Stackmon Achievement Roadmap: 39 Steam Tasks Without Wasting Progress

A developed Stackmon board with creatures, structures, packs, and mission counters

Stackmon has 39 Steam achievements as of August 19, 2026. The efficient route is not to finish the story and then inspect the list. Start the long counters immediately, make the one-time verbs deliberately, and use the seven medals to pace the collection work. The achievement wording matters: seeing is not capturing, creating a Foil is not catching one, and defeating rival scouts is not the same counter as defeating Stackmons.

This roadmap uses the current Steam achievement names and the launch build’s official feature set. It does not invent hidden recipe combinations, exact spawn odds, or a guaranteed order for goals whose description is blank. Stackmon launched on August 18, 2026, and the developer has said post-launch patches are planned, so verify the wording in your own Steam client if a patch changes a trigger.

Low-regret order

  1. Prove the six basic verbs: build, capture, battle, evolve, upgrade, and close a rift.
  2. Keep missions, recipe discoveries, pack purchases, money earned by selling cards, rival wins, and defeated Stackmons running in the background.
  3. Use each medal as a checkpoint for team, collection, and map cleanup.
  4. Separate “see,” “capture,” “all types,” and “all Stackas” before final cleanup.
  5. Leave max level, every Foil/Shiny chase, and all-rift cleanup until normal progression has reduced the remaining work.

Lock the wording before you chase the counters

The list contains several pairs that share a subject but not a trigger. Treat each pair as two checkboxes. If one unlocks and the other does not, that is usually evidence that you performed the wrong verb, not that Steam lost progress.

Similar-looking goals What must be different Useful proof to keep
Creature Spotter / Creature Collector Spotter asks you to see all Stackmons; Collector asks you to capture all of them. Compare the seen and captured states in Stackpedia instead of relying on the silhouette count alone.
Foil Chaser / Foil Creator One is awarded for capturing a Foil; the other is awarded for creating one. Record which action produced the card. A capture cannot prove the creation trigger.
Learning & Evolving / Evolving & Learning The first asks for one evolution; the second asks for 15. Confirm the first unlock, then count 14 further completed evolutions rather than assuming the early one was ignored.
Experienced Rival / Experienced Combatent The official descriptions count 40 defeated rivals and 100 defeated Stackmons separately. After any session built around one target, check only that target’s Steam progress or unlock state.
Soot Purifier / No more Rift Points Close one Soot Rift for the first task; close every Soot Rift for the second. Mark the location after the first closure and audit the map before declaring the all-rift task complete.
Legendary Tamer / Legendary Power The first Stacka is only the opening milestone; Legendary Power asks for all Stackas. Use the first capture to verify that Stackas are being registered, then track the remaining individual entries.

Use six first-actions as the save-file audit

Before optimizing anything, verify that the save can register the game’s basic systems. These tasks are small, but together they test the actions that later achievements expand:

  • Architect: build the first Structure.
  • New Companion: capture the first Stackmon.
  • First Battle: defeat the first Scout Rival.
  • Learning & Evolving: evolve one Stackmon.
  • Engineer: upgrade a Structure to +2.
  • Soot Purifier: close the first Soot Rift.

Do these through ordinary progression rather than forcing them all on the first board. The point is a clean readback: perform one named action, wait for the result screen or board state to settle, and check Steam. If Architect unlocks but Engineer does not after the structure visibly reads +2, capture the structure state before spending more materials. If First Battle unlocks but the rival counter later seems stuck, distinguish a Scout Rival fight from a normal Stackmon battle.

Foil Chaser and Shiny Tracker are also first-acquisition tasks, but the sources do not establish a fixed spawn rate or guaranteed early source. Accept them when normal exploration produces the correct variant; do not build the opening route around an unverified farming claim.

Start the six long counters while every action still has value

Six descriptions provide exact totals. None requires a special endgame state, so postponing them converts useful campaign actions into a separate grind.

