Palworld 1.0 can make a fresh save feel busy without making the next move obvious. The opening hands you building, catching, travel, base, and combat systems at once, while the new Main Mission ties them into a chain of eight Key Spheres. For the first half of that chain, the useful question is not “Where should I grind?” but “Which requirement is blocking the next tower?”
This route follows the current Main Mission from the starting beach through Zoe and Grizzbolt, Lily and Lyleen, Axel and Orserk, then Marcus and Faleris. It was checked against the v1.0.1 client and official notices available on July 18, 2026. Pocketpair can still change balance in a hotfix, so a live mission marker outranks a web guide when the two disagree.

Treat the first four towers as four different exams
Each tower asks for a different kind of readiness. Zoe checks whether the tutorial systems have become a real loadout. Lily checks sustained damage and party depth. Axel checks climate travel, ammunition, and defensive control. Marcus checks whether you can hit a mobile target while the arena keeps taking space away.
| Key Sphere | Mission trail | Progress gate | Fight problem |
|---|---|---|---|
| Envy: Zoe and Grizzbolt | Opening tasks, Small Settlement, Foxparks gear, Rayne tower | A functioning Palbox, five usable party Pals, ranged weapon, shield, food | Keep moving, exploit Ground damage, and use pillars to reset |
| Pride: Lily and Lyleen | Bamboo Groves camp, attack site, hidden letter, Free Pal Alliance tower | A base that produces while you travel and a deeper combat roster | Maintain Fire pressure through healing and ranged area attacks |
| Sloth: Axel and Orserk | Fisherman’s Point, PIDF officer, bar lead, porter, Eternal Pyre tower | Heat protection, serious ammunition, stronger armor, replaceable attackers | Survive chained Electric attacks and use the arena’s cover |
| Wrath: Marcus and Faleris | Duneshelter, secret cave, PIDF station, merchant, PIDF tower | Desert travel gear, Water damage, reliable hits on an airborne target | Create space when fire zones and tracking attacks overlap |
Do not use those rows as permission to fly directly to four tower doors. The 1.0 story was rebuilt around investigation steps, NPC reports, and Key Sphere handoffs. Follow the mission trail, complete the report after a victory, and let the next marker appear before committing to the next region.
Repair an upgraded save before following the route
Pocketpair recommends a new character for the cleanest 1.0 experience, but an existing world remains supported. If you continue an Early Access save, perform this repair pass before chasing a marker:
- Back up the world and player data before the first unmodded launch. The separate v1.0.1 notice fixed a save-discard problem, which makes a backup more important, not less.
- Remove old mods and mod loaders, not just their in-game toggles. Start the client without them and verify the game files before restoring only versions updated for 1.0.
- Read the quest log as newly rebuilt state. The 1.0 reward pass cleared prior progress for both main missions and sub-missions. Some tutorial and tower tasks may auto-complete from recorded boss defeats, so do not assume a missing old marker is a bug.
- Use Emergency Escape if an old character loads beyond the revised boundary. This is the official recovery path for some v0.7.3-or-earlier saves.
- Recheck the Palbox, Technology tree, and party effects. Work values, technology placement, Partner Skills, habitats, and many rewards changed in 1.0. An old base can load successfully while still being badly tuned for the new route.
Close the opening loop before leaving the coast
The device on the beach gives you a sequence, not a suggestion to build a permanent home immediately. Gather enough wood and stone for the first workbench and tools, unlock the Pal Sphere and Palbox at level 2, catch nearby low-risk Pals, then place one starter base where its workers can reach every station without climbing over decorative structures.
Pal Spheres now use one Paldium Fragment in 1.0; wood and stone were removed from that recipe. That makes early capture progress less dependent on logging. Catching duplicates is also intentional: the official capture bonus now completes after five captures of a species, down from twelve. Use the local Lamball, Chikipi, Cattiva, and other easy targets as a rotating experience route instead of killing the same wild group until the respawn becomes the bottleneck.
The first base only needs to do six jobs
- Keep food available so deployed workers do not stop for preventable hunger.
- Produce Pal Spheres while you are away rather than after the supply is empty.
- Turn wood, stone, and Paldium into the current weapon and gear upgrade.
- Provide beds and enough open lanes for workers to reach every station.
- Store inputs beside the station that consumes them.
- Give you one clean launch point for the Small Settlement and Rayne tower route.
At level 7, the Monitoring Stand gives you an Assignment Board and work-preference controls. A fixed assignment is useful for a cooler or another station that must stay staffed; it is wasteful when the queue is often empty because that Pal will wait at the chosen facility. For intermittent jobs, disable unsuitable work types and leave the Pal on automatic selection.
Storage placement matters too. Current testing suggests a transporter selects a chest mainly by proximity to the pickup point, although that behavior is not documented as an exact rule. Put a filtered chest beside each busy production cluster, block unwanted categories, and prevent decorative containers from accepting worker deliveries. Treat this as a layout test: if a transporter walks past the intended chest, move or refilter the competing container rather than assuming the Pal is broken.

