Corsair Cove Tides of Fate Walkthrough: Chapters 2–7 and Amara

A developed Corsair Cove island settlement with docks, ships, and defensive walls

Chapter 2 is where Corsair Cove stops treating a ship that cleared nearby Tier 1 events as proof that the fleet is ready. Tides of Fate now sends that fleet through several regions, asks for different objective types in sequence, and eventually starts timed story beats. The reliable route is to stage the next ship, materials, and repair stop before completing the Principle quest that opens each chapter.

A late-game Corsair Cove pirate settlement spread across waterfalls and island cliffs
Tides of Fate crosses several regions, but the decisive preparation still happens at Skull Rock before each chapter trigger.

This walkthrough begins after any first Principle quest has been completed. It does not repeat the settlement, second-Pier, or first Tier 2+ ship route covered in the published Corsair Cove opening guide. Evidence for the route was reviewed on August 15, 2026 using the released game under Patch #3 (build 1.1.3.242237). Later patches may change event values or progression blockers, so treat the live objective card and Journal as the final readback.

Open Chapter 2 with a fleet job already assigned

Tides of Fate advances when the save completes a first Principle quest: Phoenix on the Run, A Noose for Enrique, Charting with Charlie, or Raven in the Jungle. That trigger exposes three covert-operation nodes and later the Ambush for Amara. Do not fire it merely because one improved hull exists. The next route tests hints, stealth, distance, health damage, and crew damage; a one-stat specialist may enter comfortably and then fail the following phase.

Before completing the first Principle quest, perform four checks at the home Pier:

  • The mission ship is fully crewed with pirates who improve its statistics, not filled out with Swabbies that only occupy places.
  • Health, Crew, and Supplies are full, with repair materials and replacement Drifters available for the return.
  • A second ship can answer a Crown approach while the main ship is away.
  • The next Principle quest is named in the Journal. Completing unrelated sea icons does not replace that chapter gate.

A Tier 2+ hull is a practical baseline for the three scouting nodes. Read the red stat warnings rather than treating the tier recommendation as a hard lock: a well-rounded plus hull with the right Captain can cover more of the mixed objectives than a standard hull that excels at only one.

Clear the three covert operations as one repair circuit

The Chapter 2 searches sit in Whalesong Wake, the Ancient Archipelago, and the Crossbone Keys. Their order is not the important decision. Travel distance, current damage, and the nearest usable Free Port should decide the circuit.

Node Objective sequence What the ship must prove
Amara’s Tavern Spy, Whalesong Wake Gain 20 Hints; Sneak 27m; close 3,000m Dice control for Hints, then Manoeuvrability and Speed without emptying Supplies
Amara’s Jungle Lookout, Ancient Archipelago Cover 27m; Sneak 27m; reduce Crew below 50% Movement followed by enough Boarding Damage to finish the last phase quickly
Amara’s Scouting Vessel, Crossbone Keys Close 2,700m; reduce Health below 50%; reduce Crew below 75% Speed, Gun Damage, and Boarding Damage on the same expedition

Return home if either loss bar is already unsafe after a node. A Free Port can repair, restock, and replace crew without discarding a stacked Shrine of the Sea buff, but it cannot swap the Captain or unload everything the way the home Pier can. Continue only when the next node’s hardest objective still has a healthy margin.

Do not optimize the three nodes around their Coin rewards. Their function is to expose Amara’s position. The useful result of the circuit is a ship that reaches the ambush with enough Supplies to survive its phase changes.

Beat Ambush for Amara by respecting all three phases

Ambush for Amara appears near Buccaneer’s End after the covert operations. A stronger hull than the scouting baseline is sensible because the event deliberately changes the definition of progress:

  1. Survive three turns. Damage dealt here does not complete the stage. Choose mitigation, build Dice or Treasure when the enemy action is mild, and avoid spending the supply pool on attacks that the objective does not count.
  2. Gain 124 Edge. Amara can remove Edge while damaging Health or Crew. Alternate between protecting accumulated Edge and taking a large Edge action; repeated small gains can lose a war of attrition.
  3. Push both enemy Health and Crew below 75%. Dropping the hull to zero is not a substitute for the Crew threshold. Switch from Gun Damage to Boarding Damage when the Health condition is already met.

The failure signal is a completed-looking Health bar while the stage remains active. That is not a bug: inspect the Crew requirement. For the turn-by-turn decision system behind Edge, damage counters, and support actions, use the Seven Seas combat guide.

Use the second Principle quest as the Chapter 3 key

Chapter 3 is a progression gate rather than a long independent sequence. Complete the second quest in any one Principle line: Feasting with Legends, Breaking the Bastille, Sailing the Line, or Raiding with Raven. Pick the line whose ship and production requirements the cove already supports. Starting a different path to chase a supposedly easier quest can cost more than upgrading the fleet already in service.

Before turning in that quest, station a fast, healthy ship near Hidden Harbour or Calico Lagoon and remove optional detours from its route. The next chapter introduces the first important clock.

Treat Gathering of Factions as a 20-minute pickup route

Gathering of Factions begins with Admiral Machado’s trap. Four survivor nodes appear and the save gets 20 in-game minutes to reach all of them. These pickups do not contain battles, so raw combat strength is irrelevant; a ship with a clean route and enough Speed is better than the fleet’s most expensive brawler.

  • Pause immediately after the event exposes the four nodes.
  • Trace a loop that avoids reversing across Hidden Harbour or Calico Lagoon.
  • Queue only the next pickup, confirm it resolves, then select the following node.
  • Ignore random resource events until all four survivors are safe.

