Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter Walkthrough: Bonus BP and Missable Quest Checkpoints

Estelle overlooking a bright Liberl landscape

Rank A costs 450 BP in the 2026 remake of Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter. Only 452 BP are available, so there is almost no room for missed bonuses. Complete every story and side quest, take every BP-marked dialogue answer, and finish the extra requests that appear after a chapter boss but before you leave the region.

This route concentrates on bonus BP and quests that can fail or expire. It does not reproduce every story objective, chest, recipe, or Monster Guide entry. The official site warns that the game directly continues 1st Chapter, so story spoilers begin below.

Use this checkpoint before every region change

Open the Bracer Guild board, clear every active request, and check the map for green <!> markers before boarding an airship or committing to the next region. The remake makes formerly hidden requests easier to spot, but some quests appear only after the local chapter boss. A cleared board before the boss is not proof that the region is finished.

Chapter 4, Rolent Complete Recipe Reminiscence, Dabbling With Diaset, and Commission Caper before traveling to Bose.
Chapter 5, Bose Complete Businesswoman’s Bodyguard, Distant Days, and Mine Mop Up before the Valleria story event.

Prologue: collect all five Le Locle bonuses

The prologue has five separate BP awards. Choose Wake Up when Estelle hears gunfire for 2 BP. Defeat the Jaeger inside the lodge for another 2 BP; continuing after a loss gives up that bonus.

During the later questions, answer The Jaeger assailants when asked who carried Estelle and Anelace into the forest. Choose Move to a new base for the full 3 BP on the Jaeger Corps question. The other partially correct response gives only 1 BP. Finish the bluff with Call? There’s no need. for the last 2 BP.

Chapter 1: finish the Ruan bonuses before the post-boss requests

For Ingredient Inquiry, turn in all six requested monster ingredients. You need Monster Roe, Monster Horn, Monster Bone, Monster Bird Egg, Monster Fang, and Monster Tender. The complete set awards 2 bonus BP. Flying Shrimp in Sapphirl Tower can supply the Monster Horn if that is the missing item.

In Sapphirl Snapshot, face the device directly and frame it in the center behind the nearest pillars. That composition earns 2 BP. The remake does not require Dorothy to be with the party for this bonus.

The lighthouse controls are safest when handled in three full passes. Set every switch to LOW, change every switch to MID, then move all of them to HIGH before starting the system. After reporting to the keeper, choose Do you need anything else taken care of? for 1 BP.

During The “White Shadow”, identify the inconsistency as The direction the white shadow disappeared in. This is worth 3 BP; the first response gives only 1. For Drawbridge Defect, select Human Intervention for 1 BP.

Sunday Scholar answers

The Sunday Scholar quiz gives 2 BP only when all ten answers are correct. Use these answer texts rather than relying on option numbers, which are easier to misread:

  1. Regional peace and safety of the populace
  2. G through A, seven total
  3. 50 years ago
  4. Non-involvement in political affairs
  5. Prioritize the safety of the people
  6. 16 or above
  7. The client’s wishes
  8. A unit from the Royal Army
  9. Article 2
  10. 42 arge

Do not leave Ruan after the boss

Election Office Outrage starts from Nial’s blue sub-event at Hotel Blanche. Investigate all four floors until the conversation topics have been exhausted. When the party reviews the case, choose the sixth suspect option, then use the second response for each evidence question. The quest does not add bonus BP, but selecting Give Up fails it.

Winners Wanted also has to be completed during this post-chapter window. With Scherazard, have Estelle keep the pair and play, Olivier keep the pair and fold, then have Schera keep the spades. With Agate, keep the king and play on his turn, have Olivier keep the pair and fold, then let Estelle discard her entire hand. Winning one hand completes the request.

Chapter 2: take the extra battles and search all eight parts

Early in “Earthquake” Investigation, visit the blue sub-event in Kaldia Tunnel and speak to the NPC who mentions a suspicious person. That conversation is worth 3 BP. Later, answer It was both when comparing the event with Wolf Fort for another 3 BP.

Firearm Field Test asks for ten Command Battles, but completing fifteen awards 2 extra BP. In Drill Duty, continue after the first two fights and accept the additional battle with Lt. Colonel Cid for 2 BP.

Probe for Parts has eight items. Three are in the 3F Workshop, four are in the 4F Laboratory, and Antoine has the last one in his mouth in the 4F Infirmary. Finding the complete set adds 2 BP. During “Epicenter” Investigation, use the stated offsets from Zeiss: 165 selge to the east and 228 to the south. They point to Elmo Village, worth another 2 BP.

After the Chapter 2 story ends, stay in Zeiss long enough to start Guest Gone Missing. It returns to the sealed section of Kaldia Tunnel, where the Pengus appeared in the first game. This area also contains the last group needed for the local Monster Guide coverage.

Chapter 3: search the villa desk and recheck Grancel after the boss

In Lost Child at Erbe Royal Villa, inspect the rooms, then search under the desk beside Raymond for 3 BP. When the party considers how Renne reached Liberl, answer That can’t be right for another 2 BP.

At the top of Gurune Gate during The “Tea Party”, choose We’ve been lured into a deadly trap for 3 BP. Exhibit Enigma ends in a boss fight, so prepare before following the final Phantom Thief B clue.

Defeating the chapter boss opens another short quest window. Return to the available requests before leaving Grancel and complete Piscine Pilferer and Kirsche Avenue Monster.

Chapter 4: do Find That Feline immediately

Find That Feline has one of the shortest availability windows in the chapter. Start it as soon as its marker appears. Move between the airship crew and Abend Bar until the party receives permission to board, then search the lowest deck for the cat.

