BALL x PIT has 63 Steam achievements in the Naturalist build, but the shortest cleanup is not a 63-line checklist. The decisive overlap is between eight “Conquered” counters and 16 original-character mastery achievements. Plan those clears together, postpone economy totals until the base can produce them efficiently, and leave Scholar until every update-era Encyclopedia category is visible.
Current-build note: Steam still exposes 63 achievements in the build containing the August 6, 2026 Naturalist content. The three free updates added characters, balls, passives, buildings, and modes without adding a new named Steam achievement set. This route uses the visible requirements; check in-client progress counters before repeating work already credited.
The one tracking grid that prevents most repeated clears
Sixteen achievements ask one original character to complete every area. Eight more ask ten different characters to complete a specific area. Those are the same runs viewed in two directions.
Create a 16-by-8 grid with these rows:
Warrior, Itchy Finger, Repentant, Cohabitants, Embedded, Cogitator, Shade, Empty Nester, Spendthrift, Shieldbearer, Flagellant, Juggler, Makeshift Sisyphus, Tactician, Radical, and Physicist.
Use these columns:
BONExYARD, SNOWYxSHORES, LIMINALxDESERT, FUNGALxFOREST, GORYxGRASSLANDS, SMOLDERINGxDEPTHS, HEAVENLYxGATES, and VASTxVOID.
From a fresh file, clear all eight columns with ten of those characters first. That simultaneously completes all eight Conquered requirements and ten character rows. Then finish all eight areas with the remaining six original characters. The character mastery set inherently requires 128 character-area completions; doing the first ten rows consistently means the Conquered counters add no separate runs.
Regal, Shadow, and Naturalist characters may count toward an area’s ten-character total if the client records them, but they do not replace a named original-character mastery row. Use update characters for variety only after the grid is safe.
Pass one: unlock systems while clearing the story
The first journey through the eight areas naturally establishes much of the list. Do not stop to grind totals while basic buildings and blueprint pools are still locked.
| Achievement group | Requirement | Efficient handling |
|---|---|---|
| Eight area achievements | Complete each named area once | Advance normally and collect every blueprint drop you see |
| Fusion | Perform an ordinary two-ball fusion once | Level a usable pair and take the first suitable Fusion Drop |
| Evolution | Create the first named evolution | Use a simple pair such as Burn + Iron for Bomb |
| Fusion Evolution | Fuse two evolved balls | Wait until two evolutions are level three in a stable run; do not weaken an early clear to force it |
| Ballbylon Has Risen | Complete the game | Finish VASTxVOID and the final progression sequence |
| Trophy | Construct a trophy | Build one after its area requirement and blueprint are satisfied |
| Land Grabber | Expand the base five times | Buy sections when a real district needs space so worker paths do not cross empty land |
| City Planner | Collect 50 blueprints | Use each area’s remaining-blueprint counter and keep clearing nonempty pools |
The area names themselves are achievements, so the first complete run supplies story credit before the repeated-character route begins. It also unlocks the building economy needed for the large harvest and Encyclopedia cleanup later.
Pass two: complete the 16 character rows
These are the named mastery achievements and the character each row requires:
| Achievement | Required character | Rule to remember |
|---|---|---|
| True Warrior | Warrior | No trait shortcut; use it as the baseline build |
| Itch Scratched | Itchy Finger | Scattered auto-fire favors broad contact over tiny weak points |
| Repentance | Repentant | Plan rebounds before the back wall returns the volley |
| Unpacked | Cohabitants | Mirrored coverage comes with reduced individual-shot damage |
| Embedder | Embedded | Build lanes that exploit enemy piercing before wall contact |
| Cogitated | Cogitator | The character, not the player, selects the build; focus on execution |
| Long Shadow | Shade | Use the rear launch point rather than ordinary front angles |
| Golden Years | Empty Nester | Do not take a plan that depends on baby balls |
| All Spent | Spendthrift | All balls leave together, so protect the return window |
| Brick Breaker | Shieldbearer | Catch friendly returns on the shield without walking into enemy attacks |
| Masochist | Flagellant | Bottom bounces extend contact and can delay recovery |
| Entertainer | Juggler | Target the landing zone rather than copying a standard aim line |
| Herculean | Makeshift Sisyphus | Prioritize area and status effects because direct hits are not the damage plan |
| Master General | Tactician | Every committed move advances the turn |
| Radicalized | Radical | Automation must still survive every area; verify the result screen recorded each clear |
| Gravity’s Rainbow | Physicist | Relearn the firing lane under altered gravity |
Mark the grid only after the results screen or character record shows the clear. A retry, disconnect, or update-era save issue should not be treated as credit merely because the boss died on screen. The character guide gives a more detailed operating model for each trait.
Pass three: build the settlement achievements together
Several achievements are construction milestones rather than separate puzzles:
- Structural Power: use building upgrades to bring one attribute bonus to +5.
- S Rank: improve one attribute’s scaling until its grade becomes S.
- Neighborhood: build 15 housing structures.
- Bag Maker, Carpenter, Evolution Chamber, Relic Collector, and Worker’s Guild: construct each named building.
- Monument: construct an infinitely upgradeable building.
Pick one stat used by the character rows you are currently clearing and concentrate upgrades until Structural Power and S Rank trigger. Scattering upgrades across all six attributes delays both achievements and may not improve the active character. Housing and named-building achievements follow blueprint progression, so keep returning to areas whose blueprint counter is not empty.
