The Island – Escape Room Walkthrough: Beach to Final Door

Forest path on the island in The Island - Escape Room
Forest path on the island in The Island - Escape Room
The route crosses eight fixed areas before the final keypad becomes usable.

The final door code in The Island – Escape Room is 3601, but entering it early is not enough: you must first open the Control Room cabinet with VRT and collect the helicopter manual. The route reaches that point in a fixed order—Beach, Cave, Forest and Farm, House exterior, House interior, Corridor, Mountain Ledge, and Control Room—so a station that has not accepted its input can block everything after it.

This walkthrough covers all 53 progression puzzles in the retail game. It does not map the optional notes for the Reader achievement, use the separate demo route, or invent an alternate-ending path.

Beach

Read the message in the sand, then face every stone arrow toward the matching symbols on the mountain. Shape alone is not enough; stand where you can see the mountain symbols and check the direction of each arrow. Acceptance opens the route into the Cave. If that path remains closed, the Beach board has not registered the orientation.

Cave

Colored mushroom clue inside the cave
Color, scale, position, and viewing direction all matter inside the Cave.

The Cave contains nine independent mechanisms. Clear every row below before looking for the exit; completing only the last panel does not bypass an earlier unsolved station.

Puzzle Input Clue or retry check
Mushrooms Red, blue, green, yellow, pink, white Read the colored wall marks rather than sorting the mushrooms by their physical positions.
Weird stones Biggest, big, small, medium-small, smallest, medium-big The white mushroom supplies the scale. Recheck the two middle sizes if the order is rejected.
Large levers Fully down, position 3, position 4, position 2 Compare the four levers with the left-side stalactites and count every position from the same end.
Small levers Up, down, middle, middle, down Use the stones in the lake. Make sure either middle lever is resting on its center stop.
Circle stones A vertical rectangle with a center line facing left Orient the result against the circular mark on the pillar behind the station.
Stone-symbol buttons X, lined circle, triple-bar mark, pyramid The ordered strip is back at the Cave entrance. Clear a partial attempt before trying all four again.
Plants Plant 3 in slot 1, 4 in slot 2, 1 in slot 3, and the remaining plant in slot 4 Match the missing plant shapes to the numbered pots; do not number plants by pot position.
Six buttons 2, 5, 4, 6, 1, 3 Trace the connected route on the stone plaque to the left, then enter the whole sequence from a reset board.
Four buttons 3, 4, 2, 1 The mushrooms behind the buttons encode height order. View all four from one fixed position.

Once all nine mechanisms have registered, the Cave exit carries you into the Forest and Farm section. If it does not, work backward from the four-button panel and look for the first station that still has no accepted result.

Forest and Farm gate

  1. Cut trees: enter 3254. Each digit is the branch count on its corresponding stump.
  2. Buttons board: fill the row marked 9 except its zero cells. Fill row 8 except its zeros and the column already occupied by the 1 from row 9. Fill column 5, then place the row-6 buttons only where 0, 1, or 2 has not already claimed a cell. Put the final two buttons in the remaining column-4 cells. If a total fails, clear the board and rebuild it in the 9 → 8 → 5 → 6 → 4 order instead of patching individual cells.
  3. Branches in stone: align the two layers with A over B to reveal 3461. If the digits are not legible, the layers are still offset even when their outer edges look aligned.
  4. Painted trees: move until the separated paint marks join into 5924. This is a perspective puzzle, so change your camera position before changing an otherwise plausible alignment.
  5. Fence door: set the clock dials to down, left, left, right—the 6, 9, 9, and 3 o’clock positions. The nearby numbers describe clock directions, not a keypad code.

The accepted clock arrangement opens the fence and gives access to the farm buildings and the outside of the House.

House outside

Farmhouse and windmills outside the house
Three outdoor answers must be carried into the final symbol-wheel station.

Do not treat the symbol wheels as a fresh puzzle. They combine results from the windmills, the number board, and the object-count board.

Station Answer How it feeds the house entrance
Three shape dials Triangle left, square down-right, circle up-right Translate the windmill blades without changing the shared viewing orientation.
Four number dials 1938 Read four vertical sequences: alternating 1/2 gives 1; +2 gives 9; -1 gives 3; and 1, 2, 3, 5 continues to 8.
Symbols board 413 Count only the requested scene objects in order: 4 straw bales, 1 wheel, and 3 windmills.
Nine buttons Top-left, bottom-middle, center, right-middle Look through the four windows in their numbered order; each drawing identifies one grid position.
Symbol wheels Symbols Board result on top, shape-dial result on right, number-sequence result on bottom If the wheels do not react, verify those three upstream stations rather than guessing a new wheel arrangement.

When the wheel station accepts all three carried answers, the route opens into the House.

House inside

Books. Select book 1, book 2, the medium-height book identified by the first middle candle, book 3, book 4, the tallest book, book 5, then the smallest book. The table establishes the numbered books; the candle and fire clue inserts the height-based choices.

TV. Enter 6682. Reduce each displayed number to one digit by repeatedly summing its digits; for example, 1356 becomes 15, then 6.

