Stardew Valley Perfection Guide: Turn the Tracker Into a Cleanup Plan

A developed Stardew Valley farm with crops, animals, casks, and production buildings

Perfection is not one final quest. It is a weighted Tracker that mixes money gates, collections, relationships, combat goals, and Ginger Island cleanup. The fastest route is to expose every category, identify which tasks must run in the background, and finish those while the farm earns the 13 million gold needed for four Obelisks and the Gold Clock.

Perfection advances faster when collections, friendships, monster goals, and construction money grow in parallel.

This cleanup plan uses an August 15, 2026 evidence cutoff and the released 1.6 rule set. Version 1.6 added new shipping items, fish, recipes, crafting recipes, and paid Perfection Waivers. Old 1.5 checklists are therefore incomplete even when their broad categories remain correct. The live Tracker and Collections tabs are the final authority.

Unlock the Tracker before trusting an external checklist

Qi’s Walnut Room sits in Island West and opens after the save reaches the required Golden Walnut discovery count. The door displays the relevant progress; spending walnuts on parrot upgrades does not erase discoveries. The current official Wiki notes an offset around the first walnut that can make the practical trigger appear after 101 total finds even though the room is described as a 100-walnut gate.

Inside, interact with the Perfection Tracker. Record every percentage and every named incomplete category. This prevents two expensive mistakes: buying an item that does not count and repeating work already completed by another system.

The 1.6 Tracker categories reviewed were:

Category Tracker requirement Weight
Produce & Forage Shipped Ship every item shown in that Collections tab. 15%
Obelisks Build Earth, Water, Desert, and Island Obelisks on the farm. 4%
Gold Clock Build the Gold Clock on the farm. 10%
Monster Slayer Hero Complete all Adventurer’s Guild eradication goals. 10%
Great Friends Reach each villager’s maximum relevant heart level. 11%
Farmer Level Reach level 10 in all five skills. 5%
Stardrops Find all seven. 10%
Cooking Cook every required recipe. 10%
Crafting Craft every required item. 10%
Fish Catch every fish shown in the Fish Collections tab. 10%
Golden Walnuts Find all 130. 5%

Counts can grow in a later release. Use them to audit a 1.6 save, not to override a larger live total.

Start the background clocks first

Some categories cannot be repaired in a single profitable week. Move them to the front of the schedule:

  • Friendship: talk to villagers on natural routes, give loved or reliably liked gifts, attend festivals, and complete quests. Kent does not arrive until Year 2, so Great Friends cannot finish in Year 1. Dating candidates count at their normal pre-bouquet maximum; children do not count.
  • Recipes: watch every Queen of Sauce broadcast and rerun. Raise friendship with recipe senders and check shops or festivals that sell recipes. Owning a recipe is different from cooking it.
  • Rare or seasonal shipping: plant the crop, tree, forage source, or animal chain before its season becomes the blocker. Put one unsold example in a labeled chest until the shipping mark appears.
  • Monster goals: read the board at the Adventurer’s Guild and combine targets with ore, coal, special-order, or Skull Cavern runs. Random combat without a live count wastes days.
  • Money: run a repeatable high-value crop-to-machine chain while the collections advance. The clock and Obelisks together cost 13,000,000g before their material requirements.

Mastery is useful but is not a separate Tracker row. Reaching level 10 in all skills opens the Mastery Cave; excess experience then earns five Mastery claims. Use its tools to accelerate remaining work, but do not wait for all Masteries before addressing seasonal collections.

Turn Collections tabs into exception lists

Do not maintain a second copy of every complete entry. Scan for blank silhouettes and solve only those.

Shipping: the item must pass through the farm shipping bin for credit. Selling it directly to Pierre, Willy, Clint, or another shop does not fill the shipped slot. Keep one of each new 1.6 seed crop, moss-related product, and other blank entry until the tab confirms it.

Cooking: place ingredients in the farmhouse refrigerator or inventory, cook one dish, then reopen the Collections tab. A recipe learned but never cooked remains incomplete. If the recipe is missing, identify whether its source is television, friendship mail, a shop, a skill, or an event before gathering ingredients.

Crafting: enable Advanced Crafting Information in Options. The recipe tooltip then shows how many times it has been crafted. Work category by category—paths and fences, sprinklers and machines, bombs and rings, signs and storage, fertilizers and seeds, Warp Totems, island recipes, and 1.6 Mastery recipes—rather than scanning one long menu by icon.

