For two players to finish Operation: Tango at 100%, one shared story clear is not enough. Keep one player as Agent and the other as Hacker for all six missions, collect the map secret and five optional actions during those roles, then swap and complete all six missions again. Steam completion continues after the campaign: Challenge Mode adds ten stages, three medal achievements, and three role-completion achievements.
This is an achievement route, not a room-by-room puzzle solution. The current Steam list has 30 achievements, checked August 8, 2026. Codes, names, layouts, and target values shown in screenshots or old runs are session examples; read the value on your partner’s live screen. The official Steam listing identifies the released game as AppID 1335790 and confirms its online co-op, voice-communication, cross-platform, and Friend Pass boundaries.
Write two names across four role boxes
Make the checklist about accounts, not the team. A mission completed by the Agent gives the Agent-side achievement to that account; the partner still needs that role after the swap. Use four boxes under each player’s name:
| Box | What belongs in it | When it is complete |
|---|---|---|
| Campaign: Agent | Missions 1–6, including both Mission 6 results | The six Agent mission entries and For Special Services are present |
| Campaign: Hacker | Missions 1–6, including both Mission 6 results | The six Hacker mission entries and On Her Majesty’s Secret Service are present |
| Challenges: roles | All ten challenges as Agent and all ten as Hacker | Both role awards and Jack of all trades, master of all are present |
| Challenges: medals | Best recorded medal on each of the ten challenge rows | Every row is gold and the bronze, silver, and gold awards are present |
Do not mark a campaign box when the team merely reaches the next map screen. Mark the role achievement that appeared for that account. This matters most in Mission 6, where locating the bomb and completing the mission are separate entries.
Take Montreal and the Mission 1 windows before they close
Before selecting A Viral Heist, move both cursors to Montreal, Canada, and select the same unmarked point. The useful confirmation is the Clever Plays logo appearing between the cursors; that is the trigger for From Montreal, with Love. Do it now so a missing map secret never looks like a missing mission later.
Mission 1 then puts four optional achievements close together. Call out each attempt before normal progress resumes:
| Owner | Action | Confirmation and recovery |
|---|---|---|
| Both players | Pause, open Hints, and both confirm the reveal | Wait for the hint itself to appear for For Your Eyes Only; opening the menu alone is not enough |
| Hacker | After the penthouse elevator stops, display three different messages before opening the door | The Agent should see each door display change; replay the elevator opening if Icebreaker does not register |
| Agent | Face a security camera and use every option on the emote wheel once | Stay at the camera until The Spy Who Loved Me appears; gestures away from a camera do not prove the interaction counted |
| Agent | In the virtual-platform section, let the Hacker stand on a placed tile, then remove that exact tile | The Hacker falls, License to Kill registers, and the checkpoint reloads; Mission 4 offers another platform opportunity if needed |

Mission 2 has the other partner-kill window
Near the end of A High-Tech Target, the Hacker takes control of a defense turret while the Agent is escaping through the basement. Before shooting the required electrical targets, aim at the Agent and fire. The Agent’s death, the achievement Live and Let Die, and the checkpoint reload are the observable result. Then repeat the section correctly and finish the mission.
The achievement colors have caused confusion in older trophy routes, so follow the wording instead: License to Kill says “as an agent,” while Live and Let Die says “as a hacker.” The account controlling that named role is the one that owns the action.
Every mission needs an Agent row and a Hacker row
The campaign contains six missions. Keep the same roles through the first pass so each player finishes one clean column, then use this table after each result screen:
| Mission | Agent achievement | Hacker achievement |
|---|---|---|
| 1. A Viral Heist | Angel, Agent Extraordinaire | Fleming, Alistair B. Fleming |
| 2. A High-Tech Target | Forever and a Day | Spectre |
| 3. Business on the Go | Die Another Day | No Time to Die |
| 4. Digital Dive | Ghost Protocol | Skyfall |
| 5. Institutional Cleanup | Quantum of Solace | The World Is Not Enough |
| 6. Big-Bang Theory | The Living Daylights, then It Takes Two… | Zero Minus Ten, then …to Save the World! |
Do not leave Mission 6 after the bomb-location achievement. Continue until the completion achievement for the current role also appears. After the first six-mission pass, the Agent account should have For Special Services and the Hacker account should have On Her Majesty’s Secret Service.

Swap roles and repeat ownership, not just solutions
After Mission 6, switch Agent and Hacker and keep the new pairing through another complete campaign. The puzzles may go faster because both players recognize the flow, but the achievement work has changed owners:
- The new Hacker must send the three elevator messages and perform the Mission 2 turret kill.
- The new Agent must use every camera emote and remove the occupied virtual platform.
- The jointly revealed hint and Montreal secret do not need a ceremonial repeat if both accounts already show them.
- Every mission still has to reach its result. Knowing the solution does not replace the missing role completion.
Once each account has six Agent rows and six Hacker rows, You Only Live Twice covers both campaign characters. On Steam, that is not the end of the 30-item list.
Challenge Mode has a role task and a medal task
Challenge Mode unlocks automatically after the six main missions have been completed with at least one character. It contains ten levels. If the map option is absent, check whether one account-and-role column actually contains all six campaign completions before looking for a separate download.
Each challenge contributes to two different requirements:
- Character coverage
- Field training complete requires all challenges as Agent, while Online training complete covers the Hacker set. Finishing both sets awards Jack of all trades, master of all.
- Medal coverage
- All bronze, All Silver, and All gold look at the best medal recorded across all ten rows.
A gold medal does not prove that both roles completed that challenge, and a slow role clear does not erase an existing gold. A practical pair can therefore learn a stage in the current roles, repeat it while the callouts are fresh until the medal is gold, then move on. After all ten stages have gold coverage, swap roles and finish the missing character rows without turning every replay into another speed attempt.

Use four parts in every timed callout
Gold attempts lose more time to corrections than to a short pause. Use the same order whenever one player reads and the other acts: target, value, position, action.
“Blue triangle, value seven, right of the marked door, enter now” gives the operator one object and one decision. “The blue thing over there” makes both players rebuild the scene. Keep the vocabulary tied to what Operation: Tango actually shows:
- Name the panel first: camera, map, passenger record, door label, scanner, or network node.
- Attach left, right, or opposite to a named wall, door, screen, or travel direction.
- Read back an irreversible code, route, or target once before submitting it.
- Let the player who can see the route navigate; the other player operates.
- If the first anchor was wrong, say “reset callout” and begin again from the panel name.
Challenge 4 is about where the number sits
In Anti-Virus Quarantine, the Agent is directing the Hacker toward the green room. A displayed number is not automatically the next door answer. Its position relative to the wall or doorway—right, left, or opposite—is part of the instruction. The Agent should report that anchored relationship; the Hacker performs the small calculation and chooses the exit that matches it.
Do not memorize the five turns from an example image. If the pair cannot explain why a door was chosen, restart the callout with the wall or door, then the number, then the relation. Reaching the green room is the useful confirmation; reproducing somebody else’s layout is not.
Your two-player file is finished only when each account shows six Agent mission completions, six Hacker mission completions, both campaign-wide role awards, the both-characters award, the map secret, the five optional actions, all ten Challenge rows in both roles, and gold on all ten medal rows. If one campaign award is missing, replay the single mission whose account-and-role cell is blank. If a medal award is missing, inspect the ten medal rows and repeat the one that is still below the required tier.
