick Cape, Bos near Steeple Reservoir, and Federica at the port. Then return to Ryza’s house and the port. These five conversations are the departure attendance check; a newly visible side quest is not a hidden sixth requirement.

Nemed alternates between Faurre Village and the ruins, so do not treat the northern marker as a continuous dungeon. Activate the Front Gate Ruins landmark, and improve the gathering tools you use most before going deeper. A tool that still exposes only its first gathering effect will not reveal higher-tier results simply because Ryza entered a later region.

At the Central Blockade, inspect the tower door and both marked devices. The door alone does not finish the investigation. Defeat Gatekeeper, then return to the atelier and follow the Story route back to Faurre for the improved Seeds of Light exchange and the Empel and Lila scenes. Only after the village and atelier handoffs should you return to the Central Blockade landmark and pass through the northern gate.

If the gate remains closed, the repair is behind you. Check the chief’s Story conversation and re-enter the atelier rather than striking the blockade again. If a required recipe appears absent, confirm that the previous village-and-atelier scene actually awarded it before spending SP elsewhere.

The first Underworld visit reaches Windle and asks for another atelier. Build it, enter it, and complete the extension tutorial when it appears. The extension is part of the Story state, not merely a base upgrade. Leaving after the first building animation can make the next objective seem missing.

Kala’s Trial runs east from Windle, down the zipline route, and through the southern path to the Cavern of Insanity. Inside the cave, take the route that bends south around the ring and descends to Deranged King. The boss accelerates after its form change and can charge a party-wide attack after lowering resistance. Carry a group heal and a way to break, delay, defend against, or outlast the charge. A useful combat key matters more here than the highest rarity in the bundle.

The first Underworld visit is a round trip, not the endgame

After Deranged King, return to Kala’s tent and continue the Story until it sends the party back to the Kark Isles. The next task joins information from the Underworld to materials in earlier regions: Emil’s Tablet requires a Degenesis Stone and an Ancient Log. Degenesis Stone can be gathered from rocks around Faurre; Ancient Logs lie on the ground in the ravine near the Dragon Tree landmark. Meet the recipe loops and save stronger equipment materials for the final party.

Carry the tablet to the Gate of Honor area and inspect the three marked monuments. The western coral-island stop includes a fight. The eastern monument is reached underwater, so an unequipped Air Drop is a hard stop. Synthesize Air Drop, equip it from the Items menu, and return; a different Secret Key will not solve that route.

Return to the Kark Isles atelier after all three monuments. The completed device connects the ateliers, and Riding on the Dragon Vein lets you choose Cleria or Nemed. This is the campaign’s meaningful route split: both investigations are mandatory, but neither return branch requires the other to be completed first.

Returning to the Kark Isles is progress. It is where the regional findings become the next shared route.

Choose Cleria first when you want to finish the synthesis-heavy branch

Report to the Artisans’ Union, compare the regional material with the Seeds of Light, and investigate the Spinel Forest waterfall and the crystal lake downstream. The branch then asks for Duet Solvent Solution EX. Its new ingredient is a Dark Crystal Fragment, gathered from the purple crystal nodes in the canyon south of the atelier.

Deliver the solvent at the Union and synthesize the Fairystone Compass with Scintilla Ore from the Glasswork side and Lujada’s Fairystone from the Fairystone side. Then make Saverio’s Hammer Brooch and Alberta’s Flame Hair Clip, delivering each item to the correct guild recipient. Return to the atelier, rest, and revisit Marmo Square and the atelier as the Story directs. Crafting both accessories without handing them over leaves the branch open.

Choose Nemed first when you want the shorter investigation route

Visit the Chief’s Manor, inspect the central tree, and travel from the Collapsed Wall toward the northeastern wetlands and Faurre graveyard. Return to the manor, then complete the final pass through the pond, central tree, and atelier. The temple request can award useful weapon recipes, but it is optional and does not prove that The People of Nemed is finished.

