Treasure Cars are nine permanent abandoned vehicles, not the weekly Festival Playlist Treasure Hunts. Each main region holds one car, and the useful clue is a photograph rather than a purple search circle. If a route guide keeps sending you toward a seasonal chest, back out and open Cars > Treasure Cars instead.
This route was checked on August 17, 2026 against the released PC/Steam and Xbox game, with the Italian Exotics (Series 3) update as the latest official release-note boundary found during research. The locations are stable world discoveries, but the game can delay a clue or icon until its exploration state has registered. Finish the Horizon Invitational and earn the first Wristband before troubleshooting a missing prompt.
Use the clue system before searching the scenery
Drive into the correct part of a region until the Treasure Car message appears. That notification unlocks the photograph and gives you enough context to narrow the search. Open the Treasure Cars panel to confirm which postcard is active, then return to the world. Near the target, use Drone Mode: it covers a car park, forest, or hillside faster than crawling through it, and approaching the vehicle adds a usable map icon.
The nine cars do not form a progression chain. You can collect them in any order, so the table is a cleanup ledger rather than a required itinerary.

| Nangan | 2005 Ford GT | Eastern coastal dirt trail above Tokyo Bay |
| Ohtani | 1985 Mazda RX-7 GSL-SE | Radio-tower cluster on the Shimanoyama border |
| Shimanoyama | 1987 Porsche 959 | Narai-Juku convenience store east of the circuit |
| Hokubu | 1981 BMW M1 | Northern rice fields beneath a railway bridge |
| Sotoyama | 1974 Lancia Stratos HF Stradale | Building beside the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route |

Clear the city and southern coast first
1991 Nissan Figaro — Tokyo City
Go to Tokyo’s southern shoreline and identify the two bridges connecting the city to the nearby island. The Figaro sits in a waterfront car park roughly midway between those crossings. Use the western bridge and Rainbow Bridge view to orient yourself; do not search the multilayered central streets. If the city hides the lot behind buildings on the map, launch the drone from the coast and sweep east-west rather than following every road.
The success signal is the Treasure Car icon appearing as you close on the parked car. If the photograph is available but the icon is not, stay on the waterfront level—Tokyo’s elevated roads can put the player close in two dimensions while still separated vertically.
1969 Dodge Charger R/T — Minamino
The golf course is not named prominently on the world map. Find the large settlement in northern Minamino, trace the main road south, and look for fairway-shaped open ground. The clubhouse is next to the Airfield Trail dirt event and south of Naruo Cross-Country Circuit. Search behind the clubhouse buildings rather than driving laps around the fairways.
If the golf course still blends into the fields, zoom in until individual holes and paths become visible. Drone Mode is especially effective here because the objective occupies a developed yard, not the middle of the course.
2005 Ford GT — Nangan
Move to Nangan’s eastern tip and follow the coastline overlooking Tokyo City. A narrow dirt trail leaves the paved road and runs through woodland toward a small improvised viewpoint car park. At the fork in the trail, keep right. The Ford GT is above the shore, so a beach approach is possible but makes the car harder to see and leaves an embankment to climb.
When the coast feels endless, stop searching by distance and check your geometry: you need the easternmost coastal road, a thinner trail between that road and the water, and an overlook facing the bay. Launch the drone from the fork and mark the car before committing to the final path.
Cross the central highlands by visible structures
1985 Mazda RX-7 GSL-SE — Ohtani
Head west of the Horizon Festival Site toward Ohtani’s border with Shimanoyama. Several radio towers occupy the area, but the correct cluster mixes tall red-and-white masts with smaller grey structures. Look for a grey tower near a red mast, wooden pallets, and a roadside shop or restaurant. The RX-7 is tucked between the structures.
A common failed search follows every radio tower deeper into Ohtani. Reset to the western mountain edge and use the large wooden building plus the differently colored tower as the pair of confirming landmarks.
1987 Porsche 959 — Shimanoyama
Find Narai-Juku in northern Shimanoyama, then use the Narai-Juku Circuit as your western reference. Drive east through the settlement to the convenience store beside a broad car park and greenhouses. Its yellow 365 コンビニ sign is the visual confirmation; the Porsche is parked to the left of the entrance.
This is a building search, not a wilderness search. If the postcard has not triggered, loop the roads around Narai-Juku once. If it has triggered, ignore the surrounding hills and inspect the commercial frontage on the settlement’s eastern side.
1981 BMW M1 — Hokubu
Travel to the most northerly rice fields in Hokubu, between the Hokubu Ascent street race and the Cedar Grove drift zone. Follow the rail line rather than the roads. Three field groups can look plausible; focus on the northern group and the bridge beside the field on the right. The M1 is beneath that railway span.
Do not fly the drone into a rail tunnel: the game ends the drone session and returns control to the car. Start outside the tunnel, track the elevated line across open fields, and inspect only the bridge supports.

Finish the alpine and eastern forest targets
1974 Lancia Stratos HF Stradale — Sotoyama
Use the smaller mountain road between the ski settlement and the Hakusan Mountain Lodge player home. From that house, drive west through the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route Speed Zone. Continue west until a building and speed sign appear on the right. The Stratos waits beside that building, near a ski route descending the slope.
The largest snowy peak is a distraction. The clue points to developed roadside space on the lower route. If visibility is poor, keep the road and speed-zone marker in frame instead of cutting directly across snow.
1995 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution III GSR — Takashiro
Go to far western Takashiro and locate the forest road that winds beside a small river. The Temple Run-Up Speed Zone and Waterfall Trail Festival event bracket the correct area. Follow the river uphill toward its source; the Lancer sits north of the bends, in front of the waterfall.
If you reach a temple without seeing the water, return to the winding road and trace the stream, not the road signs. The target is at the end of a short dirt approach, so a road-only route can pass below it.
1985 Nissan Safari Turbo — Ito
Target the forested mountain at Ito’s northern tip, near the Wind Farm. From the beach on its northwestern side, take the climbing path back into the trees. Where that path rejoins the main road, turn sharply left and follow the S-bend. The Safari is parked at the base of a turbine on the inside of the curve, beside roadside barriers and boxes.
There are multiple turbines, so searching every tower from the lowlands wastes time. Confirm the northern mountain, the west-side ascent, and the S-shaped road before checking turbine bases.
Resolve missing cars without repeating the whole map
- Check the correct menu. A regional Festival Playlist Treasure Hunt and a permanent Treasure Car are separate activities.
- Read the postcard again. The active photograph tells you whether the target is a store, bridge, turbine, waterfall, or car park.
- Trigger the region state. Drive on a nearby mapped road until the notification appears; fast-travelling directly onto rough terrain can skip the approach that reveals the clue.
- Use the drone after the clue. Marking the vehicle converts an environmental search into a normal waypoint drive.
- Verify the garage. After the collect prompt, open the Treasure Cars panel and confirm that the slot changed state before leaving the region.
Finding all nine awards the Treasure Hunter achievement. Because this set is independent of the Discover Japan stamp-gated Barn Finds, a missing tenth vehicle means you are looking at the wrong collection rather than an undiscovered Treasure Car.
