The five secret sleds do not form one treasure hunt. Two are world objects, two are activity counters, and the Plane is a dependency chain that starts with a cape. If you search the mountain for all five, you will miss three. Route them by trigger type, use a flag before every remote interaction, and check the chest after each unlock.
The supported launch set is Croc, Ski Lift, Plane, Bench, and UFO. This guide uses Steam Community routes updated through May 17, 2026 and readable May Tpose guides, bounded by the current August 24 Early Access store record. The official listing confirms 20+ sleds but does not publish secret requirements. A live unlock notification and chest entry outrank any old count or landmark name.
If you also want the distance, lift, cape, and Yeti actions to count toward Steam, use the 37-achievement route before starting. It explains the normal-lobby readbacks that prevent a useful sled unlock from becoming a failed achievement grind.
Separate the five triggers before leaving the lodge
| Sled | Trigger | What proves completion | Main failure |
|---|---|---|---|
| Croc | Accumulate walking distance. | Unlock notification, then Croc in a chest. | Assuming a specific old threshold without a live counter. |
| Ski Lift | Ride the golden chair for three complete return trips. | Notification after the loop, then chest entry. | Leaving at the top or boarding an ordinary chair. |
| Plane | Wear the red cape and receive ten Yeti kicks. | Plane icon or notification, then chest entry. | Counting kicks before the cape is equipped. |
| Bench | Interact with the stone bench south/southwest of the lodge. | Bench Sled appears in a chest. | Searching for a three-target statue puzzle. |
| UFO | Interact with the crashed craft beyond the northern ridge. | UFO entry in a chest. | Reaching the right zone without a flag and being kicked away. |
That distinction also gives a low-friction order: let Croc progress naturally; start the Ski Lift loop while you are planning the mountain; claim Bench as a short southern detour; prepare the cape and Yeti checkpoint; then use the same high-mountain travel knowledge for the UFO.
Croc is a passive unlock with an evidence problem
Community references agree that Croc comes from walking, but they do not expose a stable, official threshold for the sled. One guide associates it with the separate Walking Game achievement at 100,000 meters; that association is not proof that both triggers use the same number. Do not turn it into a 100,000-meter promise.
Walk while solving statues, carrying fish, reaching the Bench, and setting up mountain flags. Check the chest after long travel sessions. If Croc remains locked, open the Stats screen, record distance walked, add a known segment in a normal lobby, and verify that the stat changes. A moving counter means continue naturally. A frozen counter means restart or change host before grinding.
If you used /speed, /buildlimit, or another server command, finish the suspected last distance in a fresh normal lobby. Several community guides warn that altered settings can mark a lobby as modded. The sled may still unlock there, but do not assume the Steam achievement and the secret item share the same tracking policy.
Ski Lift requires the chair to come back, not just reach the summit
Use the short lift behind the lodge so a failed test costs minutes rather than a cross-map journey. Wait for the golden chair, sit, and stay seated through three full return trips. A trip is not “bottom to top.” It is the chair leaving your boarding point, completing the circuit, and returning to that point.
- Stand where you can see each chair color before boarding.
- Enter the golden chair and start the count only when it passes the boarding support.
- Ignore the normal dismount opportunity at the summit.
- Add one loop each time the chair returns past the original support.
- Remain seated after loop three until the notification appears.
- Return to a cosmetics chest and require the Ski Lift Sled entry.
The same ride should produce Taking Your Time and Back Where I Started if those Steam rows are still locked. If the achievements appear but the sled does not, repeat on the golden chair rather than concluding that “any chair” is sufficient. If the sled appears without a notification, the chest readback is the useful proof.
Bench is the southern interaction, not a timed statue
Exit the lodge and move around to its rear. Find the slope with purple boost pads climbing toward a small orange or yellow tent. The stone bench sits on the hill in the southern to southwestern area near that tent cluster. It looks like the other carved unlock objects, but it does not require three snowball targets.
