Sludgineers Achievement Roadmap: Plan All 25 Unlocks

Sludgineers multi-branch upgrade tree with a selected Vacuum Drone Battery node

Sludgineers has 25 public Steam achievements, but only six describe a one-level setup. Most should ride behind normal progression, cumulative collection, or late purchases. If every condition is chased as soon as it appears, low-energy stunts interrupt region progress and scarce power-ups are spent before a level can satisfy their target.

This roadmap uses the public names and descriptions visible on August 26, 2026. Launch-day global completion rates are not a stable difficulty ranking. When a description does not say whether progress is persistent, the current achievement popup and any counter shown by the live client are the only proof.

Bank the campaign proofs before scheduling cleanup

Four achievements define the main progression spine. They are useful checkpoints, not a hidden route map.

Satisfied Customer — Complete a job
This proves one job reached its live completion state. It does not prove that every reward marker or optional target was cleared.
Side Gig — Complete a quest
This proves a current quest resolved. It does not reveal the complete quest order or reward table.
Regional Expansion — Unlock a region
This proves a region unlock actually fired. It does not establish the name or order of every later region.
Pollution Solution — Complete the game
This proves the live ending condition was satisfied. It does not finish upgrades, resources, safes, drones, or refineries.

Follow the live objective until these appear naturally. Do not stop a new-region push to manufacture a low-energy pickup or save one special power-up. The Sludgineers beginner progression guide explains how to read the job–energy–barrel–refinery loop when one of these checkpoints stops moving.

Reserve a clean level state for six timed conditions

The words “single level,” “single charge,” “single magnet,” and a short time window change how a run must be prepared. Use a familiar level, reveal the required pickups or targets first, and avoid completing or leaving the job before the setup is ready.

Achievement Exact current target Setup Abort or readback signal
Close Call Pick up a battery with < 5% energy Leave one reachable battery on an already-open lane, finish essential progression first, then let the meter fall below—not equal to—five percent before collecting it If the route becomes unsafe or the meter cannot be read precisely, secure the job and retry; the pickup without a popup is not proof
Supercharged Take five battery pickups before leaving one level Count only pickups made after entering the current level and delay leaving until the fifth has been collected A fifth pickup with no popup means the assumed count, level boundary, or battery identity needs rechecking
Barrel Bonanza Produce twenty filled barrels during one level Choose a level whose current contamination and upgrades can visibly keep the barrel row moving; remain in that level until twenty are filled Do not count empty barrels, refinery output, or barrels from an earlier level
Turbo Time Keep turbo boost active continuously for ten seconds Enter turbo only when the current meter and route can sustain an uninterrupted ten-second line A stop, mode exit, or missing popup resets the proof; do not add separate conditions to the retest
Turbo Domination Remove at least half a level’s pollution on one turbo charge Start with at least half of the level still dirty, identify one continuous cluster, and spend the charge where travel between patches is minimal If the charge ends before the popup, change route or tool state rather than assuming partial progress carries over
Clean Streak Within five seconds, clean ten objects that the live UI classifies as bonus Group ten reachable targets, verify their current classification, then begin the attempt Ordinary pollution or an old Demo label cannot substitute for the live bonus-object feedback

Close Call is the fragile outlier. It deliberately spends the safety margin that Supercharged and the turbo conditions can use. Isolate it after the level is familiar; do not combine it with the run that must open a region or complete an expensive quest.

Make four power-up achievements controlled experiments

These conditions name both the target and the tool or hit type. Anything else that removes the target can steal the attempt.

Attractive Investment: protect one magnet’s field

The current target is to collect $500 with a single magnet. Preserve a visible field of collectible value, activate once, and avoid manually removing the same pickups first. If no popup appears, the field was worth less than $500 or the pickup was not credited to that magnet. A second activation cannot repair the “single magnet” proof.

Criticality: control the final hit

The current target is to destroy 100 zorkite crystals with critical hits. Use the live hit feedback to verify critical destruction and keep a manual tally only when the client offers no counter. A non-critical final hit removes a crystal without proving progress, so change one competing damage source before retesting.

Preventative Measures: read the vent state first

The current target is to destroy 10 vents before they erupt. Learn the current pre-eruption state, prioritize those vents, and stop treating an eruption already in progress as a valid attempt. No popup after the tenth assumed success means the warning state or final hit needs to be rechecked.