Achievement Official target Route it through normal play Avoid this false assumption
Eureka! Discover 30 Recipes Test genuinely new combinations when spare inputs are available, then confirm that the recipe is recorded before repeating it. Thirty crafting attempts are not necessarily 30 discoveries.
Helping Gaia Complete 20 Missions Take mission progress that overlaps travel, capture, combat, or resource work. A dialogue or mission start is not a completed mission.
Experienced Rival Defeat 40 rivals Accept rival fights along medal and exploration routes instead of skipping them for later. Wild or ordinary Stackmon defeats may feed the other combat counter, not this one.
Compulsive Buyer Buy 100 Booster Packs Buy packs steadily when the purchase does not block a needed structure or upgrade. Opening or finding a pack does not prove that it was bought.
Rich Scout Earn 500 Stack-Money by selling cards Sell genuine duplicates and surplus cards; keep unique collection and type coverage. Holding 500 currency is not the wording. The money must come from sales.
Experienced Combatent Defeat 100 Stackmons Let medal preparation, rivals, rifts, and collection routes provide most of the battles. The misspelling is in the official title; it does not change the separate creature-defeat trigger.

Use a tiny session log only where the UI or Steam client does not expose a live counter. A line such as packs bought before session / after session is enough. Do not maintain a 39-column spreadsheet when the game already exposes a reliable collection page.

Let the seven medals pace the campaign

The medal achievements are Plant Medal, Rock Medal, Fire Medal, Water Medal, Aether Medal, Thunder Medal, and Soot Medal. They are better treated as progression gates than as seven isolated cleanup tasks. Before each leader challenge:

  1. Inspect the opposing type and the abilities actually visible in the current client.
  2. Bring a team whose jobs are clear: one card that can stay alive and one that contributes damage, control, or recovery.
  3. Resolve empty equipment slots and replenish consumables before triggering the automatic battle.
  4. After victory, wait for the dialogue, reward card, and mission state to finish before leaving the area.
  5. Check the medal card and Steam unlock. If only one appears, save evidence of the completed challenge before retrying anything.

Leader preparation is an achievement checkpoint: current creature roles, equipment, affinities, and recovery matter more than a permanent launch-week tier list. Screenshot: Riftpoint Entertainment / Alibi Games.

The Plant challenge has enough direct visual evidence for a separate route and readiness guide. Use the Stackmon Plant Leader guide for Sylvan, Flowf, the automatic battle read, and the Plant Medal reward check. This roadmap keeps the other six medals at the verified planning level because the available material does not support equivalent boss-by-boss routes.

Build collection coverage in three passes

Stackmon’s store page advertises more than 100 creatures across seven biomes. That scale makes random late cleanup inefficient, but it does not justify an invented spawn table. Use three evidence-based passes.

Pass 1: encounter and classify

Whenever a new entry appears, check whether Stackpedia marks it as seen, captured, or both. Creature Spotter cares about the complete seen set. This pass can advance through encounters even when a capture is not immediately practical.

Pass 2: own one of every ordinary entry

Creature Collector needs the captured set. Revisit only entries still missing the ownership state. Preserve one representative for each type while doing this, because the seven Chaser achievements ask for all Water, Plant, Fire, Rock, Thunder, Aether, and Neutral Stackmons. The wording is “capture all” of each type; merely battling the final missing type member is not enough.

Pass 3: separate legendary and variant work

Legendary Power is the all-Stacka task. Foil Chaser, Shiny Tracker, and Foil Creator belong in the variant lane. Do not use a Foil or Shiny checklist as a substitute for the base captured set unless the current Stackpedia explicitly credits that variant to the missing entry. The supplied references do not establish whether every variant is required for Creature Collector, so the safe check is the in-client completion state, not a community percentage.

