Qliphah in Providence’s Shadow main story walkthrough: Prologue to Chapter 5

To finish the main story in Qliphah in Providence’s Shadow, follow the Mission panel from the opening battle through five chapters. The investigation moves from Tiny True in Shibuya to Ebisu’s collapse, the stigma cult, Brahman’s research, and finally seven reality anchors. This path ends with the Ceremonial Inner Sanctum fight and Rena and Soma’s epilogue.

Before you move around the map

Finish the opening combat tutorials before treating the city map as a list of places to clear. A yellow square marks a Key Area, a circular marker identifies a Search Area, and the crossed-circle marker identifies a Battle Site. The Mission panel names the investigation that advances the chapter. Select its marked locations and read the new mission text after every scene. A location that has already given you its clue may remain visible on the map; revisit it only when a new objective points you back.

The day and night selector matters. Chapter 1 explicitly asks for Dogenzaka during the day and Central District at night; the Slum District investigation also advances at night. If a location gives only incidental dialogue, compare its marker and the Mission wording, then switch to the requested time before spending more stops on unrelated fights. Each chapter has its own on-screen collapse countdown. The story can continue after time passes, but enemies become more dangerous when the countdown runs over, so work through the active investigation before clearing every optional Battle Site.

In combat, look at the enemy’s colored attack cue and queue a matching colored skill for a counter. Stop Time gives you room to inspect the predicted attacks and change a bad sequence; the Sub-Palette gives you access to the other skills you equipped. Save a recovery skill there before the chapter bosses. Do not empty the whole palette just because an enemy is open: a charged skill is more effective than one reused during cooldown, and you still need a matching response when the next attack arrives. When both Rena and Soma are available, switch between them to keep useful skills coming and take the Buddy Counter prompt when it appears.

Prologue and Chapter 1: Tiny True in Shibuya

The prologue starts with Rena’s combat lesson and her meeting with Soma Hoshigami, the courier whose arm has changed after an Anomaly attack. Complete the prompted fights. When the story moves to the Public Safety Bureau, speak through Captain Kemmochi’s briefing, set the newly available skills, and go to the Gymnasium. The training introduces Soma as a controllable partner and explains skill cooldowns. The first Chapter 1 mission, Tiny One, is complete when the Gymnasium objective is checked.

For Illicit Drug: Tiny True, investigate Around Dogenzaka during the day. Switch to night for Central District, then investigate Slum District when the mission points there. The night Slum District fight is where controlling both characters becomes especially useful. If you arrive in the day and the investigation stalls, change the time on the map; walking into a different Battle Site will not satisfy a night investigation.

Once the Tiny True sample is in hand, Suspicions sends you to the Research Institute. After the analysis, follow the new lead to Mitake St. and defeat the Apostle of Prayer. Continue through the Botanical Garden and the Abandoned Building to investigate the deteriorating Tier Ones. At the Abandoned Building, keep a Rush going only while the enemy’s attack schedule leaves space. The mission then broadens to Tier Ones from Inferior Drugs: inspect the new sites around the Public Assembly Hall and Unsanctioned Club, win the required encounters, and take the next sample back to the Research Institute. These clue handoffs are what open the route toward the collapse site.

Enter Collapse Site Vicinity when it becomes the Key Area, then continue into Shibuya Collapse Depths for The Blighting Sovereign. The fight introduces a dangerous Psych Gauge: letting it fill can force a Dead End, so answer its colored attacks rather than trying to trade damage. The boss also petrifies limbs during the later exchange. When the game offers a Buddy Counter, use it to interrupt the pressure and resume attacking the exposed target. If you lose, return with a recovery skill on the Sub-Palette and give counter timing priority over a long Rush chain. The post-fight scene closes Chapter 1.