Zoe turns the tutorial into a real tower attempt
Finish the tasks shown on the device, then follow the survivor’s lead to the Small Settlement. Speak to the chief and continue the tower investigation. Before the door becomes your only focus, complete the Pal Gear step: capture Foxparks, unlock the Pal Gear Workbench and Foxparks’ Harness at level 6, craft the harness, and return to the active mission route.
A current solo walkthrough places a comfortable first attempt around level 12 to 15, with the active Pals at least near level 10. Use that as a diagnostic range, not a locked requirement. You are ready earlier or later depending on difficulty settings, co-op, gear quality, and how much damage your own weapon contributes.
Build the attempt around recoverable mistakes
- Bring Ground damage for Grizzbolt. Rushoar, Fuddler, and Gumoss are accessible examples, but a durable, trained neutral Pal is better than an untrained counter that drops immediately.
- Use a full party. Recall a Pal before it is knocked out and replace it; one favorite Pal should not have to survive the entire timer.
- Carry a Three-Shot Bow or a Crossbow if unlocked. The important property is repeatable ranged damage with enough arrows to finish.
- Equip the Common Shield and the best available armor. A regenerating shield turns the pillars into actual recovery windows.
- Keep cooked food and healing items on the character. Base storage cannot rescue a tower attempt after the door closes.
Inside, circle rather than retreating in a straight line. Electric volleys and the charge are much easier to read when the arena remains in view. When the shield breaks or a Pal needs to be recalled, put a pillar between you and Grizzbolt, reset the camera, then resume damage. The official 1.0 timer is five minutes, so cover is valuable only when it protects the next damage window; hiding indefinitely is another form of failure.
After the fight, return to the chief, then speak to Zoe at the tower. That conversation establishes that seven Key Spheres remain and hands the route to the next investigation. Skipping the report can leave you with a boss clear but no clean story handoff.
The road to Lily should make the base less needy
The next marker leads northwest into the Bamboo Groves. At the marked camp, speak with the inhabitant by the cooking pot. Examine the reported attack site to the south, return with what you found, then follow the new lead southeast. The hideout is below the cliff near a pool; read the letter inside and take that information back to the inhabitant before heading to the Free Pal Alliance tower.
That travel loop is a deliberate production test. If every return requires a manual batch of spheres, food, or ingots, fix the base before entering the tower. Activate Watchtowers and Great Eagle Statues on the route, because 1.0 Watchtowers reveal surrounding map space and become fast-travel points. Capture five of common species in each new band instead of grinding one Alpha repeatedly, and bring back workers that fill a missing suitability rather than adding a fourth version of a job already covered.