Pair creation and upgrade tasks with cards worth keeping

Several achievements consume resources or long-term attention but do not specify which target to use:

  • Life Creator: breed the first Stackmon.
  • Evolving & Learning: complete 15 Stackmon evolutions.
  • Forger: upgrade one equipment card to +3.
  • No Pain no Gain: reach maximum level with a Stackmon.
  • Foil Creator: create the first Foil.

Put the expensive work on cards that still solve a campaign job. A durable team member is a safer max-level target than an untested duplicate. Upgrade equipment that is actually equipped, not the first expendable item that happens to accept materials. For the 15 evolutions, count completed evolution events; levels gained without an evolution should not be added. For breeding and Foil creation, wait until the required system is visibly available and follow its current UI, because the checked sources do not prove an exact unlock day or launch recipe.

Treat the blank and all-map tasks as state audits

Gaia’s Hero currently has no public description on Steam. That means its title is not enough to justify a route, prerequisite, or story spoiler. Progress the campaign normally and treat the unlock as a confirmation event. If it remains locked after the visible story resolution, capture the quest and map state before reporting a bug; do not perform a guessed ritual from an unverified list.

No more Rift Points asks for all Soot Rifts, while Soot Purifier confirms only the first. After the first closure proves the mechanic works, mark each cleared rift by location. At endgame, audit the whole map and any still-obscured biome rather than repeatedly closing the same convenient rift. The available sources do not publish a verified launch total, so this guide intentionally does not state one.

Run a verb-first audit when an unlock is missing

  1. Read the exact Steam description. Identify the verb: build, capture, defeat, discover, complete, buy, earn by selling, breed, create, see, or close.
  2. Check the in-game result. A reward animation is less useful than the durable board, Stackpedia, medal, quest, structure level, or map state left afterward.
  3. Separate the paired counter. A rival is not automatically a Stackmon counter entry; seen is not captured; captured Foil is not created Foil.
  4. Allow the transaction to settle. Finish dialogue and return to the board before reopening Steam. Do not repeat a costly action during an active result sequence.
  5. Verify the current client. The August 2026 launch boundary matters. Demo patch notes and removed demo recipes do not prove retail triggers.
  6. Preserve proof before retrying. Record the relevant collection count, medal, mission status, or upgraded card. That evidence makes a genuine trigger issue diagnosable.

All 39 tasks in one cleanup ledger

Lane Achievement names Final audit
First system actions (10) Architect; New Companion; First Battle; Learning & Evolving; Foil Chaser; Engineer; Shiny Tracker; Soot Purifier; Legendary Tamer; Life Creator Confirm the correct durable card, fight result, variant, upgrade, rift, or breeding result exists.
Exact counters (6) Eureka!; Helping Gaia; Experienced Rival; Compulsive Buyer; Rich Scout; Experienced Combatent 30 recipes; 20 missions; 40 rivals; 100 bought packs; 500 sale-earned Stack-Money; 100 Stackmons.
Medals (7) Plant Medal; Rock Medal; Fire Medal; Water Medal; Aether Medal; Thunder Medal; Soot Medal Verify each reward card and Steam unlock after the leader sequence settles.
Growth and creation (4) Evolving & Learning; Forger; No Pain no Gain; Foil Creator 15 evolutions; equipment at +3; one max-level Stackmon; one created Foil.
Global collection (4) Creature Spotter; Creature Collector; Legendary Power; No more Rift Points All seen; all captured; all Stackas captured; every Soot Rift closed.
Type collection (7) Water Chaser; Plant Chaser; Fire Chaser; Rock Chaser; Thunder Chaser; Aether Chaser; Neutral Chaser Every member of each named affinity shows as captured in the current client.
Unpublished condition (1) Gaia’s Hero No official description is shown; use story-state readback and avoid guessed prerequisites.

The lane totals add to 39. When the ledger reaches one remaining task, its verb and proof screen should tell you where to look. That is the useful finish line: not a blind checklist, but a save state in which every remaining action can be named and verified.
