OCTOPATH TRAVELER 0 has two story tracks that must meet before the final arc: the ring campaign and Wishvale’s Kindlers of the Flame line. After the Prologue, finish Kindlers Chapters 1 and 2, rotate through the three Master stories by chapter number, complete Master of All, and then clear every Bestower branch. Keep returning to Wishvale as its remaining Kindlers chapters unlock. Bestower of All appears only when all three Bestowers and all five Kindlers chapters are complete.
This guide covers the Windows base game on Steam, App ID 3014320. The route and official update record were rechecked on August 9, 2026; Version 1.0.7.0 remains the latest listed gameplay patch. Quest names and unlock conditions follow, but boss identities and story outcomes stay out unless the quest name itself reveals them.
The campaign has two independent progression tracks
The quest log can look busy because the tracks advance for different reasons. The ring campaign moves when you finish every branch in a story band. Kindlers moves when Wishvale reaches the required resident, building, rubble, and town states. Completing one track never substitutes for the other.

Use the final column as the test for whether a phase is actually finished. Map coverage and Town Level alone are weak signals. A named convergence quest or a completed quest-log entry is much harder to misread.
Finish the opening without overcommitting to one Master
Once the Prologue ends, speak with Stia in Wishvale and complete Rekindling the Flame Pt. 1. Then find her inside the Workshop to start Kindlers Chapter 1, The Hunter Phenn. That chapter establishes the Hub and leads into the town state needed for Chapter 2.
If Phenn does not offer The Young Boy Basil, check the whole Wishvale state rather than repeating the conversation. Cook a meal at the Hub, have at least five residents, build the additional house, reach Town Level 2, clear the rubble west of the Hub, and then speak to Phenn outside the Hub. Five residents without the house, or Town Level 2 with the rubble still present, is not enough.
After Kindlers Chapter 2, turn to the three Master paths: Wealth, Power, and Fame. They are parallel stories, so your initial choice does not erase the other two. The useful order is horizontal:
- Finish all three Chapter 1 quests: The Covetous Witch, The Scarlet Tyrant, and The Genius Playwright.
- Then finish all three Chapter 2 quests: A Flower Blooms, A Dream of Snow, and Fit for a Tragedy.
- Finally clear the Chapter 3 finales: Herminia the Huntress, Tytos the Thunderblade, and Auguste, Prince of Thieves.
Within each group, let the recommended level shown in your quest screen decide which branch comes first. If one branch jumps above your current party, switch to another quest in the same group instead of pushing that storyline several chapters ahead. When every Chapter 3 finale is complete, The Rings Sealed Away should appear. If it does not, the missing item is one of those three finales, not a hidden fourth Master route.
Pair Master of All with unfinished Wishvale work
The Rings Sealed Away feeds into a linear eight-chapter Master of All sequence: King Pardis III, General Mahrez, Charles the Traveler, Wise King Solon, El the Swordsman, Princess Elrica, Princess Alaune, and Pardis the Scholarking. The phase ends with Trial of the Ring, not merely with the battle at the end of Chapter 8.
Use returns to Wishvale during this middle stretch to finish the other track:
- Kindlers Chapter 3, The Merchant Ludo: reach Town Level 4, clear the newly available rubble, and speak with Margot near the entrance. If Margot has no quest, recheck both the registered town level and the rubble.
- Kindlers Chapter 4, The Cleric Laurana: continue the Town Level 5 restoration objective to roughly its halfway point, then speak with Ludo.
- Kindlers Chapter 5: inspect the altar in the new church during Chapter 4. Laurana’s letter leads directly into the final Kindlers chapter.
These town chapters do not have to interrupt Master of All at one exact numbered chapter. Their role is to be finished before the last convergence. That flexibility is why the quest log matters more than a rigid minute-by-minute route.
After Master of All Chapter 8, complete Trial of the Ring and reopen the world map. Bestower of Wealth, Bestower of Power, and Bestower of Fame should all be visible. If none appears, verify that Trial of the Ring itself is marked complete. Version 1.0.7.0 also fixed a main-story completion problem that could occur under certain conditions when using Form Party, so update an older installation before treating a party-formation stall as a missing quest.
Use Wealth to open the Bestower phase
Begin with Bestower of Wealth because it is the lowest-level starting branch. Power and Fame are still parallel after that; compare the levels on your own map and take the lower one next. This is a difficulty-aware recommendation, not a hidden Power-before-Fame lock.

You can again rotate by chapter if one branch becomes uncomfortable. The campaign does not test the Bestower phase until all three Chapter 3 finales are finished, so a temporary switch costs no story progress. What does not work is treating one completed Bestower as permission to skip the other two.
Start Bestower of All only after both logs agree
Return to Wishvale after the three Bestower finales. Before speaking with Stia, check two lists: Bestower of Wealth, Power, and Fame must each be complete through Chapter 3, and Kindlers of the Flame must be complete through Chapter 5. Town Level 5 by itself does not prove the second list. When both are closed, Stia starts Bestower of All with The Black Flame.
The Black Flame is listed at level 48. Chapters 1 and 2 list 51, and the later sequence rises through 53, 55, 57, 59, 61, and 63 to a level-65 true-ending finale. Those numbers help time a branch switch or equipment check, but they do not guarantee that every party is ready at the same level.
Speaking with the ring maidens during The Black Flame is a turning point. Finish any side stories or town upgrades you want immediately available before that conversation. A later warning before Chapter 3 matters as well: proceeding can restrict fast travel and some Path Actions, which can block the next step of an active Side Story until normal access returns.
The story order is complete when The Black Flame appears from Stia after both prerequisite lists are closed. From there, follow Bestower of All as one linear arc. If Stia still has no start prompt, do not replay a finished Bestower; compare the quest log against the three Chapter 3 finales and all five named Kindlers chapters, correct the single missing entry, and return to Wishvale.
