WARDOGS Price Guide: Standard vs Supporter Edition Before Early Access

Official WARDOGS Supporter Pack overview showing weapon camos, helicopter camo, scoreboard icon, and bobbleheads

As of August 17, 2026, the live US Steam choices are $39.99 for WARDOGS and $49.99 for WARDOGS – Supporter Edition. The extra $10 is for the optional Supporter Pack’s cosmetics and scoreboard icon. It is not a stronger starting bank, a gameplay unlock tier, or a requirement for the August Closed Beta.

The more important purchase question is timing. WARDOGS is scheduled to enter Steam Early Access on September 10. Either current base-game preorder includes an assured Closed Beta invitation for August 21 through 23; a small number of non-buyers may instead be selected through Steam Playtest. Prices, regional totals, access terms, system requirements, and store policy can change, so this is a dated decision guide rather than a permanent price promise.

Buy now only if Beta certainty changes the decision

The current preorder has one functional timing benefit: it includes an assured invitation to the Closed Beta held from August 21 through 23. The official announcement says native Steam Playtest requests remain available to a small random group, but the original external-key route is no longer the dependable path. If playing that weekend matters enough to justify purchasing before public Early Access, Standard already grants the entitlement.

If the Beta is not important, waiting removes several unknowns. Public player feedback can test server stability, performance, controller limitations, balance, the amount of Early Access content, and whether the persistent-cash loop fits your tolerance for risk. The developer explicitly frames the game as a work in progress and expects roughly one to two years in Early Access, with duration subject to development and community feedback.

Do not treat the developer’s encouragement to refund an unsatisfying Beta as guaranteed approval. Steam controls eligibility and processing. Before purchasing, open the current Steam refund rules, confirm how preorder and test playtime affect the account, and preserve the transaction record. The safest decision is one you can accept even if a refund request is denied.

Standard is the gameplay purchase

The $39.99 US Standard package contains WARDOGS and the guaranteed Beta access described by the current announcement. Steam identifies a Windows PC game built around up to 100 players, three teams, a randomized Control Zone, persistent cash, custom loadouts, vehicles, logistics, support play, proximity voice, construction, and destruction.

Choose Standard when the answer to either of these questions is yes:

  • You want the game and Beta access at the lower current US price.
  • You do not assign $10 of personal value to the exact Supporter Pack cosmetics.

No current official listing assigns extra weapons, vehicles, maps, starting cash, progression speed, server priority, or combat power to Supporter Edition. The three “starter weapon” items are camos for named weapons, not three paid weapon unlocks. If a future store page changes the offer, the live cart—not this snapshot—controls the purchase.

Supporter Edition is a cosmetic support choice

The $49.99 US Supporter Edition package combines the base game with Steam AppID 4809960, the WARDOGS Supporter Pack. The official listing names:

  • Valkyra A-91, Lonestar Bushmaster M17S, and Manticore KH-2002 weapon camos;
  • a Littlebird “Taxi” helicopter camo;
  • a Supporter icon on the scoreboard, which the listing says can be hidden;
  • a grenade bobblehead and a helmet bobblehead.

The three advertised starter-weapon bonuses are faction camos. The listing does not describe paid stat advantages or exclusive weapon access. Original 1920×1080 Steam JPEG.

Buy this edition only if those items and direct support for development are worth the extra amount in your region. Do not buy it to avoid a grind or gain an objective advantage; neither benefit is listed. If only one or two cosmetics appeal, there is no separately verified à-la-carte price in the captured store data, so compare the full package difference rather than inventing per-item value.

Read the monetization promise within its time boundary

BULKHEAD says the Supporter Pack is the sole monetization exception during Early Access. The current official text also says in-game cash and Gold Bars must be earned through play, and ordinary camos will not be sold directly. That distinguishes the persistent in-game economy from the real-money purchase: paying $49.99 does not buy a larger battlefield bank.

The promise is specifically framed around Early Access. The studio’s public material leaves post-1.0 operating costs and future plans open rather than defining a permanent commercial model. Use the statement to evaluate the September Early Access period, not to claim there can never be later paid content.

