Act 2 is not a line through the desert. The Ardura Caravan lets you steer among branches, and the efficient question is not “which zone is next?” but “which objective can I finish without creating another half-complete chain?” This walkthrough groups the act into the Trial unlock, the two Ancient Vows relics, the Titan objective, and the final Deshar-to-Dreadnought run.
The sequence reflects the Early Access campaign after the 0.5 campaign rework and patch 0.5.4f. In particular, current Act 2 ends on the Dreadnought route without the older extra Dreadnought Vanguard area. If an older walkthrough sends you through that removed second section, follow the live world map instead.
First stabilize the caravan
Cross the Vastiri Outskirts and defeat Rathbreaker to gain access to the Ardura Caravan. The arena punishes tunnel vision: Rathbreaker calls in attackers while enemies above the cliff can add ranged pressure. Clear active adds before committing to a long damage cycle, and keep the boss away from the cliff edge when possible so incoming projectiles remain visible.
On the caravan, inspect the Desert Map and speak to the available NPCs. The map is your branch selector. A destination that remains marked usually means a quest step, relic, or reward is unresolved; moving the caravan does not erase previous waypoints.
Open the Trial of the Sekhemas route early
Take the Mawdun branch, pass through the quarry, and enter Mawdun Mine. Free Risu while progressing and defeat Rudja, the Dread Engineer. Fire resistance, a Ruby Charm, and attacks that allow quick repositioning help against her mixture of close and ranged fire pressure.
When the Halani Gates route is blocked, use the Traitor’s Passage. Defeat Balbala, the Traitor, and take the Djinn Barya. That item opens the Trial of the Sekhemas. The first Ascendancy attempt is optional for immediate story progression, but unlocking it now avoids wondering later why the trial is unavailable.
Balbala’s most dangerous failure state is losing track of her while poison or arena pressure accumulates. When she vanishes, stop attacking empty space and locate the objective or cue that brings her back. During direct exchanges, move out of clearly formed poison zones and reserve the dodge roll for her committed strike rather than spending it on ordinary movement.
The Trial itself uses Honour as a second failure meter. A character can have Life remaining and still lose when Honour reaches zero. Choose rooms based on the affliction/reward trade rather than the shortest-looking path, and value clean avoidance over face-tanking. If the build cannot clear without repeated Honour loss, continue the campaign, improve it, and return.
Make one relic loop, not two disconnected searches
Ancient Vows needs both the Sun Clan Relic and Kabala Clan Relic. They come from different branches but belong at one altar, so keep them together in the plan.
Bone Pits: Sun Clan Relic
Travel through the Mastodon Badlands to the Bone Pits. Finish the area objective and secure the Sun Clan Relic. Check the quest inventory before returning to the caravan. Leaving with only a boss kill and no relic turns the branch into an unnecessary repeat.
Keth and the Buried Shrines: Kabala Clan Relic and passive points
In Keth, find and defeat Kabala, Constrictor Queen for 2 Weapon Set Passive Skill Points. Continue through the Lost City to the Buried Shrines and obtain the Kabala Clan Relic. The optional Faridun War Cache can provide loot, but it is not a substitute for the relic or Kabala’s permanent point reward.
Valley of the Titans: lock in the Ancient Vows reward
Bring both relics to the altar near the Valley of the Titans waypoint. Placing them grants +1 Charm Slot and a choice between increased Charm Charges gained and increased Charm Effect Duration. This setting is reversible at the same altar, so choose for the flasks and charms the current character actually uses rather than treating the first selection as permanent.
Charge gain is the practical default when charms fail to refill during ordinary clearing. Duration is more attractive when a charm activates reliably but expires before the dangerous pattern ends. The extra slot is awarded by completing the altar interaction; verify it in the equipment interface.
The Titan branch: protect the arena before fighting the boss
Follow the Titan objective through the Lost City route toward the Titan Grotto. Azarian, the Forsaken Son, is the key positioning test. Pots around the arena can leave burning ground when broken. Fight away from intact corners, point dangerous attacks toward already-cleared space, and avoid rolling through multiple pots just to escape one swing. A Ruby ring or other fire resistance is a useful preparation, not a license to stand in the floor hazard.
