Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy Walkthrough: All 14 Chapter Checkpoints

Sophia overlooking Minotaur Island in Resonance A Plague Tale Legacy

Resonance does not divide its fourteen chapters evenly. The opening is a combat tutorial and heist, Chapters 3-7 are built around three trials, Chapters 6 and 9 teach two different forms of creature survival, and the final stretch repeatedly changes the job of light. When progress stops, identify the chapter objective and the Sphere mode the room expects before you start rotating every lens in sight.

This route was checked against the Windows launch version released on August 27, 2026. It follows the main path and preserves the decisions that matter at each gate; it does not pretend that every Resonance Point or Relic sits on the mandatory line. Story events and bosses are necessarily spoiled from this point forward.

Sophia overlooking Minotaur Island in Resonance A Plague Tale Legacy

Use the chapter objective as your first checkpoint

Sophia’s notebook, the objective text, and the active Sphere ability form a three-part state readback. If an interaction is not available, confirm all three instead of assuming the room is broken.

Chapter Main gate Completion readback
1 – Blood Ties Combat lessons in the Plunderers’ Den Survive the mercenary group after the one-on-one lesson
2 – Felons Carnival signals, arsenal fight, and escape Defeat Faro and leave the burning den with Leni
3 – Those Before Us Watchtower clue and three platform latches Ride the unlocked temple platform down
4 – From Hell It Rose Light Reveal, spike floors, and the First Trial arena Finish the arena and survive the army’s return
5 – Desolation It Wrought Light Splitting and the three-symbol Second Trial Complete the past-era arena sequence
6 – What Lies Beneath Creature pursuit and Daedalus’s Key Reach daylight after the pipe chamber
7 – Death It Sowed Black Temple and the Third Trial Defeat Cercyon, rejoin the group, and descend toward the labyrinth
8 – Resonance Follow the childhood trail Reach Theseus after entering the transformed church
9 – Night Has Come Follow light to Minos’s palace Defeat Faro and recover Sophia’s book
10 – Parallel Paths Mountain door, workshop, and Light Concentrate Clear the ash-blocked workshop exit
11 – Patera Realign the great beam through the mines Leave Faro operating the final mechanism
12 – Fading Light Quarry survival and the Third Trial Win the Minos fight as Ariadne
13 – As One Follow the beam through the labyrinth Break the Minotaur structure and complete the final pedestal sequence
14 – What Remains Find Faro and leave the island Reach the beach while the credits run

If your objective belongs to the next row but the named readback from the current row never occurred, reload the latest checkpoint before searching forward. Several transitions deliberately remove companions or change eras, so an unavailable co-op prompt often means the prior scene has not completed.

Blood Ties teaches the combat language, not a build

Chapter 1 is linear. Meet Sophia’s father on the docks, train with Ezra, vault the window at the apparent dead end, and return to Faro’s cabin. After the flashback and the body-search lesson, the chapter moves into its real test: an ambush, Irene’s training, a mercenary duel, and then a group fight.

Read attack colors rather than trying to overpower the tutorial. Normal attacks can be parried, while the dangerous unblockable cue demands movement. The group fight is the proof that you can change targets and create space. No skill purchase or collectible sweep is required to leave this chapter; if the story does not advance, one active attacker is usually still outside the camera.

Felons turns the carnival into a three-stage escape

In Chapter 2, climb to the gate mechanism and let the crew enter the city. After Leni opens the route into the carnival, use the barrel to hide the weapons and take the masks. The church is the anchor: retrieve the equipment and Grapnel near the water, climb to the roof, then use Sophia’s mirror on both white signals. Hold the aim until each signal fades; a brief flash without the fade is not a completed message.

Leave the roof by reversing the Grapnel route, then cross the rooftops toward the arsenal. The route teaches three traversal actions in succession: swing a gap, use the zipline, and pull an archer from a roof. Once inside the arsenal, survive the waves and open the large chest. That chest grants Resonance Points and opens the skill decision; the chapter does not require one fixed first skill.

The escape has two separate fights that are easy to merge in memory. First leave the arsenal and return through the collapsing den. Later, stand with Faro and defeat him. Parry his readable attacks until his stagger window opens, punish, then continue the traversal after the result scene. Reaching Leni after that duel is the reliable end-state.

