VHOLUME does not use one universal bronze, silver, or gold pace. Every campaign result board sets its own three thresholds, and the shape of that gap tells you whether the next improvement is likely to come from basic route completion, a cleaner transfer, or a genuinely shorter line. The table below transcribes the release client shown on August 21, 2026; it does not substitute an old Demo2 target or a community record for the game’s own medal line.
The current campaign run contains 23 consecutive boards. Twenty-two show gold, silver, and bronze targets. The final credits board records a time but did not display a medal triplet in the verified run, so no target is invented for it. Live leaderboards and future patches can change around these values; check the right side of your current result screen before committing a long practice block.

Colons separate minutes and seconds; the final three digits are milliseconds. These are medal thresholds, not world-record times. The live list beside them can be much faster, and copying a top ghost before you can reliably finish the board is usually a route-learning mistake.
Use the bronze-to-gold gap as a planning clue, not a difficulty ranking
A small gap means a stop, bad landing, or late camera turn consumes a large share of the available improvement. admin allows 14.200 seconds between bronze and gold, showers00 allows 15.150, and apogee01 allows 16.000. On those boards, clean execution of a known line matters before speculative exploration.
A wider gap gives route choice more room to matter. mechanisms02 has 49.450 seconds between bronze and gold; mucuslife00 has 39.550; mucuslife01 has 39.349; and foire has 38.099. That does not prove those maps are objectively harder. It tells you that merely polishing identical inputs may leave a large structural loss untouched.
apogee00 has an unusual shape: bronze is 01:58.800 and silver is 01:50.800, only eight seconds apart, while gold drops to 01:27.400. Treat silver as a consistency target and gold as a second project that may require a different line rather than a slightly cleaner version of the bronze route.
Finish, segment, then shorten
- Bank one valid completion. A board time is the baseline. A perfect opening followed by a fall supplies no comparison.
- Name three sectors by stable landmarks. Use a lit doorway, turbine, grate, office sign, or major height change—not “the grey corner.”
- Record the largest visible stop. A climb from zero speed, a camera correction on a platform, and a wrong doorway are different problems.
- Repair only that sector. Use Restart after the board or restart the attempt when the selected experiment has already failed; do not add three new skips at once.
- Run the complete safe line again. If the fix lowers the time without destroying finish rate, keep it. If not, restore the safe landing.
- Load one relevant ghost. Choose a player near the target you are chasing. A near-gold ghost is usually more readable than a top time that uses several unfamiliar cuts.
The companion 23-level VHOLUME walkthrough gives the campaign order and route landmarks. Use it when the problem is “where does this board go?”; stay here when the problem is “where did these twenty seconds go?”
Protect momentum by fixing the transition that actually failed
| Failure signal | Likely loss | Next experiment |
|---|---|---|
| You reach the wall but drop nearly straight down | The approach was too square, too slow, or the jump-off came after momentum died | Enter along the wall, preserve forward input, and move the jump-off earlier by one repeatable cue |
| A slide ends before the opening | You started from low speed or steered across the slope | Begin on the preceding straight and keep the camera aligned through the gap |
| You land safely but need a full camera turn | The previous takeoff aimed at the platform rather than the platform’s exit | Choose a landing edge that already faces the next surface |
| A direct leap works rarely | The skip is faster only when its failure cost is ignored | Compare ten attempts with the intermediate platform; keep the line with the better completed average |
| The route is clean but still far from gold | A whole sector or shortcut is missing | Use a ghost to compare path choice, not just animation timing |
| Inputs feel different between attempts | Bindings, frame pacing, or camera sensitivity may be unstable | Verify the current Settings screen and repeat one short sector before changing the route |
Different board families punish different habits
The conapt boards reward continuity. Their corridors and exterior cuts make a stop expensive because another wall or narrow opening usually follows immediately. Secure a wall exit and slide entry before hunting a large skip.
Sewers and showers reward alignment. Tiled passages, grates, circular openings, and chutes make the route readable, but a diagonal entry places the next wall outside your useful camera arc. A slower centered entry can beat a faster crooked one across the full sector.
Mechanisms and windfarm reward camera commitment. Frames, turbines, and tall machinery can block the view after takeoff. Decide the landing before the object fills the screen. If you are still searching in the air, the route decision happened too late.
Foire, mucuslife, and openoffice01 reward map memory. These longer city routes contain many plausible surfaces. Losing five seconds to a wrong opening is not solved by pressing slide sooner. Give every sector an entry landmark and an exit landmark, then compare ghosts only within that pair.
Apogee separates completion from optimization. The two boards arrive near the end, when basic movement should already work. If the bronze line is stable, look for route compression; if it is not, late-game status does not make a low-percentage skip safer.
The result screen contains the practice tools
The release board explicitly says that clicking a player loads a ghost and hovering reveals stats. It also exposes Friends and Top filters, Weekly and Daily views, plus Share / Import. Use them deliberately:
- Friends is useful when you know which route convention the runner used.
- Top reveals the ceiling but may show a line that is unreadable at first.
- Weekly/Daily can reduce the chance of studying a time from an older route environment, but they do not prove identical settings.
- Share / Import preserves a specific run for comparison; label it with the board and client date in your own notes.
Watch a ghost for one sector without running, then shadow it once, then hide it and reproduce the idea. If you can follow only while the ghost is visible, you copied motion rather than learned the landmark.
Medal achievements have public descriptions; four secret triggers do not
Steam’s current achievement page connects the medal ladder to explicit goals:
- Just in time: beat the bronze time on any level.
- A moment behind: beat the silver time on any level.
- A fleeting second: beat the gold time on any level.
- Never late: beat the bronze time on every main level.
- Model Citizen: beat the silver time on every main level.
- The way ahead: beat the gold time on every main level.
- Only the wind: finish every main level.
The same page publicly describes Familiar Face (talk to someone), Who’s left? (talk to everyone), and Case closed (reach terminal velocity). Four entries—Distant memory, Quiet decay, The shape of absence, and Fishpaste—are shown without public descriptions. This guide does not turn their names into guessed collectible or ending requirements.
Because Steam says “every main level” while the captured credits board has no medal target, do not assume a fabricated credits time is required for the three all-medal achievements. Use the achievement’s live unlock state and the current result boards as the final check.
