Tiny Robots: Portal Escape Chapter 2 Walkthrough: Grandpa’s Friends

Tiny Robots Portal Escape robot exploring a forest planet

Chapter 2 keeps putting an obvious crisis in front of you—a crime scene, a shark, a prison van, a city under attack—while hiding the actual progression item in a side compartment. The reliable rule is to restore access first, rescue or repair the stranded robot second, and only then run the portal console. This guide covers Grandpa’s Friends from its police scene through City Siege.

Use the distressed robot as your progress meter

Do not judge a Chapter 2 scene by how many loose objects remain. Watch the robot or captive at the center of the event. A rescued character, repaired vehicle, opened cell, or cleared hazard is the scene-level checkpoint. Three batteries can be collected around that work, but they do not replace it.

The observed route moves through these distinct settings:

  1. A police crime scene with a house and sewer exit.
  2. The island and shark rescue.
  3. A cabin scene built around scattered robot parts.
  4. Breakout, with the armored transport and locked doors.
  5. A wagon or roadside captivity scene.
  6. A Western sheriff scene.
  7. An underwater machine.
  8. City Siege, the chapter finale.

Some mobile node labels are not readable in the source capture, so this guide identifies those checkpoints by their visible setting instead of inventing names.

Match your current rescue to the verified footage

This 23:08 video is the Chapter 2 capture linked by the supplied walkthrough index. Its title, public status, and App Unwrapper channel were independently verified. Use the wide scene views to identify your current rescue, then return to the relevant section below; do not copy a later scene’s symbol or keypad input.

Crime scene: carry the evidence into the lock

Circle the police car, house, and perimeter before opening the sewer route. The badge, blade or cutting tool, paper clue, and powered panels form separate parts of the chain. Use the cutting tool only where the material matches it, then inspect the newly opened compartment for a written clue. A number or symbol seen on evidence should be entered into the corresponding keypad; it is not a universal code to reuse later.

Power the wireless terminal after the physical cabinet has been opened. In its connection board, route one robot to a destination without sealing the approach required by the other. The central intersections are scarce, so reserve them before making a long outer move. A green success readback on the terminal confirms the digital step.

Return to the house and police equipment. Apply the recovered evidence or key to the matching lock and wait for the scene response. When the rescue state changes, inspect the sewer opening rather than continuing to tap the front door. The portal appears at the end of that newly accessible route.

Island rescue: solve the house before confronting the shark

The island separates food, a symbol lock, mail or identification, and the boat. Give the banana to the character that visibly reacts to food; the exchange exposes a useful item rather than directly removing the shark. Search the house exterior for a wheel-style symbol clue, record its orientation, and reproduce it on the matching mechanism. Reversing the order after rotating the planet is a common dead end.

Use the card, key, or mail item on the container that shares its visual mark. Then repair the boat or shoreline machine with the released component. The shark is the final obstruction, not the first puzzle. Trigger the repaired device and watch for the water state to change before moving the rescued robot. If the boat remains inert, one house-side control is still incomplete.

Take the portal only after the stranded character is safe. If a battery remains, sweep the opened house and mailbox again; the animation can expose a small pickup behind the lid.

Scattered parts: rebuild the robot from the outside inward

The cabin scene presents an ATV or utility vehicle, a toolbox, a detached hand, a pond-side machine, and a computer. Open the obvious toolbox first, but do not assume every piece inside belongs to the vehicle. Match each connector: a hand belongs on the damaged robot, while a wrench or mechanical part belongs on the vehicle or water apparatus.

Restore the wall terminal and solve its route board before relying on the cabin computer. The terminal is the power or access step. Once it succeeds, use the computer’s displayed shapes as a local clue and apply them to the device with the same input style. The clue is safest when copied directly from the active screen; camera rotation can invert a remembered pattern.

Repair the robot and operate the pond or grass-side machine. One of those responses exposes a lever fragment needed for the final control. If the robot is whole but the portal remains absent, check the utility vehicle and the exterior socket rather than disassembling the robot again.

Breakout: treat the armored van as a power diagram

In Breakout, rotate around the armored transport and identify the cable path, card readers, two doors, and roof equipment. The doors are sequential. A card that opens the first reader usually reveals the item or power route needed for the second; it is not evidence that both doors should already respond.

