Chapters 5 through 7 are the mechanical center of Bye Sweet Carole. Chapter 5 asks Baesie to carry electricity between numbered generators, Chapter 6 repeats that idea with A/B circuits and two dumbwaiters, and Chapter 7 makes changes in the past create tools in the future. The route below keeps those dependencies explicit, including the solvent formula and the failure signals that show which state is wrong.
The steps were checked against the current patched release. Patches 3 through 6 corrected blockers in the electrified pond, Tar Scourge fight, Chapter 6 geometry, dance prompts, fertilizer dialogue, and Chapter 7 respawns. Old footage may show a character surviving a sequence that now resets correctly.
Chapter 5’s four lights belong to one electrical circuit
At the park entrance, inspect the unpowered generator marked 2. Cross the pond to see live generator 1, note generator 4 beside the ladder, then break the boards beyond it and enter the small tunnel as rabbit Lana. Generator 3 and the chapter mailbox are on the far side. The shutter above displays four lights; opening it requires all four generators, not a code.
Use the crane near the mailbox before trying to solve the circuit. Rotate it over the raised crate, lower the claw, carry the crate left, and release it clear of Lana. Push the crate beneath the ladder and climb to the antenna route. Press the switch that raises the left security gate and drop the shortcut ladder. The letter scene restores access to full Baesie.
Send Baesie’s head back toward the mailbox, return him to full form, and break the weak wall. Lana can take the electric cable behind it. Carry the cable to generator 2; its far end enters the already electrified water near generator 1. Now put Baesie into that water. Electricity changes his state temporarily, so immediately run the charged character through generators 3 and 4, in that order. Four lit lamps over the shutter confirm success.
If the charge fades early: begin at the water again and use the opened ladder/gate route rather than circling through the crane puzzle. If generator 2 stays dark: confirm Lana actually installed the cable before charging Baesie.
The quarry is safe only while the next lamp is active
Take the elevator down, use the Quarry Key on the right-hand door, and enter in rabbit form. The buried creature attacks when Lana is outside a lighted area, so light each lamp before studying the next mechanism. The first kerosene generator has no fuel. Climb the nearby ladder to identify the upper dispenser, then turn the middle crank so a crate falls and the right-side ladder opens.
Drop the crate through the floor opening left of the generator. Descend on the right, light the lower lamp, and inspect the pump. The empty tank is on the far-left shelf. Push the dropped crate under the wall switch and press it; the pump’s pipe shifts into the correct position. Place the empty tank beneath that pipe.
Return to the upper kerosene dispenser, using the middle crank again if its ladder is unavailable. Fill the waiting container, collect the kerosene tank below, and use it on the generator. The green indicator in the elevator room confirms the exit is live. Running past dark lamps without that confirmation risks repeating the entire lower circuit.
Tar Scourge rewards bodyguard discipline
The fight begins before the boss health bar appears. Baesie’s first job is to keep rotten rabbits away from Lana while she searches for a crank. Stay close enough that one turn reaches either side, use the circular jump attack when the group surrounds her, and prioritize the large hand when it takes Lana. The hand retreats only after taking enough hits; chasing distant rabbits lets it carry her farther away.
Once Lana installs the crank, Tar Scourge begins surfacing. Do not wait underneath its next emergence or abandon Lana for a long combo. Clear nearby rabbits, hit the boss during a safe appearance, then return to guard range. The current patch fixed a crash and an unintended invulnerability state in this battle. If the health bar never becomes damageable in a current client, restart the chapter rather than copying launch-era workarounds.
Chapter 6 separates rhythm memory from generator routing
The dance lesson has two input styles. The first asks for a button as its marker reaches the action area; the solo displays a sequence while the automaton moves, then expects Lana to repeat that order. Players pursuing Gifted Learner should restart the chapter immediately after a mistake instead of completing the scene and hoping the score resets.
After Marcel pulls up the ladder, enter the far-left upper door. Generator A beside the entrance is already live. Put Baesie on the right pressure plate and send rabbit Lana through the high pipe. Keep the upper lever on A, cross the press, and use the dumbwaiter switch to bring Baesie’s head upstairs.
The press is part of the route. Place Baesie’s head in its center and Lana on its upper control so the head becomes compressed. Send that state through the narrow left opening. Once clear, wait for Baesie to recover, restore full form, and break the crates. This opens the door Lana will need when the circuit changes.
Switch to B only after Baesie has opened Lana’s door
Move Lana back to the A/B lever and set it to B. One B generator powers while the lower unit on Baesie’s side overloads. Drop Lana to the newly accessible door, take the crank, and leave her beside the lower dumbwaiter controls.
