Staffer Retro Act 4 Walkthrough: Find Vano and Idel

Staffer Retro investigator during the Act 4 search for Vano Retro

If Idel’s apartment never appears, the missing step may be outside Act 4. This late-game route assumes you reached the true conclusions in Acts 1, 2, and 3. Finishing the demo or leaving a branch incomplete can make your current deductions look correct while the apartment remains locked.

Staffer Retro investigator during the Act 4 search for Vano Retro

Vano’s route out of Shop Retro

Discuss Vano Retro with Vassanio. In Find Vano, use Footprints A from the Shop Retro trace map. Then inspect the bathroom and select the bathtub. The footprint proves that Vano left, while the bathtub establishes the domestic scene that points toward the workshop. Neither clue completes the timeline on its own.

Explore Edgar Crafting and discuss the multi-arm machine. Select the date printed at the top of the relevant workshop document: February 10, 1963. Discuss the buyer, then build Timeline: Hair with C1 as the stopover and A6 as the destination.

Talk to Idel about the foolish days, then submit the workshop manager interview and the mass-produced staff document. RESTORY should now be ready to show how an invention tore the family apart.

The production chain: product and victim

Fill the first RESTORY in causal order:

  1. Vano Retro discovers mass production.
  2. Mass production creates Fabric.
  3. The Fabric is sold to the Mafia.
  4. The Mafia wants Idel Lafarie, the maker.
  5. The contract connecting Idel and Vano Retro breaks the family.

Discuss mass-producing staff with Idel and select the rule for creating variants / time change. This rule is reused later, so do not replace it with a generic aggregation rule just because both describe Fabric.

Three Zelota coordinates and their clues

Act 4 asks for three coordinates, each supplied by a different witness. Keep the document containing the photograph open beside the map:

Target Map selection Next checkpoint
Manor Lizaroot family manor Explore the manor entrance and discuss mana release.
House B2 The house without a chimney becomes available.
Warehouse E4 The route advances toward the House of Consecration.

At the manor and chimneyless house, exhaust both the mana-release and photo-location topics. If E4 is unavailable, one of those discussions has not added the warehouse field; changing the coordinate before the field exists will not fix the gate.

The scrap of Fabric on two maps

Explore the House of Consecration, then build Timeline: Scrap of fabric as a four-stage route:

  1. Start at the Warehouse on the Saint Agatha map.
  2. Stop at Shop Retro.
  3. Continue to the demolished building on the Zelota map.
  4. End at the House of Consecration.

Return to the House of Consecration so the game records its updated state. In the accommodation-business task, use the workshop manager’s statement about the Mafia for the main-customer field and the House of Consecration for the operating site.

What Guest Room 2 reveals

Go back to the manor entrance and select Guest Room 2. Choose the modification / time-change creation rule. Explore the entrance hall, then Diego’s room. This detour reveals the hidden guest and unlocks Death of a Fairytale; skipping the room makes the later family scene harder to interpret and misses the achievement checkpoint.

Discuss five years earlier and mass-producing staff with Vano, then submit the Suspicious cube. In RESTORY-RETRO, replace Vano with Verita as the person who discovered mass production. That change credits Verita with the family’s key decision and leads to the apartment.

If Idel’s apartment stays locked

After the Verita reveal, you should be able to explore Idel’s apartment. There, revise the relationship so the contract connects Idel Lafarie to Verita Retro, then select Footprints B. RETRO SOLVED and Homebound confirm the true Act 4 ending. Beyond should unlock during the hidden Verita reveal.

If the apartment is absent, use this order of diagnosis:

  1. Open Act Select and confirm the true-ending achievements Destination, Immovable, and Brand.
  2. If Act 1 was completed only in the demo, replay the retail Act 1 Retro conclusion; a community report specifically identified this as the missing Act 4 gate.
  3. Confirm Diego’s room was explored and the Suspicious cube was submitted.
  4. Check that RESTORY-RETRO names Verita, not Vano, before waiting for a new exploration location.

The Act 3 true-ending guide lists the last prerequisite chain. Once Homebound is secure, proceed to the Act 5 hideout route.