Restore the colored cables by matching their endpoints, then power the rooftop unit. Complete the board mini-game it opens and wait for the unit’s confirmation indicator. Only then return to the transport doors and use the remaining ID or tool. If the second reader stays dark, the roof board has not registered even if its pieces look close.

The weapon or force tool released late in the scene belongs to the final physical obstruction. Use it after the captive route is open, not on the armored shell at the beginning. Rescue confirmation and the portal effect are separate; inspect the far side of the van once the captive moves.

Wagon stop: free the captive after mixing the scene’s resources

The dark wagon scene contains cages, chests, bottles or potions, and a connection terminal. Open the reachable chest and compare the item with the locks and mixing apparatus. If a bottle cannot be used directly, it is probably an ingredient or power source rather than the final key.

Run the wireless mini-game when the terminal is powered. Keep the two routes independent and solve the more constrained destination first. Then use the resulting access on the wagon mechanism. The cage opening is the primary checkpoint; a portal that appears while the captive remains in place means you have not completed the rescue interaction.

Before leaving, rotate behind the wagon and under the opened chest lids. This compact scene hides optional pickups close to its silhouettes.

Sheriff scene: open the safe before spending the force tool

The Western setting includes a sheriff structure, a red safe or locked container, ropes or restraints, and a more destructive tool. Search for the small key and dial clue first. The safe supplies a controlled item; the destructive tool handles the obstruction that has no ordinary lock.

When a symbol or position clue appears, copy its direction as seen from the input panel. Do not transpose it from the opposite camera angle. Open the safe, use its contents on the sheriff-side mechanism, and reserve explosives or the heavy tool for the final barrier. An explosion before the lock chain is ready can look decisive without changing the captive state.

After the sheriff robot is released, recheck the building face for a newly active portal control. The scene is finished only when the character response and portal are both visible.

Underwater machine: restore the manipulators before the counter

The underwater checkpoint shows a large vessel or airship, articulated grabbers, a green device, a numeric display, and a puzzle terminal. Attach the recovered parts to the mechanical arms first. Their motion exposes or transports the objects needed by the counter; entering a number before the arms work is premature.

Power the green device and solve the associated mini-game. Return to the wide view and observe which arm or hatch has changed. Use that change to supply the counter mechanism, then operate it. Treat any displayed number as scene feedback, not a reusable code for another node.

If the portal remains closed, compare both manipulators. One moving arm can hide that its partner is still missing a joint or control. The end state is symmetric enough to make that mismatch visible.

City Siege: extinguish, arm, and fire in that order

The chapter finale spreads its chain across a hydrant or water system, burning area, street barriers, a cannon, and a concealed hatch. Restore the water path and extinguish the fire before trying to use the cannon. The cleared area exposes a tool or access point needed to arm it.

Move the barriers only after their control is powered. If the cannon can rotate but cannot fire, you have restored aim without supplying ammunition or ignition. Search the newly opened street area and trapdoor for the missing part. Complete the mini-game attached to the city machinery, return to the cannon, and verify that the target is now exposed.

Fire only when the barrel, target, and power indicator agree. The city boss response should change immediately. If it does not, inspect the trapdoor chain rather than repeating the shot. Defeating the siege encounter and returning to the chapter map completes Grandpa’s Friends.

Diagnose the wrong kind of stuck state

  • Character still trapped: you solved access but have not used the final restraint tool.
  • Machine moves but portal is absent: look for its second power, ammunition, or output step.
  • Keypad rejects a remembered value: reread the clue in this scene; codes and symbol sequences are local.
  • Only two stars awarded: replay for the missing battery after preserving chapter progress.
  • Object is visually hidden: rotate beneath opened doors, wagon lids, vehicles, and the base of large machines.

Evidence boundary

The chapter title and video association were checked against the supplied walkthrough index. The game’s current Steam identity and the official Grandpa’s Friends chapter achievement were checked on the official Steam listing. The route describes visible dependencies from the February 2025 mobile capture and avoids claiming unreadable node labels or permanent cross-platform controls.

Return to Chapter 1 for the opening systems, or continue to Chapter 3: Adventure Time once City Siege is cleared.