- Put Baesie’s head in the dumbwaiter and let Lana crank it up to the live B generator.
- Charge the head at that generator, drop left, and transfer the charge to the unpowered B unit.
- Return Baesie to the dumbwaiter and raise him again; the puddles below are now dangerous.
- Use the head on the upper platforms to lift the hanging wires out of Lana’s route.
- Walk Lana to the far left, then reposition the upper platforms until the hanging handle descends beside her.
- Pull the handle from the crate. The ladder Marcel removed drops into place.
Do not exit while the puddles are still electrified. Move the platforms once more so the wires stay clear, then take Lana back through the safe door. The chapter ends at the clock, not at the ladder itself.
Chapter 7 turns inventory into a conversation between eras
In the ruined future, move the crate beneath the handle, open the left vent, and enter the science room. Use the pressure plate to call the small elevator and jump aboard before it rises. Take the light bulb above. Back in the main room, climb the burned furniture for the quadrangular crank, then slide down to the damaged grandfather clock. The bolt cutter lies to the right.
Use the nearby lift to reach the save point and enter the large pipe. Cross only while the sludge outlets pause. Reading the paper in the future library causes a damaged gear to fall; take it from the lower floor and install it in the grandfather clock. That damaged gear cannot return Lana home, but it unlocks travel between the ruined future and the earlier Bunny Hall.
The critical rule is that an object carried across time may change condition. Broken glass from the future becomes a usable beaker in the past. A seed planted and illuminated in the past becomes a climbable tree in the future. A heavy bookcase pushed onto weak boards in the past breaks the corresponding floor later.

Prepare the past before asking the future for answers
In the past, avoid the cloth hunter and take the upper-left classroom first. Collect the science-room key, cut the cage for the small seeds, and inspect the crank socket. The quadrangular part does not fit; it needs a hexagonal base from elsewhere.
Open the lower-left science room. Set the center spotlight above the table, plant the seeds in the vase, and inspect the incomplete beaker station and chalkboard. Install the future light bulb in the center lamp. Use the fireplace route to reach the red chemical, then aim all three spotlights at the planted vase before leaving.
In the past library on the lower right, inspect the fireplace twice to recover the small hexagonal base. Combine it with the quadrangular crank. Upstairs, note the rusted crank but leave it for the solvent. Push the large bookcase right to reach the map and yellow element, then shove it onto the weakened floorboards. Back at the upper-left classroom, install the combined hexagonal crank and lower the cage. This last change determines whether the future cage occupant sleeps or blocks the climb.
Return to the future. The bookcase has broken the floor, giving access to shattered glass and fertilizer. Bring both to the clock: the glass becomes a whole beaker in the past. Fertilize the lit seed vase and put the restored beaker on the lab table. Travel forward again; the mature tree now reaches the upper classroom. Read the future chalkboard and collect the blue chemical from the satchel above the lowered cage.
Build the solvent by columns, not by color totals
The two chalkboards describe four layers in three separate beakers. Preserve the order shown here; merely using the same total number of colors does not solve the puzzle.
| Layer | Beaker 1 | Beaker 2 | Beaker 3 |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Blue | Blue | Yellow |
| 2 | Yellow | Yellow | Yellow |
| 3 | Yellow | Blue | Red |
| 4 | Red | Yellow | Blue |
Mixing an incorrect order first is useful only if you deliberately want the Little Chemist achievement. Otherwise enter the four rows as shown and create the chemical solvent. Take it to the upper past library, remove the rust from the crank, and turn the mechanism until the small bookcase reaches the left side. Cross the shelves and take the intact gear from the clock.
Escape the returning hunter, install the intact gear in the main grandfather clock, and climb the ladder after returning to Lana’s present. If the game repeats the fertilizer line, Patch 3 specifically addressed that confusing dialogue; verify that the fertilizer, whole beaker, spotlight position, and future tree have all registered rather than searching for another item.
Use restart only after checking the visible state
Current patches fixed several places where these chapters once trapped the player: collecting the Chapter 5 cable, transforming in electrified water, compressing Baesie, Chapter 6 geometry and camera behavior, Tar Scourge damage, Chapter 7 cliff respawns, and the fertilizer prompt. Before restarting, look for the expected confirmation: four shutter lights, both B generators lit, wires lifted, a mature future tree, or the intact gear in inventory.
When that confirmation never appears, Restart Chapter is available from the pause menu in the patched release. The next route begins at Frank’s workshop and continues through the ball and clocktower; see the Chapters 8-10 walkthrough. The achievement order identifies which dance, chemistry, death, and clean-run conditions should be separated.