Chapter 2: lower Ebisu’s corruption and reach Kieren

Chapter 2 opens with Divine Being and the Ebisu investigation. Start at the Ebisu Art Museum, then follow the clues through Ebisu Square and Ebisu Sta. The route leads to the Collapse Perimeter, but its corruption initially blocks progress. When the mission changes to Corruption Spread, fight at the newly marked nearby sites to reduce it. Defeat the Anomalies at the Produce Shop, then check whether the entry objective has appeared. Convenience Store and Sports Club offer additional fights if you need Research Points, skills, or a safer approach to the coming boss. Enter the collapse site as soon as “Enter the Ebisu Collapse Site” replaces the corruption objective.

Defeat the Tier Ones at the Ebisu Collapse Site and take the resulting sample to the Research Institute. Kieren interrupts the visit and summons Anomalies; clear that encounter before returning to the investigation. The next mission, Gate to Another World, names the destination: pursue Kieren in the Collapsed City. If you are still seeing “Reduce the Collapse Perimeter’s corruption,” you have not completed the required Ebisu battle step. If “Enter the Ebisu Collapse Site” remains, visit that Key Area rather than searching the city for Kieren.

Kieren calls in Primordial Heavensbane at the Collapsed City. Its threads create Mobility Obstacles that interfere with movement. Break the obstacle that is restricting your escape route, then deal with the Anomalies released when it breaks before returning to the boss. Watch the predicted attack list while switching targets: the fight lasts through several health segments, and a successful early Rush does not mean the danger is over. Preserve a recovery option and spend your charged skills after counters open a clean window. Kieren retreats after the fight, and Chapter 3 begins.

Chapter 3: trace the stigma cult and rescue Soma

Abyssal Snare begins with Riot and the Stigma. Scope out the riot at Shibuya Academy, then follow Brainwashing Patterns by asking about stigmata around Shimokitazawa. The clues lead to a stigma shop under Fulfilled Wishes. Enter its marked Search Area instead of assuming that every new battle icon carries the cult lead. After the shop scene, the Mission panel changes again and marks the next part of the investigation.

For Infiltrating the Cult’s Church, collect three separate leads: proof of a believer, a believer’s paraphernalia, and a believer’s scripture. The Mission panel shows each one as its own checkbox. In this route, College Campus during the day advances the proof lead through Alto Sagara, and College Auditorium during the day advances the scripture lead. The paraphernalia investigation includes Home in Shimokitazawa during the day; keep following its newly marked Search Areas until that last checkbox clears. Trying to enter the Church early produces an insufficient-information message. Return to the panel after each scene and identify which box is still empty instead of repeatedly selecting the church marker. Once all three are complete, enter the Church at night and advance its story scene.

The story then turns into Soma’s Forced Awakening. Follow the new “Chase after Soma” objective to the Building Rooftop. The opponent is Tier One – Hoshigami, and this encounter is fought with Rena alone. Before entering, put a reliable recovery skill and counter-capable attacks on Rena’s palettes; a setup that depends on switching to Soma or triggering a Buddy Counter cannot carry this fight. Stop Time when the predicted attacks bunch together, counter the color you can cover, and evade the rest rather than forcing a long offensive queue. The fight concludes with Soma’s return and the Chapter 4 transition.

Chapter 4: Brahman, the old research facility, and the Seraph

Chapter 4 is titled Sublimation. Its first mission, Suspicious Ampoules, has two active lines: continue investigating Brahman and investigate Anomaly sightings. Start with the Cemetery at night. Rena finds a used ampoule there; the next day, take it to the Research Institute for analysis. The route then marks the High-Crime Area at night, where the clinical-trial lead brings you into contact with Kei Kannagi. Complete its encounter before following the new lead to the Residential Area during the day. That scene identifies the pharmacist connected to the ampoules. If the mission panel still shows both investigation lines, check the Search Area marker for the next clue rather than clearing an unrelated Battle Site.

Return to the Cemetery at night for the cult-storage lead. In this route, the investigation continues through Back Alley during the day, where a witness discusses the G Clinical Trials, and Cemetery Waste Site at night, where Rena and Soma find the stored research materials. The College Annex night scene then points them back to the Public Safety Bureau; use its computer to identify Myn-Erva Dev. The investigation board records each clinical-trial and research-institute clue as it arrives. Reopen it after a scene if you lose the next marker. This is a working order through the two mission lines; the on-screen Key Area and Search Area markers tell you which stop is active in your game.