Those Before Us hides its route in a sight line

Chapter 3 opens on the island with a locked green door that is not the immediate solution. Use the beach and caves to loop around toward the ruined settlement. When the route appears to end, find the ruined house whose doorway frames the watchtower. Looking through that doorway registers the tower as the next clue.

Climb the watchtower and stand behind the circular sight. Rotate the view until the stick in the circle and the fallen mast below form the X drawn in Sophia’s notebook. Return to Leni at the marked ground and uncover the trapdoor. If Leni does not move after the alignment, leave the tower, approach the mast, and reload the checkpoint if the interaction still fails; repeating the correct sight line without resetting the stalled companion does not change the state.

At the city statue, the broken scaffolding sends you up the left-side ruins. Rejoin Leni beyond the separated-door sequence, cross the upper wooden walkway, and enter the High Temple. The first mirror room only asks for light on both receivers beside the door. The following room has three permanent latches: charge the front latch directly, bounce light through a second lens for the left latch, then have Leni hold the broken lens while you feed it from the previous reflector. Use the central pedestal only after all three frescoes are lit.

From Hell It Rose is one connected First Trial

Reach the First Trial entrance by circling the flooded approach, survive the soldiers, and place the Sphere in the pedestal. This unlocks Light Reveal. In the first code room, trace the blue line from each pedestal to its wall symbol. Reading the pedestals from left to right, the code is Y-shaped mark, C-shaped mark, upward arrow.

The next lens chamber begins above the entrance. Step on the pressure plate, then let Leni hold it. Route the beam through the lower-left and lower-right lenses, continue to the upper lens, and finish at the disk over the exit. In the two-pedestal maze room, use Light Reveal to follow each floor route; the left input resembles a circle and the right input resembles a cross. Soldiers arrive after the door accepts both symbols, so do not walk away from the room while combat remains active.

The spike corridor tests the four safe marks stored in the notebook. The first floor is crossed against the far-left wall. The second begins at the far right, advances two tiles, shifts left once, and advances into safety. At the spike wall, reveal the correct socket before placing the Sphere; using a random hole triggers the trap. The larger floor later in the trial has a blue route that disappears behind barriers. Preserve the direction at each barrier rather than stepping onto an unlit guess.

After the floor crossing, retrieve the Kopis from the Hero’s Grave and continue through the army encounter. The arena is the final logic gate: discover the symbol pairs on the floor, light the bell with the T-shaped mark, then the M-like mark with the triangle. Once both statue hands descend, reveal their rings and light the W-like and H-like marks. The arena fight, not the last lens movement, closes the First Trial.

Desolation It Wrought gives Light Splitting three jobs

Chapter 5 upgrades the Sphere again. At the Second Trial entrance, stand on the marked floor and rotate the red, green, and blue rays until each reaches the matching gem. Continue through the first army encounter to the central temple. Three side routes now provide three symbols for the locked gate; a wrong symbol activates a floor hazard, so return with the discovered mark rather than testing the dial.

The first route is the color-reflector chamber. Green uses the reflector opposite its source, red uses the low reflector on the far right, and blue takes the longer chain behind the rock and through two lower reflectors. Clear petrified growth before committing the beam layout. When all three colors hit the central pillar, the first insect-like mark appears.

The second route combines four Light Splitting stations with moving platforms. Let Leni hold the crank, align each three-color group from its flower-marked casting point, and use Light Reveal for the spiked floor between stations. The second mark resembles an M. The third route is a symbol-platform sequence: begin on the second tile from the left, then use the notebook’s Points, Squid, Points, Flower, Squid order. The route deliberately climbs away from the grid midway and returns to it from a ledge; trying to finish entirely at floor level is the trap.

Enter all three discovered marks in the central hall and continue into the past sequence. Win the arena fight as Theseus and interact with its pedestal. The following scene separates Sophia from Leni and begins Chapter 6; there is no missing present-day exit lever to find.

What Lies Beneath changes movement into a stealth signal

The creature in Chapter 6 tracks the blue trail created by hurried movement and stops at usable light. Early runs are sprints from one lit island to the next. When the lights thin out, crouch or walk, place solid ruins between Sophia and the creature’s inhaling attack, and move only after it turns away. A Grapnel or narrow gap buys time but is not a safe zone by itself.

