For the current documented Act 2 route, Doppia’s location is A5 on Map: Abandoned Mine. If A5 is rejected, finish Mine (Deep), submit the updated mine map, then complete the Stopping time and Survivors conversations before reopening Missing miners. The rest of the case separates the apparent waterfall escape from the route that leads to the true ending.

Open the mine with an inside point and an outside point
Discuss the rumors about Verita’s father, then explore the mine entrance. The first deduction connects one point inside the collapsed mine to one point outside it:
- Escape passage: Abandoned Mine map, B1.
- Connection to the outside: North Saint Agatha map, B2.
Once the game accepts both ends, the lake becomes relevant. Explore it, return through Shop Retro, then enter the deep mine. Submit Map: Abandoned Mine only after your exploration has updated it. Submitting the untouched map too early will not satisfy the objective.
Set Doppia to A5 after the survivor conversations
Do not try the coordinate as soon as you first reach Shop Retro. Explore Mine (Deep) and submit Map: Abandoned Mine after the exploration updates it. Return to the conversations and finish Stopping time and Survivors. These steps update the missing-miner deduction.
Open Missing miners and connect Doppia’s current location to A5 on Map: Abandoned Mine. Some older walkthroughs list A6, but the later English route lists A5. Choosing A5 after the map submission and both conversations should advance directly into the first RESTORY.
Build the first RESTORY as a movement chain:
- The miners went to the mine entrance to recover the hidden flares.
- The collapse trapped them in the abandoned mine.
- The apparent sole survivor is Barba Bucciferro.
- His apparent escape route is the waterfall.
- He later reaches Bucciferro Residence.
This reconstruction fits the available testimony, but it does not yet prove that Barba crossed the waterfall while the water was stopped.
Trace the boot from the mine entrance to Doppia
Discuss the truth behind the rumors with Doppia. In A catalyst for a skill, use the interview reference to Trisco’s boot as the miner’s belonging. Then complete Timeline: Boot in travel order:
| Field | Selection | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Starting point | Mine entrance | Anchors the item before the escape attempt. |
| Stopover | Abandoned Mine E1 | Places the boot inside the mine route. |
| Destination | The spot where Doppia picked up the boot | Connects the recovered item to the witness. |
For the surface escape explanation, choose the miners’ plan to stop only the waterwheel. Add the clue that the time-stop effect has a limited maximum range. Set Dolce’s initial location to C7, then discuss the waterfall. The Smell of the World should unlock during this escape sequence.
Take the Bucciferro Residence branch, then continue
Visiting Bucciferro Residence now unlocks the apparent-survivor ending. Record it if you want, then return to the branch point and continue the investigation. On patched clients, an Act Select branch shortcut should be available after you reach this point. Version 1.1.2 specifically fixed an afterstory that could play after the Act 2 false ending, so an older recording may show a different transition.
The contradiction is the condition of the wounds. Vero’s account says even the smallest droplets remained stationary. Pair that observation with the claimed waterfall escape. If the water was frozen in place, the apparent means of escape cannot explain the wound pattern and movement.
Assign every footprint before moving Dolce
The owner document requires all four footprints. Fill every slot so you never have to infer one identity from a blank field:
- Footprints A: Barba Bucciferro, using Beatrix’s recognition of the miner’s helmet.
- Footprints B: Daniel Doppia, from his interview.
- Footprints C: Marco Toresco, from the miners’ plan.
- Footprints D: Cesare Dolce, also from the plan.
The next Dark Side prompt returns to Dolce’s location. Challenge the C7 placement with Bucciferro Residence on the North Saint Agatha map. The footprints and travel record now establish a later destination that the first missing-miner map could not show.
Rewrite the survivor chain on pages 4 and 5
In the revised RESTORY, start near the page break where the survivor is identified. Replace the apparent survivor with Cesare Dolce, send him through the mine entrance, and set his later destination to the bank. Use the clue describing the red trail to complete the chain of events.
Do not leave Barba’s old waterfall chain elsewhere in the revised story. A partially replaced RESTORY can look coherent while still retaining two incompatible survivors. The finish signal is RETRO SOLVED followed by Immovable.
Diagnose the exact gate that is still closed
- A5 is rejected: do not switch to A6. Revisit Mine (Deep), submit the updated mine map, and finish both Stopping time and Survivors.
- RESTORY will not open after A5: reopen Missing miners and confirm that Doppia’s current-location field is linked to A5. The boot destination is a separate field used later.
- The boot timeline rejects the destination: use the location where Doppia found it, not Doppia’s current position.
- The Dark Side prompt is missing: take or reach the Bucciferro Residence branch first, then continue investigation.
- The final story still fails: replace the survivor, passage, and destination as one chain; do not change only the survivor’s name.
If your Act 2 access is incomplete, verify that the Act 1 Retro route ended in Destination. When the mine is solved, the Act 3 Lizaroot curse route starts a different kind of test: family-tree identity versus the apparent cause of death.
Evidence and version notes for the mine case
The retail route was checked against two readable walkthroughs and Parts 4-6 of the supplied Buffy the 3rd recording. Those videos clearly show Staffer Retro’s English mine UI, but they were captured on an earlier 1.1.x client, so current document labels and official patches take priority. The AppID, developer, release status, achievement count, and official screenshots come from Staffer Retro on Steam.
