Go to the next building on the map, the dorms. Talk to the woman at the front desk, who asks you to make her a 6 oz. coffee. Take the coffee grounds from her. Pick up the pink, yellow, and blue transparencies. Open the fridge to get milk, the drawer for sugar, and the cabinets for a pitcher and coffee grinder. Fill the pitcher with water from the water cooler. Also, look at the symbols on the wall and the sticky note that says, “Count the triangles!” Count the triangles in each symbol to get 3, 6, 8, and 9. This will be useful later.
Place the coffee grounds, coffee grinder, pitcher of water, milk, and sugar near the coffee machine. Grind the coffee, put the grounds into the coffee maker, add water, and turn it on.
Solve a beaker puzzle to get exactly 6 oz. of coffee:
- Pour from the 12 oz. to the 8 oz.
- Pour from the 8 oz. to the 5 oz.
- Pour from the 5 oz. back into the 12 oz.
- Pour from the 8 oz. to the 5 oz.
- Pour from the 12 oz. to the 8 oz.
- Finally, pour from the 8 oz. to the 5 oz. Now there are exactly 6 oz. in the 8 oz. glass.
Add a sugar cube and some milk to the coffee, then give it to the woman at the front desk. She’ll let you look at a paper with names and symbols on it. Place the three transparencies on the paper on the table.
Align the transparencies in the correct order:
- Place the yellow sheet (numbered “817”) on the box where 8 and 17 intersect.
- Place the pink sheet over the yellow, aligning the two alarm clocks.
- Place the blue sheet last, matching the two pairs of people. This shows that Caesar’s room is 315 (or 3-15).
Take the elevator to the 3rd floor, go to room 15, and use the four triangle numbers — 3689 — to unlock the door. Enter Caesar’s room.
Open the closet and cabinets to collect the stool, palette knife, key, jar of wooden sticks, mixing bowl, and heat gun.
Place the stool by the closet. You can now reach the suitcase, but it’s still locked. Use the palette knife to cut open the shoes and find another key. Then move over to the table.
On the table, place the heat gun, sticks, and mixing bowl. Pour plaster and water into the mixing bowl, stir with a stick, and pour it into three molds. Use the chisel to break open all three molds, then use the heat gun to dry the plaster key and pick it up.
Use all three keys to unlock the briefcase on top of the closet. Inside, compare the two notes and find all eight handwriting differences to complete the chapter.