After the forced chase, follow the lantern corridor to the blocked door. Break the crate on the left to reveal a lens, then aim that light at the petrified growth. In the large room beyond, inspect the miniature labyrinth and the petrified Daedalus. The scene grants Daedalus’s Key, the tool that opens the secured temple doors.

Use the Key on the side route before the final climb if you want the Sica Hero’s Grave; it is not the same door as the surface route. To finish the chapter, enter the pipe chamber, combine fast Grapnel crossings with slow cover movement, and climb toward the sunlight. If the creature keeps reacquiring Sophia, the failure is usually a blue movement trail visible behind her, not a missing lamp.

Death It Sowed descends through the Black Temple

Follow the cliff and water route toward the Third Trial, then solve the first gate with its two movable lenses. The Black Temple appears after the following traversal. At its outer door, Light Reveal places a number on each of four columns. Reading the visible sequence left to right gives 3, 4, 2, 1; press the columns in numerical order, which means fourth, third, first, second.

Inside, reveal and press two hidden skull switches while moving the room’s light. Return to the main pedestal, place the center reflector on the middle rim, and use Light Splitting so green reaches the center, blue reaches the right, and red reaches the upper-left receiver. The opened route goes down into the hole; waiting for the vertical door to swing normally leaves you in a solved room with no apparent exit.

At the bottom, cross the broken platforms and open one of the doors to enter Theseus’s Third Trial. Reach a safe platform without leaving a movement trail for the creature, then defeat Cercyon. Back as Sophia, follow the green platforms, take the boat through the waterfall route, and activate the large sphere. Rejoining Leni and Faro is temporary; the chapter only ends after the group descends toward the labyrinth.

Resonance is short because its trail is the objective

Chapter 8 returns to Sophia’s childhood. Follow the white route through the Covenant spaces, use the available interactions, and enter the church. Inspect the book when prompted; the room changes and exposes a deep opening. Continue on the white line until Sophia reaches Theseus. There is no combat build, trial code, or alternate island branch to solve here.

Night Has Come makes every lamp a route marker

Run from the creature at the opening of Chapter 9, then activate the first lantern after the cutscene. Minos’s palace stays visible in the distance. Travel toward it from light to light: crouch between lamps, shield the creature’s breath with ruins, and ignite braziers that clear the next corridor. A pair of soldiers, a breakable wooden barrier, and the cave confirm that you are still on the forward route.

At the broken bridge, use the Grapnel on its right side, move along the columns, and pass through the ruined building. The later zipline drops Sophia into another army group. After that fight, clear the barricade, enter the door, and commit to the forced sprint. The palace entrance is directly beyond the chase.

Inside the palace, light braziers before walking through Petrified groups. Slow movement prevents unnecessary activations; light can also remove threats blocking the line. Place the Sphere in the available pedestal for a story vision, continue downward, and fight Faro. This duel closes when he yields and returns Sophia’s notebook, not merely when his first health phase empties.

Parallel Paths opens the mountain twice

Chapter 10 first asks Sophia and Faro to reach the mountain, then asks them to open it. After the army encounter, align the two right-hand masts into the triangular shape shown in the notebook. The sight line reveals a three-dot marker and the cave route. Inside the cave, each wall symbol maps to an arrow recorded in the book; treat the book as a turn list rather than choosing the brightest tunnel.

At the mountain door, reveal all six stelae. Three are initially lit, the waterfall cave provides a movable light for two more, and Faro illuminates the last after the center-platform interaction. The pedestals control the door rings: left moves the inner ring, middle moves the middle ring, and right moves the outer ring. Set inner to the snake, middle to the upward arrow, and outer to the H/linked-letter mark, then use Light Splitting on the aligned gems.

Daedalus’s Key opens the workshop. In the past-era test, use lanterns to force back the creature, close the lit mechanisms, and follow the revealed platforms. The sequence demonstrates Light Concentrate before Sophia owns it. Back in the present, coordinate with Faro’s moving beam, clear the growth from the reflectors, and reach the Sphere socket. Once Light Concentrate is installed, use it from a light source to clear the blocked workshop exit.