Clearing the Air: let the named effect do the work

The current target is to have lightning storms destroy fifty vexon gas clouds. Wait until both the named cloud and storm effect are available, then prevent manual clearing or another effect from stealing the destruction. The live popup or counter is the proof.

Do not invent a location guide for zorkite, vents, or vexon from their names. The supplied references contain no verified full-release region catalog. Build these targets into the first current level where the game itself shows the named object and the required tool.

Carry five cumulative goals behind normal jobs

These descriptions do not include a single-level qualifier. That makes them natural ledger items during the campaign, but it does not prove an unseen counter survives every reset. Check any live progress display before assuming persistence.

  • Midas Touch — collect 100 gold coins. Take visible gold during jobs that already advance a quest or resource goal; do not abandon a safe route for one coin. Use a current counter if present, otherwise the Steam popup.
  • Refined Taste — refine 500 barrels of pollution. Keep the refinery supplied during main progress and watch whether field supply or processing is idle. Filled field barrels are not refined barrels.
  • Cash Cow — earn $250,000. Let jobs, quests, and cleanup contribute before scheduling a cash-only replay. Spending does not prove or disprove an unseen earning total.
  • In Safe Hands — open 25 safes. Record safes during the first full pass through each accessible area, then revisit only after the remaining count is known. Finding one is not opening it.
  • Bling King — collect 50 diamonds. Take diamonds on productive routes and defer a dedicated search until the ending and region unlocks stop exposing new opportunities. Other gems or currency do not satisfy the named condition.

Barrel Bonanza and Refined Taste need separate rows in your notes. One counts twenty filled barrels inside one level; the other counts five hundred barrels after refining. A successful field setup can support both, but one popup cannot stand in for the other.

Finish the six purchase states after the route is stable

Full upgrades consume resources that may be more valuable for progression earlier. Treat each named completion state as its own contract:

  • Maximum Suckage: fully upgrade the vacuum.
  • Jacked: fully upgrade the jackhammer.
  • Filtration Amplification: fully upgrade the air filter.
  • Fully Operational: unlock all refineries.
  • Drone Swarm: unlock all drones.
  • Completionist: purchase all upgrades.

Do not assume Completionist automatically covers the refinery and drone conditions, or that “all refineries” means fully upgrading them. The public descriptions use different verbs. Preserve each popup separately.

A low-rework order is to buy what removes the current campaign bottleneck, reach Pollution Solution, complete any missing refinery and drone unlocks, finish the three named tools, and only then purchase branches that never became useful during the run. This is a resource-order recommendation, not a claim about a fixed tree: the live dependencies and prices decide which node can actually be bought next.

Use four session types instead of one overloaded run

  1. Progress session: jobs, quests, regions, ending, normal gold, diamonds, safes, cash, and refinery throughput. No deliberate low-energy stunt.
  2. Level setup session: one of Close Call, Supercharged, Barrel Bonanza, Turbo Time, Turbo Domination, or Clean Streak on a familiar area.
  3. Tool experiment: one magnet, critical-hit, pre-eruption vent, or lightning-storm condition with competing damage removed.
  4. Economy cleanup: missing cumulative totals, refinery/drone unlocks, three tool caps, then the remaining upgrade tree.

After every session, record the Steam popup, the live objective or counter, the level used, and the one variable that changed. If a condition fails twice, reproduce it with fewer simultaneous goals. Changing level, power-up, upgrade tree, and route together makes the missing credit impossible to diagnose.

Current-version boundary

Sludgineers released on August 25, 2026. The developer announcement says the full version adds a new map, larger and more complex levels, new pollution, quests, power-ups, upgrades, refinery automation, and drones. The supplied 81:47 video is explicitly a Demo walkthrough, so it can show the energy meter, barrel row, refinery map, and upgrade interface but cannot prove the retail area order, prices, or balance.

The five supplied guide pages were readable and useful for their evidence boundaries, but they intentionally withhold current recipes, quest details, and upgrade tables. Every achievement name and condition in this roadmap was therefore checked against Steam’s current public tracker. Follow the current client if a patch changes a description or counter.