Bar chart. Slide the pieces until every bar joins into one continuous chart that matches the intended outline. This is a visual arrangement, so there is no safe numeric substitute. Preserve a cleanly joined edge while correcting a broken one.

Bathroom buttons. Set the six positions to top, middle, middle, bottom, top, bottom. This result comes from the finished bar chart; if it fails, return to the chart instead of reversing the button list.

Drawing pieces. Use the painting values house 5, flowers 4, hand 2, bird 9. Identify each picture first, then apply its hidden numeral rather than using discovery order.

Number-sum board. Put 2, 8, 9 on row 1; 6, 3 on row 2; 4, 7 on row 3; and 3 plus the first 7 on row 4. Every row and column must meet its printed total, so recheck the shared 7 if one direction balances and the other does not.

Door keypad. The component results total 198, but the keypad requires four digits: enter 0198. Omitting the leading zero leaves this House checkpoint incomplete.

Corridor and Surveillance exit

  1. Open the first door with 7958, reading the fading fingerprints from strongest to weakest rather than sorting the keypad digits.
  2. On the left box, press 2, 4, 1, 3. The sparks supply the order from smallest to largest.
  3. For the middle box, start where the paper marks the beginning, follow the arrows, and record the numbered stops: 4325. Starting from another edge preserves the arrow pattern but changes the answer.
  4. On the right box, watch a complete light cycle and enter 2, 3, 3, 4, 1. Beginning halfway through shifts every position.
  5. Balance the weights with 1, 2, 4, and 6 on the left platform and 3 and 5 on the right. Both platforms should settle at the same height.
  6. Connect the electrical cables before using their arrangement as the keypad code 217.
  7. At the final corridor keypad, pull the monitor-side levers identified by the nearby numbers. The revealed code is 3649; a missing digit means its lever has not reached the active position.

Code 3649 clears Surveillance and opens the exposed Mountain Ledge.

Mountain Ledge

Most failures here come from reading a correct shape or sequence from the wrong direction. Keep the stated reference point while entering each result.

Puzzle Result Direction or recovery
Four symbol circles From the outer ring inward, put the oval, triangle, diamond, and rectangle fragments at the top Judge each fragment beneath the dark pointer, not by the appearance of the combined symbol elsewhere on the disc.
Sliding tiles Reproduce the picture carved into the rock above the panel Preserve correctly joined regions and compare silhouettes rather than relying only on color.
Stone pillars Circular pillar second, hexagonal pillar to its right, pyramid fifth, square last Count every slot from the same side before placing the remaining pillars.
Animal tiles RIGHTRIGHT Enter the word twice from left to right; do not reverse the second copy.
Mountain levels Read bottom to top and set 1, 2, 4, 3, 5 The bottom slider is the lowest mountain. If the exact layout does not trigger, reset it and retry after reopening the game. Intermittent non-acceptance has been reported, but its cause is unconfirmed.
Geometry symbols Square, swirl, star Follow the chain downward from the top circle; restarting midway can invert the route.
Nine form tiles Press every target except top-middle, middle-left, and middle-right Combine the two revealed columns and reset if any excluded cell is lit.
Stone door tiles Bottom-left → bottom-middle → bottom-right → middle-right → top-right → top-middle → center → middle-left → top-left Trace the line from bottom-left. Beginning at the opposite end is not the recorded route.

The accepted stone-door line leaves the Ledge and gives access to the Control Room.

Control Room and final door

Computer panels and door inside the control room
The computer outputs and helicopter-platform clues converge at the cabinet.

Enter the room and clear computers A-F

  1. Read the stair digits in travel order and open the first door with 7591.
  2. Computer A: press top-middle, top-right, middle-left, center, bottom-left. The lit ceiling panels outside the window define the grid. If the view is blocked, use the switches immediately to the right of the window to open it.
  3. Computer B: count the colored chairs in the color order shown on screen and enter 7584.
  4. Computer C: use poster position to arrange the wall digits as 4291; do not order them by distance from the computer.
  5. Computer D: select triangle, octagon, square, pentagon, corresponding to 3, 8, 4, and 5 sides.
  6. Computer E: use the big square in slot 1. Set slots 2, 4, 7, and 8 to big; set slots 3, 5, and 6 to small. The dark-blue paint above and below the rear columns identifies the relevant shapes.
  7. Computer F: decode the Braille with the reference books and enter 9740. Keep each dot cell in the same orientation as the library key.

Turn the helicopter clues into the cabinet code

  1. At the window buttons, press top, top, bottom, top, bottom, bottom. The square marks are ordered on the bars beneath the metal platform.
  2. Set the six switches to horizontal, descending diagonal, ascending diagonal, horizontal, vertical, descending diagonal. Read the platform lines in one direction and keep the two diagonal slopes distinct.
  3. Combine the helicopter lamp pattern, the computer outputs, and the sheet on the tabletop. Enter VRT on the cabinet. If it stays locked, recheck all three clue groups instead of changing only one letter.
  4. Take the helicopter manual from the open cabinet, then enter 3601 at the final door.

The run is complete when 3601 opens the last door. If it does not, first confirm that the cabinet opened and that the manual was collected; repeating an earlier computer code cannot substitute for that item.

The retail game is listed on Steam as The Island – Escape Room.