Betrothal Band Bandit ends at Esmelas Tower, where the crow sits on a pillar at the top. The ring can be collected before speaking to the client, so finding it early does not ruin the quest.

Investigation of Coma Cases contains two 3-BP answers. The shared detail in the four statements is The lack of witnesses. The event at the place where the woman in black appeared is Luke fell asleep. The wrong first answer may still give 1 BP, but it prevents the full six-point result.

Fishing Spot Scout locations

Catch at least one fish at all seven Rolent-area spots for 2 BP:

  • the pond beside the Bright family home;
  • Elize Highway, beside the bridge;
  • Malga Trail’s concealed cave;
  • the Milch Main Road pond;
  • the spot left of Verte Bridge Checkpoint;
  • Rolent Sewers, entered through the ground grate south of the church;
  • the pond near the Chapter 4 boss arena, after the boss but before the party leaves for Bose.

The unidentified fish in the sewer cannot be caught until the quest reward provides the next rod, so it is not the fish you need for the first pass. During Pursuit of the “Woman in Black”, escape the looping route without using too many failed attempts to keep the 3-BP bonus.

Rolent’s post-chapter requests

Recipe Reminiscence does not place one convenient green marker on the map. Talk to Maggy upstairs in the apartment west of Abend Bar. Stella is upstairs in Elger Arms & Guards, and Bloom is on the second floor of Rinon’s General Goods. Return to Rhett in Maggy’s building after those conversations.

For Dabbling With Diaset, use the Monster Guide to find any missing ingredients. Pearlglass can be caught on Elize Highway with the Progress Rod and Earthworm, or with the Bamboo Fishing Rod and either Dumplings or Pond Snails. Commission Caper is another Phantom Thief B trail and finishes with a boss.

Chapter 5: save the three Bose cleanup quests for the correct window

After the third required monster fight in Extermination of Monsters, answer They seemed scared for 3 BP. During the building-collapse decision, choose Make a plan first for another 3 BP.

Delicacy Delivery gives 2 bonus BP for supplying ten of all eight ingredients. Orvid, just south of Bose Market, supplies seven of each, so check the Monster Guide for enemies that drop whatever remains. The Serendipity quartz, available from the reward for completing 25 quests, increases the drop rate and can shorten that collection step.

Choose Call Felicity a coward during Damsel Disappearance for 1 BP. Once the main Chapter 5 sequence finishes, do not trigger the Valleria events until the three late requests are complete.

Businesswoman’s Bodyguard awards 2 bonus BP for reaching Ravennue within ten minutes. Rest first because a boss blocks the route. Start Distant Days in the residence immediately west of Bose Market. In Mine Mop Up, the extermination target covers the Vogel 560 and Vogel 225 groups. The older Millipede Balls and Murder Crabs in the mine do not have to be cleared for this request.

Chapter 6: prepare for the five-on-one Glorious fight

Before starting the Valleria Shore inn event, stock at least 20 Red Pepper. You also need 12 each of Monster Tender, Dragon Beans, Acerbic Tomato, Monster Fang, and Marbled Tenderloin. These ingredients support the cooking route used for the optional full reward during Research Facility Infiltration.

On the Glorious, save before the red <!> marker on the deck. The forced encounter puts Estelle alone against five Enhanced Jaegers. Surviving until the sequence ends gives 2 BP. Defeating all five gives 5 BP.

A chest near Estelle’s starting room contains Spicy Meatballs and teaches its recipe. Agate can prepare his Draconic Meatballs specialty even though he is not in the active party. One launch-version community route recommends the dish because it can hit the starting group together and apply Burn and Seal. The Jaegers remove ailments when Rage Boost activates, so the opening turns matter more than a long status plan.

For the reported Nightmare clear, Estelle entered below 20 percent HP with Lone Blade and STR/SPD-focused equipment. After Draconic Meatballs thin the group, keep enough CP to use an S-Craft when the lead Jaeger’s Endure state triggers; Zerams can restore CP if needed. Treat that as a reference setup, not a mandatory quartz list.

Chapter 7 has no bonus BP

The Tetracyclic Towers chapter does not award bonus BP. Continue the story without searching its tower objectives for a hidden dialogue or battle bonus.

Chapter 8: clear monster work before handing over each ZFG

Chapter 8 sends the party around Liberl with Zero Field Generators. Complete nearby monster requests before giving a generator to each guild. Handing over the generators progressively removes party members’ access to Arts. Monsters defeated before formally accepting a local request can still count, so clear visible hordes as you move toward each branch.

Repair the Rolent guild communicator first. Miner’s Mayday cannot begin until that communicator works. To start Lugran’s Lifeline, view the optional event in Ravennue, return to the Bose Bracer Guild, and choose Calvard Embassy when asked where to look for the medicine. That answer adds 1 BP.

Hot Spring Salvation appears late in the chapter. Put Tita in the party before entering the pump room so the quest can start.

The reward page should show 86/87 quests before the last request. The final one arrives after the party uses the guild communicators following all ZFG installations. The game then warns that unrestricted travel around Liberl is about to end. Stop at that warning, finish the remaining request, and confirm at least 450 BP before proceeding.

Sources and version boundary

This guide covers the 2026 remake, not the older Trails in the Sky SC route. The official Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter site identifies the sequel and its spoiler boundary. The official Steam page confirms the remake’s PC version and current combat features. Numerical BP values and quest windows were checked against NookGaming’s launch-version BP guide. Older 382-BP material and trainer claims were excluded.