Use a construction lane through active scaffolds and the Iron Fortress instead of surrounding each new building with finished houses. The base layout guide shows how to preserve production while those projects are underway.
Harvest totals: separate lifetime goals from one-harvest tests
| Achievement | Requirement | Route |
|---|---|---|
| Wheat Farmer | Collect 1,000 wheat in total | Keep Farms and adjacent fields producing while completing character rows |
| Woodcutter | Collect 1,000 wood in total | Keep Lumberyards surrounded by forests or later tree tiles |
| Stone Miner | Collect 1,000 stone in total | Assign Stone Mines to complete boulder neighborhoods |
| Riches | Collect 5,000 gold in total | Let normal runs, the Market, and measured mining accumulate it |
| Bountiful Harvest | Collect 100 wheat in one harvest | Build a manual lane through dense wheat only after enough tiles are available |
| Deforestation | Collect 100 wood in one harvest | Temporarily emphasize the wood lane and verify the harvest result |
| Boulder Breaker | Collect 100 stone in one harvest | Route workers repeatedly through dense stone tiles |
| Gold Miner | Mine 1,000 gold in one harvest | Leave until a developed Gold Mine corridor, worker count, and harvest duration can sustain it |
Lifetime totals will rise during the 128 character-area completions. Grinding them early wastes that overlap. The one-harvest goals are different: they require a deliberate temporary layout and must register inside one harvest. Record the starting stock and results screen if the counter is unclear.
Craft the five named achievement evolutions
Reserve separate runs for these chains unless a character-clear build naturally supplies them:
- Nuclear Bomb: make Bomb from Burn + Iron, level Bomb and Poison, then evolve Bomb + Poison.
- Soul Reaver: level Everflowing Goblet and Vampiric Sword, then evolve the two passives.
- Nosferatu: make Vampire Lord, Spider Queen, and Mosquito King, level the three evolutions, then combine them. This chain needs careful slot compression because Brood Mother and Vampire appear in multiple components.
- Deadeye’s Cross: collect and level the Sapphire, Diamond, Emerald, and Ruby Hilted Daggers, then evolve all four.
- Satan: make Incubus from Charm + Dark and Succubus from Charm + Vampire, then combine the two evolutions.
Soul Reaver and Deadeye’s Cross are passive evolutions; Nuclear Bomb, Nosferatu, and Satan are ball chains. The current evolution recipe guide contains the prerequisite alternatives and update additions.
Scholar is an Encyclopedia audit, not one recipe
Scholar requires every Encyclopedia entry, which means selecting every ball and passive at least once and creating every evolution that the current Encyclopedia exposes. The Naturalist build includes the Regal, Shadow, and Naturalist item sets, so a launch-era chart cannot close the current book.
Audit by category:
- Open Balls and record every silhouette or unselected entry.
- Open Passives and do the same.
- Open ball Evolutions and passive Evolutions separately; mark only entries whose icon is registered.
- Run a focused recipe for one or two missing entries. Do not rely on memory after a crowded run.
- Return to the Encyclopedia after the results screen and verify that the entry changed state.
Four passives commonly remain hidden behind prerequisites. Current community evidence supports this cautious procedure:
- To make Voodoo Doll available, create a curse-producing evolution such as Sacrifice in the same run, keep a passive slot open, and watch later level-up choices. Older comments report other curse balls may also work, so treat Sacrifice as a reproducible route rather than the only possible trigger.
- Heart, Shield, and Hood can enter later level-up choices after equipping a statue-type passive. One statue may be enough; if a missing item does not appear, use a different statue on the next run and keep capacity open.
These are conditional pool instructions from a readable community guide, not official drop guarantees. Do not claim failure after one reward screen. Verify prerequisites, leave a slot, and use current-client Encyclopedia state as the final authority.
Leave the pure totals running in the background
Legion Slayer requires 100,000 enemy kills. Do not build a dedicated grind before the character grid, blueprint runs, and Scholar recipes are finished; all of them add kills. Check the counter at the end, then use a comfortable high-density area only for the remainder.
The same principle applies to cumulative Riches and the three 1,000-resource achievements. Natural progress is the efficient first method. Targeted farming belongs at cleanup, when the exact missing amount is visible.
Final 63-achievement audit
- Eight first area clears and eight Conquered counters are complete.
- All 16 original-character rows contain eight recorded clears.
- Fusion, Evolution, Fusion Evolution, and the five named evolution achievements have triggered.
- All named construction milestones, 50 blueprints, five expansions, +5 building bonus, and S scaling are recorded.
- Lifetime and single-harvest resource goals are separately checked.
- Legion Slayer and Ballbylon Has Risen are complete.
- The current Encyclopedia contains no locked Ball, Passive, or Evolution entry and Scholar has triggered.
If the grid is complete but Steam is missing a named character achievement, inspect that character’s in-game area record first. If the Encyclopedia looks complete but Scholar is absent, compare the visible category totals after Naturalist rather than using an October 2025 count.
Achievement evidence boundary
The current total was checked against the achievement data exposed for AppID 2062430 and the official BALL x PIT Steam page. The Naturalist date and content boundary were verified through the developer’s Steam announcement and official PlayStation Blog post. Achievement names and unlock descriptions were reconciled across two readable all-achievement references; conditional Encyclopedia items remain explicitly marked as community-tested rather than official guarantees.