Lyleen is a pressure test
The current solo reference range is roughly level 25 to 30. Lyleen is Grass-type, heals, and uses tracking projectiles and wide area attacks. Fire damage is therefore more than a type-chart bonus: it shortens the window in which healing can erase slow progress.
Bring several trained Fire attackers that can take turns, not one glass-cannon counter. A Handgun offers mobile sustained damage when it is available; a Musket can still work if you land deliberate shots and accept its reload gap. Metal Armor and a stronger rechargeable shield provide room for one bad dodge. The exact weapon is less important than a simple test: after the first minute, is the health bar falling faster than Lyleen can recover it? If not, leave and improve Fire skill coverage, weapon uptime, or party survival instead of consuming the rest of the ammunition on a mathematically weak attempt.
During the fight, keep a broad circle and move before the large attack finishes forming. Recall a badly hurt Pal while another can immediately take aggro. A long empty interval between party members gives Lyleen the safest possible healing window. When the Key Sphere of Pride is secured, report back to the inhabitant so the volcanic clue becomes the active problem.
Mount Obsidian asks whether the route can travel under pressure
The next investigation starts near Fisherman’s Point at the southern edge of Mount Obsidian. Explore the settlement, find the PIDF officer to the southwest, and accept his case against the Eternal Pyre faction. The bar conversation points to a porter. Climb northwest from the settlement and look near the waterfall, hear the porter’s account, then carry it back to the officer. Only after that report does the tower become the logical endpoint.
Heat resistance is required to reach the mission safely, but it is not automatically your best combat armor. Compare the environmental protection and defense before entering, and keep the needed climate piece available for the trip back. This is also the point where “some ammunition” stops being a plan. Count what a failed five-minute attempt consumed, then bring enough for a full attempt plus a margin rather than copying a universal stack number.
Use the arena to interrupt Orserk’s chains
Current walkthrough testing places a comfortable attempt around level 40 to 45, with main combat Pals around 40. Orserk is Dragon and Electric, so Ice attackers are the straightforward counter. Build enough depth to rotate through several of them. Do not sequence-break into a dangerous region merely to copy somebody’s named “best” Pal; a trained Ice option already on your route is the practical choice.
A Single-Shot Rifle can deliver efficient damage if your aim is steady. The Assault Rifle is more forgiving once unlocked because missed fractions of a burst cost less than a missed slow shot. Bring the strongest appropriate armor and shield you can currently sustain, not a recipe that empties the base of every ingot before you craft ammunition.
Orserk layers projectile volleys, lightning zones, and a floor shockwave. Move away from overlapping strike markers, jump the expanding floor ring, and avoid backing into the arena edge. The pillars are the key resource: break line of sight when the shield is gone, recall a wounded Pal, and emerge on a different angle. Greedy damage after one attack often runs directly into the next part of the chain.
Take the Key Sphere of Sloth back to the PIDF officer. That report moves the chain from volcanic travel to the desert investigation.
The desert route has three checks before Marcus
Travel to Duneshelter in the Desiccated Desert with heat protection equipped. The investigation then has three distinct checks:
- Town testimony: speak with the distressed merchant near the entrance and the two marked inhabitants inside Duneshelter.
- Hidden operation: follow the lead east to the cave, pass through to the Black Marketeer’s area, and inspect the marked boxes behind him.
- PIDF record: go to the station north of the tower, enter the office through the left-hand route, and read the letter on the desk.
Return that evidence to the merchant before attempting the tower. This is easy to miss if you treat the tower icon as the objective and the investigation as optional flavor.
Faleris removes the safe corner
The current solo reference puts this attempt around level 50. Faleris is Fire-type, so build the party around Water damage. A durable Water Pal that stays active is more valuable than a fragile theoretical maximum. Since Faleris spends much of the battle airborne, use a weapon that can repeatedly connect while you move; sustained rifle fire is easier to convert into real damage than a slow weapon whose missed shots erase several seconds of the timer.
Unlike the earlier pillar-heavy rooms, this arena offers little dependable cover. The answer is spacing. Move sideways across the fire breath, give slow fire tornadoes more room than they appear to need, and keep running laterally while a tracking Electric beam is active. When the floor begins burning, relocate before looking for the next shot. Damage taken near a fire patch is especially expensive because the safe dodge directions have already been reduced.

Do not chase Faleris with the camera so tightly that every ground hazard leaves the frame. Let the Water Pal hold attention, fire during the boss’s recovery, and prioritize a clear escape lane when attacks overlap. After winning the Key Sphere of Wrath, return to the Duneshelter merchant. The report is the end of this four-sphere route, not the moment to fly blindly toward the World Tree.
Turn a five-minute loss into one diagnosis
Version 1.0 shortened normal Tower Boss fights from ten minutes to five and adjusted boss stats with the change. Old HP totals, ten-minute strategies, and pure survival builds therefore cannot be carried forward without checking the current client. Use the result screen and the state of your inventory to identify one failure mode:
| What happened | Likely bottleneck | Change before retrying |
|---|---|---|
| Timer expired while you and the party were healthy | Low damage uptime or weak elemental coverage | Use the correct element, shorten reload gaps, and attack during recoveries instead of firing into movement |
| Your main Pal was knocked out early | No rotation plan | Bring multiple trained attackers and recall at low health before the knockout |
| You died with most ammunition unused | Positioning, shield, or armor failure | Use pillars where available, preserve lateral space, and stop taking the extra shot after an attack cue |
| Ammunition ended before the final quarter | Supply planning or missed shots | Measure one attempt, expand production, and choose a weapon whose accuracy matches the target’s movement |
| The route to the tower consumed the healing supply | Climate or travel preparation | Activate a closer travel point, carry the right resistance, and avoid turning the approach into an extra dungeon run |
| The boss recovered or your damage repeatedly stopped | Party downtime | Replace a hurt Pal immediately and keep the player weapon active while the new Pal takes aggro |

After Wrath, repair the save before extending the chain
Four Key Spheres are enough evidence to audit the whole loop. The production base should now replace ammunition, spheres, food, and climate gear without a long manual reset. The map should have travel points covering the four mission regions. The combat box should contain several leveled options for Ground, Fire, Ice, and Water pressure rather than five copies of one old favorite.
Also re-read every Partner Skill in the current client. Version 1.0 reworked more than 200 of them, and almost all effects from multiple Pals of the same species no longer stack. A varied party built around the next problem is safer than importing a 2024 stacking build.
Finally, complete Marcus’ report in Duneshelter and read the new Main Mission marker. Panthalus, Sunreach, the World Tree, rare-resource farms, hybrid breeding, and achievement cleanup belong to later decisions. None of them is a reason to leave the fourth-sphere handoff unfinished.