After both regional investigations, Moment of Pursuit resumes at the Valentz Company. Go back to the Kark Isles atelier, then use the Flotation Reactor landmark on Kurken for the scene at the island’s heart. If that scene will not continue, use the connected ateliers to check which regional Story branch remains active.

Three tools open the Code; only one needs an effect audit

The final Underworld visit provides the Glove of Another Sky after the Windle and Fairy of Solace scenes. Later, What Chart of Another Sky Shows asks for the Globe of Another Sky. Synthesize the globe, return to the chamber where Ryza first obtained the key, and then go back to the atelier. Those scenes combine the globe, tablet, and key into the route through the Gate of Honor.

The older adventuring tool is the one that needs inspection. Your Emerald Band must display All Crystal Connection. The Code uses crystal colors that a lower-effect band cannot cross, so owning or equipping a basic Emerald Band is not sufficient.

Finish the core recipe path before using a synthesis key. A key can improve an open route through the recipe; it cannot replace a missing core category.

For a fresh Emerald Band, gather Emerald Glass around Sardonica, fill the core loops, reach at least 100 quality, and complete the two Effect 1 loops until the result preview names All Crystal Connection. If you already own a legal band, Item Rebuilding can reopen the Effect 1 path; add enough lightning value to finish both loops before the rebuild-level cap stops further ingredients. In either method, the effect name on the finished item is the success test.

Do not respond to the final preparation quest by making perfect equipment for all eleven characters. Choose one active trio. Build their weapons and armor from a coherent set of improved ingots or cloth, duplicate eligible synthesized components with Gems, and give more than one active character access to party-wide recovery. Upgrade a gathering tool only when the ingredient you need remains locked behind its current effect tier.

Inside the Code, power the lifts and save resources for the real phase

In the Code of the Universe, stone pedestals power the lifts. During The Fate of the People of the Age of God, use the All Crystal Connection path to reach the pedestal for the northern lift. Later, defeat Sentry Guard, activate both orange crystals beside the walkway, use the pedestal beyond the opened gate, and ride the powered lift to the Workshop landmark.

An Ancient Dragon guards the last island. Mana Drain stacks to three before Arc Ray, a party-wide attack that also lowers magic resistance. Either finish the dragon before repeated Arc Rays exploit that lowered resistance, or keep the group healthy enough to survive the charge and recover immediately. The black Story key created after the fight opens the final chamber.

The first phase of the final fight contains a scripted transition. Around half health, the boss locks its HP, charges, and reduces the party to zero before the encounter restarts. That apparent defeat is required; do not reload. The real phase restores the boss, both arms, AP, and Tactics Level.

Break one arm, then the other, before committing to the main body. Each surviving arm strengthens the center, so spreading damage among all three targets preserves the boss’s advantage. Eliminate Target can apply sleep or poison, and the recurring charge demands prompt group recovery. Keep the healer usable, then cover the charge with break pressure, defense, an Order Drive, or an appropriate defensive key instead of spending every resource on a burst that cannot finish the fight.

Make the manual save before the last room; use Clear File for cleanup

The last-room warning says unfinished quests will become unavailable during the ending sequence. Make a separate manual save, enter, finish the boss, and create the Clear File when prompted. Loading that file can return you to the state before the final battle or begin a new run. Choose the return option when you want to finish memoirs, character stories, World Quests, rare-key farming, secret recipes, ultimate weapons, landmarks, achievements, or DLC.

The ending route continues from the Flotation Reactor through Ryza’s house and farewell scenes in Kurken, Cleria, Nemed, and Windle. Follow every current gold Story marker before returning to the secret hideout. If a farewell seems absent, check the other regions on the world map; repeating the final boss is not the trigger.

Once the Clear File exists and can return you to the pre-final state, the original-game main route is complete. The optional systems share materials and locations with the campaign, but none of them needs to delay the ending.