The Steam Early Access description also says the game is intended to be cheaper during Early Access and priced higher at full release. It does not publish the 1.0 price or an exact 1.0 date. Buying now locks in the current license, but “it will cost more later” is not a reason to purchase a build you do not want to play.

Check the PC requirements that can invalidate either edition

Both packages are currently Windows PC products. No console version or console price is confirmed on the captured official pages, and the developer FAQ describes controller support as limited in the current version. Steam also discloses Easy Anti-Cheat with kernel-level access. Players who avoid kernel-level anti-cheat, require full controller operation, or need a native macOS or Linux listing should wait for an official compatibility change rather than assuming one.

The live US appdetails snapshot gives both tiers 16 GB RAM, broadband internet, and 50 GB of available storage:

Target CPU GPU OS and performance note
Minimum Intel Core i5-8600 or AMD Ryzen 5 3500 Nvidia GTX 1660 or Radeon RX 590 Windows 10; 1080p Low at 60 fps, upscaled
Recommended Intel Core i7-12700K or AMD Ryzen 7 5700X Nvidia RTX 3070 or Radeon RX 6700 XT Windows 11; 1440p Medium at 70+ fps native, or 4K Medium at 60+ fps upscaled

These are developer targets, not a guarantee for every 100-player match, map state, driver, background process, or network. The storage figure had already changed in public summaries, which is why the live store must be checked again before installation. If your system sits near minimum, the Beta is evidence about your own machine; a trailer is not.

Use the Beta to answer six Early Access questions

A preorder decision should produce evidence before September 10. During the August test, record:

  1. Access: whether the Beta entitlement appears on the correct Steam account and when preload or installation becomes available.
  2. Performance: frame rate, frame pacing, server latency, crashes, and the settings needed during a populated fight.
  3. Controls: whether keyboard and mouse, flight controls, and any required controller workflow fit your setup.
  4. Economy fit: whether purchasing each life and carrying cash between matches feels motivating rather than restrictive.
  5. Role fit: whether combat, medical, transport, logistics, building, or vehicle play provides a job you want to repeat.
  6. Content fit: whether the available maps, objective variations, weapons, vehicles, and progression justify entering a changing Early Access build.

Keep the result separate from launch predictions. The Beta can prove what ran on your system and account that weekend; it cannot guarantee September server load, a future balance patch, a final 1.0 feature, or the announced development timeline.

Run a live-cart check instead of trusting a static price

  1. Confirm the product is WARDOGS, Steam AppID 1867240, from BULKHEAD and Team17.
  2. Read the release date and Closed Beta announcement again; do not rely on an old “2026” placeholder.
  3. Compare Standard and Supporter Edition in the same regional currency with tax included.
  4. Verify that the cart names the base game and, if chosen, WARDOGS – Supporter Pack AppID 4809960.
  5. For Supporter Edition, match all seven listed cosmetic/supporter items and reject any inferred gameplay advantage.
  6. Check Windows support, controller limitations, Easy Anti-Cheat disclosure, 50 GB storage, and the live CPU/GPU target.
  7. Read Steam’s current preorder, refund, and Family Sharing terms for your account and region.
  8. Save the price, package contents, Beta promise, and receipt before closing checkout.

If Standard passes those checks, it is the direct way to buy the game. If the cosmetics themselves pass the extra-$10 test, choose Supporter Edition. If Beta certainty, current content, hardware fit, anti-cheat, controls, or refund risk fails, waiting is a complete decision—not a missed build advantage.

For play rather than purchase, the separate WARDOGS beginner guide turns the official Control Zone, cash, flexible-role, transport, and FOB rules into a first-session decision loop without claiming a pre-Beta weapon tier list.

Live US pricing, package IDs, release date, Early Access disclosures, platform, anti-cheat, requirements, and the two untouched official JPEGs were checked against WARDOGS on Steam (AppID 1867240) and the Supporter Pack (AppID 4809960). The August 21–23 Closed Beta, September 10 Early Access launch, guaranteed preorder access, random Steam Playtest allocation, pack contents, and Early Access monetization position come from the official Steam preorder announcement. Gameplay scope and developer identity were cross-checked with Team17 and BULKHEAD. Supplied price and gameplay pages were retained as dated audit references; current official storefront data controlled every purchase claim.