Approach the bench and use the interaction prompt. If no prompt appears, circle the object and aim at the seat rather than throwing snowballs. After claiming it, open a cosmetics chest and equip Bench Sled. It carries two players, so it is also a no-purchase setup for Just the Two of Us and a convenient way to confirm that the unlock persisted beyond the world popup.
A common wrong turn is following the purple pads all the way up the mountain. Treat the tent and bench as the goal, not the boost line. If the hill no longer shows the statue in a later build, return to the lodge, verify that it is not already owned, and compare the current map before extending the search.
Plane is cape first, Yeti second
The red cape is the gate. Community sources agree that a long jump unlocks it, but their shorthand differs: one describes ten seconds airborne, another 6,000 points in a single jump. The Steam achievement text supports the ten-second condition for Soarin Flyin; the exact cosmetic trigger is not official. Build a boosted ramp, stay airborne for ten seconds, then check the chest for the cape. If it is missing, follow the current unlock prompt instead of treating an old score as universal.
Once the cape is visible on your character:
- Ride toward a northern ridge and stop before the outer fog.
- Place a flag at a stable point just inside the playable area.
- Confirm the cape is still equipped after placing the flag.
- Walk into the fog until a dark border vignette signals the Yeti charge.
- Let the kick connect. Pause after launch and teleport to the lodge or your flag rather than waiting for the entire fall.
- Repeat one kick at a time, counting only clear impacts while the cape is worn.
- After the tenth supported kick, wait for the Plane icon and verify the chest.
If a client does not count kicks after an immediate teleport, allow one full landing and return normally. If the Yeti appears but cannot connect in somebody else’s lobby, host your own. Do not count merely seeing it, entering fog, being moved by lag, or getting kicked before the cape was equipped.
UFO is behind the highest northern route
The most repeatable UFO route starts at the highest ski lift. At the summit, orient toward the green race start near the chairlift and move left. Pass through or beside the pair of large rocks, continue down toward the next mountain, and use the view back toward the lift to confirm you crossed the ridge rather than circling the summit.
From the second rise, look for a pair of trees farther down the northern slope. The crashed UFO is half-buried behind and below those trees, outside the comfortable center of the map. Place a flag before the last descent. The Yeti zone can interrupt interaction, and a flag turns a failed approach into a ten-second retry.
- Approach from above so the half-buried shape stands out against the snow.
- Do not mount a fast sled for the final meters; overshooting sends you deeper into the boundary.
- As soon as the prompt appears, interact and wait for the unlock feedback.
- Teleport out before fighting the Yeti or trying to carry the physical object.
- Open a chest and equip UFO Sled. If it is absent, return to the flag and require the prompt again.
Descriptions such as “north,” “second ridge,” and “two trees” are useful only together. Two trees appear everywhere; the reliable chain is highest lift, green race, left past the rocks, second mountain, paired trees, then the downhill back side in the Yeti zone.
Use sled shape as a test, not a permanent tier list
After all five unlocks, choose by task. Bench is the clear two-person utility option. Plane’s rounded shape is favored by one May guide for jumps. UFO is described there as a balance between speed and handling. A separate money-farm test found sleds behave differently at very high out-of-bounds speed and favored Coffin for that specific run. None of those observations proves a permanent “best sled” across patches, riders, surfaces, and modes.
Test on one repeatable slope: same start flag, no passengers, no changed server settings, and three runs per sled. Record peak speed, whether the sled lands flat, and how much steering correction it needs. Add passengers only after the solo comparison. Multi-seat weight and control can change the result, so a sled that feels slow alone may be the right group ride.
Five owned entries are the finish state
A clean collection check shows Croc, Ski Lift, Plane, Bench, and UFO selectable in a cosmetics chest after a restart. World prompts and Steam achievements are secondary evidence: a lift achievement does not prove the secret chair condition, Don’t Wander Off does not prove ten cape-equipped kicks, and reaching the UFO hill does not prove the interaction saved.
Early Access boundary: the official store says the current build contains 20+ sleds and plans to expand existing systems. Future updates may add sleds or revise these triggers. Preserve the five-item launch branch, then extend only from a live chest entry, developer note, or independently readable current route.