Fish: a Fish Pond, shop purchase, beach forage item, or gift does not necessarily count as a caught fish. Use the Collections silhouette to identify the missing catch, then verify location, season, time, weather, and any access gate. The fishing guide supplies the control and condition workflow without reproducing a 72-fish table here.

Batch monster goals by habitat

Visit the Guild board before and after each combat block. Group targets by where they overlap:

  • regular Mines floors for Slimes, Bats, Cave Insects, Dust Sprites, Skeletons, and deeper Shadow enemies;
  • Skull Cavern for Serpents, Mummies, Pepper Rex, and extra Slimes;
  • Volcano Dungeon for Magma Sprites and other island drops;
  • dangerous mine variants only when a quest or resource goal also justifies the increased risk.

The board count, not inventory loot, proves progress. Monster Musk can increase encounters when the build can handle density. A Burglar’s Ring is useful for drops after its Dust Sprite goal, but loot optimization and kill-count completion are separate decisions.

For a normal floor-100 reward or a deep ore day, use the Skull Cavern descent guide. A Perfection session may stay on target floors longer than that speed route because the kill counter, not depth, owns the day.

Use Stardrops as a gate audit

The seven Stardrops come from different systems, so a missing one identifies a neglected lane: the Fair shop, Mines floor 100, a spouse or roommate relationship, a Krobus purchase, a Secret Woods offering, Master Angler mail, and the Museum collection. Check the wallet and known rewards before repeating a condition. The Mines floor-100 Stardrop is unrelated to Skull Cavern floor 100.

When a Stardrop condition is met but the reward is absent, verify the exact interaction: buy it, open the chest, give the requested item to the statue, read the mail, or speak to the eligible partner. “Completed the area” is not always the same as collecting its Stardrop.

Finish Ginger Island by hint family

Leo’s parrot reports remaining walnut categories. Clear one family at a time: buried patterns and Journal Scraps, Volcano drops, fishing, Island Farm harvests, Field Office fossils and surveys, rain Gem Birds, Gourmand Frog crops, Pirate Cove Darts, and fixed hidden bushes.

The hint system omits a few walnuts, including the Banana Shrine, the three Darts rewards, and the concealed bush beside the Gem Bird area. If the counter stalls, revisit those exceptions, the first Golden Coconut, the Pirate’s Wife quest, and the two fixed Forge bushes. For movement and parrot purchase order, use the Ginger Island unlock route.

Make buildings the result of an economy plan

The four Obelisks cost a combined 3,000,000g and the Gold Clock costs 10,000,000g, plus materials and Wizard-building access. A save that buys the first Obelisk as soon as it can may delay the machines or seeds that fund the remaining 12 million.

Set a working-capital floor. Money below that line remains reserved for crop replanting, animal purchases, coal, ore processing, and machine expansion. Money above it goes to the next building. Choose Obelisk order by time saved: Island can accelerate walnuts and island crops; Desert can start Skull Cavern early; Water helps ocean routes; Earth shortens mountain trips. The Tracker cares that all four exist, not which ranking chose the order.

Decide explicitly whether a Perfection Waiver belongs in the save

After the Tracker has been inspected, Fizz can appear in the Ginger Island mushroom cave and sell Perfection Waivers. In the shipped 1.6 system, each 500,000g payment adds 1% Perfection. This is an intended mechanic, not a debug command.

Before paying, identify the exact percentage being bypassed. A waiver can be a rational choice for an inaccessible multiplayer recipe or a deliberately skipped category. It is poor diagnosis when the missing point is a shipped item already sitting in a chest. Record the before and after Tracker values so the save’s completion history remains understandable.

Run the final readback on the next morning

When the Tracker reaches 100%, sleep. The next day unlocks the Summit route and other endgame rewards. Return to the Tracker for the Statue of True Perfection. If the percentage falls after a version update, compare the new Collections entries; an older perfect save may need the added recipes, fish, crafts, or shipping items while retaining previously unlocked Summit access.

Tracker sources and patch boundary

Stardew Valley is developed and published by ConcernedApe. Verify the current release on the official Steam listing and use the official 1.6 changelog when comparing a pre-1.6 checklist. The official Wiki supplied Tracker counts, while readable community material served only as a cleanup-route audit.