The four rescues provide valuable materials, including Coin, Jolly Rogers, Sabres, and Naval Guns. Those rewards are useful for the next preparations, but the pass condition is all four pickups before the clock expires. If the route is already late after the second node, reload the pre-trigger save and redraw the circuit rather than hoping the last two interactions will compress themselves.

Pay for intelligence before leaving the settlement

The next task is to learn Machado’s weakness through a faction spy operation. The Skull Rock route reviewed used Spies of the Tribe Alliance in the Ancient Archipelago, which demands 500 Black Powder, 200 Stone Blocks, and 350 Stew before its Sneak, Hints, and Crew-damage stages. Other spy choices may present a different material bill, so select the node and read its requirement before dispatch.

Stockpile the payment outside any ammunition and food reserve that keeps Skull Rock alive. The number in storage is not all available for a quest if Gun Towers are draining Black Powder or several camps are eating the same Stew. Pause, read production versus consumption, and wait until the payment can leave without turning the settlement negative.

After the intelligence event, Port Concordat holds the operation that captures Amara. Prepare a Level 4-capable ship for Sneak, Hints, and reducing enemy Crew below 50%. This is another mixed test: high Gun Damage alone cannot finish its final requirement.

Speak to the prisoner before ending Chapter 4

Once Amara is captured, a story node appears beside Skull Rock. Resolve it, then find Amara’s cage outside the settlement and interact with her. Offer her a place with the pirates. This conversation does not recruit her immediately; it sets the condition that allows the later rescue to add her as a Captain.

This is the route’s clearest missable. Do not complete the next third Principle quest until the conversation has happened. A safe checkpoint has three visible facts: Chapter 4 is resolved, Amara is at the cage, and her offer dialogue has been selected. The Captain unlock guide separates this Story Mode condition from her Blackwater route on other maps.

Let the 15-minute escape clock expire on your terms

Completing a third Principle quest starts a 15-minute story timer. When it expires, Machado helps Amara escape and the Spy Ship becomes available near Fort Vandekroon. This is not a race to prevent the escape. Use the interval to repair, replace crew, refill Supplies, and move a suitable Level 4 ship toward the region.

The Spy Ship sequence asks the fleet to close 14,400m, reduce enemy Health below 50%, and reduce enemy Crew below 50%. Lowering opponent statistics during the movement stage makes later attacks and defensive checks less punishing. If the prison conversation was completed, the rescue now recruits Amara. Without that earlier offer, winning the event cannot recreate the missing choice.

Prepare medicine before triggering the fourth quest

A fourth Principle quest advances the story again. Machado then dispatches an infected vessel toward Skull Rock. The settlement can answer it by producing Medicine; failure costs 50 Cohesion. Do not trigger the quest with Cohesion already close to that penalty or with the Medicine chain only planned on paper.

Build the chain, move its inputs, and confirm finished Medicine is accumulating before completing the fourth quest. The same rule applies to defensive coverage: a Gun Tower without ammunition production is scenery. Official Patch #3 still documents a tutorial-specific Small Gun Tower progression issue when two towers are supplied at nearly the same time, so the official workaround is to use one Small Gun Tower during that tutorial objective. That known issue does not justify inventing a fix for unrelated late-game shortages.

Choose one Proclamation, then separate Machado from the fort

The story allows one Proclamation quest, tied to a single Principle. This is a commitment, not a request to finish all four paths first. Choose the Proclamation supported by the save’s strongest hull, Captain, and resource chain. The reviewed walkthrough material recommends Level 6 strength for this final stretch; the event card’s live statistics remain more useful than the label by itself.

At Fort Vandekroon, defeat Machado before resolving the fortress:

  1. Reduce the enemy’s dangerous statistics when an early action permits it.
  2. Bring enemy Health below 50%.
  3. Close the required distance; the value can depend on enemy statistics.
  4. Gain 120 Hints.
  5. Bring enemy Crew below 50%.
  6. Open distance again, then reduce Health to zero.

The Proclamation supplies the approach used against Fort Vandekroon after the Admiral is beaten. Destroying the fort completes the story. Continuing into Uncharted Mode is a post-ending choice; it is not another missing Tides of Fate chapter.

Recover a stalled chapter from the last visible gate

Stall Read back Correction
Chapter 2 nodes do not appear Journal and first Principle quest state Finish one named first-path quest, not only generic sea events
Ambush phase will not finish Current phase text plus both enemy bars Meet Crew and Health thresholds separately
Gathering clock expires Number of survivors and travel path Reload before the trigger, use a fast ship, and run only the four nodes
Amara is not recruited Whether the cage conversation happened The later victory cannot repair a skipped Story Mode offer
Plague response fails Finished Medicine stock and Cohesion margin Prove the chain before finishing the fourth Principle quest
Final quest remains locked Fourth Principle quest, one Proclamation, and Fort node Complete the named gates in Journal order

Tides of Fate becomes manageable when every Principle completion is treated as a trigger that must be staged, not as a reward button to press immediately.

Patch boundary and story sources

Corsair Cove carries Steam App ID 1368140. Limbic Entertainment is the developer, Hooded Horse is the publisher, and release day was July 31, 2026. Verify the live build through the official Steam listing; post-launch changes appear in the official Steam news hub. The chapter order, objective checks, timers, and Amara branch were reconciled from readable walkthrough references updated through August 14; conflicting, derivative, duplicate, and opening-only material was not used to extend the story.