Patera turns light into a combat finisher

Chapter 11 follows the great beam downward. Rotate it only after moving the wall shield into place; the shield lets Sophia reach the second crank without standing in the destructive beam. When Petrified soldiers animate, sword attacks and a charged critical strike expose their weak point, but light is still required to finish them. Stand beside the lantern and use Light Concentrate on the exposed growth.

Clear ash to access the elevator, cross the lens machinery, and realign the beam in stages. In dark areas, the same ability can repel the creature, so do not spend time searching for a separate weapon prompt. The final mine route ends with Faro remaining at a lever so the beam can continue. Once Sophia passes the scene alone, backtracking for a companion boost is no longer possible in that chapter state.

Fading Light alternates quarry survival and the past

At the beginning of Chapter 12, ignite the brazier and use Light Concentrate to lower the bridge. In the quarry, activate the elevator before trying to fight the creature. Use the two lit areas as alternating shelters while the platform descends. When Sophia announces that it has arrived, run to it, light its braziers, and pull the lever. The platform light provides the last defense during the ascent.

Continue through Daedalus’s locked door, cross the remaining Third Trial spaces, and reach the labyrinth approach. The chapter later switches to Ariadne. The Minos encounter uses Theseus’s move set; read it as a boss state, not a return to Sophia’s inventory. Defeating Minos completes the chapter and restores the present-day thread for the finale.

As One follows the beam through repeated threat loops

Use the first ringed pedestal in Chapter 13 to send light into the labyrinth. Ariadne’s white route appears when the architecture becomes hard to read. Each loop follows the same logic with a different obstacle: reach a lamp, avoid the creature, fight the soldiers or Petrified guarding the next mechanism, then use a ringed pedestal to pass the beam onward.

For the Petrified-door rooms, activate the lantern, clear growth from both the route and the reflector, and point the reflector at the receiver over the door. A later room puts the light on a timed flower pedestal; reactivate it when necessary, finish the puppet enemies in the beam, then clear the exit. Do not chase the white line while the active combat boundary is still closed.

At the heart, reveal the large light sphere and fire at the blue growth on the Minotaur structure. When the creature appears, move the beam between its visible heads and the new blue eruptions. The fight then forces a run and asks Sophia to pull both face sections with the Grapnel. Return to the sphere after the vision transition and repeat the light attack until the statue collapses. The final pedestal sequence with Ariadne is the chapter readback.

What Remains ends on the beach, not at the first reunion

Chapter 14 is an epilogue. Follow the blood trail, find Faro, and continue through the closing scene. The credits begin before control ends, so keep moving away from the temple. Reaching the beach and the last coin moment completes the story and awards the all-chapters record. There is no hidden combat encounter behind the credits route.

Diagnose the room by what failed to change

  • A mirror receives light but the door stays shut: inspect every receiver for a completed glow. Multi-latch rooms keep solved latches active, but a beam merely passing near a disk does not count.
  • Light Reveal shows nothing: stand on the marked floor position or beside the pedestal that owns the clue. Reveal is contextual; sweeping the entire wall from anywhere is unreliable.
  • Light Splitting colors will not align: confirm the floor casting mark, clear petrified growth, and check whether a reflector or ring has moved the target out of its original position.
  • Leni or Faro does not take a mechanism: perform the nearby boost, plate, or first crank interaction. The companion handoff is normally triggered by Sophia starting the job.
  • The creature keeps finding Sophia: watch for the blue track, break line of sight during its inhale, and end movement inside actual light rather than beside an unlit fixture.
  • The next chapter does not start: look for a remaining enemy, unfinished pedestal animation, second boss phase, or post-credit movement segment before reloading.

Keep cleanup separate from story navigation

The Resonance puzzle solutions guide breaks the dense trial rooms into reset-safe inputs and beam chains. The 30-Charm location route is organized by chapter so a chest sweep does not distort the mandatory path. The 36-achievement roadmap separates story records from combat counters and chapter-select cleanup. None of those pages is required to understand the fourteen chapter gates above.

The official Steam page identifies Asobo Studio, Focus Entertainment, the August 27, 2026 release, and the single-player action-adventure scope. The official game page confirms that the Sphere manipulates light, that the story shifts between Sophia’s era and Minoan events, and that the creature must be escaped or outsmarted rather than defeated by an ordinary blade.