Continue to Zalmarath, the Colossus. Read the large arm and body commitments before attacking; the size of the model can hide the actual safe edge of a strike. Finish the branch, take the Flame Ruby, and return the act objective to the caravan. If the desert horn interaction does not advance, verify the quest item and NPC hand-in rather than reclearing the Grotto.
Do the Deshar rewards immediately before the final march
Deshar contains two permanent checkpoints that are easy to rationalize as “later” and then forget:
- Find the Fallen Dekhara, take the final letter, and complete Tradition’s Toll for 2 Weapon Set Passive Skill Points.
- Interact with the Sisters of Garukhan in the Spires of Deshar for +10% Lightning Resistance.
Open the act map after both interactions. A completed reward should be reflected by its icon and by the character sheet or passive-point count. The resistance matters against Jamanra; the passive points matter only after they are allocated to a valid weapon-set branch.

The Dreadnought is a commitment check
Once the caravan reaches the Dreadnought, finish shopping, gem changes, and resistance checks before advancing. The current campaign uses one Dreadnought area before the final encounter; references to a separate Dreadnought Vanguard belong to an earlier layout.
The narrow bridges turn ordinary packs into a positioning hazard. Pull enemies toward stable platform space instead of diving into a cluster at the far side of a connector. Fast melee enemies can surround a character whose escape roll is aimed along the bridge rather than into open ground.
Jamanra: solve the transition mechanics first
Phase one: Asala’s shelter is the objective
Jamanra’s first arena combines direct attacks, summoned pressure, lightning pylons, and a sandstorm transition. When Sekhema Asala creates protection from the storm, move into her shelter. This is not a damage race. Clear enemies that prevent reaching her, but do not remain outside for one more cast.
Lightning structures make unsafe lanes. Reposition before they fence off the shortest route to Asala. If deaths consistently occur during the storm, the problem is route recognition, not boss damage: identify Asala earlier and stop anchoring the fight on the opposite edge.
Phase two: separate sword commitments from arena hazards
Jamanra, the Abomination uses broad sword slams and cleaves while stationary pylons, shocked gates, tornadoes, and portals contest space. Track the boss and the nearest safe lane separately. Move out of a gate or tornado first; attack only after the sword finishes its commitment.
A useful rhythm is one short attack sequence after a missed slam, then a position check. Greedy channels and long combo finishers are most dangerous when a pylon has already reduced the available exit angle. Lightning resistance from the Sisters helps, but arena control remains the solution.
Failure diagnosis
- Storm deaths in phase one: move toward Asala as soon as the transition begins; do not wait for the screen to fill.
- Repeated shock or gate deaths: improve Lightning Resistance and stop fighting between two active structures.
- Sword one-shots: shorten attack commitments and dodge across the attack line only after the wind-up is clear.
- Flasks empty in phase two: the first phase is consuming too much recovery; clear adds efficiently and avoid trading into telegraphed hits.
What should be complete before Act 3
Use this as a final caravan readback:
- Djinn Barya obtained and Trial of the Sekhemas unlocked; Ascendancy attempt completed now or deliberately deferred.
- Kabala defeated for 2 Weapon Set Passive Skill Points.
- Both clan relics placed at the Valley altar.
- One additional Charm Slot visible, with charge gain or duration selected.
- Tradition’s Toll handed in for 2 Weapon Set Passive Skill Points.
- Sisters of Garukhan applied: +10% Lightning Resistance.
Act 3 changes from branch management to a long dependency chain involving the Machinarium cores, drained waterways, a time transition, and a missable Sacrificial Heart altar. Use the Act 3 Waterways-to-Doryani route next. For a cross-act audit, open the permanent campaign rewards checklist.
Evidence boundary
The act structure was compared with the developer’s campaign revisions for update 0.5.0; Early Access identity was confirmed on the game’s Steam product record. Current community route references supplied procedural-area checkpoints. Exact layouts and balance can move again before full release, so the current quest panel and world map take priority over a fixed compass route.
