Staffer Retro Act 3 Walkthrough: Lizaroot Curse True Ending

Staffer Retro character scene from the Lizaroot family investigation

Act 3 is solved by separating three identities that the initial story treats as one: the youngest daughter named by the curse, the missing Emilia you trace through the manor, and the woman connected to the staff after the Dark Side opens. Keep those roles separate, and the family tree becomes a sequence of tests instead of a wall of names.

Patch v1.1.4 changed the wording of an Act 3 clue. If a quoted line in an older guide differs from your screen, use the document and field named below. The next location or Retro field opening confirms the deduction.

Staffer Retro character scene from the Lizaroot family investigation

The curse’s youngest daughter

Discuss the other guest and the end of the curse, enter the manor’s hall, then discuss the curse. Explore Theresa’s room and discuss the brand. When the game asks for the relevant line, choose Theresa’s statement about being buried with the other cursed family members.

Return to the hall and open the curse task. Set its target to the youngest daughter on the Lizaroot family tree. Submit Diego’s interview, then choose the contradiction showing that Theresa is the youngest daughter but was adopted. This does not identify the first cursed person yet; it only proves that birth order alone cannot explain the family rule.

Where the necklace leads

Discuss the missing child and explore Vering’s recovery room. The necklace decoration timeline should form a physical path through the manor:

  1. First stopover: Diego’s room.
  2. Second stopover: Emilia’s room.
  3. Current location: the well in the family graveyard.

Explore the graveyard, discuss traces of mana, and use Theresa’s current sightline clue in Find Emilia. Choose square B2 on the map to open the house without a chimney. Patch v1.1.4 revised an Act 3 clue, so follow the highlighted subject in your current document if its sentence differs from an older guide.

At the house, discuss the demon. The first RESTORY should show the apparent chain: Lizaroot family to demon, demon to curse, curse to death, brand to death, and brand to Emilia. This is the chapter’s initial theory.

The confession branch and first cursed ancestor

The discussion option that admits a mistake leads to an incomplete ending. Take it if you want to record that branch, then continue the investigation. In the family tree, select the first Maria at the top—the one associated with wood—as the first cursed person. Use the Zelota legend’s ancestor who stole the walking stick as the reason for the curse.

Return to Vering’s recovery room and then the study. Select the Wood marker above that first Maria and discuss sharing information. The Wood marker supplies the material clue needed to interpret the legend.

The staff’s four record fields

Explore the house without a chimney again and fill the demon’s treasure file from the decoded parchment and legend:

Field Evidence Failure signal
Skill Body change The form field opens, but the object’s behavior remains unexplained.
Trigger Contact with the end of the staff Retro cannot later challenge the damaged trigger text.
Legend evidence The ancestor who stole the walking stick The object remains only a family rumor.
Form A walking stick / staff The manor floorplan cannot be used to locate it.

Explore the manor entrance and discuss the walking stick. On the manor floorplan, place the current location in the wall between Theresa’s and Emilia’s rooms. Use the decoded parchment’s staff side effect as the curse’s identity. The RESTORY-RETRO section around the page 3/4 break should now change the staff’s apparent consequence to death.

Before you leave Zelota

Explore Theresa’s room. Choosing to leave Zelota is the second incomplete ending. Continue instead and challenge the demon treasure’s trigger with the damaged section of the old parchment. The damage matters because it exposes why the earlier trigger description was too neat.

Go back to the study and reconstruct the two-year-old scene as a left-center-right arrangement:

  • Object left of the staff: Theresa from the family tree.
  • Staff position: the wall between the rooms.
  • Object right of the staff: Emilia from the family tree.

If the scene is rejected, check orientation from the document’s point of view rather than the room camera. Swapping Theresa and Emilia preserves the cast but destroys the deduction.

The graveyard contradiction and Dark Side

Challenge Emilia’s apparent location with the family graveyard on the floorplan. In the revised story near the next page break, change the brand’s result from death to eternal life, then connect the brand to Maria. Select Adopted when the identity choice appears and submit the Suspicious cube.

A successful solution shows RETRO SOLVED and unlocks the Brand achievement. Let There Be Staff should have unlocked when you established the hidden walking-stick staff. If Brand appears but the next chapter is not fully available, return through Act Select and verify that the Dark Side branch—not either incomplete ending—is marked solved.

Players arriving from the mine can review the Act 2 true-ending checks. Once Brand is solved, continue to the Act 4 Vano and Idel route; its late apartment gate depends on the first three true conclusions.