The Truth Behind the Institute sends you to Myn-Erva Dev. Speak through Tsukuyomi’s reception scene and return when the new lead points you to researcher Rio Amemiya; her account identifies the old facility. Transcendent Ideologies then directs you down the Collapsed Road toward the Former Research Facility. Follow that named route until the boss introduction. You can leave other battle icons on the wider map for later once the facility becomes your Key Area. If no new Key Area appears, inspect the remaining Brahman or Anomaly-sighting objective and finish its marked search first.

The Chapter 4 boss is Weary Seraph of Deceit. It is a long fight with repeated, closely spaced attacks and a changing health bar. Keep Stop Time ready for the dense clusters, defend or counter the first strike, then spend charged damage skills in the opening after it. Watch for Heavensward Wings in the predicted attack list before committing to a queue that leaves no defensive response. After a failed attempt, adjust your palette and recovery slots before re-entering the facility. Defeating the Seraph leads into Chapter 5.

Chapter 5: seven reality anchors and the Ceremonial Inner Sanctum

Providence’s Shadow first sends Rena and Soma to brainstorm at the Public Safety Bureau. The investigation then becomes Nexus Reality Anchors, with two lines visible: “Find the reality anchors” and “Find and detain Tsukuyomi.” The anchor counter begins at 0/7. Rena asks the team to mark the known anchor locations and follow the network. You can use this working order to finish the seven-site search:

The Chapter 5 mission starts at 0/7; use the named map sites below to advance it. Screenshot from the supplied full-gameplay recording.
  1. Back Alley, day: enter the newly indicated area and clear its Anomaly fight. The mission counter rises to 1/7.
  2. Art Gallery, night: follow the next marker and defeat the enemies there. Check for 2/7 before leaving the area.
  3. Potate Date Café, day: complete the scene and its fight to reach 3/7.
  4. Omotesando Complex, night: inspect the nexus point and defeat the attackers for 4/7.
  5. Yoyogi Park, day: record the anchor’s coordinates and win the following encounter. The panel should read 5/7.
  6. National Gymnasium, night: inspect the anchor, then defeat the Tier Ones to reach 6/7.
  7. Takeshita Alley, day: approach the last anchor and clear the encounter. The counter becomes 7/7.

The day or night setting above is the one used when each site advances this path; the numbered in-game day can vary with your detours. After each fight or scene, read the Mission panel before choosing another Battle Site. If the count has not changed, finish that site’s remaining scene or switch to its listed time. At 7/7, the map directs the search for Tsukuyomi toward Jindaigu Shrine. Visit the shrine and finish her confrontation instead of returning to old anchor markers.

The next marked stop is Village Shrine Grove at night. Clear its Apostle of Prayer battle, including the petrification pressure, to advance the final investigation. When the objective becomes Human Potential, it says to pursue Kieren in the Ceremonial Inner Sanctum. Select that destination and continue through the story scenes until the final battle begins.

Heavensfall Dawnbringer is the final fight on this route. The boss has a large, segmented health bar, and additional Apostle enemies appear during the encounter. Stop Time to see whether the next dangerous action belongs to the boss or an add; counter or evade that action before building another attack string. Remove an add when it is interrupting your counters, then return to the Dawnbringer. Rena and Soma are both available here, so rotate their charged skills and take counter prompts rather than relying on one character’s cooldown-bound attacks. Keep recovery accessible for the late phase, when the boss still has attacks after its earlier health segments are gone.

After the boss falls, let Kieren’s closing scene play and continue the following map dialogue. Rena and Soma’s epilogue and the game’s closing title follow. Reaching that scene completes this main-story path. A different ending, a full Evidence Board, Rank A boss results, and every achievement are separate goals with their own requirements.
